CCE was absolutely spectacular!! Johnell and her team exceeded my expectations and the result was magical. They were professional, punctual, kept everything running smoothly and no awkward pauses! (A must for me) Would recommend them over and over.
I am the mother in law and used clearly classy because that is who my future daughter in law picked and I thought it would help with communications and make it a seamless event. I was wrong. Once I started to have communication issues with Johnna, I filtered out her previous reviews and looked at the critical ones. They were spot on. My hope for writing this review is twofold:
1. Warn any brides or parents thinking of using Johnna
2. Give Johnna some insight that she so sorely lacks
Johnna is in a service industry and her communication style is “snarky”, rude and condescending. Previous reviews mention her eye rolls, sighs, and flippant comments. All true. It feels like you are working with an entitled, spoiled teenager.
Johnna referenced “full disclosure. I am going through a divorce”. So I tried to have compassion for her. However, when she would not answer any phone calls. Tell me “you’re not the only customer” “My life is so crazy” “This is so simple hopefully you can do this task”. All those comments, coupled with past poor reviews….I think this is just what Johnna is like….no people skills or poor customer service.
I paid for a full service event planner as I was from out of town. By the end of the event, my answers to her questions were one word answers and mostly I just avoided coordinating with her because it was so unpleasant. I was so excited for my son and his new bride (and this was my first wedding) and Johnna took away the “fun” and excitement for planning the wedding. At the end of the planning stages, I had no idea how the event would come together. I had lost all trust and communication with Johnna. I am sorry she is going through a rough time right now. I do hope she regroups and goes to some continuing education on customer service and positive communication skills.
At this point, I would NOT recommend her
I rarely write reviews much less negative ones. I write this for future brides selecting their coordinator. Hopefully, the same mistake I made will not be repeated: choosing clearly classy events.
Some examples of the service I experienced with Johnell are listed below.
(1) Johnell never provided us with a seating chart that had accurate dimensions. She gave us a version that she “eye balled” which looked like a rectangle drawn in Microsoft Paint with round tables inside. She said if we needed to “fudge it” the day of the wedding, she’d figure it out. This was problematic because our venue was very limited on space for seating. Luckily, our caterer, a former wedding planner, found her drawing unacceptable, and created a to-scale seating chart for us. Fortunately, this was created because Johnell’s version did NOT fit our space which would have left us scrambling the day of the event.
(2) We were told upon hiring, that Johnell would be present for the vendors arrival and for their complete coordination. Our event rental company delivered all the rentals the day prior to the wedding, setting up chairs and tables 24 hours in advance. Perhaps, Johnell considered this outside her duty since it did not fall on the wedding day. Again, luckily we had a great caterer who came to our house to help coordinate the event rental company. This was largely outside our caterers job description but she recognized it was necessary in order for our event to run smoothly the next day.
(3) Poor communication was an overall theme of the planning process. I could easily blame myself for not remembering to provide Johnell with things such as the seating chart or the shuttle drivers direct cell phone number - which created unnecessary stress and confusion the day of the event (picture a bride’s makeup and hair session continually interrupted). However, my hope was that a seasoned event coordinator, like Johnell, would know what information she needs prior to the event to ensure success - I would have hoped that was not my responsibility (unfortunately for me, it was).
(4) Prior to the wedding, I recognized that Johnell had incomplete information for successful set up. For example, we had used an online flower company for DIY florals combined with potted succulents/cacti. We had told Johnell our plans for florals and she ensured us that her team would help place the vases/pots on tables. Yet, she never attempted to learn how the arrangements would be placed prior to the wedding day. Anticipating chaos, I enlisted my brother, to ensure Johnell’s team knew where things went. His help was invaluable since I was busy with make-up and hair, and unable to direct Johnell on my wedding day.
It would be comforting to think that if we had hired Johnell for full time planning services versus partial planning, she would have performed better. However, my mother-in-law did use her full time planning services for the rehearsal dinner (a big event complete with a band) and had just as many grievances. I recognize that my wedding had many DIY components that a planner may not be familiar with coordinating (since most people choose established vendors for things like florals and champagne wall). Yet again, our rehearsal dinner was completely through vendors and coordination with clearly classy events was still a mess.
Johnell is hands down an amazing planner! I was meeting various planners to try and find the best fit for me while planning a Texas wedding from Connecticut, and as soon as I started talking with Johnell, I knew she was the perfect fit for our wedding. She can make all your dreams and desires come true and is very up front with how things will or will not fit into your budget. We told her what was important to us, and she made sure we had the top vendors in those categories. She was able to find ways to cut expenses in all of the less-important areas for us and helped us stick to our budget. She handled all of our contracts and would negotiate on my behalf. I would essentially get an email that gave me a few options, and I would tell her out of those what I liked/wanted, and she made it happen. Our wedding day went SO smooth! If there was a problem, we had no idea about it because Johnell handled it without us having to be involved. I am SO thankful for her and 100% recommend her to other brides. Thank you Johnell!!
Johnell let us down at almost every turn and her lack of professionalism was shocking.
She had little interest in truly including us in the process with vendors and would rather handle everything by herself. Florals were our biggest priority and we were eager to share ideas with her and vendors. We had some discussions with her and shared a pinterest board and she said she would take care of it but we didn't have our first conversation with the vendor until weeks later. When we did have our first contact with the vendor the quote was for 3x our discussed budget and didn't match our described vision and the vendor admitted he hadn't seen our pinterest board. We asked for some examples of his portfolio and he said he would send some but never did and wouldn't show us any examples of what it would look like unless we first signed the contract which we obviously weren't comfortable doing. We were left scrambling for a floral vendor 3 weeks before our wedding.
When we would we would ask questions to try to get a full understanding of her ideas or to talk through our ideas she made us feel like we were a burden. She kept telling us to just trust her but anytime we did we it was to our detriment. She said finding a musician would be easy but two weeks later she only had one quote that she admitted wasn't really the style we were looking for. We started doing our own legwork to make sure we would at least have one vendor option. She gave us a lighting quote and we didn't know what all the different lights were so we asked her if we could see what some of them look like set up. She said no that wasn't something they do. I emailed the vendor directly asking if we could see some of the lights and two days later we were in the venue without her with all the different light options set up.
We mistakenly decided lets just get through this and at least she'll come through on the day of. This is when things went from really bad to horrific. We had a walk through at the venue with her 9 days before the wedding. After she left we put the chairs down at the tables and realized it was impossible to sit 10 at a table as she had planned. The next day we asked to schedule a phone call in the next few days so we could go over adding tables and a couple other questions. She responded by email saying there was ample seating room at the tables for guests which we knew to be untrue. Again we asked for a 15 minute phone call. She said our walk through 9 days before the wedding was our final meeting and she would only be responding by email. She said we had 3 meetings and 3-4 phone calls and as far as she was concerned her job was done and any additional requests would only be heard by email. We were flabbergasted. We paid for the full service package which specifically states unlimited emails and phone calls and now were being told we weren't allowed one the week of our wedding.
At this point we had already paid in full so i guess she decided now that she had our money she was going to make sure we got fed up enough to not want to deal with her anymore. It worked. She was causing us more stress than she was relieving so a week before our wedding we told her not to come and we would handle everything ourselves. And we did. We called all the vendors and they were all helpful and accommodating and a breeze to work with compared to Johnell. We also found out for a fact that she had been bad mouthing us to vendors behind our backs. Clearly not very classy.
I write this in case it’s helpful for others. I sincerely wish I’d have known what I was getting into before I entered into a contract with Johnell. If you’re not inclined to read the entirety of this lengthy review, I sum my experience up in the last two paragraphs.
My wedding was only 1.5 months away. I chose the full package option. As a full-time professional & graduate student, the idea of a wedding planner sounded like heaven. Her reviews were phenomenal. I thought we’d get timelines, help with our vision, several vendor options with differing price points. Instead we got snarky eye rolls when we’d ask about details, sarcastic jokes about us needing to book marriage counseling, disinterest in getting us what we actually wanted, and extremely abbreviated access to her at her convenience. Honestly, it was devastating. The most stressful part of our wedding planning became my interactions, and oftentimes lack of interactions, with Johnell.
The most important thing for me: the wedding to have our unique imprint and flair- were in direct odds with Johnell’s priorities. Her priority was the path of least resistance, what’s easiest & most convenient for her. Things came together beautifully. But it really was in spite of and not because of our planner.
I made several attempts to explain to her how poorly we felt we were being treated - via several emails and voicemail when she wouldn’t answer or return my call. She would eventually respond in an email days later with a dismissive, “everything will be fine” one-liner.
The last straw was her denying us a 15 minute phone call the week of the wedding. Four days after we requested the brief call with her, she emailed, “No, I’ve done my job already. See you at the wedding on Saturday. Email me a list if there’s changes.” This transpired despite her contracted description of “unlimited phone calls and emails” and us only having had at most three direct phone calls with her. At that point, we decided to cut ties with her completely. It was an extremely high sunk cost. One that benefitted her (she was paid in full despite not working the week of or day of the wedding) & would cost us greatly. It was worth it though as the thought of this, in our experience, truly unprofessional coordinator running our special day was too disheartening.
In sum, I felt trapped in this working relationship. I wound up expending more time and energy on fixing things vs had I not had a planner to begin with. All the while being made to feel like a huge annoyance during the brief times when we would have access to her. Her communication style is one tailored to meet her needs and convenience rather than the client’s. In hindsight, I never should have hired her. It was the poorest decision of my wedding planning process.
Loved working with Johnell and her team! She knows what she is doing and is great with keeping us on track. We had a little unexpected weather, but she didn’t blink an eye. She helped make sure our day was nothing less than amazing and I am so thankful for her! She made it easy for me not to stress! I most definitely would recommend Johnell and her team, they are hands down the best!
Johnell and the team at Clearly Classy Events are the best in the industry, hands down. From vendor communication, to timelines and running the show on the big day, she is the ultimate professional. She works behind the scenes to make sure everything goes off without a hitch and we highly recommend her and her team!

Hiring Johnell and the Cleary Classy Events team was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. To start, I have never been one to day dream about wedding details. Growing up I didn't think about what my flowers would look like, or my color scheme - I just knew I wanted it to be a great time celebrating the love of my life with family and friends. The first time I met Johnell I walked into her office with my wedding Pinterest board in tow, filled with random pins that could have described 10 different weddings. She took a look at what I had, listened to my "vision" (I put in quotes because it was so scatter brained), and she looked and me and said "I can plan this wedding". After giving her my thoughts and letting her know I wanted an ethereal, elegant wedding with a laid back backyard vibe she took me right to the Hummingbird House, and I can not even put into words how perfect and absolutely incredible the venue was. We immediately knew it was the venue for us after a long and arduous search, and we would have never found it had it not been for Johnell's expertise. Every single step of the way she was diligent and responsive. I changed my color scheme at least 3 times before landing on blush, and each time I sent those random late night emails with my frantic requests she would get right back to me. I felt totally at ease, and had the most incredible experience planning my wedding with literally no stress. Every single recommendation Johnell made from the photographer (Luxe Photography), the flowers (Bloom Bar) the videographer (Erik Carlson) and beyond, were absolutely fabulous. Not only was every single person we worked with tremendously talented, but they were also amazing people and a total joy to have as a part of our special day. The day of the wedding I did not have to worry about one single thing. From making sure everything was set and gorgeous, to getting rid of wasps that had flown into our reception tent, to seeing to it that everything ran smoothly and on time, to literally setting an entire extra table in a flash when we had at least 10 extra guests than we were anticipating - we seriously still don't know where the table and linens came from and how she even pulled that off, and I am sure handling so many other things that I wasn't even aware of because I was enjoying my wedding day. If you are getting married and feeling overwhelmed as you are beginning this experience, here is my advice to you. Hire Clearly classy Events. Trust their experience and knowledge, and know that even if from the beginning all you have is a random Pinterest board, they will plan you the wedding of your dreams from start to finish. I am getting teary as I write this because words don't do justice to the wedding they helped us throw. It was truly the best day of my life, and I could not have done it without them.
Clearly classy (specifically Johnell and Susie) are INCREDIBLE!!! Our wedding went off without a glitch from the rehearsal to the very last minute and it was all because of them! As a stressed out bride I highly recommend their services to any bride anywhere. They answered my questions immediately and were quick to find solutions to any problem they were faced with. AND Johnell knew how to bustle my dress in under a minute! Something silly but when you're trying to make your way to enjoy your reception you want someone you can depend on even for the little things and that's definitely Clearly Classy Events.
I was not super impressed with my day of wedding coordinator. There were several times when I had to go on a search for her during my reception; I thought she would be more present making sure things were going as planned. We also requested a plate of food and cake for after the wedding be brought to our room, which it was, but there were no utensils to eat it with. Overall, she did get the ceremony started on time and my vendors organized before the ceremony, but I think there were a few things that she dropped the ball on.
Clearly Classy was assigned to us through the wedding venue that we picked. In the beginning of our wedding planning process I was rather disappointed with the service we were receiving . After pointing out my disappointment, I am happy to say that Clearly Classy Events fixed the issue and gave us one of the greatest blessing to our wedding, Kacie. She was our coordinator for our wedding day and is apart of the Clearly Classy team! She went above and beyond to cater to every last need regarding our wedding day. Our big "fiasco" for our wedding was a rain storm that was supposed to come through at the same time our outdoor ceremony was to take place. When I said that I wanted to wait out the rain, she made sure that every last vendor was ready to go with plan A (waiting it out), plan B (dealing with the repercussions of the rain), and plan C (make sure every guest had a cocktail in one hand and a rain poncho in the other!) to accommodate the weather. And not for one moment did she ever let me know what was going on because her main priority was to keep me cool, calm, and collected! I am thankful that our issues were resolved with Clearly Classy Events because I can absolutely say I would not have had the opportunity to enjoy our wedding without Kacie!
From start to finish: WOW! We knew we wanted a party planner for our wedding, but had no idea where to start or even what questions to ask a party planner. Thank gosh we met Johnell!!! Her and her staff provide you with an exceptional level of service. They provide you with things that you don’t even realize you need when you are trying to decide on a planner. During the process, I thought to myself “Wow, its a good thing we hired Johnell because I had no idea I would even need a timeline or a dropbox folder, but it really came in handy.” She creates a vision board, keeps your budget on track, lets you know how much deposit and final monies are due when and to whom, she coordinates with the transportation and caterer, and flower people and OH MY! All the people to coordinate with is mind boggling, so it really helped for us to have one point of contact, Johnell, who would then contact the correct vendor to make any changes. We changed our minds so many times about little details and they seemed happy to make the changes and roll with our punches. Never, at any point, did they seem frustrated with our requests, which made me, as a bride, feel okay about wanting to add/subtract things from the evening. There are so many details that go into planning an event and I didn’t want to handle any of them. You can be as hands on or as hands off with Johnell and her staff. We let her take complete control of the decor because neither of us cared about it, but she ended up nailing exactly what we had in mind as she took our venue style and favorite colors and blended them seamlessly all well within our budget. Johnell is by your side the entire time you are planning. She came with us to everything…. my dress fittings, our venue walk throughs, flower appointments, etc. Day of the event, Cleary Classy Events was paramount to the success of our event. She showed up early to make sure all the vendors were on time and that the staff was setting things up where they were supposed to go. We had a little bump in the road with our transportation (our bus broke down) but Johnell quickly solved the problem and was able to get another bus to fill in for the rest of the night. If I was trying to get ready, stay calm AND handle all those details, it would have made me super stressed out. Throughout the event, Johnell took control of the things she needed to take control of. She catered to me and my husband making sure we had food, water, drinks, and were comfortable all night. We had to make some changes to the bands setlist throughout the night and Johnell was there to relay the details. She stayed on top of the timeline for the event to make sure everything happened in a timely manner, but was flexible with certain details and when the party just felt right, she would let the party flow. You absolutely need to hire Cleary Classy Events and if you don’t, you will have missed out on an opportunity to work with an amazing group of people who really have your events success in mind! I feel I have made a new friend in Johnell.
Johnell with Clearly Classy Events is the best of the BEST! She is organized, patient, caring, kind and above all... one heck of a wedding coordinator. I really believe hiring Johnell was the reason my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our wedding!
She is impeccably organized and kept us on schedule. We never had to worry that something was overlooked because Johnell was on it. Throughout the process, Johnell reached out to every vendor to make sure everyone was on the same page to avoid any hiccups.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived, she was there every step of the way. She orchestrated a fun wedding rehearsal and on the day of the wedding was off to take care of every imaginable detail! Our wedding was truly PERFECT! Our family and friends still can't stop talking about how amazing our special day was! Johnell was one of the main reasons why everything went so smoothly and I cannot recommend Clearly Classy Events enough!!

Johnell was AMAZING! I had a small wedding of around 75 people and I think my wedding party was about 25 people. My wedding was at Twin Creeks Country Club in Cedar Park. Johnell was at every meeting with me and with me living in two cities it was a huge help. The day of the wedding went perfect. Johnell and two staff members from her team were there and made sure everything was perfect! I'm sure I was a pain because I kept going up to see how things were going but I didn't need to. When I did my first walk through all I could was cry. It was honestly EVERYTHING I could have EVER dreamed of. The final touches that were done were perfect. I always thought I wouldn't want a wedding planner because I am a very controlling and do it myself kind of person but it was the best choice I ever made. I interviewed three other wedding planners and didn't click with them. It took one phone call with Johnell and I booked her right away. Thank you so much for making my special day perfect! I will for sure use you for any other events that I have!
Johnell is amazing. We almost didn't have a wedding due to flooding/rain fall. She kept every vendor under control and informed of the situation up until the moment that our venue was still a go! She showed up and had to handle some things by herself since her assistants (they were caught in bad road conditions) and she was amazing! She took an almost bad situation and turned it into the memorable one we wanted and made sure everything perfect! Thank you Johnell!
My daughter Brianna wanted to get married at Camp Lucy from the moment she saw Ian's Chapel and the grounds. She had 6 months only to plan her wedding the wanted to be married by the end of 2015. She lives in Dallas and I, brides mother, live in California. I was referred to Johnell by one of Camp Lucy's vendors. We did not have a chance to meet until the Wednesday before the wedding but she was kind enough to answer all my emails. The day before the wedding Dripping Springs got 16 inches of rain within 1 hour and keep raining through the night and morning, roads where closed due to flooding and no passable roads were open. I saw my daughters heart breaking as we had to make a decision. Johnell asked what we wanted to do. My daughter wanted to be married at Camp Lucy , she said she would make that happen and do all possible and SHE DID. We got there 1 hour before the ceremony and she had to work the event on her own because her staff couldn't make it through but SHE DID and Camp Lucy Staff, WHIM catering and crew they all made it happen for her. It was a beautiful event and Johnell from Clearly Classy Events YOU ROCK. You made my daughters day so beautifully romantic I can't thank you enough. I highly recommend Johnell she understands what it takes to make the day magical for bride and groom. She works well with all the vendors and keeps everything going. Thank you Johnell and Clearly Classy Events.

Clearly Classy Events is 100% top notch.
From the beginning, my husband and I interviewed planners and Johnell (planner and owner) was at the top of the list by far. Since the venue wasn't a traditional venue, from day one she had to hound people to figure out how to book the place and get vendors there, as they prefer all of their own vendors, and we preferred otherwise. She has a "take no shit" attitude, which is exactly what I needed and what we needed for the wedding party and guests on the day of; she is a true cat wrangler. She was extremely flexible and easy to work with, which made things so much better for us, especially with the constant communication!
Johnell's assistant, Jessica, is also amazing, and is always quick to respond and help in Johnell's absence.
I had the Princess Package and I wouldn't change that for anything, as it made my experience pretty easy and seamless. I wanted as much help as possible and wanted everything done for me, in true Princess style.
10 thumbs up, I would hire Clearly Classy for any event, not just a wedding.

Clearly Classy Events was by far the most important part of making the whole wedding planning and day run smoothly. Johnell was there for anything and everything no matter how big or small. She thought of things that you wouldn't even believe and made sure everyone from vendors to the wedding party and the families were taken care of. She was fun and easy to talk to but knew how to get the job done and always made me feel like everything was perfect. Johnell and her staff were right there ready to pitch in and made the most beautiful and budget friendly wedding turn into an amazing and awesome event. Thank you guys so much!!
We had our wedding at the Hideout on the Horseshoe which was absolutely amazing!!Not only was the venue perfect & beautiful but very accommodating. Johnell, Patrick & the rest of the Hideout team were all so very sweet & professional. Not once did I have to lift a finger or worry about a thing. ( which is nice on a stressful day like that) Johnell was so organized and direct. I had a huge/drunk wedding party that she was able to handle with no problem. I highly recommend her for any wedding or event you might need. I can't thank them enough for making my special day PERFECT!!!!
I am so thankful that we chose Johnell at Clearly Classy Events to plan our wedding. The princess package was a must. My fiance and I are both working professionals and needed someone who could alleviate the stress and handle the details so we could make the final decisions and enjoy our special wedding day. Johnell listened to all of our requests, and made top-notch suggestions that satisfied all of our criteria, kept us on track, and fit the budget. All of Johnell's professional connections and recommendations were outstanding - the caterer, the florist, the DJ, the officiant, and the photographer! We actually started the planning process rather late, but Johnell made sure that everything about our day went smoothly -- it was perfect!!
Johnell and her team at Clearly Classy Events were such a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. In fact, my piece of advice to all brides now is "get a wedding planner!"
After getting engaged, my fiance and I had a general idea of what we wanted for our wedding, but the prospect of actually handling all the logistics was daunting--even though I manage complex projects professionally. Based on the recommendation of a friend, I called Johnell, and we had a conversation about our vision--which basically boiled down to "a party where we happen to get married...and also really good food".
Johnell and her team took so much of the guesswork and stress out of the rest of the planning because of their established relationships with a variety of vendors and their general knowledge of the industry.
Rather than presenting me with a ton of options to choose from, Johnell would present one or two options and let me decide--and then my work would be done. I often joked that I felt like CEO of the wedding because I would just make the big decisions and let other people worry about executing.
Because I am a project manager myself, I was always asking Johnell where we stood with respect to different tasks and how we were doing on our timeline. And Johnell always responded in a positive and timely manner--even if my concerns wouldn't be relevant for months. Though I know she and her team were often quite busy, the level of attention I received often made me wonder if I was their only client!
Also please know that Johnell and her team are equipped to handle potentially difficult situations extremely well. Gluten-free, dairy-free bride? No problem. The bride doesn't really get along with her family but still wants them to feel included--got it. You live in a different city? No worries. Anything and everything that came up was handled so well, and in the end we absolutely had the wedding we dreamed of.
Our Perfect wedding would not have been possible without Johnell and her team. Hands down...Amazing!
Johnell and her team are absolutely amazing! They were lovely to work with and everything I wanted was done exactly how I had asked. They made our wedding day perfect and my husband and I were amazed at how well everything flowed on our wedding day. That was all thanks to Johnell and her team! Johnell and her team will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and have everything you need. She and her team are so responsive; I never had to wait to hear back from them on any question I had or anything I needed. Johnell has been an amazing friend and wedding coordinator since we hired her back in October of 2013, for my November 2014 wedding that just happened. What this lady did for our event was nothing short of the five stars you see above. The lights apparently were rigged incorrectly, and the breaker box switches kept flipping off every 5 minutes because of it. WE NEVER NOTICED because Johnell stationed one of her interns to flip them back on the second they went off! She understands the time and effort and love we all pour into our weddings, and goes out of her way to make your dreams a reality all while gently keeping you to your budget. She also adapted to my wish to make the wedding as eco-friendly as possible! I would hire her again for any event!
Johnell from Clearly Classy was amazing!! There is no way we could have planned out wedding without her. I was never one of those little girls who dreamed of her future wedding, so when I got engaged, I had no idea what I wanted. Johnell took the few ideas and desires we had and completely handled the rest and planned the most beautiful wedding we could have imagined. She made the whole process as stress-free as possible and made sure we got everything we wanted. If you're at all stressed about wedding planning or not sure where to start, I can't recommend Clearly Classy more highly.
I got married in San Antonio this past July and I had the pleasure of working with Johnell in the wedding planning process. I knew I had to find a planner; for one I didn't know the first thing about planning a wedding, and two I live just outside of Washington D.C. which would make find vendors on my own hard.
When I first called Johnell and explained I was looking for a planner, she had a moment and asked me some questions about what I had in mind for our wedding. After that half hour conversation, I knew I wanted Johnell to plan our wedding. She was so professional and when I contacted her references they all said the same thing that they loved working with Johnell.
I explained that I was going to need a lot of hand holding and went with her princess package. She has great vendor connections and found us just about all of our vendors and they were all so great to work with and reasonably priced. If we had an idea for something to include in the wedding or reception we would just let Johnell know and she would make it happen.
The weekend of the wedding I had such a huge weight off my shoulder because I didn't have to worry about anything. I know Johnell had everything under control and everything was going to be fine. I had a schedule of the day of events that let me know what was happening when from morning until the end of the reception.
She had 2 assistants with her the day of the wedding and everyone was so great to work with. Everyone had such an incredible time and I could not have planned this wedding without Johnell. She had so many good ideas that we used and she was so fun and easy to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend Johnell or any of the ladies at Clearly Classy Events if you are looking for help planning your big day.
Johnell and her team do a great job with Day of Coordination! You won't be let down. They're on time and prepared. The gals were sweet and always asking if I needed anything :)No drama with this company- really friendly and take their business seriously. They aren't shy in the face of any issues and really listen to what you feel your needs are going to be on your wedding day. Johnell ran our rehearsal like a champ, too. My wedding party was thoroughly impressed with how quick and painless the rehearsal was.
Johnell and her team were a group of lifesavers! At first through planning my wedding, I wasn't sure if hiring a coordinator would be worth it. I was so wrong!

Johnell was the wedding planner for my daughter's wedding June 21, 2014. This was my daughters dream wedding and Johnell helped make her dream come true! She took on the huge task of all of our requests and gathered and worked with all of the vendors needed from the custom designed invitations to the china and sequin linens to the flowers to the string quartet to the Cinderella horse drawn carriage and everything in between! Johnell made sure that nothing was ordered or confirmed without our approval. The wedding was absolutely beautiful! We could not have done it without her! The wedding took a year of planning and many meetings, and I know we have made a life long friend. I highly recommend Johnell as your wedding planner!

I cannot imagine what my daughter's wedding would have been like if we had not hired a professional day of coordinator. We could not be happier with the service we received from Johnell and her team. My friends and family are still telling me about how well run our wedding was compared to others they had been to. They commented on how organized everything was for such a large wedding (250-300).
Our outdoor wedding/reception required lots of coordination and "hands on" the days before and on our daughter's wedding day. And WOW, Clearly Classy did just that! They went above and beyond in providing coordination and hands on, worry free service and expertise. The day of the wedding went so smoothly, more so than I ever imagined. Everyone and everything was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be. And if they weren't, Johnell made it happen! She arrived many hours before the 6:00 ceremony and stayed until all the tables and such were cleared. What a total relief. Jessica and her team provided exceptional service on my wedding day. Operating under a strict budget, I was unsure if having a wedding day coordinator was going to be possible, however I am beyond thankful I was able to have Clearly Classy Events be part of my day. I would have been absolutely lost without them. Jessica and her team executed my wedding vision perfectly, which was no easy feat considering the light drizzle that insisted on hovering throughout my entire outside wedding. Though I was in panic, Jessica and her team kept me calm by ensuring that despite the rain,they would get all of my decor and tables set up and keep the ceremony chairs dry, then sent me on my way to get dressed. They kept the entire ceremony and reception running smoothly and all of my decor looked absolutely beautiful. I cannot praise them enough on their hard work and dedication to making my day perfect. Johnell and her assistant Krista were perfect for us! I wanted a wedding day filled with as little stress and myself dealing with as little personal details as possible and that's exactly what I got. They were sure to check in with myself and my groom often to make sure everything was taken care of and even went as far as picking up our wedding cake after a delivery mix up. They truly stayed on top of everything right until the very end and I couldn't thank them enough!
I was extremely impressed with the ladies of Clearly Classy. On my wedding day, I had one planner and two interns there to help things run smoothly. Having these three ladies on hand was fantastic. My mom, my sister (MOH), and I all got to enjoy the night and not worry about the details. On your big day, you deserve outstanding service, and that is what Clearly Classy provides. Johnell (our planner) picked up on subtle cues throughout the night from guests, service people, etc. to keep thing going until the final send-off.
Johnell came to our rescue so many times throughout my daughters special day. There are so many things that you can't predict and you need someone there who can keep things flowing smoothly while you take in the memories. For example, in her "Wedding First Aid Kit" was a sewing kit that she used to bustle the dress. What made us so happy was the fact that she even drove all the way down to Corpus Christi for the wedding. She is a pleasure to work with and if worth every penny! Clearly the right choice!

upon getting engaged, i initially began trying to try to plan the wedding myself. i quickly realized that it was going to be a full time job and that i was not nearly educated enough on what needed to be done. however, i was just a "normal" bride - did i really need to hire a wedding planner? it seemed like such a lavish expense and something only rich people did.
i initially met with johnell over a cup of coffee, expressing to her my needs and fears. almost immediately, i was in love with her personality and her approach, and knew that i could trust her with this special event and that she had my best interests at heart. ultimately, johnell MORE than paid for herself, whether it was the vendor rates she secured because of her relationships and experience, or the peace of mind that she gave me. she knew every single thing that needed to be done, which company to go with to get the best service and rate, and was there for me throughout the entire planning process and day of.
i can't imagine what the process would have been like if i had not hired johnell. the wedding was such a success and i know that it was 99% her hard work and expertise that contributed to it. i could go on and on (and on) about johnell. she is absolutely wonderful and helped me have a very classy, fun wedding.
I was the Maid of Honor in my Best Friend's Wedding in Austin, TX last weekend and I cannot say enough good things about Clearly Classy Events and Johnell Huebner.
The Wedding was held at the French Legation Museum so it was 100% outdoors, in 100+ degree heat, and Johnell was there early and stayed late herself to set up and tear down. Everything was coordinated precisely and went off seamlessly allowing the family and guests to simply relax and enjoy a gorgeous event.
Johnell was a trusted advisor when it came to vendor selection and management, which gave my friend a chance to have the wedding she imagined at a price that fit her budget. Her recommendations were phenomenal - from catering, to photography, to misting fan rental - there was no detail that was missed.
At the wedding, Johnell and I talked extensively (she is an absolute delight to be around), and she let me know that when the day comes for my own wedding that she would be more than happy to make the trip to NC -- which is an offer that I will definitely be taking her up on!
I relied heavily on online reviews during my planning, so I can't think of a better place to tell Johnell and Clearly Classy how thankful I am for everything! My husband and I were planning our wedding from out of state, and being able to visit Austin only once prior to the big day, I couldn't imagine bringing everything together in the end without her help. I had absolute confidence that Johnell and her team could take my vision (and notes and emails) and create a perfect wedding day, and that confidence for me was worth every penny! The entire event flowed beautifully. I threw out a couple little plan changes during the day and she made sure they were seemlessly executed. I don't know all the behind the scenes details of that day, but I do know Johnell was also a big help to my parents! As a bride completely unfamiliar with the destination I chose, I feel lucky to have had Johnell and Clearly Classy on board to make the day as perfect as I had hoped it would be.
Johnell and her team helped us a lot in making our dream wedding into a realization. She didn’t mind the smallness of our wedding to begin with and was willing to work with our tight budget. She was very generous with her time from planning to executing. She’s very organized and detailed oriented. We’re very thankful to have her plan our wedding. She has great connections to vendors, which makes it easy for her to negotiate excellent deals. Overall, we’re very pleased with the entire process and would strongly recommend her for any event (big or small). One piece of advice I will give any bride (now that I've had my wedding) is that getting a coordinator is hands down worth the cost. I can't imagine how stressed I would have been on the day of if I had not had the help of Cara from Clearly Classy Events. She was there the whole time letting me know what I needed to be doing and where I needed to be and everything went off without a hitch. I'm so glad I used Clearly Classy and I highly recommend them to any bride!
I've met plenty of coordinators in my day due to being in lots of weddings. NO ONE compares to Johnell with Clearly Classy. She is always a few steps ahead, is calm and collected- even given ornery groomsmen, and kept the day going great! Leading up to the big day, Johnell and her team were always a call, text or email away to answer any question we may have had! I know I have said this many times to many people but I am so lucky to be able to call her friend- not just someone we paid for services! You will not go wrong with this rockstar or her team!!!!

I planned most of my wedding myself but when it came to the day of details I wanted a wedding day coordinator to be in charge so that my family and friends could sit back and enjoy the day. Clearly Classy Events filled that role perfectly. I was stress free on my wedding day and everything came together so seamlessly. After the wedding I found out how many little bumps the wedding day coordinator and her assistant smoothed out for me. My wedding party, family and friends raved about how helpful and kind they were. I highly recommend hiring clearly classy events to coordinate your day of details. They plays a huge role in making my wedding day wonderful. Johnell and her team at Clearly Classy Events planned my destination wedding from arrival to departure. She not only orchestrated the event, but planned every detail making it a special, unique experience for everyone that participated. The best part about it was that I didn't have to worry or make all the decisions. I also didn't have to answer questions about day of events, because everything was directed to Johnell. She arranged adventures for the guests and included details such as welcome baskets in each of the rooms, plan of events, and everything in between. I have also had the opportunity to work with Johnell on political fundraisers and everything is always organized, creative and top notch. I highly recommend hiring Johnell and Clearly Classy Events for any type of event planning. You definitely get more than what you pay for when you hire this pretty perfect planner!
I haven't even finished writing up my thank you notes because I have to make sure that the ladies at Clearly Classy are given their proper thanks from myself and my new husband first! I initially met with Johnell since Cara, who would end up being my day of coordinator was out of town. Johnell met up with me here in San Antonio and made the drive (in traffic). I thought Johnell was sweet and understood exactly why I needed a planner. It's funny, when you're doing so much DIY, you think you can plan all by yourself too, but that is INCORRECT :) I also must admit that I had previously hired a wedding planner here in San Antonio and I was just so dissatisfied and started to almost panic when deciding so close to the wedding date that we needed to fine a pro!
I met with Cara before the wedding initially at the venue and she walked me through everything step by step and put me at ease, which then put my husband at ease, naturally! Cara was there to answer any questions I had, silly or not silly and was so comforting throughout the whole wedding planning process. She gave me opinions and took to heart everything that I said about how I wanted the venue to look the day of. Cara really made me feel like she truly cared about how everything would look and took into consideration all of my thoughts.
Cara was wonderful with my family and instructing everyone at the rehearsal and when the day of the wedding came, she was on her a-game, no doubt! I can honestly say that I would not have changed a thing about our wedding day and Cara and the ladies at Clearly Classy Events are to thank for that! They knew how important that even the smallest details were to me and they made sure that they stayed on top of all vendors, decorating and any possible venue issues. Without Cara and the ladies at Clear Classy Events, I have no doubt in my mind that I would have been as calm the day of my wedding and as thrilled over the results! One thing that I would like to complain about is that I didn't get my photographer to take a picture of Cara, myself and Josh just so that I could have even more special memories of that wonderful day.
My nephew was so nervous about having the job as usher and Cara went out of her way to explain his job and make sure everything was nice and clear before time to go and that really meant a lot.
What it really comes down to is, Cara, Johnell and the team at Clearly Classy are absolutely a bunch of Classy ladies who are professionals and they know what they're doing. I would hesitate to contact then again for any other events that came my way.
It's funny, I'm normally a control freak, but after meeting Cara, I had no problem with her taking the reins and letting her make things beautiful because I just knew that she would!
Cost wise....these gals are worth every time. Please, take it from me, you get what you pay for and you don't want to find that out the hard way by going with someone you're not comfortable with. This is the biggest day of your life! Splurge a little for something so important!

We came across Johnell and Clearly Classy Events while looking for a reception venue in San Antonio, TX. After talking to her on the phone some more we decided to work with Clearly Classy Events - a decision we would not regret.
Johnell truely understands what a bride wants and her professionalism even covinced my demanding fiance :-). All the vendors we talked to showed great respect for Johnell even though or maybe because she fiercely represents the interests of clients. She is very responsive to her clients' needs but more than once surprised us by getting things done before we even thought of them.
All you stressed out brides out there, if you want a Clearly Classy Event without the stress, give Johnell a call.
My husband and I came to Clearly Classy Events by a fortunate mishap. The company we originally contracted was not able to fulfill their contract. When they weren't able to coordinate our wedding, the owner suggested Johnelle and her team. In fact, she told us that if she were to get married again, Johnelle would be her first choice for coordinator. Quite an endorsement, don't you think?
I can't say enough good things about Johnelle and her team. For one thing, she was very flexible and willing to bend over backward to make meetings with us on the weekends. She listened to our wants and needs and helped us to achieve our dream within budget. Each step of the way, she was there to assist us. Johnelle was always just a phone call, text msg, or email away. As the wedding neared, she handed us off to one of her lead coordinators, Cara. When it came to the day-of, Cara was there with her day-of team. These girls were great! I didn't have to worry for a single minute about anything. My husband and I had some special requests for our wedding day and Cara made sure everything happened. Our family and friends had nothing but praise for Cara and her team, as well. Our wedding turned out more beautiful then we dreamed. These ladies do an outstanding job.
I hired Johnell based on the recommendation of our caterer for our wedding. She raved about Johnell and said that she'd worked with her a lot and that I would not be disappointed. She was so right!! From our first meeting, Johnell was all over every detail of our wedding. I tend to be a micromanager, but with Johnell, I was at ease and was actually able to enjoy most aspects of planning my wedding without getting stressed out about the details. Anytime I needed anything to be done, I would just text or email her and then put it out of my mind because it all got done well. She made the planning easy. She also has lots of connections and was able to get us great deals with our vendors.
I have no words to even begin to describe how happy my husband and I were with our wedding day! Johnell and two of her team members were there for our entire ceremony and reception. One of the coordinators actually came to the hotel that my bridesmaids and I were getting ready at to make sure hair and makeup went smoothly. There was a small issue with some of the flowers missing at the ceremony, but I never knew about it until the next day because Johnell fixed it. My new husband and I were greeted by Johnell, her team and the catering manager as we arrived at the reception venue with cocktails and appetizers. It was the perfect start to our super fun, stress-free reception. Our guests and especially our families were really impressed with our ceremony and reception. This was in large part thanks to Johnell and all her experience and attention to detail. She had worked with all our vendors before and knew exactly what to expect. She is worth her weight in gold, platinum, silver, and all other precious metals combined!
Johnell and her staff are incredible!!! She goes above and beyond to make you feel like you are the most important bride in the world. I highly recommend her and her team without reservation!!!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Johnell and her services to create a memorable wedding day for our daughter! She helped us the day of the wedding, and delivered an A+ job. She was straight forward, flexible, take charge, and creative with coming up with solutions to all details of the day. I felt completely comfortable with her expertise in running the day, which enabled me to really and truly relax and enjoy the wedding ceremony and reception! She and Chelsea (her assistant) were amazing and worked with us from 10 am through the cleanup after the reception (11:45 pm). Johnell and Chelsea were resourceful, respectful, and so competent. We had an emergency 911 call the morning of the wedding at the venue, and Chelsea took charge to direct the EMS to our location. Their professionalism was evident in the way they handled this crazy extenuating circumstance! From that instance forward, I knew we were in good hands. Both my husband and I would recommend Johnell and her team with 100% confidence and approval! They were amazing!
I could not be happier with the service Johnell and her assistant provided at my wedding. I used Clearly Classy for day-of wedding coordinating, but was quite pleased with the service in the few weeks leading up to my wedding. I felt like I got my money's worth since she provided great value and recommendations leading up to the big day.
While I got ready in the bride's room she handled every small detail. When it was finally time for me to see the venue set up NOTHING was out of place. We were able to stick to our timeline, which kept guests happy with food and drink in hand while the ceremony space was flipped for the reception space.
We were playing our grand exit by ear a little bit and it required flagging down a pedi-cab and making sure he showed back up at the right time. Even this "spontaneous" item went off without a hitch.
In short, I could not have asked for more from Johnell and Clearly Classy Events and was very pleased with the service. I would recommend her to any friend getting married.
We were lucky enough to get Johnell as our day-of wedding coordinator through our weekend package with Hideout on the Horseshoe. She was helpful in answering all of my questions leading up to the wedding, and was even better on the day of. I honestly did not know the value of having a wedding planner until my wedding day. She was putting out fires left and right, and when it looked like it was going to rain on our outdoor ceremony, I wasn't even stressed because I knew she would handle the back up plan. There were missing corsages, missing wine, and probably a list of other things I didn't even know about because she and her assistant handled all of it so efficiently. If you're looking for a way to enjoy your wedding day without having to worry about all of the details, hire Clearly Classy Events!
I only used Clearly Classy to help with my wedding rehearsal and day of to stay within my budget and it was a great investment. Laura kept us on track for the rehearsal since everyone wanted to chat, and made the wedding day nearly stress free for me. They set up all of the decorations, coordinated with all of the vendors, and then made the ceremony and reception run smoothly. Without her we would have never made it around to cutting the cake since we were constantly bombarded by well wishers. She was able to stay in the background but always available and always nicely telling us what needed to be done next. I'm no wedding pro so she truly was a lifesaver and definately saved some of my relationships with friends and family that would have spent hours prior to setting everything up and since they're not experts I'm sure I wouldn't have been as pleased with the job that they did. She helped pack everything up afterward and made sure that it was all returned to me. Thanks to Laura for keeping me sane so that I could enjoy my day!
Clearly Classy's services were included as part of our wedding package at the Hideout on the Horseshoe. Johnell met with us months in advance to go over the big picture and address any questions we had. You could tell immediately that she was experienced and good at what she did. This was such a relief to us...we had a million other projects and things on our mind.
Day of coordination was flawless. Johnell and her team helped with so many details and set up. I felt completely comfortable putting my vision in her hands to execute. The flow of events also went as planned. It is no easy task to keep my group on time and in place but they managed.
The hard work by Clearly Classy Events allowed us to truly enjoy every bit of our special day. We are so thankful to them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any couple.
