Wow! Where do I even start. The venue is gorgeous and is one of the few places in the Bay Area that can hold a medium to large wedding with a direct water view without stepping on the beach- this was our main draw to this location but far exceeded our expectations. We initially worked with Jess who was fantastic but she moved on to a different job earlier this year. Grace Owens took over and blew us away. She made the transition easy and made sure we were all on the same page with everything we had spoken about with Jess. I showed her my vision of what I wanted the day to look like and we were both excited! She was easy to work with and kept us updated and various points. They have a set menu for food, but did allow customization for our appetizers! We did not hire a wedding planner as my mom and I planned everything, but Grace and Dan (Banquet manager) went above and beyond wedding weekend. They helped setup the room how I envisioned (from folding the napkins a specific way to setting up my sweetheart table based on a Pinterest picture and everything in between) and made my fairy tale wedding come true! I could have not asked for better people to work with. And the staff was such a delight. Although we made it to our cocktail hour, we were trying to thank everyone and didn't have time to eat before our sunset pictures and one of the servers saw this, stopped us asked what we wanted to eat. He grabbed a large plate of it, brought it to the lobby so that we could down it real quick, and told us to leave it when we were done. These are just examples of things staff did that were above and beyond. It wasn't just isolated towards us, we got multiple compliments from our guests that staff was very accommodating and professional. If you want a place that has a gorgeous view, excellent people to work with that can be trusted, staff that is professional and delightful to everyone, and can make your wedding dreams come true book with the Marriott! Not to mention the perks of having your friends and family stay at the hotel and getting to celebrate with them the entire weekend! Seriously, can't speak highly enough- thank you to everyone at the Marriott (especially Grace and Dan)!
Jimmy, our wedding coordinator, was AMAZING!!! We were constantly blown away by how he went out of his way to provide everything we needed! Our day was perfect, thanks to him! The venue is beautiful, the food was delicious, and all the staff were friendly & accommodating! We cannot say enough good things about them! Thank you to everyone who played a role in our wedding!
Jena Gonzales is what makes this a 5 star review! She made everything amazing and it was like she already knew exactly what I wanted without having to say it. The marriot was where we had our cocktail hour and reception and I can honestly say my wedding would not have been so wonderful without her and her staff.
We had our ceremony on the beach in Sand Key Park, then our reception in the large ballroom at the Marriott. Everything was absolutely perfect thanks to a beautiful venue and superb work by the on-site wedding coordinator.
Sand Key is the lower-key, prettier portion of Clearwater Beach. It's also extremely narrow, which means that although the Marriott is on the east side of the island (facing the harbor rather than the Gulf of Mexico), it's also literally across the street from the beach (and the Gulf). You get a beautiful view of the harbor and easy access to the beach for your guests--but at a MUCH lower cost than the hotels that are right on the beach. We shopped around, and this was by far the best deal for a 100 person wedding on the beach near Tampa Airport.
Lauren, the on-site coordinator, is super-friendly, super-organized, and super-helpful. I cannot recommend her enough.
Lauren and the team at the Marriott could not have done a better job. Lauren put every detail we talked about into action and was so helpful and organized! From the moment we arrived at the hotel everyone was so friendly and the staff was excellent. The food at our cocktail hour and reception was the best wedding food EVER. I recommend the Filet Mignon and the Florida Grouper which both come from the award winning WaterColors restaurant in the hotel. They were delicious!! The Marriott exceeded my expectations in every way! Thank you!!
The Clearwater Beach Marriott did an amazing job and I am so happy I used them for my wedding last April. The staff especially the coordinator Lauren were very professional, nice and accommodating to all my guests and went above and beyond to help make my wedding truly exceptional. Everything I wanted was done and the wedding I pictured came to life because of the attention to detail Lauren provided. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone, a great experience!
We had an amazing reception at this Marriott! We were treated like royalty and had an excellent experience. All of the staff was superior.
Overall, our experience was wonderful with the hotel! We had the pleasure of working with both coordinators there, and they were nothing but helpful. My only problem was at check out, our room was supposed to be complimentary, but we were charged, and it has been a little bit of a hassle getting this resolved. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any bride!
very nice but very expensive for 100 guests!!
Events Coordinator, Desiree Jacobs was very easy and flexible to work with throughout the entire planning and preparation process, as well as the day before and of the wedding. The venue was average, the ceremony location on the veranda could have been a bit more dressed up and elaborate, but it worked for us. the reception hall was great and fit 120 comfortably with a dance floor.
I loved having my wedding and reception here. We got married on Nov. 6, 2010 and the weather was perfect. We were married at the poolside veranda overlooking the intercoastal waters. We then had our reception in the Sand Key ballroom. I have to say for once I actually enjoyed the wedding food, it was fantastic! The shrimp and scallops tempura were my husband and my favorite item on our menu. We used Desiree one of the coordinators on site and she made my life so easy. Her attention to detail and prompt replies to all my crazy questions really made things go so smooth the day of. Also, we had a great bartender named Yvette the day of the event and all my guests raved about her as well.
The site is also very nice for out of town guests. There is a boardwalk that connects the Marriott to some great restaurants and even a little food store. All of my guests walked to pick up beverages and even lunches, etc. No one rented cars they all took airport shuttles.
The Marriott was beautiful but the wedding catering department was disappointing. This was a destination wedding so we did alot of our planning through email. Once we arrived at the Marriott everything seemed like it was in order. The wedding planner sOur cocktail hour started 1/2 hr before it was supposed to and they ran out of food. Apparently they only make 5 pieces per person and serve butler style. If we would have been informed only 5 pieces were made we would have made adjustments so they didn't run out of food. When we asked to speak with the manager no one knew where she was. We also upgraded from prime rib to beef tenderloin and it was terrible. It was so over cooked it was unedible. Very disappointed especially since we spent the extra money. And last but not least there were no safes in the room and money was stolen from our room and a few of our guests rooms.
The staff was wonderful. The view was incredible.
