Certainly we always strive for perfection and while that doesn't always happen, circumstances at every event are different. The strings did not "forget" the exit song, they never got their queue to begin it. It is unclear why the officiant did not make the formal introduction, thereby alerting the strings that the couple was about to walk down the isle, but here again is the full explanation: Hello Samantha, I am the coordinator for Sonata Strings, the quartet that you hired for your wedding at the zoo. I wanted to personally write to apologize that you were not completely satisfied with their performance. Although I was personally unable to play for your wedding, I did have some communication with you at the beginning of the music selection process before Gayle Klaber took over as the leader of the quartet for your ceremony. I understand that the music for the recessional did not begin until you were part way down the aisle at the end. Gayle had been informed by the wedding coordinators at the zoo that you would be introduced after the kiss. Unfortunately, the officiant did not introduce you and because the guests were all standing, the quartet members could not see that you were already walking down the aisle. Unfortunately, this was an unforseen problem. The quartet feels badly and they did their best to rectify the situation by playing the music as soon as they realized that you had not been introduced and were already walking. Also, I understand that Moon River was supposed to be played during your tree ceremony. There were numerous emails back and forth regarding your music and when reading back through all of them today, I noticed your request for Moon River. Unfortunately, I don't think this particular email was noticed by Gayle and was subsequently not included in the list of other music requests. Again, I apologize for this oversight. Our Sonata Strings players are committed to making each performace top notch and are very dissappoined when something is not perfect. I am very sorry that your ceremony music wasn't everything that you had hoped it would be. We hope that we will have the pleasure to perform for an event for you in the future.
