BEWARE! After spending weeks BEGGING the Dir. of Sales, Jerry, to call me to get a quote on the venue so that I could come tour for my wedding, I was given a reasonable price for m...y intimate wedding. I then spent another several weeks after touring the venue BEGGING for the contract to secure my date (which already had a mix up previously). Finally, after 7 weeks from initial contact, we had a contract signed & in place. We thought the issues we dealt with up front would be over since we were now being turned over to the EC, but it didn’t take long for us to figure out that it was just the beginning of the issues to come. The EC was young & inexperienced. I’ve been told by the GM of McLemore, Tom, & the GM of The Creag, Victor, that she didn’t have a good support system & she was a people pleaser so she would just try to please in the moment without knowing what to do long-term. However, this is something many of the staff at McLemore have an issue with. THEY DON’T FOLLOW THROUGH. The original Chef of the Creag resigned in March, the week of our scheduled tasting – postponing our tasting to a month before our wedding when they hired a new chef – Chef Michael – literally, the only saving grace McLemore has to offer. The EC & her Boss, the F&B Dir., both left &/or were fired – a month out from our wedding. The GM of The Creag, Victor, reached out to me when I emailed to confirm a meeting the F&B Dir. who had just been let go – Victor & I had several phone meetings to review everything & get him up to speed on what had been done up to this point as he was having to jump in & save the day. I actually really appreciated him, he seemed very competent, was responsive – he gave me confidence everything would be okay. I sent him a full list of everything we discussed, confirmed, etc. Everything that should be on his “BEO” – we even had a staffing plan. When we showed up the day before the wedding as scheduled to begin preparations, only 1 person was there from the staffing plan & they didn’t even know we were coming. The pavilion was a mess! I had emailed Victor a few days prior asking if the fireplace could be cleaned out before we arrived, I was told no problem – it would be done before we got there - nope. The bathrooms were disgusting – there was still urine in the toilets from an event from the weekend! I had to ask 3 times to clean the fireplace – it didn’t happen until the next day. My husband & I spent the morning of our wedding cleaning the pavilion & trying to setup. The one person that was there, Kyle – our event “captain” would just disappear leaving us to do everything & would ask me when I insisted on something if it would “make or break” my event. I went to talk to McLemore the day after to express my disappointment – because the venue was not prepared for us, not only was I late getting ready, but my mom was too. She was so busy trying to get everything put together that she almost didn’t make it to the wedding – which means she didn’t even get to help me get ready – a moment I will never get back. Basically it all comes down to money – McLemore has stated that they will never do an event as cheap as ours again. They treated us horribly because we didn’t give them loads of money – I told them how inappropriate it was to even say that to me because first off, I didn’t beg for the number they gave me, they proposed it & I accepted. We were so hopeful that our wedding would be a day to remember, but we just want to forget it all.
