We had the good fortune of booking our wedding at Cobblestone in early March 2020, right before everything went nuts. We delayed the wedding by a year, from spring 2021 to spring 2022, and Cobblestone Farm was very accommodating of our new date. Connor was incredibly helpful in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, while Cobblestone was trying to figure out how to host events safely, and guidelines were shifting due to COVID levels. They kept us in the loop about their COVID restrictions and helped us plan a safe, fun day at their spectacular venue! The outdoor space was lovely, welcoming, and unpretentious, with so many unique spots to hold the ceremony, take pictures, and set up an outdoor happy hour. And our guests got a kick out of the geese :) The barn is absolutely perfect for a wedding--it has the rustic charm of a barn but it's totally modern in terms of amenities. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and they really went above and beyond to help us plan our day. As someone who grew up in the neighborhood and spent time at Cobblestone when I was a kid, I'm so glad we got married at this beautiful gem of local history.
The staff at Cobblestone Farms are the absolute worst people in the world to deal with for this life changing event. My daughter’s wedding was scheduled for 9/11/2021. On 8/23/2021, they sent an email implementing new very strict covid protocols that pushed my daughter and her future husband to change EVERY EVENT DETAIL to have the event take place outside. Just 4 days later, on 8/27/2021 they received a second email, CANCELLING the entire event. Cobblestone personnel CANCELLED their wedding after the details to move everything outdoors had been successfully changed, just 15 days before their wedding date of 9/11/2021.
Not only did they cancel the event 15 days before it was scheduled to happen, they did it by email on a Friday just before 5pm. No phone call, and at best a pathetic explanation as to why they felt justified to do so. The people that work at Cobblestone are selfish, unprofessional, and should not be employed at such a venue if they care so little for the community or customers they are serving.
If you are thinking about having a wedding or event at an outdoor site in the Ann Arbor area, look anywhere else as Cobblestone Farm is a nightmare to deal with.
Everyone that works at cobblestone farm was so helpful when ever I had Question. This is such a nice and cozy reception/ ceremony space and it fit my needs perfectly perfect for any diy wedding! We added extra lights but in my opinion the space itself is nice enough to add minimum decorations to make it your own!
Cobblestone Farm was the perfect venue for both the reception and ceremony. We loved that we could bring in any vendor for food, and how reasonably priced it was for Ann Arbor. There's so many great spots for pictures. I would recommend this place to everyone!
Cobblestone farm is a wonderful event space. The space is available for 15 hours at a respectable rate. All of the vendors we hired (caterer, photographer, DJ) were familiar with the space, making our planning and coordinating much easier. There were set times to do tours and visit the sight so we could test our decorations and discuss our plans with the staff. The entire staff was available for questions and assisted with the setup in advance. We were able to set up games and a tent outside but had plenty of space indoors to eat and dance. We had a delightful experience at this space and would highly recommend it for a wedding reception.
We had our winter ceremony in the barn and it was perfect! A beautiful venue and we got to bring in the decorations we wanted. The staff were very helpful in thinking about what could work.
Cobblestone was perfect. We had our ceremony and reception for about 130 guests in the barn, with plenty of room for a dance floor. The fee cannot be beat. The staff were easy to communicate with, helpful (especially with changes in the floorplan), and incredibly pleasant. Highly recommend!
Our wedding at Cobblestone was a dream come true! This venue is absolutely beautiful, and super affordable! You do have to bring in pretty much everything, so if you’re into a DIY wedding Cobblestone is a great choice. The staff was there to supervise and make sure the building was in good shape, but they don’t help with much else. We had a lot of friends and family to help out, so everything turned out perfect for us. I would do it all again in a heartbeat!
Had our wedding there on 12-17-2017. Everything turned out beautifully. Jessica & Terry were so easy to work with. They always answered in a timely manner and I absolutely loved it. Would definitely recommend as they have reasonable prices and are so welcoming!
We had a perfect experience at Cobblestone Farm. All staff were friendly and helpful throughout the process and were available to answer any and all questions we had. The venue is beautiful and did not need much in the way of decorating - some simple hanging lanterns along with our table centerpieces were plenty to make it look elegant! We loved having indoor and outdoor space all in one location. We highly recommend Cobblestone Farm!
We just had our wedding here 2 days ago. The grounds in fall are absolutely gorgeous! The guests loved the animals in the small barn! It is a beer and wine venue only, but that did not hinder the good time had at all! One thing we liked is that we could use any vendor we wanted. They do, however, provide you with a vendor list if you need suggestions. Our wedding was beautiful!
When we signed the contract for Cobblestone, it was the middle of winter with a foot of snow and I have to admit that I was apprehensive. Seeing the venue the day of my July wedding, however, was a completely different story. Cobblestone gave me the wedding of my dreams! While it is a lot of extra work and coordination compared to a banquet hall or a golf course, my bridal party and family had so much fun getting together the day before to set up and make the place our own. Our pictures are beautiful! As long as you follow the little rules they have, you will be nothing but happy.
Cobblestone farm is a beautiful venue and a great price especially with the chairs and tables included. My set-up crew was a little upset that the city was allowing people to tour while they were setting up. At the end of the night, I was carrying boxes down the stairs in a wedding gown, because if I used the elevator for 'freight' I'd lose my $300 deposit. At least the lady at the venue helped carry stuff and found me a box to put things in. You may want to add extra signage to direct people to the bathrooms.
We had such a lovely time at our wedding at this venue. Our only hiccup was with tent rental and pick-up. Otherwise they were great value for the price.
The barn and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. So glad we placed our deposit in time - spots fill quickly!
Cobblestone Farm is in Ann Arbor, MI. It is a large venue with beautiful scenery. One thing I loved about this venue was that they allow you to use any vendors with them; any caterer you want in particular. Many locations require you to use their caterer, not Cobblestone. You're free to do whatever you want.
Staff members are very friendly and were always helpful if I needed anything or had questions/concerns.
This venue is booked every single weekend of the year, and about 18 months in advance. So getting a date there can be tricky and has to be done well in advance. This may be annoying to some, but it worked out very well for me. Booked my date almost exactly one year in advance.
It's a bit pricey for just a venue. Nothing is included other than tables and chairs and the space itself.
Overall though, Cobblestone Farm is fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to be married!
Great location, absolutely beautiful!
I recently had my wedding here on May 17th, 2013. It was perfect. I was one of the lucky brides who had an moutdoor wedding in May, in Michigan with 75 degree sunshine and no rain. The location was perfect, ceremony and reception at the same location. The price was reasonable and you could pick whichever vendors you wanted. The only thing we had an issue with was our supervisor the night of our wedding. When we needed her to turn down the lights or had questions about little things, she was nowhere to be found. And when someone found her, she was in the bathroom on her cell phone or outside on her cell phone. Also, we pre-paid for an extra hour at the farm in case we needed it but ended up not needing it and they didnt refund it. Im not sure if they will but we hope they do, because in the contract it says nothing about no refunds when you purchase additional hours. Overall, great expreience, minus the supervisor being MIA.
All of my guests commented on how nice it was there! It was a very hot day for late April and they didn't have any air conditioning on so the people sitting in the loft area were very hot! But after dinner everyone came down to the main floor and it was fine. The grounds are a great place for pictures. We have pictures of us petting the animals they have there!!
We had both our ceremony and reception at Cobblestone in January. It was absolutely perfect. We chose Cobblestone because it is kind of a "blank slate" venue. We were able to bring in our own caterer, DJ, cake baker, etc. It was great not to have to work with a preset list of vendors. If you are planning on an open bar, be aware that Cobblestone does not allow hard alcohol, but they do permit wine and beer. We had approximately 75 people at our wedding, and it was the perfect size - big enough so that we could spread out our tables, but small enough that it didn't feel like an empty space. I would highly recommend it!
Cobblestone was a really great venue for us. The perfect setting for our rustic themed wedding. You can also choose your own caterer so you aren't stuck with overpriced food that comes with a typical reception venue. At first it seems there are a lot of picky rules but it was no problem for us and we got our deposit back. I would highly recommend it. It's a beautiful venue.
My husband and I were very pleased with the staff at Cobblestone Farms. They were helpful with planning and setting up the table and chair arrangement, which was quite a task with a full barn of people. Everyone we spoke with was willing to give advice based on experience and what has worked in the past. They were flexible and very accommodating.
The only thing that I didn't like was you only had the venue for 10 hours, which included set up and clean up. You needed to purchase additional hours ahead of time. This made it difficult as I didn't know how long it would take to decorate. But overall it was cheaper than other venues I had looked into.
Cobblestone is a perfect spot for the Barn Wedding. It's an interesting space with a loft level and the entire floor is wood, so the whole place can become the dance floor! The bathrooms are not very nice looking, but they are clean. The venue sets your tables and chairs based on your floor plan but provides NO HELP - so either hire it out or prepare a team because you have a 10-hour rental for your day-of ONLY. Additional hours last-minute cost $250/hr which is significant since renting for 10 hours costs $1100.
There is beer and wine only and they WILL take away your security deposit if your guests bring any liquor - they even checked in the parking lot!
It's a gorgeous spot, I love my photos, but you have to be clear with your guests that there is no liquor allowed, and be prepared with a team for set-up and tear-down to stay within your time limits as those are strict as well. It's a bargain if you are willing to do the work.
Very pretty site for an outdoor ceremony and a couple that wants to mold their wedding into something uniquely theirs. Requires a bit more coOrdinating on your part (ou are responsible for linens flatware alcohol...the works) but we pubs it every worth it whe everything was all said and done
We had our wedding mid- June and it was hot hot hot out! The venue was air conditioned although not as cold as it could have been. The staff was very nice while we planned our wedding and did not interrupt the reception at all. We had a very relaxed reception and bbq- went great. The place was clean when we arrived. My only complaint is the limited timeframe you get for your money.
I was so thankful to find Cobblestone Farms! I wanted my wedding to have a vintage/rustic feel to it, and this location was just that. It is an actual barn with a loft in it. But it's not what you think of when you think barn. It's completely finished off inside- white walls and wood floors which makes it easy to decorate with whatever color your wedding is. It comfortably seated 180 people with a dance floor. Our only complaint throughout the whole thing was that the people had communication issues, which caused some last minute drama the day of the wedding... A few of the managers we had talked to a couple of weeks before the wedding had okayed a few things, then we got there and the manager working that day was not okay with what we had already gotten approval of. So if you do choose to use this venue make sure you talk to EVERYONE who works there. Other than that, our wedding looked exactly as I always dreamed it would.
Cobblestone Farms was a wonderful venue for my outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. The restored barn on the property is beautiful, and fit perfectly with my style (not overly formal, very warm and welcoming). Staff were helpful from planning through the end of the reception.
The venue offers a beautiful setting for an outdoor ceremony. The cost was inexpensive and we liked that we could get an outside catering company (they do not offer one, but have lots of preferred vendors). They provide the inside tables and chairs and put them up and take them down.
The only issue some might find is that there is a loft, and some guests would feel detached from the lower floor. We had 7 tables on the floor and 5 up top. We put all of our young cousins up there and they had fun together.
I recommend going to the physical site for questions. Email is not a trusted way to get a response. They also waited until 2 weeks before our wedding to tell us that the Farm Association was also having their harvest festival, the same day, that did not end until 4. Our ceremony started @ 4:30. Fortunately parking was not an issue. The barn rental and the house are directed by two different entities. If you have a ceremony that takes place earlier in the day I would recommend checking a few months prior, even after you have paid for your rental. They put up yellow cation tape to mark off the property for the festival...luckily our ceremony was far away from it and didn't make it into the photos.
I fell in love with this venue as soon as I saw it. We eloped so we actually did not end up having our reception there. The women are so great to work with. This is definitely a venue to check out. You have to bring in your own food and decorations but they do provide the tables and chairs and full use of the grounds with your rental.
affordable - includes both ceremony and reception. Allows you to pick all other vendors. gorgeous location - just perfect
If you are looking for a unique ceremony and reception location then this is the place for you.
My husband and I wanted something fun and unique for our wedding. We researched barns around Michigan and were very pleased to find this place. All of my guests commented on the setting and really enjoyed the live animals there. They have chickens, sheep, ducks, geese, etc. The only down side is you only get the space for 10 hours on the day of the event. You can buy more hours if needed at an additional cost.
A very unique setting for a wedding but make sure you have a coordinator for it. They only have the actual hall area and tables and chairs. This means you need to get the tablecloths, decorations, food, drinks and anything else you'll need. They also aren't the best at communicating. When calling them make sure you get the answer in writing because they may change thier mind.
This is a beautiful location inside and out! The staff is friendly and helpful and very accommodating.
We loved having our wedding at Cobblestone! We got married outside and then had the reception inside. You need to bring everything in to the site which was fun because we could choose exactly what we wanted. Its a beautiful site.
I absolutely loved Cobblestone Farms. The only negative aspect is you only get 10 hours which is cutting it short.
We did our ceremony and reception at Cobblestone. For only $1000, we had an outdoor ceremony (option of full sun or full shade), memorable reception location in the air-conditioned barn, and 10 hours of access. We could come to check it out at our leisure (which we did so we could plan decor, etc.), and we loved being able to hire our own caterer. You definitely have to plan more - decor, catering, etc. - but it's worth it to make your wedding really reflect who you are! Only warning: CALL EARLY to reserve. We called in Sept. '09 and were told that every Saturday between April-Oct. '10 was already booked. We ended up doing a Sunday wedding in August...was fantastic!!
The location was exactly what we were looking for, an old farmhouse and barn. It's a really cool venue and has a rustic, vintagey style. However, the "wedding coordinators" were of very little help and it was so hot in there during our reception (which apparently is our fault, we left the big barn doors open to long and the air conditioner couldn't catch up. But none of the workers there told us to not open the doors)
