Our wedding day was the best day of our life thanks to Mary, Anya, and the Colonial's team!
I would highly recommend this venue! #1 reason is Mary & Anya! #2 reason is the convenience of having everything in one spot, less things to plan, less people to organize with!
From the first visit, Mary made us feel at ease and that she knew exactly what needed to happen. She was so kind and attentive and I instantly trusted her. Throughout the whole process Mary and Anya were great at communication, alway responded to every little question that popped in my head. The weekend of the wedding they continued to be amazing, helping us through all last minute issues and questions.
The venue its self was a huge win for us. It was so great having everything in one place. More than half our guests stayed over night on site. The restaurant and bar were so convenient for brunch. We had our rehearsal dinner and after party on site and even rented the salon for hair and makeup. We didn't leave the hotel for the whole weekend and it was great! Our nieces and nephews also really enjoyed the game room and pool. We were also able to have our dog at our ceremony and stay at the hotel which was a huge priority for us!

We had our wedding at the Colonial Hotel on Novemebr 1st and it was absolutely amazing. Much in part to our wedding planner Mary. She was so attentive and kept us on track and broke down the entire process for us from start to finish. We looked at a few other venues before seeing the Colonial and we had mixed feelings every where els ewe went. As a gay couple we were hit with a lot of hate when searching for a venue and even vendors but the Colonial made us feel welcome and right at home. She was incredibly freindly and detail oriented. As a type A personality I imagined I would have a hard time letting someone else help plan or take over and do what needed to be done but Mary put me at ease right from the get go. The staff on the day of the wedding was also incredible. They went out of their way to take care of us in anyway needed and were so very friendly. The wedding was a hit and people are still reaching out to us to tell us how much they loved it. Most even saying it was the best wedding they have ever gone to. 10 out of 10 would recommend booking this venue for your wedding. The old time charm and the modern decor was awesome. The rooms were great, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was out of this world. If I could I'd give this venue 100 stars!

We booked the Colonial Hotel for our wedding day in July 2025 and had a great experience working with Mary and her team. They were incredibly proactive, attentive and thoughtful throughout the venue evaluation process, wedding planning months and wedding day. Mary’s timely responses, attention to detail and industry experience made planning feel achievable and stress-free.
During the wedding day, the team went above and beyond with many thoughtful gestures such as ensuring the wedding party had refreshments during the formal photoshoot (they wheeled a cart outside to meet us during the shoot), wrapping up the remainder of our wedding cake, and decorating the bridal suite with the floral centerpieces rather than throwing them away (we came back to a beautifully decorated room at the end of the night, and in the morning many of our guests took home a centerpiece).
We could all relax and enjoy the wedding day because we fully trusted Mary and her team to take care of the setup, schedule adherence and logistics. The food and drinks were a hit, and the hotel rooms were cozy and comfortable. The bridal suite in particular was spacious, decked out with great amenities and had lots of seating for the bridal party. The rest of the hotel (foyer, cocktail tent, ballroom) provided an incredible backdrop for our wedding - the spaces were absolutely beautiful with all the lighting and decorations. We would highly recommend The Colonial Hotel for future weddings!

The Colonial is a beautiful spot for a wedding. Our daughter's wedding was so well-organized. Mary and her staff were on top of every detail and went above and beyond to make our family feel special. The Colonial Hotel was the perfect venue for us. It was reasonably priced and every step of the process was easier with them helping. Mary and the entire wedding coordinator group could not have been better, easier to communicate with and so incredibly amazing. I would recommend the Colonial Hotel to anyone looking for an amazing venue, a reasonable price, amazing food, and wonderful people to help plan your perfect wedding!

Really disappointed with everything at the colonial. We did not have our wedding here, but reserved a room block for our wedding guests. Some guests didn't realize that, so they booked online through booking.com and actually got a cheaper rate than what was offered in the block...I thought that was the point of the block? They also do an attrition clause which they are up front about, but there are hotels not much further than them who will reserve a block for you and then release the rooms a month out if they do not get booked. We had welcome bags for our guests and they charged us $2/person just to hand out the bags at the front desk, not even bring them to the rooms. We also requested an earlier check in specifically for our guests (only 16 rooms and asked well in advance) and they "could not guarantee" an earlier check in until the day of and the guests had to call that morning. We also had a bus taking our guests to and from the venue and a few had unopened alcohol that they were bringing up to their rooms and were forced to dump all of it out.

oking for ways to improve. Our room blocks are set up to offer a discount off of our best available rate at the time of setting up the block. While very often, this is also lower than third party booking sites, they sometimes offer discounts to members, as well as promotional rates that are beyond our control. We encourage anyone who has a black to contact their sales manager if they can verify a much lower rate online. Our property does enforce an attrition clause for all of our blocks. This clause simply states that as the hotel is guaranteeing an agreed upon number of rooms at a set rate for you and your guests, that you, in turn, are guaranteeing the hotel that rooms are picked up. This helps the hotel to offer our groups a discounted rate, as we are not a risk for having to sell those rooms last minute. I understand that this provision is not agreeable to all, and when that is the case, we encourage interested parties to have guests call in and book without a block. It is also outlined in our room block contracts that there is a fee to distribute welcome bags. We charge this fee, as check-in times are often busy and often we have to add more staff to accommodate this service. Additionally, we have found that delivering the bags to the guest room often causes issues when a guest makes a request for room location at check in, and so it is more efficient to hand them out a check-in.
Our hotel check -in time is at 4:00 pm. This is also noted in your contract. While we understand, that often guests, especially those attending weddings, would like to check in before then, we do need to leave ample time for our housekeeping staff to clean the rooms to our exacting standards. Having said that, as long as a guest room in available, we have no problem checking in a guests, anytime after noon, with no charge. As we would have no way of knowing that in the days before hand, we suggest calling the hotel that day to see if it is available. For those guests that find it necessary to have the room guaranteed, we recommend booking the night before as well. This is common policy throughout the hotel industry. Customer service is a top most priority for us, and so it is always disheartening to hear when those expectations have not been met. We offer these services to those couples who book at venues who not offer these amenities, and it is our goal to treat our offsite weddings with the same dedication to hospitality we provide to our own weddings. I apologize if these standards did not meet your expectations.

We honestly had the most magical wedding experience! Mary and the crew were attentive and on point for everything from start to finish! The Christmas decor made everything even more lovely. Look no further for your wedding venue! The Colonial provided us a wedding beyond our wildest dreams. Our guests are still talking about our wedding! The food was delicious - guests raved about the scallops wrapped in bacon and the bernaise sauce on the beef in particular. Mary, Kaylee, Maggie, Katie and the entire team were VERY attentive to every single detail- from the cocktail hour setup to the centerpieces to the ceremony setup and beyond. Not to mention they are all very nice and genuine people. The staff at the hotel were all courteous- from the front desk to housekeeping. The bathrooms and the grounds were immaculate. I could write a novel but were SO grateful we had our wedding here!!!

Mary and her team were incredible! They truly made our big day so stress free and everything we dreamed of! They pay attention to all the small details and work so hard to make every moment absolutely perfect! Before the wedding they were extremely responsive, always willing to answer any questions I had. Highly recommend this venue to everyone! The food is amazing, and our guests are still talking about it, and how much fun they had! If you are debating having your wedding at a hotel venue, do it and pick the Colonial Hotel!

Our June wedding at the Colonial was absolutely perfect! Mary and her team made our dreams come true. They were incredibly responsive in communicating, assisted with decision making and kept our wedding weekend flowing smoothly and right on schedule.
The Colonial had everything we needed from Friday through Sunday. We had our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on site at the grille, our ceremony outside at the pergola, cocktail hour at the outdoor tent/patio, reception in the ballroom and after party at the grille. Sunday there was an optional breakfast as well. The ease of plenty of hotel rooms and virtually no transportation the entire weekend made our lives (and our guests lives) easier!
The staff kept the timeline of events and logistics clear and direct. They were always nearby for any need, big or small. The grounds were immaculate, food and drink were great, the setup and decor exceeded my expectations and the entire day really was perfect. The suites were spacious and the bridal parties had lots of room to get ready and enjoy the morning. The standard rooms had options for two queens or a king, handicap accessibility as well as pet friendly rooms. The rates were reasonable and the room block had plenty of rooms, even for our larger wedding.
I highly recommend the Colonial as a wedding venue. I would consider this an all-in-one venue which gave us more time to spend with each other and guests and eliminated the need for transportation between sites. Thankful for them and the celebration we had there!

Wow. Where do I start? This venue was amazing. We actually booked another venue first and switched to the Colonial and man it did not disappoint!! The staff is wonderful and the venue is beautiful. Mary and Kailee, the wedding coordinators are top notch. They were so flexible and willing to answer my one million questions and always brainstorming with me to come up with unique ideas. We have received non stop compliments from our guests about how good the food was and how wonderful the staff is. The on site pub was a huge hit too. Truly can’t say enough good things about this place. Definitely reccomend the suites as well! They were perfect to get ready in the day of. 10 out of 10 the whole wedding weekend! The Colonial is such a beautiful wedding venue! We had the wedding of our dreams a week ago! Mary, Anya and Katie made the whole day run so smoothly, and helped us every step of the way. It is also so nice that everything can be at the venue (rehearsal, ceremony, reception, after party). Our guests loved that they were able to stay at the hotel (very convenient)! Everything was so wonderful!

We had our wedding reception at the Colonial Hotel at the end of April. It was a wonderful time. We got so many compliments from our guests about the food, not only the great taste but the large portions and everyone loved the appetizers. The wait staff was incredible, they were attentive to everyone and very pleasant. And the ballroom was setup exactly how we envisioned it. Everyone had plenty of space at their tables and in between tables to walk around.
I stayed in the bridal suite the night before and got ready there that morning. The suite was very spacious, giving us plenty of room for myself, 2 bridesmaids, my mom and flower girl to all get our hair & makeup done and get dressed. My main issue with the bridal suite was that there was no good location to hang up my dress. The “closet” was simply a bar with a rack on top that you see in a lot of hotel rooms but it was hung relatively low so the dress would have no room to hang properly plus it was located right behind the door so I was nervous to have the dress there thinking people would open the door onto the dress. The door to the bathroom was a pocket door so that was not an option. We finally realized that the only place to hang it would be on the valance above the window. But when it came time to steam my dress, we realized that would not work because there were no outlets close enough to plug in the steamer. We ended up draping most of the dress over a chair and had my mom held the top of it while I steamed. To have and advertise bridal suites, I think they should think about what people are using the room for and make sure to have the right accommodations especially something as simple as having an adequate spot to hang a wedding dress.
Overall while the day of the wedding was great, we wished the planning process could have been smoother. Our initial meeting to see the hotel was great. But after we signed the contract, it was hard to get definitive answers on things. For example, the package we choose came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with the dessert. First meeting we had, I had asked if we could also have chocolate as I do not like vanilla. We were told that should not be a problem. In following meetings and emails, when the same question was asked, we were told they would have to check with the chef and then we were told yes we could have chocolate but was then told we could have chocolate or vanilla, we could not have both. We were never given an answer as to why both could not be option.
The other main back & forth involved the entree dishes. Early on, because of our own tastes and our budget, we knew what meals we would be choosing. But the brochure we received detailing the different packages and meal options did not list the sides that come with the meals. Upon asking we were told it comes with a potato (either roasted or mashed) and chef’s choice of vegetable. For the most part we were fine with that and choose mashed potatoes. We learned that there was a vegetarian option of eggplant rollatini. It was not until much closer to our date when we submitted our table info and meals for all of our guests did we learn (because of different allergies and dietary restrictions) that there was a veggie stir-fry for vegans and plain grilled chicken with a baked potato available for people with certain allergies. We wished we had known all of these options much sooner so we did not have to spend time going back and forth with some guests trying to figure out the best option for them. Also we were not sure why we were not given the choice of a baked potato for the potato as that is something I personally would have chosen of the mashed.
Also be aware that they only have 1 wedding tasting event a year, at the end of February (that was when ours was). We were given the option to have a private tasting a little bit earlier (I believe we were offered time in January, maybe December) but if you have the private tasting, you have the pick the appetizers and meals you would like to try as opposed the wedding tasting event which allows you to taste everything. We decided that even though there wasn’t much time between the tasting event in February and our wedding in April to go with the event not a private tasting so we could pick which appetizers we liked best.
The hotel was a beautiful place for a wedding but I would make sure you think of all possible questions and be persistent when trying to get answers to those questions so you know as much information as you can as early on as possible.

Mary & her team are the best!! I think back when me and my then fiancé were looking for fantastic venues that could capture epic photos, fun atmosphere, beautiful rooms that our bridal party could relax in, AND at a budget. Mary and the staff at Colonial Hotel exceeded expectations and went above and beyond. Our wedding day went so smoothly with their help. They made planning so easy. They are so professional & truly enjoy their work. Mary was always quick getting back to us, and keeping us updated. Even going through the wedding rehearsal the night before, fun and professional the entire way! Also the food!... So delicious. So many of guest kept saying how good the prime rib was. Phenomenal Entrees and apps!! My husband and I appreciated how quick the staff was to have drinks and apps at the ready even when we were taking photos. Cant thank Mary and all the great people at the Colonial Hotel enough for our unforgettable celebration!! Amazing!

The Colonial Hotel was so incredibly amazing I don’t think I’ll have the right words to describe it. The coordinating team was so thoughtful, helpful, accommodating, kind .. Mary went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and make sure our day was beyond perfect. Anya and Kayleigh supported us beyond perfectly throughout the wedding day and get us where we needed to be without taking away from any of the fun we were having. The food was incredible and everyone made sure my allergies could be accommodated. The ease of having every part of our wedding in one place was exactly what we were looking for. Not to mention it’s just beautiful. Us and our families had the weekend of our lives. The Colonial Hotel is the best place to get married.

When we got engaged we knew we wanted a venue where it had everything we needed in terms of ceremony, reception, and accommodations. In fact, we decided to look at Colonial Hotel first knowing it offered all of this and upon meeting with Mary for our initial visit we didn’t even pursue any other venue. From the start, Mary and her team were so great and helpful. Communication was superb, which during a busy time is key in my opinion because I know I was overwhelmed wedding planning so getting any reminder emails or update emails made me feel better. Our wedding was on 9/23/23 and we were so hopeful it would be a beautiful day to have the ceremony outside, but it was rainy. It was nice to be able to wait until about day or two before the wedding to give our final decision as to whether to have the ceremony outside or in the ballroom so that we knew we could be confident with our decision to ultimately hold it inside. Everything was absolutely beautiful and so well planned/organized. We would highly recommend Colonial Hotel!

After getting engaged, we started researching venues. The Colonial was the closest in proximity to our home so we figured we’d venture out to check it out first. In fact, after our first tour there, we booked a date! The convenience of having everything all in one location is ideal for bridal party and for guests. Mary and the staff were wonderful start to finish. They kept our timeline on schedule, helped assemble & dissemble the decor, and checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were good. The food was great - the portions were generous and we received many compliments throughout the evening. The bridal suite (there are multiple suites) was huge, fit everyone comfortably while getting ready. I can’t say enough nice things about our experience. I’d absolutely consider booking them as your wedding spot!

Obviously the venue is gorgeous as you can see from photos but, the hidden gems are Mary and Emily! You could not ask for better service, more wedding reception knowledge of kinder people to make every wedding dream a reality. They truly do it ALL and make it look so easy. I cannot recommend them enough- they make it all so fun!!

Got married at the Colonial in April of 2022, my friends and family STILL talk about my wedding a year and a half later! It was the most magical day of my life. The whole team at the Colonial went above and beyond to make sure that our special day was perfect. We had early access to the bridal suite, our guests loved their rooms, everyone partied all night long (everyone loved the fact that the restaurant/bar stayed open for us until 2-3 am), the ballroom was stunning, the food was incredible. We also had our rehearsal dinner and morning-after breakfast buffet with all of the guests who stayed overnight, and everything was amazing! I couldn’t rate this place high enough! 💜

We had planned to have an outdoor ceremony but the rain changed that, Mary and everyone else had the ballroom set up beautifully and everything went so smooth! We can’t say thank you enough!

Just got married here in August and couldn’t say anything bad about this venue. They were more than accommodating and Mary was so helpful to make our wedding planning so easy. Mary was very prompt on responding to all of my questions and emails during all our wedding planning process. The food was one of the best wedding meals I’ve had and our guests have said the same. The wait staff was on top of everything the day of and we even got some on the dance floor at the end of the night…so awesome! If you’re looking for a one stop shop as well as just a venue where you have everything on site this is your place!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful our wedding day was. Every step of the planning process was easy. They had every detail ready to go. They had many vendors that they use that I could chose from. They were always ready to answer my questions. Even with a summer wedding they already had back up plans for rain. The staff was very professional and the food was perfect. I was glad to have everything at one location so my guests didn't need to travel in between. The facility is big and had so much parking. I am so thankful we had our special day here.

My son had his wedding here last December. First off, the Hotel was decorated so beautiful for the Christmas season. Working with Mary and Nikki was painless and very easy. The reception hall was stunning with the lights and decorations and was more than big enough for our 180 person wedding. Food was delicious, and the room accommodations made all of our guests very happy. We also held our rehearsal dinner and after party there. The after party with a DJ and food was a great way for the guests to keep the party going until 2am. Highly recommend.

I had my wedding here in December of 2022 and would not have changed a thing!! All of the staff and especially the wedding coordinator were amazing. They had so many things included with the wedding package that we chose and so many amenities that just made our day absolutely perfect. Mary, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing and took a lot of stress out of the day for me and my husband. She was constantly on top of everything and made sure our day went exactly as we wanted it to. The hotel is absolutely beautiful that time of year and they set up of the room was breathtaking. Such an amazing place to host a wedding or any other type of event.

We had out wedding reception at the Colonial Hotel in January of 2022! It was such a wonderful experience! The Hotel itself is beautiful, but the staff was beyond what we imagined! Everyone was so personable and made sure that all of our needs were met! There was a snow storm the night before, but staff did a great job at keeping us in the loop! It turned out to be a gorgeous day! Everyone paid so close to the details and our requests. We truly would not have changed a single thing!

We had our wedding here on 12/3/22 and I can't recommend the Colonial enough! Mary and her events team were absolutely wonderful - helped me stay organized and relaxed through the entire planning process. We got so many compliments on the wedding itself - the ceremony space, the reception, and having the pub there late night for the after party - we all had the best time! Food was excellent, staff was attentive and so friendly, and we can't speak highly enough!! Have your wedding here!!!!

I cannot say enough about how PERFECT our wedding day and weekend was! I got so many compliments from guests on how amazing the Colonial Hotel is. Great Service, beautiful hotel in general, and the food WAS DELICIOUS. All of the little details were considered. Mary is THE BEST! She and the team, especially Cahlee and Stephanie, were truly caring and understood how important the day was to me and I'm so grateful to them as I don't look back on anything and wish it had been done differently. Seriously, perfect. Everything I envisioned, Mary made it happen with the help of everyone at the Colonial Hotel. The rehearsal dinner was also amazing. Every server was spectacular, especially Sam and Beth. Again, the food was beyond delicious. Everyone agreed. I could cry at how thankful I am that a day I planned for years, with so much pressure surrounded by it, was cared about by everyone at the hotel as much as I cared about it. They even took everything back to my room and set up all of my flowers beautifully in the room to enjoy! The little things made a huge difference! WE WILL CHERISH THESE MEMORIES FOREVER!

The Colonial Hotel helped to make our wedding day so special - we cannot recommend them enough. Incredible packages, reasonable, and great service; along with beautiful scenery, and amazing food. Mary is also the absolute best coordinator there ever was, and is an absolute joy to work with. One of the first things I missed about the wedding process being over was working with her! They also helped us through the stress of the pandemic and rescheduling our day by a year, and were incredibly accommodating. Cannot recommend the Colonial enough!

Mary and her team were great at the Colonial Hotel. They listened to everything that was important to us and worked with us on what we wanted. Originally, we were going to have an outdoor wedding but at the rehearsal it looked like it would rain during the ceremony time. Mary was upfront about what our options were and made sure we had plenty of time to decide. When we decided to move it into the ballroom her team was able to get the ballroom set up that night in time so we could have the rehearsal in there. Day of the team was attentive to our needs. They have a salon on site you can use for the hair and makeup team so there is plenty of room. The tent was gorgeous, and everything was set up how we wanted it. It was so hot out that I didn't eat much of my dinner or the cake and when we got back to our room there was a plate waiting for me with my meal and some of our cake. The hotel room was set up for us with the centerpieces from our table and so soft and romantic. We didn't have to worry about clean up the team took care of that, and everything was in our room before we got there so it made leaving the next day for our honeymoon super easy.

We immediately fell in love with this venue and it lived up to our expectations. Mary and the rest of the staff catered to our every need and took the stress off of us on our special day. They set up and executed everything exactly how we requested, and paid extra attention to detail. Everyone raved about the food and service. We couldn't have been happier with the Colonial on our wedding day!

This hotel was absolutely amazing. We just got married over the weekend 12.4.21 for a winter wedding. The hotel was gorgeous. they had all the holiday decor set up which made the atmosphere so much more beautiful and my wedding photos look absolutely beautiful with the wedding decor and lights. not only is the decor amazing, but the staff that work here are amazing. Mary Whitman, my wedding planner of the hotel ans her staff worked with me for a year and a half with planning. They always got back to me with any questions or concerns right away. They are not only down to earth and easy to communicate with, but they are super talented with decorating the hall ( I had alot of decor) they made sure to use everything everything brought and placed it beautifully. I got so many compliments from my guests about how wonderful everything looked and how beautiful everything was. The food is delicious and everyone also told me how much they enjoyed the food as well. my husband and I are just so happy we chose this hotel to have our wedding and we highly recommend anyone who is planning a wedding to absolutely consider having it herr!

We were supposed to get married 05/16/2020 but like many others, Covid ruined that. Mary WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did we change our date once, but two other times and every single time Mary was the easiest to work with. She was to calming and she is such a great person that made it much easier. She is personable and knows exactly what to do when to do it. I was nervous about so many things and Mary took care of everything! Even room situations for our guests and wedding party. The hotel is so beautiful and the pictures came out amazing but this staff and this place will always be the best decision we made. Everything is done right and done for you so the wedding can be everything and so much more than you could dream of. It was certainly that way for me. Cannot say enough amazing things about this venue!

We just got married on August 14th and I know people say it's stressful planning a wedding but I wouldn't have been able to pull it off as smoothly as I did without Mary, Kailee and Sarah! They were AMAZING! Every email (and I sent ALOT) was answered with in 2 hours and any questions I asked they were able give me answers. They are organized, timely, professional and so much fun to work with. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, food is PHENOMENAL, and the tent and ceremony space in the ballroom blew me out of the water. If you are looking for a one stop shop to have rehearsal, ceremony and receipt with a hotel.. look no further, you will be blown away by the staff and hotel. Absolutely had the best weekend of my life thanks to The Colonial Hotel!

DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE! The hotel was not accommodating to our concerns regarding Covid despite them originally saying rescheduling would not be an issue. It ended up being a very big issue and we had to walk away from our deposit. A hotel should put their clients first especially when it comes to safety and they did not.

Sadly, I had to move my wedding from July 2020 at the Colonial Hotel due to the pandemic and the team could not have been any easier to work with. I called Mary and Kailee and asked what I could do, they let me know they were working with all couples to move to a new date 8 weeks prior if the restrictions were still in place. When the time came they were just as helpful, sending me new dates for 2021. I moved my date to May 2nd 2021 out in the Tent, with all of our deposits! Even with our new date we did not have the same amount of guests come celebrate with us as we expected, the Hotel worked with us on all minimums. The Sales office made sure that my day was as special as it could be and I truly couldn't ask for more!

I had my wedding booked at the Colonial originally for April 2020, due to the Pandemic we moved our wedding to August 2020. We decided to move to the summer due to the pandemic was supposed to be over. During the pandemic I do have to say the Colonial Sales Team did answer my questions and concerns daily. The Hotel always worked with us, at this point due to the restrictions we could only have 50 people including staff. The Hotel did tell us that we could keep our wedding and they would not hold us to any minimums and we could just use our deposits and have a wedding for 50ppl, or we could take our deposits and move to another date which we decided that is what we wanted to do.. We did get married and had everything that we truly wanted. I know this was difficult and I was probably not easy to deal with but hotel did everything to help me through this whole process and made me feel at ease. I understand by reading some of these reviews people were frustrated with this pandemic as well as I was but this was not anyone's fault. I always wanted to have my wedding here and I am very glad that I did. Thank you to everyone at the Colonial!!! Our guests are still talking about what a GREAT TIME EVERYONE HAD!!!!

I apologize for any issues that did occur during your stay at the hotel.
We...
did not receive any complaints from your room block or manager complaints in regards to your room block. Although our hours are limited during the week our weekend hours are extensive. On Fridays the restaurant is open from 12pm - to 2am and on Saturdays we are open from 8am-2am. If we were aware of any needs that you might of had we would of been more than happy to help you but we were not aware of any. The hotel just to clarify, did work with all of our couple's throughout the pandemic and allowed people to move their dates. All reservations were cancelled however if there was a reservation outside of the room block we would not know this.
Regarding outside alcohol, you are correct the hotel does not allow outside alcohol here on property. The Hotel has a full service restaurant and pub to accommodate all your needs. This is something as well that ALL Guests sign when checking in the hotel that they agree there is no outside alcohol to be brought in. In regards to this if guests have outside alcohol in the hotel, walking around the hotel they are informed that it is not allowed and they signed a paper at check in agreeing to it.

Where do we even begin?
In 2018 we booked the Colonial Hotel with high hopes and 100% total trust.
When the pandemic hit, not only did this venue break state guidelines, they endangered the local community, and encouraged us to break the state guidelines to host what in the planner's words was a "safe wedding".
To top it all off, the owners kept our full deposit and were extremely threatening when trying to negotiate retrieving our full deposit. STAY AWAY!

We were not very happy with the hotel. We had asked for a bridal suite so that my bridesmaids and I could stay the night before and get ready in the room. They said they didn't have any but would try to upgrade our room. The room we did get was extremely small, I believe it was a handicap accessible room, that we barely could move around in. Our guests ended up having much bigger rooms than we did which was extremely frustrating and showed poor planning on their part. The room was not that great, and the hotel needs to update its policies. We were charged an amenities fee for which there were no amenities provided because of COViD. The deposit for the room was also far above industry standard, and took an extremely long time to be refunded to us.
The hotel also was in the news multiple times leading up to our wedding for COViD restriction violations that was discomforting, however it was one of the only hotels in the area and we had extremely limited options for our guests.
On one positive note, they were very flexible with the hotel room block, not charging for not having all our rooms filled within the time frame.
If I had other choices in the area, I would not have used this hotel.

Suites - We do not rent...
out suites to offsite groups till 1 month prior or so due to our own weddings and functions get first priority. I am sure you can understand that. It was a holiday weekend so they were all booked.
Room Accommodations- You did ask for early check in, so we did put you in a room that was available at that time so we could accommodate your request. We were sold out Thursday Friday and Saturday.
Amenity fee - The hotel has Never charged an amenity fee. When I looked on your account I saw you were just charged for room and tax only.
Hotel(s) Standard Policy - 48 hours prior Authorization takes place. Hotel hold for incidentals releases when you check out and is all up to your bank how long it takes on their end to release the hold.
The Hotel has been working with our local board of health and following Covid-19 guidelines since March.
During this pandemic we have been working with all clients with contracts due to the regulations.

We had our ceremony and reception here in September of 2019 and had a really great experience. The staff at the Colonial are so easy to work with and have an answer for any question you may have. The venue itself can be pricey but if you're someone who wants to hand off some of your wedding planning to professionals, it's worth every penny. Having hotel rooms on-site for guests is a huge bonus. Our day was perfect and we received so many compliments on the venue. Their recent renovations really elevate the look of the whole place! Would recommend to anyone looking for an all-in-one venue in central MA.

The Colonial Hotel was amazing from the time we booked until our big event. Mary and Kailee always went above and beyond to answer any questions we had. Mary was great through all my crazy bride moments! Mary and Kailee were always willing to go the extra mile to make us happy. Having our wedding at the Colonial Hotel was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Mary was amazing to work with over the two year course of planning our wedding, and she was very responsive to my incessant e-mails in the weeks leading up to the big event. She was able to accommodate my mother-in-law's request for a laid back rehearsal dinner, and was willing to go to bat for us on all of our 'out of the norm' requests. The salon space for getting ready pre-wedding was unparalleled and allowed for the bridal suite to be clean right up until it was time for the girls to get dressed. The food at both the rehearsal dinner and the reception was amazing, as were all of the passed hors d'oeuvres. Our package included Chiavari chairs and floor length linens which looked absolutely stunning in the ballroom. The space is so beautiful on it's own that we needed to bring very little decorations. We requested that the Christmas decorations be up for our Thanksgiving weekend wedding, and not only did the hotel deliver but they looked amazing. I cannot recommend Mary and the sales team enough, this was the perfect venue for our wedding!

Due to the scope of our event, I’m going to rate services individually. Hopefully it helps explain why our rating is what it is.
Wedding Ceremony/Reception: 4
With the package we chose, we were fairly certain that the ballroom would look stunning, and we were right! The design elements, from the table placements to the entryway, hit all the right notes. The only thing that was a little less than perfect for us was the lack of a separate “dance floor” type of location. It was just the space between tables in front of the DJ. While it worked, it felt too spacious and if you have less than probably 150 people, you’ll notice it. Also, being as we had our ceremony there as well, it was nice to see how quickly the staff made the changeover from ceremony to reception ballroom.
Coordinating: 2.5
This one hurt a bit. It was almost as if, from the moment they had our deposit, we became just another couple and another wedding. Whenever I had concerns or questions, it felt almost like we were bothering people in trying to get answers. While the major things went smoothly (rehearsal dinner, entrances, etc.), it felt at times like it did because my wife and I were coordinating with the vendors. At one point, I had to leave a traditional ceremony with my wife’s family to help the DJ figure out his set up space, because no one seemed to ever be around when they were needed. A lot of times, we just had to figure things out on our own, and luckily I had experience from being in and helping with prior weddings. Hopefully it was just our experience, but we definitely didn’t feel like we were “special” in the way you should on your day, instead feeling like just another revenue stream for the hotel. I will say that Kailee was phenomenal whenever dealing with her. She was our initial contact, and the one that truly made us feel like we mattered. Even on the day of our wedding, she was still working to ensure our satisfaction. She’s an asset to the Colonial and I hope she’s recognized
as such.

That brings me to the rooms themselves. We stayed for two nights, with the first night in separate rooms. In my personal room on night one, the volume of doors slamming was fairly startling. The carpets were torn in the halls, paint and wallpaper chipping on the walls, and our keycards worked at best 50% of the time. For our night in our post-wedding suite, I’d have rated it higher if we would’ve had hot water in the shower. My wife had to clean herself in the shower with cold water and then jump into the jacuzzi tub for hot. Throw in the fact that the heater blows directly onto the bed and you’re looking at a strong chance of getting ill prior to any honeymoon you may take.

Every single thing we ate was amazing. Even our guests were raving about it. No matter what you choose here, know that it’ll be good.
Service: 1
This should’ve been a five all day. The hotel staff itself was fine, as were the bartending staff and restaurant wait staff. I had to knock it down due to the fact that a server put a piece of tomato bruschetta on my wife’s gown prior to even getting photos with family and the wedding party. While I appreciated their efforts in removing the stains they created, we now have professional photos that visibly show blotted stains from this. I can’t believe a mistake of that level could even happen at what is supposedly a professional facility, let alone that a professional apology never came to the both of us for this.

We had our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding here and everything was amazing! It was really great to have all of our wedding activities in one place, I think it made it easy and nice for our guests. Mary and the staff are so great to work with!! Mary was so great during the entire wedding planning process and helped so much! Steph helped me all day on the day of my wedding and she was absolutely amazing!!!!! I can’t say enough great things about it! You won’t be disappointed.

We recently just had our wedding at the Colonial Hotel. I cannot say enough about the Hotel. From the time we checked in it was absolutely perfect. We started off having our rehearsal dinner in the Colonial Grille which was low key and the food was delicious. The Reception was absolutely amazing. I still have people telling me it was the best wedding they have ever went to. Mary was there with me the whole time to answer any questions and was also with me the day of to keep me from stressing out. After the reception we went into the pub for the late night station and the hotel provided entertainment so we could keep the party going. I honestly cannot say enough about the hotel and we will be sure to recommend it to everyone. They also recently repainted the outside building and it feels like you have entered a castle.
