Shauna the event coordinator was amazing and the staff were so accommodating our entire visit. We had our wedding at the Franklin Park Conservatory and the Marriott graciously provided shuttles for our guests and went out of their way to be accommodating to me and my now husband our entire stay. They even offered to refrigerate our corsages! Truely hospitable and kind to all of our guests, thank you!
The airport was not our first choice as an area to book a hotel, but some of these hotels want to put you into ridiculous contracts for room blocking and we couldn't imagine asking our guests to pay upwards of $160 a night so we ended up at the Courtyard by Marriot on Airport Dr and we could not be happier with the experience. It's nicely updated, and not far from downtown. The hotel staff were easy going and the courtyard with the huge fire pit was perfect for our after party. They didn't even mind that we were up late socializing. The rooms were reasonably priced as well. We had a breakfast at the Marriott across the street on Sunday morning and it all worked out really well. I recommend booking here!
They were awesome. The room was very clean and big.
The Marriott worked for our reception which was at Grand Valley Dale Ballroom. The prices were fine, although there is no continental breakfast and I think you have to pay for WiFi. Also, they told me they had a shuttle service which would be free for our guests, but what I didn't know was that it would only seat 11 people and we ended up having to pay for another company to come in and shuttle our guests, which was definitely an unexpected, not fun, expense. So just be prepared if you are having a lot of guests and want to use their shuttle. Besides that, they were fine to work with. They passed out my welcome bags and everything went fine!
The staff at the Columbus Airport Marriott are AMAZING!!!! Shauna is the event coordinator there and she did everything in her power to make my special day a success :). The location was beautiful, the food was delicious, and my reception was perfect.
We were on a tight budget seeing that my fiance & I were paying the majority of the wedding expenses. The Wedding Coordinators at the Marriott are highly experienced with their entire staff (cooks included) having very little turnover. We had the same coordinator for the entire 1+ year planning process, which was appreciated. Due to our budget constraints, they were more than willing to modify the food menu to be a buffet and open bar options to accomodate our budget. We were not treated any different after making these choices & were treated wonderfully throughout the entire process. The Marriott was also upfront in our first meeting about the predicted costs of the wedding. They didn't try to hide the costs for service fees & taxes, but put them right out there in the open, which was refreshing after visiting other venues. We knew what we would be payingn from day 1 & it only changed based on number of final guests. I would recommend the Columbus Airport Marriott to anyone looking for a wedding venue on the east side of Columbus.
We had the best experience planning our wedding reception at the Columbus Airport Marriott. Shauna the wedding planner made everything so easy. She knew we were on a budget and didn't treat us any differently which is not the case with many other wedding vendors. She helped us locate vendors for things like the cake and she also helped us come up with creative ideas for the food and get the most bang for our buck. The space was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff was very helpful. The only thing I wish they wouldn't have done was clear my dad's cake before he was finished.
We chose this hotel due to its reputation, proximity to the airport, Easton, and our wedding venue (the Franklin Park Conservatory), reasonable group rate, and shuttle service. Our arrangements included a jacuzzi suite for the bride and groom, junior suites for the parents of the bride and groom, shuttles to and from the Conservatory, extended hours at the hotel bar following the wedding, and a rate of $109/room with a continental breakfast included. Shauna (the Sales & Catering Account Manager with whom we set all of this up) was fabulous and always quick to respond to our emails. Our only minor complaints were that the staff did not provide enough food at breakfast (or refill it once it ran out) and at least one of our guests was left off of the hotel block despite having made her reservation using our designated link. It also would have been nice to have all rooms included in our block right next to one another so that other non-wedding guests were less affected by our presence (there were a few noise complaints).
The look and decor was awesome. The staff was awesome. We received so many compliments from everyone even from our wedding planner.
