Upon speaking to Alex in the office, she recommended Rachel be our photographer. Matt was our main Videographer, and last minute second, replacement Dan. I was assured they were familiar with the venue. Matt even text me if he was at the right... place. Dan showed up with no camera and asked my DJ if he was the other videographer. Dan’s camera apparently didn’t work. Rachel assured us the pictures were good. 90% are unusable due to amateur reasons. Pictures out of focus, people not smiling, Tracy in all of our chapel photos, pictures of walls, my eyes closed…etc. We brought this to owner, Justin. I called him the week following the Wedding to let him know photobooth attendant, Kayleigh. She brought an extra person to “train,” without asking, didn’t wear the attire we discussed. Upon speaking to Justin about Kayleigh’s behavior, he got very defensive and rude on the phone. I knew in that moment, he was in total control of the outcome. Maybe Rachel did take some better photos, and Justin just chose the bad ones?? We thought, hopefully the videos were good at least. Months later we received the “videos” and raw photos. The raw photos totaled less than what they gave us. He sent us corrupted files. Highlight reel was short, and in and out focus. The full ceremony was literally the last 5 minutes from the side, poor quality. I was promised video of my dad and I walking down the aisle and a shot of my husband seeing me for the first time. Nothing. Justin proceeded to say we were lucky to get any new edits and sent us the last 5 minutes at least 2 more times. He never re-edited anything. He admitted to not looking at what his business sends out. He offered us $500 and to sign a document that stated we could not review them online. NOTHING WAS USEABLE. This brings us to March/April 2022. I contacted his corporate office. They seemed reasonable and felt awful. Justin then emailed me saying, he “heard” about my conversation and that he did all he could do. By this point, we were grappling with the fact they MUST have lost the full ceremony footage. You would think he would have sent everything by this point. I spoke to a lawyer friend, who felt awful for us, he tried to get a hold of Justin. It took weeks, but he sent ALL video footage. Although poor quality, HE HAD THE FULL CEREMONY THE WHOLE TIME!! It was beyond abusive. He then said he would give us $1700 back, which was around 40% if we signed the document. The document he wanted us to sign stated $1500 refund that was attached to the same email! We said the only way we won’t say anything is if you refund us in full. He did not agree, however I did receive the $1700 6/21/22 and stated that if we ever reviewed him to be ready for him to defend himself.
It’s taken me this long to have the strength to finally use my voice.
Luckily we didn’t do an unplugged ceremony, so my guests had something. My voice is mine, and I won’t be silenced. It would be AMORAL for me NOT to share. THIS has hurt our entire family. Over 365 days of THIS. When I hired them, we were led to believe they were professional, and they would do a good job. I wish I would have known they would would ruin our special day forever.
