Concord Wedding and Prom Center

The first time I walked in to Concord Wedding Center I thought I would never go back. There was a lady that had worked there that was so incredibly rude to me and made comments because I am a heavier girl. Out of desperation to find bridesmaid dresses I returned a few months later and was met with a completely different experience. The girl who helped us was incredibly kind and my bridesmaids and I quickly picked out dresses and had them ordered. The dresses arrived on time and Concord Wedding Center called me the moment they arrived. The alterations lady was wonderful and so was the manager. I actually told them about my first experience and they were adamant to document it and told me how much they appreciated that I had told them. The lady who was rude to me, had done it to many other plus size brides and was fired. Overall my experience with Concord Wedding Center went well. It depended on the day that you went in to the store the type of service that your received. Some of my bridesmaids did not like the service that they received when they went to pick up their dresses; however, we all were happy with the end result.

I adore this place! From purchasing my beautiful wedding gown, my mom's mother of the bride dress (Stunning), and having them decorate my reception venue, Concord Wedding Center has it all! First, I visited a lot of bridal salons looking for the perfect dress. But when I walked into Concord Wedding Center, the selection of gowns they have is unmatched! If you can think of a gown you want, they have it! The staff is so knowledgeable and so helpful! They know how to accessorize each gown so you have your princess moment! And Irene, wow, can she alter a dress to fit your body like a glove and make you feel wonderful while doing it! The whole process from start to finish was amazing! Next, my mom's mother of the bride dress. I wanted something a little unique, and when we went for one of my fittings we saw a new dress on a mannequin that was absolutely perfect! They took the same time with her trying on this dress as they did with me! And I really appreciated it, because she deserved to have the attention on her for once! They were so helpful in getting her measured and then helping her to pick the perfect size! I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff! Finally, my reception decorations! WOW! I really don't have any other words but WOW! I gave them a general, and I mean a general concept of what I wanted, and they took that concept and turned my reception into something I could have never imagined! As I watched them decorate the barn, I was literally in awe of the design they had come up with! Angela is such an angel and knows exactly what she is doing, so trust her and she will give you more than you ever could have imagined! My guests continuously talked about the decor in the reception hall and how incredibly gorgeous it was! I wish I could share a picture on here, if you look at their weddings on their facebook page, you will understand the beauty of their designs and the true artistry that comes from their work! Thank you all a million times over for everything! I cannot imagine working with a better place!

They were wonderful to deal with at first. I called ahead and made sure the date all of my guys were coming to get fitted would be okay and they said it would be no problem for that date and time. When we got there we ended up waiting over an hour to get fitted. When we got the tuxs two of them had the wrong vest, one had the wrong size shirt, one was missing cuff links, and the grooms jacket had cigarette buts in the pockets. Also the pocket squares were not available for pickup until 5pm the day before the wedding, very last minute. The tuxs looked great we just did not receive the quality we expect from past dealings with them. They were very professional and apologetic but only the wrong size shirt was able to be fixed.

I have mixed emotions about the Concord Wedding Center. My first experience was very positive. I was a new bride looking for a wedding dress in the summer/fall of 2015. While I didn’t find the dress I was looking for, I loved working with Mary Beth, the store manager. She was polite, personable, and accommodating. She was willing to help immediately without requiring an appointment like other places do. My second experience was very unpleasant one with their seamstress when I was a bridesmaid in a different wedding. Next came the bridesmaids’ dresses for my wedding. Everything came back correct. So the bitter taste of the seamstress was gone, and my faith was being restored. Fast forward to January-ish of 2016 when my husband and I are looking for tuxes. CWC what we wanted at a reasonable price. We explained our superhero theme, and Chad was amazing at helping us including helping us to match the ties/ pocket squares with the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses. My husband waited until a month prior to the wedding to get measured because he was losing weight. When we came in for his measurements, two ladies were at the counter. The older lady, who we discovered was named Linda, was playing on her cell phone. The younger woman, said to Linda, “I guess you don’t want to measure him?” Linda rudely shook her head and said, “No.” The other girl went back and grabbed another lady to measure my husband. Our wedding was on a Monday and we had several groomsmen from out of town, so we asked very specifically, “if we have the groomsmen come in on Saturday before the wedding, and there is a problem with a tux not fitting, is there enough time to get another one in before our wedding on Monday?” Our concern was making sure everyone had fitting tuxes, and they don’t keep stock of their own – it’s through another company. We were told that would not be a problem at all. Long story short, we found out the Friday before that this was not the case and had to scramble to get in-towners fitted that day. As you can imagine, my husband and I were greatly upset by the incorrect information provided and the additional stress added to our plates. When we went in, who was at the counter but Linda! When we approached her about the situation, she had the nerve to wave her hand at my husband to completely invalidate his frustrations and tell him about how he was wrong. Instead of offering calmness and support, she simply blamed the person who told us the wrong information, that they “knew better,” and that we basically have to just deal with it. Fortunately for us, we had a wonderful lady helping the groomsmen and my husband try on the tuxes. I wish I could remember her name. She was thin and older with long hair. She was a dream in working with the guys, and it helped calm down the tension we had when coming in that was exasperated by Linda. The 3 tuxes fit and did not need any alterations. We still had to hold our breath on Saturday for waiting to see if the other 3 tuxes fit. Only one needed small alterations, thankfully. I was able to explain my concerns to Mary Beth, and she was gracious as always. We returned the tux after the wedding with no issues. In a nutshell, I recommend going to the CWC, but only working with Mary Beth, Chad, or the thin, older, long-haired woman in order to get personable and professional service. Those three are 5 star worthy.
