I never thought my wedding would have been so beautiful and amazing but thanks to the owner Linda Heimsath, staff and all around beauty of the winery itself my special day was perfect!!! As everyone knows planning a wedding can be stressful but Linda sat down with me and helped me plan and create the perfect day! She never rushed me on a decision, all she cared was that my day was the way I wanted. I was really wanting an outside wedding under that beautiful gazebo looking out at the water, but of course two days before my wedding it snowed and having grandparents coming I couldn't have them sit outside. This was very stressful for me but the people at Copper Dock had it covered they rearranged things inside so that I still had a beautiful ceremony and then while we were taking pictures fixed it again for the reception! If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have known what to do. Starting with the day of they have an amazing bridal suite for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready in so you already feel special from the moment you get there! The hole place was beautiful I got so many amazing pictures and videos even though it was cold. Plus the atmosphere is so peaceful being in a wooded area with a pond that has a fountain, I mean what more could you ask for? Food, yeah that was amazing also, we did a tasting before and got to pick which was so hard because everything was so good! Especially their Ham and mashed potatos for me I love food and if that was off I wouldn't have been happy but wow they really know what they are doing in the kitchen because it was fantastic! Gosh if I could get married again I wouldn't change a thing! My day was perfect because of Copper Dock Winery and the people that run it!! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and a special thank you to Linda who has done an amazing job since buying the winery in 2018! My wedding wouldn't have been so amazing without you!!
Dream of it now - saying "I do" to your best friend overlooking a gorgeous pond under a stunning outdoor pavilion that can accommodate all your friends and family. Words cant even describe how the property created the most stunning backdrops for my photographer to shoot with. Then having your first dance in a 5 star reception center after eating a delicious first meal as Mr. and Mrs.
I experienced the most magical day EVER thanks to Copper Dock Winery. Completes exceeded my expectations. The wedding venue team was incredible and the owner went above and beyond to accommodate whatever we needed. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding. As the bride, I was able to enjoy the day instead of stress about it. The bridal room is spacious, the property is spectacular and it was everything wanted for an outdoor indoor wedding. My guests are still talking about how amazing the dinner was. The best part about planning my big day with them is I was able to rent all that I needed from table cloths to center pieces to all of my tables. They truly made it so easy to plan.
Check out my photos I posted on their FB page to get a visual. This venue is worth a drive to check out FOR SURE
I LOVE Copperdock!!!! The owner, Linda, is absolutely an angel. She’s so kind and works with you for whatever you want. My sister came in to town last minute and wanted to see the venue so I called Linda last minute and she was very flexible with me and did everything she could so me and Linda were able to show her the venue. Not only will she work with you for anything you need but through my friends I’ve discovered she’s stayed almost all night before events decorating the reception hall for clients. She does BEAUTIFUL work. Food is so good! AND it’s very decent pricing for as convenient as they are. On top of that, the setting is absolutely gorgeous. I’m so beyond happy/excited/relieved for my wedding day just because she goes above and beyond for every single client. She’s passionate about her work and it shows. October 26th I will be standing under a beautiful wedding pavilion, surrounded by tall beautiful trees in all fall colors, and overlooking the water.
I would never recommend doing business with Copper Dock. My fiance and I went to meet with the owner. Everything was going great, we loved everything about it. However, we had hear horrible things about their food. We asked if we could have a tasting and we were told no. You want me to pay $20+/plate and not taste the food until my wedding day? No thank you. When asked if we could have outside catering we were told no. How do you not offer people a tasting?? Come to find out, a friend went there for a wedding consult and they were told they could use an outside caterer. Do not tell one couple one thing and another couple another thing. It's extremely poor business taste and I will no longer do business with you at your winery or your bar Flannigan's in Highland. Learn how to manage a business.
Copper Dock is a lovely venue. My photographer said this was one the most beautiful places for pictures he has ever been. The set up is really nice, with an outdoor pavilion for the wedding ceremony and an indoor reception hall that is only reserved for wedding parties. The price of the venue is very reasonable for the area and the owners cater for you so you don't have to search through 20 different caterers for the reception. All of our guests loved the wedding and reception and so did we. The only problem with Copper Dock is communicating with the owners. Many times, my text messages, phone calls, and emails weren't returned, so I had to repeatedly try to contact them. Also, a lot of the things communicated over email or text weren't actually written down, so when it came to the day of the wedding, the owner said I had never asked for certain things or I didn't have a certain number of guests, even though I did. They also have very strict rules. The contract goes into detail about everything so if they are upfront about them at least. I knew what I was getting into, but at the same time, I expected a little bit of flexibility since every bride is different. Figuring things out with the owners was difficult, but in the end, we had a beautiful wedding so I can't complain.
Overall I was pleased with my wedding reception. All the little things seem not to matter on that day. However, leading up to the wedding I did not feel fully satisfied with my experience. They have very poor customer service skills and a lack of organized. A bride who likes to be on top of things should consider another venue.
THEY SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED ABOUT HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE! They have a beautiful location for a wedding, but the staff are some of the rudest people we have EVER encountered. I would advise brides that if you want to have a wedding here be prepared for the most frustrating experience of your life! Of the owners, deal with Steve as much as possible because he was always friendly and helpful...Chris on the other hand was rude, condescending, and disrespectful to us and our wedding guests. Unfortunately she is the contact person for weddings. Some of our encounters included: her referring to me as "Princess", telling me I should change my wedding colors, making rude comments about other people's weddings ("I'm so tired of seeing wine bottles as decorations!"...You are a WINERY!), telling us we could do or have something and then changing her mind 2 days before the wedding (our table assignments), or acting like we never discussed something (because she never wrote anything down). She was extremely rude to my decorator, making her wait for 3 hours so she could drive over there to "approve" the materials she was using and then she lied to me saying, "I hope you aren't paying her by the hour b/c this took her 9 hours"...try 3 because you made her wait for so long! At the wedding she told my guests they were taking too much food! The staff tried to take people's drinks away while they were still sitting at the table. WATCH OUT FOR THE BARTENDERS ALSO...ten minutes after being told that wine was included in the open bar, our bartender charged several guests for wine! When two friends of min told him that they knew wine was included he argued with them telling them they had to pay...he did not back down until they said they were going to find my wedding planner and then he said, "Oh, I think you are right." My mother had to go over to the bar and yell at him during the wedding! I'm not sure if he is an idiot or if he was trying to steal money from my guests. It is really sad that our wedding is marred by these terrible experiences :(
