after trying without luck I feel like I have to provide a fuller perspective on our experience working together, as there are several important details that were omitted from your review. Firstly, it’s true that I took on your wedding at short notice after you lost your first planner—a situation that in hindsight might have signaled challenges ahead. I was empathetic and didn’t question the situation. I just wanted to help a young couple in love who just got duped. From our first meeting, I approached every aspect of your wedding with enthusiasm, focusing on delivering an experience aligned with our contract and, whenever possible, going beyond. For instance, I covered extra costs like the alcohol expenses personally, while you held off on reimbursement way past our stipulations. Your review raised concerns about design and attention, yet, given our timeline, my primary role was to execute your very specific and laid out vision as directed. While I did make a few practical and venue appropriate design and logistical recommendations, some were not followed, which limited my influence over certain aspects of the day. Additionally, a planner’s duties differ from those of a personal attendant or guest relations attendant and our contract was for coordination and execution, not constant proximity on the day of the event. As you know, I also continued advocating on your behalf with the venue, even when complications arose. Despite their contract’s clear terms, I stayed in close contact with them and did my best to assist you with vendor negotiations, regardless of any personal opinions. However, I could not control the venue’s response to the clerical error you sought to leverage for additional concessions. I hope this response clarifies a few of your accusations and gives a more even perspective on the experience as a whole. I stand by my dedication and the level of effort that went into ensuring you had a beautiful wedding day. And I can guarantee that you did. My reviews reflect my commitment and passion for what I do. It’s painful to see that someone would be willing to tarnish my livelihood even after I tried to reason with them directly. I guess you can’t please everyone all the time. I’m only human but I take every wedding, every feedback and every love story to heart. I’m sorry I wasn’t up to your standards and I hope it won’t affect what really matters in the end. You and your husband’s love. Even after being deeply affected by your review I naively thought I could reason with you « planner to planner » but then I realized you searched other sites to leave me a bad review on..purposefully, solely me. As the one who took on this adventure, I’ll be the one who gets all the slack. It was disheartening. But in spite of that I’ll continue to learn from each experience to better serve my future clients. And especially to better chose the ones who know what really matters.
