Matt at Cottontail Weddings & Events made my weekend the most magical weekend I could have. With the COVID restrictions in VA, Matt made sure that me and my groom had a stress-free weekend. We rented plates from him (I would highly recommend doing that) and made sure to have the tables set up and ready to go, so all we needed to do was put the decorations in the middle. He made sure to send me emails reminding me of my upcoming payments and what else needed to be done. He would also send me a layout of the room and allow me to visit during the business hours. He was flexible in changing our date due to COVID concerns and restrictions and even made sure the venue was spaced out enough for the guests to feel comfortable. It was such an amazing weekend and I would 110% recommend this venue.

The Cottontail Wedding Events venue is an elegant facility located in a prime location for weddings, celebrations or whatever first-class event you are planning. From the river district location to the beautiful chandeliers and the rustic feel of the building, it stands apart from any venue I’ve visited in this area. My wedding was originally scheduled for May 2 but was rescheduled to August 22 due to Covid-19. Everthing went off without a hitch. Matt and his staff are the greatest. He is composed, calm and easy to work with. He enjoys what he does and works hard at helping you get through that day. The venue might be considered a little pricey, but trust me, after adding up all the expenses of renting chairs, linens, setting up and breaking down, etc., you come out far better with just paying the one cost for everything. The Ballard Brewing venue next door is an added treasure. When my guests went over there for hors d’oeuvres, they were so comfortable enjoying the atmosphere that it was very difficult to get them to leave to come back to the reception. My guests are still raving about the Cottontail venue and the wedding. It is most definitely first class and I recommend it highly.

Even though my October wedding at Cottontail was canceled I need to write this review to let everyone know how great this venue is! I was so impressed by the flexibility of the space and how beautiful the restored warehouse would have been for my small classic wedding. Matt and his team were very accommodating and professional throughout the process and easily answered any of my questions while making me feel very comfortable. Even when I had to cancel the wedding Cottontail was very sympathetic to my difficult situation which absolutely meant the world to me. If I have the opportunity in the future I will book Cottontail again in a heartbeat!

I had me wedding during the pandemic and it was still very beautiful, elegant, and fun! I couldn’t ask for a better day.

My husband and I absolutely loved having our wedding at Cottontail Weddings and Events. We loved Cottontail for two main reasons: the venue space and the staff. 1) The venue is absolutely stunning! The brick walls, wood floors, and chandeliers create a perfect blend of industrial and chic. In addition, the black tables and black chairs perfectly complemented that look. I repeat, Cottontail is STUNNING. 2) We loved working with Matt and his staff! Matt was incredibly kind and helpful through the whole experience. He went above and beyond to provide us with a wonderful day! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Cottontail and I would happily recommend them to anyone in the area! As the mother of the bride whose daughter lives abroad, I was tasked with many wedding details. We were thrilled with our experience at Cottontail! It is a wonderful, beautiful venue and all our guests (from 7 countries) thought it was amazing! Matthew Switick could not have been more accommodating and it was a pleasure to work with him. It was a perfectly wonderful experience!

I am so happy I chose Cottontail! Everything was perfect – the venue, the staff, the location. Matt and his team went above and beyond during every step of the process, from vendor recommendations to seating plan layouts, and Matt even built the wooden frame for the altar. My husband and I love Danville's River District, so Cottontail was the perfect setting with its historic architecture, exposed brick and wooden beams. It was an added bonus to have Ballad Brewing attached to the building so we could utilize their space for the cocktail hour. Our guests, even those who traveled all the way from England, had nothing but amazing things to say about the day, and I cannot thank Matt and his team enough for helping to create such a wonderful memory!

Matt and I are personal friends, and he contacted me as soon as he learned of my engagement. When my wife and I visited the venue, I looked at her in the eyes and we both knew we loved Cottontail for its unique personality and environment. Whenever we had a question (and we had many random questions), Matt was quick to answer. He helped make the planning process as smooth as it could be, and he and the staff were the real MVPs during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. They set up the wedding exactly the way we envisioned it and helped make the transitions throughout the wedding day as smooth as possible. Additionally, my father told me about how Matt went out of his way to accommodate and care for him when his asthma acted up an hour before the wedding. Matt's generosity, composure, and attention to detail are truly unparalleled, and we are truly blessed and thankful for Matt and his team for all of their hard work and dedication. I certainly would recommend Cottontail to anyone who lives in Virginia or North Carolina and is planning to have a wedding or host a special occasion. Most of our family and friends hail from all across the state of NC, so it was a manageable drive for most of our family and guests, especially if they lived around Greensboro. For reference, Danville is approximately 2-hours from Charlotte (my hometown) and 1.5-hours from Raleigh. Thank you again to Matt and his team for making our wedding a surreal, unforgettable day full of memories that we will surely cherish for the rest of our lives.

The Cottontail staff was amazing to work with! Matt is super friendly and helpful. He was able to work with us to help us bring our vision to life and was willing to let us try some new things that had never been done at the venue. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect setting for our special day! We would highly recommend holding your events at Cottontail!

Excellent venue. They are very responsive, willing to meet with you at any time, great at helping you plan but also carrying out your specific vision. All the pictures turned out great. The brewery next door is also great for cocktail hour. We had 120 guests and the venue was a great size for it.

I have not one single regret choosing Cottontail as my wedding venue! Matt and his team were so accommodating and a dream to work with! From the little details to the big ones, everything was amazing! The pricing for the space to the time ratio is phenomenal and a lot of venues don’t offer that. I was virtually care free during the planning process and was able to relax and enjoy my wedding day! Search no more if you’re looking for an elegant yet modern space to hold your event!

I was so blessed to be able to have my wedding at Cottontail! From the moment I got engaged, I was on the hunt for the perfect venue, and Cottontail exceeded my dreams and expectations. Matt was professional, supportive, and accommodating from our first tour all the way through my wedding day. Cottontail was beyond amazing! The venue is gorgeous and Matt and his team are so hospitable. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and everyone is still raving about the venue and how amazing it all was. Not to mention the amazing places to be photographed on your big day! I absolutely loved my experience with Matthew and Cottontail. From day one, I was so taken with Matt. He is so warm, welcoming, and calming. He was there for every step of the process and then some. I can truly say that he went above and beyond for us and he made our wedding day so so wonderful. I remember walking into Ballad next door to anxiously await our first meeting with Matthew. Seeing the mirror image of Cottontail in Ballad got me so excited, but entering Cottontail itself was breathtaking. The renovations that Matthew and his wife did to this space are absolutely gorgeous. The efforts that were put into making this venue so beautiful are the same efforts that Matthew and his team put into each and every event they host at Cottontail. Cottontail was the first venue that we visited and I will tell you that it is a stunning venue, but Matthew was the reason we were so taken with Cottontail and he is why all of the other venues that we visited afterwards did not hold a candle to it. They did not give us the same feeling of excitement, confidence, and comfort that we got from Matthew. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Through the year of planning Matthew became our best resource and he had such a major role in our lives and our whole wedding planning process. Matthew made wedding planning and execution easy. Most couples have never done this before and there is no measure of how stressed and overwhelmed the process of planning a wedding makes you feel, but I will tell you that Cottontail is the best decision that I made. If you want a beautiful venue with a vendor that truly cares about you, does anything they can to help alleviate your stress, and someone with great experience, Cottontail is your venue!

Cottontail Wedding & Events is an excellent choice for a wedding Reception venue! The venue is stunning, centrally located, and has countless decorating possibilities. Matt was there for us every step of the way in the planning process and carrying out everything the day of! He was there first thing in the morning to help us unload and offered some of his own pieces for decorations (which we loved!) He even went to the store and got us additional small supplies we needed (such as command strips). He was there throughout the dinner and the party, making sure everyone was happy, ice was filled, trash picked up, and all was running effortlessly for us and our guest. Our guests have continued to rave over how remarkable the reception venue was. My husband and I are so thankful we picked Cottontail Wedding and Events for our wedding reception venue! It could not have been more picture-perfect!

I can NOT write a review that will do this place justice. Not only is the space beautiful and incredibly versatile, but Matthew and Shelley will go out of their way to make sure your day is beyond your wildest dreams. Living in Charlotte, my husband and I decided to look outside of our local area due to the outrageous average cost. I stumbled upon this venue and could not have been happier. The space looked incredible and Matthew went out of his way to meet every time I was in town. He even met with our officiant to get him bonded in the state of Virginia so that he could marry us. I'm still in awe of this venue and the staff and could not recommend it enough.

I cannot recommend Matthew and Cottontail Weddings and Events enough. I planned my whole wedding from out of state, and Matthew was so helpful and nice throughout the whole process. Not only did he answer all of my crazy emails, but also recommended vendors in the area for me to check out. We never would have found our awesome caterer, 24 Blackbirds Cafe, without him. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and that was all thanks to Matthew and his team. If I could do it all again I would. The space is nothing less than beautiful. I can't wait to get my photos back.

Matt and his team are incredible!! He was always available when I called and gave good advice/answers to all my questions. Not only is the staff amazing the venue is BEAUTIFUL!! The absolute best venue and venue manager out there! Matt and his team are incredible! They will go above and beyond to make your event a success! Matt is flexible and accommodating! I highly recommended the venue to anyone who is looking to put on a spectacular event!

From the time my future son-in-law asked for my daughter’s hand in marriage, my daughter began to look for venues. She quickly found out she loved the rustic, industrial look. However, this type of venue can be quite expensive and entail restrictions ranging from number of guests to preferred caterers. These restrictions forged her to continue looking for the venue where her wedding day could be her dream. Then she found the Cottontail in Danville, Virginia. This venue provided her the rustic, industrial charm she desired and Matthew, the owner, worked with her on every detail to give her the wedding of her dreams. He was amazing. Michael Moore, also located in Danville, served as the wedding director and decorator, transforming the venue from not only rustic and industrial but to absolute perfection. He has the unique ability to grasp the bride’s vision and bring it to life. Guests commented that Sydney’s wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. We also had the reception at the Cottontail and Ben Wright served as the DJ. He made the reception fun and kept it flowing flawlessly. All the credit belongs to these guys for making my daughter’s wedding day truly a dream come true.

This place is a DREAM!!! I had my wedding here two weeks ago and could not have been more pleased with everything!!!! Plus, I have heard nothing but positive feedback from my guests since, saying how much they loved it!!! I mean, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! We did our cocktail hour in the brewery located adjacently and the guests LOVED that -- such a fun place for the guests to mingle! Matthew was so much help!!! He is kind and accommodating and wants the customers and guests to be happy!!! I so enjoyed working with him over the past few months! I cannot put into words how PERFECT this place is for your wedding! 100% pleased, no complaints!

I explored a few venues in my hometown of Danville, VA to host my wedding. I was drawn to Cottontail Weddings and Events through my online research. But, once I walked into the building on my first visit, I knew Cottontail was THE ONE. As the website reads, Cottontail has “rustic charm with a modern twist”. Having lived in the Washington, DC Metro for 20 years, I wanted a location that merged my rural upbringing with my current city life. Cottontail exceeded my expectations. Matt and Shelly (the owners) are the consummate professionals. They are very responsive and accommodating and I look forward to working with them over the next several months in planning my wedding.
