Crestwicke Country Club

The food is amazing and the service leading up to our wedding was amazing. On our wedding night we were told we could add an extra on to the 4 hours that they give you. We asked the night of and they couldn’t because “the bar tenders had to be in St. Louis the next morning” who cares!! Really? I would reccomend going elsewhere where you can get more for your money and better customer service.

Overall, we ended up being beyond happy with our reception at Crestwicke. It is an absolutely beautiful location. In my opinion, it is THE single best reception location in Bloomington-Normal. Nowhere else even compares. However, I had to take one star away from my rating for them, because we did have a couple bumps in the road along the way. When we booked (15 months in advance), we were promised by the catering manager not to worry about the fact that our contract didn't lock in meal prices because they "never change". Well, of course, that catering manager retired, and was replaced by a member of the staff who had no clue what he was doing. The meal prices were promptly raised. It was a little scary trying to figure out how we were going to raise the extra money to cover the increase, since we had already sent out our invitations by then. We had no choice but to pay the higher price, we were bound by the contract. Luckily, the initial replacement catering manager was soon replaced by another new catering manager, who I believe is a member of the owner's family. She is a very, very, nice young lady who is very organized and dedicated. She is quick to respond, very helpful and flexible. She renewed my faith in Crestwicke, and as I mentioned before, our reception turned out just amazing. Overall, I'm really happy with my experience with them. No wedding is without little issues like these, and although it cost us quite a bit more than we expected, it was all worth it in the end!

From the time of booking them to the time of our wedding they went through three different coordinators and we were never notified of the change. We found out by emailing one of them a question and another one responding. The two separate dining rooms can also be an issue. The two little issues we had was first, when the bridal party arrived before the reception to take pictures out on the golf course there was confusion as to where we could or could not go. Our photographer had worked out there multiple times on different weddings with our initial coordinator and the current one didn't seem to know where we could or could not go so she basically gave us the least amount of freedom instead of finding out. The other issue was with our food. We clearly labelled who got what at the sit-down dinner, but they started handing out pork to all those who had requested ribeye. They corrected it (because I told them) within the first two tables, but then there wasn't enough pork left at the end for those who ordered that. However, they have a wonderful view and the food itself was spectacular. So, some pros and some cons overall.
