We worked with Lindsay and Nick on our wedding. After cancelling our original venue and completely changing our wedding plans to a smaller and intimate ceremony, we found Cross Timbers Winery and they helped us still make our day just as special. They were readily available for us when we had questions by email or when we dropped by. Rain is every bride's nightmare on her wedding day and luckily it held off until after our ceremony! Still, I never once worried about our options as Nick made sure to handle our back up plan and kept an eye on the weather up through the morning of our day to keep me informed. This venue was perfect for us and I would so highly recommend it to any other couple, whether your wedding is large or small. We can't wait to come back and drink some wine on our anniversary.
I can't say enough good things about Cross Timbers as a wedding venue. Lindsay was nothing but professional and answered all of my many, many questions via email very promptly. The BBQ was very good and the staff was wonderful at my April 2018 wedding. I have zero complaints and would absolutely recommend Cross Timbers to any bride looking for a reasonably priced but super cute and classy location.
My daughters wedding was early March and the venue was exactly the Texas look she was going for. The gazebo outside was the perfect place for the wedding ceremony and the "big red barn" was more than spacious enough for the reception. Lindsay was great to work with and was very accommodating. She was quick to return emails, she answered A LOT of questions and was there on the day to help in every way!
We had our wedding here in early June 2017, and from the second I visited this venue, I knew it was perfect for us. My husband and I were after a venue that was reasonably priced as well as casual yet classy, and Cross Timbers met all of those requirements. We mainly worked with Lindsay and she was so incredibly helpful through the entire process. She made sure everything went smoothly on the day of. We knew what things cost up front; there were no hidden fees or surprises. We chose the BBQ meal and it was really delicious. This venue is definitely a perfect choice for a couple looking for a rustic, but classy aesthetic.
Cross Timbers Winery is one of our favorite places to visit in DFW, which is why we chose this venue for our wedding/reception. Not only is the wine delicious but the staff is welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for a wedding, bridal/baby shower, or work party venue I highly recommend this establishment.
We are so grateful to Don and opening his doors for us and our wedding! We wanted that special, unique place that would be around forever. Don was so fun and easy to work with. We can not wait to visit and have wine tastings on our anniversary!!
Cute rustic venue, great people to work with, food is amazing - all my guests raved over the food and service! Couldnt have asked for more and it fit in my very small budget! I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS VENUE!
These people are absolutely fantastic. It is a mom and pop kind of place with a very relaxed atmosphere and flexibility in the planning process. Don, the owner, is a darling man who has become a personal friend. He treated me as if he was my grandfather and consistently aimed to make my dream day come to life. The venue is stunning and comfortable, with plenty of outdoor space for guests to disperse among during the reception. The barn is beautiful and large and fully air conditioned. My he gazebo was the perfect stage for our ceremony, and all the personal decorations they allowed us to use made my wedding an absolute dream. I'm so happy I found cross timbers. I can't wait to someday take our kids back there and show them where mommy and daddy were married. Couldn't be happier with these people and the atmosphere they provided for me and my guests.
I first considered Cross Timbers Winery when I went and met two people planning their high school reunion there and they were so excited and happy about it. Aimee was genuine about making our reception a perfect, stress free day. She met with me when I needed her, no questions asked. The property is well kept and picturesque, no problem with parking, very reasonably priced and delivered an experience that far exceeded our expectations. We had more than enough room for our 140 guests. Aimee provided and had ready everything she promised the venue would provide - and more! Aimee brought up her personal decorations for a wedding the weekend before, and allowed us to use them as well. They use their own caterers and the food was exceptional and affordable. The bar and wine tenders, and wait staff were phenomenally friendly, helpful, and included in the cost - our beer tender was extra, but reasonable, didn't even notice an extra cost and Elena was worth every penny. Our pictures on the property turned out amazing. Every shot was unique and not your cliche ballroom look. They have a side room for the wedding party with plenty of room. They brought us cheese and crackers while we waited. Aimee provides a list of recommended vendors. Our only mistake was choosing a DJ who was not on the list. He was unfamiliar with the property and bumbled about with speakers and such. Would recommend using someone Aimee recommends. Our original quote Aimee gave us when we booked the venue months in advance did not change - except for any extras we added later. Overall an amazing experience, Aimee helped bring my dreams to life and was with me every step of the way to create my vision. The facility works well with rustic, vintage, and traditional wedding themes. I highly recommend giving them a look. Their quality, service and price can not be beat.
Do not have your wedding here unless you want to be stressed and upset on your wedding day. Aimee, the wedding coordinator on the property was wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating however the owner, Don is very unpleasant. Any time I called for questions and Aimee was out, he would contradict anything that Aimee said we could do or have at the ceremony. When we arrived for our rehearsal, they were mowing the lawn and it was so loud we could barely hear one another talk. They should have scheduled this at a different time considering I made the appointment way ahead of time to do our rehearsal. We were made several promises that were not fulfilled or followed through by the venue. Aimee was out sick the day of the wedding and the venue was not completely setup either so my poor bridesmaid had to run around breaking a sweat before the ceremony trying to fix the things they didn't do already. As far as Don goes, he told me I had to sit in the house by myself for 45 minutes and wouldn't let anyone else come in and sit with me. I don't think it is right that I was forced to wait for 45 minutes by myself in a tiny room while I watched my bridesmaids and groom get turned away from coming to see me. It was an awful feeling to start the ceremony out that way and so frustrating. Thank god it didn't rain because we were told we could use the barn for indoor setting as a backup if it rained but according to the owner, that was never part of the deal and would not be allowed because there was another party already setup on the 1st floor of the barn. Although my wedding turned out beautiful, it was not thanks to the venue and I didn't let Don ruin my day. I would not recommend this place to anyone for their wedding or event.
My fiance & I were looking at Cross Timbers for a venue, and overall we loved the facility. However, when we started to ask about doing our own catering (a friend offered to do it at cost), that's when things started to go downhill. We're having an afternoon wedding and wanted light hors d'oeuvres. Cross Timbers was going to charge $20 a person for cheese and crackers. If we had our own caterer, we were told Cross Timbers would still charge $15 a person, and the caterer had to have $3 million in insurance. The owner emailed me and said that their profit comes from their catering, and if they can't have that money, they're not interested in a group coming out. I met Don in person, and he seemed like a really nice man, so the rude email shocked me. We decided to go with another venue. After that, I was at the florist I'm using and commented on a picture I saw of Cross Timbers. She said that during a wedding she was working at Cross Timbers, she and her staff returned to the venue after the wedding at the time she had arranged to collect her things and clean up. The owner was pushing guests out and making them carry her stuff out to the parking lot. The wedding wasn't over the time they had reserved, either. He was pushing them out early. My florist said that before the wedding, they were very reluctant to work with her for anything, even unlocking the barn so she could go measure stuff.
I think the facility is gorgeous, but I really don't think the owner/management should be in the wedding business. They are not customer/bride friendly at all. I can't vouch for what a wedding there would be like, but if you're willing to put up with rude people and money isn't an issue, this might be a good venue for you.
Aimee and her staff made this wonderful location even better than I could have dreamed. Although my vision was different from any event that had ever been held there, Aimee let me run with it and I was so pleased with the result. I used the entire outdoor space (had to bring in lighting) and had perfect weather to use the fire pit, the gazebo for games, and the lawn for dinner seating. I am still amazed at how gorgeous it all was and wish it could happen all over again!
Loved the outdoors. It had a romantic setting.;The winery staff/manager and the owner are very disconnected in their communication with one another. For example I had gotten approval for the decor design from the manager and she failed to communicate this to the owner. So on the day of the wedding the owner went into the reception area and took off ALL of my candles on the table! It was very under-handed in addition they failed to return my unused votives until I specifically asked for them back. In addition I felt during the entire reception the staff and the owner stood around the bar and scrutinized my guest and I the entire evening. Very unprofessional. They promised many services up-front but did not deliver them. Initially the manager said she would be there the day of the wedding to coordinate events such as queing the musicians help with centerpiece setup telling the guest where to go whats on the menu etc...She DID NOT do any of that! And the one task I ask her to do was to turn on the light in the gazebo outside for the ceremony and she did not do that either! Consequently my pictures for the ceremony was dark and the Justice of the Peace could hardly read his script! I would warn ANY bride who is creative and can think outside of the box to NOT employ these people. The owner is very set in his old ways and does not tolerate change well or anything more than one tiny centerpiece and one candle.
