We worked with Kathy to have our wedding block at the Crowne Plaza! She was such a pleasure to work with and couldn't have been more accommodating. From beginning to end of our stay we had a lovely time and made great memories at the Crowne and look forward to staying there again.
I am rating this hotel after having my wedding there this summer. I do not like to leave bad reviews, but I would hate for a bride to go through what I went through. They were very unprofessional, unorganized, and there was a lot of miscommunications between workers. Because of the location in Chicago we had 3 different groups of people "crash" our wedding. We were supposed to have security during this. Some of these groups of people made my guests feel uncomfortable. We were also promised a honeymoon on us promotion two weeks after the wedding. We received it almost 2 months after the wedding. I also reached out to let the corporate office know of my troubles and no one ever got back to me. Spending thousands of dollars there I guess we weren't a priority.
The hotel is okay , but I would never recommend this place to a bride because of the lack of professionalism.
We used the Crowne Plaza Metro for our hotel room block and they were very accommodating! I only booked a few rooms to begin with and when I later wanted to add more rooms to my block, they easily and quickly updated my contract. Overall, the hotel is nice (will be really nice once the construction is over!) and has a great breakfast buffet in the morning to end the wedding weekend.
The Crowne Plaza was not a good decision for our wedding hotel block. They have a confusing system, and they messed up SEVERAL of our guests' reservations. The staff was rude as I tried to sort these problems out (prior to the wedding weekend). The accommodations were fine, once we finally got to the wedding weekend, but I would recommend looking elsewhere.
We blocked off rooms at this hotel for our wedding weekend. The hotel was suppose to give us a suite room for the group rate since we are the brides. That didn't happen. We were placed in a standard room. Our entire wedding party stayed at this hotel. And we weren't accommodated what so ever.
Wonderful location and venue. Reasonably priced, great attention to detail. They took fantastic care of us and our wedding reception. They did nice things like kept my flowers in the cooler for us over night, collected the arrangements that we were keeping and many other very thoughtful details.
I was a bit let down by the meal. I don't feel like it was quite the quality of a meal that we had at our tasting. But everyone said they thought the meal was great even the best friends said yes when we double asked them the day after. And that's what really counts!
Our upgraded room was wonderful and clean. Nice bed and bedding. Champagne and sparking cider in the room set out to perfection when we got to our room.
The event manager even took my gum from me when I went into the ceremony, she was all around wonderful, responsive and knowledgeable. The catering manager was communicative and top notch.
We had a vegetable and cheese tray during cocktails and they were fabulous.
The location is great, close to the vibe of the city but not in the mix. Half a block from the expressway it was convenient for out of town and suburban guests.
We were "very" pleased wit our wedding ceremony and reception. "Thank you Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro for a wonderful event."
My husband and I couldn't be more thrilled with how our reception turned out at the Crowne. Ashley was so great to work with and somehow knew exactly what we wanted! We used the hotel's upgraded linens for a little bit extra and it looked absolutely beautiful! The food was excellent and they were very easy to work with regarding special dietary needs (kids, vegetarian etc.). Absolutely would recommend to anyone!
I really liked working with Lena the sales manager. I thought the rooms were just ok, nothing fabulous. I selected this hotel for two reasons: 1) you don't have to pay for unused rooms and 2) it was a few blocks from our venue!
Thanks Crowne Plaza! Lena was the best! She was so accommodating and helpful. She was able to help us out in a pinch and make sure all my guest were treated with care. Plus- no fee for goodie bag distribution! Thanks so much!
Affordable(!) hotel venue in the downtown Chicago area. Convenient if you're having out of town guests. Paulette (catering manager) was fantastic to work with - very nice, helpful. Wedding ran smoothly - few minor hiccups, but all in all, great experience.
The rooms at the Chicago Metro are very modern and spacious. The beds are comfy and the shower/ bathtub combination looks really nice and had great water pressure. We had the honeymoon suite and our room was HUGE, had dark wood floors, a living room, a balcony, and two bathrooms.... for free since were the bride and groom. Love this place!
