Cru Catering

I highly recommend you use Cru for your food & bar catering! Cru catered the food & drinks for our wedding in April, and they knocked it out of the park. It is the best food I have ever tasted at a wedding (possibly even outside of a wedding). Months later, our guests are still raving about our food and telling us the same thing! From our first tasting with them, we knew we made the right decision. We picked a wide variety of southern food for the wedding, and it was all so delicious. Some standouts include the grape & brie tartlet, the pimento cheese biscuit, the shrimp & grits, and the chicken & waffle slider. For the drinks, the garden mule & the salt life were both huge hits with our guests. Cru was very accommodating when I tweaked our food and bar package multiple times, and I was impressed by their wine options (which is usually extremely limited). Reilly was very prompt in her communications throughout the whole process, and Cru’s prices were very reasonable for their high-quality food and drinks. My favorite part of hiring Cru was having one of their servers follow my husband & I around post-ceremony with our appetizers and favorite cocktails while we were taking photos. What top-notch service to ensure that we got to enjoy our own food and drinks while our guests were at cocktail hour! At the end of the night, they sent us home with a “bridal bag” including a sampling of every food item at our wedding. Even though we did manage to eat a bit during the wedding, this was the best treat at the end of the night! I highly recommend Cru Catering for your next big event.

Cru has some awesome food! Food was one of the most important aspects of our wedding. We are big foodies and knew we needed a good variety of top quality food options. Cru did not disappoint. Our tasting with them was excellent and they replicated it at the wedding. The presentation, taste, quality and staff were all excellent. We got so many compliments on the food. You will not be disappointed with Cru catering.

Cru Catering did an amazing job with the food for our wedding! So many guests raved about how delicious the food was. The service was also incredible. The chicken and waffle cones, she crab soup shooters, and fried green tomato appetizers were amazing. As a couple that very much enjoy’s good food we knew how important it was that we found a caterer that matched our passion! Boy did we find one. The professionalism shown from the initial tasting all the way through the night of the wedding was top notch! They provided a great baseline for lowcountry classics (shrimp & grits, pulled pork, and biscuit bar), but were also very mindful in adding an hors d’oeuvre from the brides hometown of St. Louis. The handmade toasted raviolis were fantastic! If food is important for your wedding I wouldn’t recommend anyone other than Cru Catering!

As a wedding planner, Cru ALWAYS makes my job significantly easier. I recommend them to every single client I have. They're simply the best from beginning to end. They are extremely professional and responsive. I have worked with the wonderful Reilly + Jenna mostly, but every member of their staff I have spoken to or partnered with on weddings days has been phenomenal. My clients are always blown away after their tastings, and their guests rave about the food during every single event! Their food is unique and exceptional. Their service is incredible, as well as efficient. I am always blown away at how quick they are! They are all very personable and engaging, and very much team players who are ready to go above and beyond for each and every one of their clients. If you're on the fence, just hire them. Don't take another second. You WILL NOT regret it!!! :)

Hands down the best food we have eaten in Charleston and we were so fortunate to have them be our caterer on our wedding day so we could share this food with our closet friends and family. We worked with Reilly from day one and she was the most helpful person throughout the entire process. What really impressed my husband and I was the openness and request for feedback on every dish and side we tried to ensure we get EXACTLY what we wanted. The team was very accommodating when we wanted to bring in our own special champagne for service and helped us craft some delicious signature cocktails. If there is something that you want that is not on their menu, they are more than willing to whip something up for you to try and get close your dream menu. Our guests are still talking about all the delicious food we had and I wish we could have been a guest at our own wedding to have indulged even more in all the different foods. As reference we got the beef tenderloin station, taste of the Caribbean station and a vegetarian paella station for the main meals, all of them unique and DELICIOUS! Trust me, you want these people to cater your food so you can focus on enjoying your wedding as you and your guests are guaranteed to love it.

We worked with Jenna and her team to plan our gorgeous wedding dinner in Hilton Head, SC. Jenna was a big help in getting us set up for a tasting and revising our menu as we tweaked our budget and our guest count. She was very thorough and never missed a detail. And when the day arrived, Cru showed up on time, worked so hard to get everything set up, and served us an incredible dinner. The food was amazing and the service was even better. We are thrilled that we chose Cru and we would recommend them to anyone who asks - and just because you aren't in Charleston, don't rule them out! We would've never guessed they traveled to us, and that they used a home kitchen to make our amazing dinner. They are rated so highly for a reason!

We hired Cru as our wedding caterer and I'm pretty sure the food is the only thing anyone talked about, it was SO GOOD! Reilly was so kind and so helpful throughout our entire planning process including multiple reschedules and menu changes (thanks COVID) and our day of event staff were so kind. The most AMAZING! When I got engaged I immediately knew I wanted Cru as our caterer as I've been a big fan of their restaurant for years. They are hands down the best in Charleston! The food at our wedding was out of this world (I'm still dreaming of those mini lobster rolls and mac and cheese from our cocktail hour) and all of our guest complimented the food saying it was the best food they've had at a wedding. Cru was beyond easy to work with (and accommodating when we had to postpone a year due to COVID) and made our day so so special. Book them--you will not regret it!!

Cru did the catering & bar for my daughter’s wedding & everything was fantastic. We started working with them a year out & had to postpone the original wedding date in April three weeks out due to Covid. They helped navigate all the new protocols & safety measures in June & the reception went off without any problems. All of our guests said it was the best “wedding food” they had ever had. My daughter commented on how attentive the staff was to her & her husband. If you are looking for a caterer Cru is one of the best!

AMAZING! When looking for a caterer for my wedding, others in the industry kept recommending Cru Catering...so we inquired and we never looked back! From the initial conversation with Jenna, I knew this caterer was the perfect fit. Communication with Cru was seamless. Everything was very clear and concise and they were flexible with our personal requests. When we went to the tasting, we died and went to heaven. The presentation, the service, the TASTE! Everything was outstanding. After our wedding our guests raved about the food, especially during cocktail hour. It was also a nice treat to be able to come home the night of our wedding with the complementary "bridal bag" which had a little bit of everything from our reception. The Cru experience was worth every penny!

Having been a patron of Cru's restaurant for years, I knew I wanted them to do the food for our wedding. From the tasting to the day-of, everything was fantastic and delicious. I had several people tell me it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The best part? Cru sent a bag of everything served at the wedding back with me and my now husband to our hotel for the evening so we got to try everything we missed and have second helpings of what we loved. It was a very nice and much appreciated touch. Oh! And our specialty cocktails - can't forget how delicious those were. Cru nailed exactly what we had in mind. Riley was so great to work with. You can't go wrong with Cru!

100% must have!! They have the worlds best shrimp & grits! I had their shrimp & grits at a wedding 5 years prior to mine and HAD to have them at mine. 5 years later, they did not disappoint! Everyone was raving about how amazing all the food was at our wedding (which never happens!). They did an amazing job and the staff was very professional all night! I would HIGHLY recommend!

Can’t we talk about amazing? When we started planning my husband insisted on the best for food and a caterer with shrimp & grits. We live out of state, so we had to book off of recommendations and Cru did not disappoint! At our tasting they amazed us with their flavors. On our wedding day and in the month since, everyone talks about their favorite foods, and everyone had different favorites. Across the board, the food was fantastic and impressed everyone! We also had bar services with Cru and they were incredibly attentive. The bartenders were so friendly. As the bride, I never had to ask for my drink, when I they saw me walking up, they started to prepare my order. Such great service! Incredibly professional with southern hospitality. Go to their flagship restaurant and you will be sold! I am very particular about food, and I am not easily impressed as I have been very fortunate to try some of the best restaurants in the world (I am saying this to emphasize how good their food is, not to be boastful). The tasting was spectacular and the staff was very open to making adjustments to the menu. All of my guests raved about the food! You will not be disappointed!

As a Charleston native, I had been familiar with Cru Catering for a long time. I had always heard they were the best of the best in catering. I never realized how good they really were until our tasting. They absolutely blew us away with the quality of their food - five stars! We wanted to do something different than stations, so we went with a family style dinner. The service and the food were impeccable! Top two favorites were definitely the beef short ribs and mini tacos. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them. Jenna ensured that my husband and I were well fed during the reception. After we finished photos, she followed us with a tray of appetizers and drink! She truly made us feel so special! I can’t recommend Cru enough. You will not regret your choice!

To work with Cru Catering and also be a Cru bride is and was an absolutely amazing experience. To know the behind-the-scenes work, effort, and commitment that is put towards every event is truly admirable. I was honored to have Cru cater my wedding. They truly made the event so memorable. All of our guests are still raving about the food and hospitality. Our guest list included seafood fanatics from New England, local southern cuisine lovers, and cattle farmers from Colorado. Each appetizer and station appealed to everyone’s taste buds and was an experience that created outstanding reviews. The best food I've ever had! All of my guests raved about the food also stating it was the best food they've ever had (especially the short ribs). We did late night mini pizzas and they were a HUGE HIT, they even put them in mini pizza boxes! The staff was incredible to work with!

Cru catering was hands down the best wedding food I've ever had. All our guests could talk about was the fried chicken biscuit. We planned out dream southern wedding from Boston and Cru was nothing short of incredible. Our wedding was just days after hurricane Irma, being so far away the event staff was incredible and supportive to us. With the impending storm Cru reassured us and committed to being able to host our wedding even if it had to be pushed back a day. They were available via email even during local evacuations. From start to finish the experience with Cru was wonderful.The tasting was unbelievable! They cook all food on site so may seem like a big cost initially but so worth it! Would highly recommend their firefly sweet tea drinks for cocktail hour. My guests couldn't say enough great things about the food and drinks! thank you so much cru!!!!

CRU - the whole team and every member are rock stars! We had a destination wedding at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall - so the whole kitchen had to be created, set up and in full operation under a pop up tent in the parking line. The CRU team killed it! Best execution of a caterer i have ever used. From helping with menu selection, tasting lunch of every dish, creating my own family recipes, speciality bar selection and speciality drinks, cocktail hours specialty drink, Full Out Pig Souther Pig Roast with all the sides, Amazing mac and cheese, amazing selection of appetizers, fresh local caught and sustainable pan seared fish, steak and truffle frites, hand passed shucked oysters, specialty small desserts and the wedding cake! the team of chefs and the CRU staff was amazing, accommodating, professional and very responsive to all our requests and criticisms. They were willing to change recipes to accommodate our tastes and desires. CRU is definitely the number on pick for caterer. Hands down a spectacular job!

If you're looking for a caterer/ bar service, stop now. Our guests are still talking about how delicious our food was at our wedding in July. Our his and hers cocktails were perfect. They say you barely eat on your wedding day, but with Cru in the kitchen, it was impossible for me to not indulge. We went with three stations: crab cakes, pecan crusted chicken, and white fish. All of it tasted incredible and we had a really hard time choosing sides because EVERYTHING they create tastes out of this world. Thank you Cru for such a delicious reception !

What can I say. Cru are No. 1 for a reason. From the moment we had our tasting, I knew they had to be our caterers. The food is truly amazing, there are so many options, they work with you to tailor the menu and were pretty flexible with us as our numbers (and guests' food allergies) changed. The staff on the day were fantastic and the food was amazing - better than I ever thought it could be, particularly being prepared in a catering tent on site more than 1.5hrs from Charleston. All of our guests raved about the food. Would recommend them again and again.

Casey with Cru Catering was beyond fabulous in catering our Rehearsal Dinner. Being in the event industry, I was very particular about all design details. She helped by sending me photos of all their chafers, trays, etc. She was also so kind about it since I know these were annoying requests. Day of, her staff catered to our every need and kept checking in with my fiance and I to make sure we were taken care of. Cru Catering has always been one of my favorites and I would recommend them every day of the week!

Cru Catering is hands down the BEST caterer in Charleston. We used Reilly Mariotti and her team for our wedding on May 20, 2017. My husband picked out all the food for our cocktail hour and reception and we couldn't get any of our guests to say anything other than it was some of the best food they have ever eaten. Guests raised in the south said their shrimp and grits were the best grits they have ever tried. Multiple guests said the oyster shooters were the best they ever had......many guests had 5-6 EACH (probably why we ran out!) We served Charleston She Crab soup as our first course and every guest I talked to raved about it. Reilly was a delight to work with and was very confident in what she was doing. She communicated to us well and was very professional, especially in the days leading up to our big day when several last minutes decisions had to be made. The service during our reception was unparalleled. Service was prompt, servers were very professional dressed and mannered, and the flow of dinner was very fluid. You can not do better than Cru Catering!

We got married in Cherleston a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I are HUGE foodies and we are very particular about how our food should taste like and how it should be presented. That's exactly why we went with CRU Catering. Their menu is very interesting - amazing flavorful meals and apps with a southern twist served flawlessly. The whole experience was fantastic - from working out the menu with Casey to our interactions with very friendly and well-trained staff. And the FOOD! Oh-my-God. I could not be happier with the choices that we made. The praline-crusted chicken breast alone is a tender moist piece of art and needs a Michelin star. Kids loved their kids' menu items. The pass d'oeuvres were to die for! If you want to impress your guests' taste buds at a VERY reasonable price - go with CRU!

Amazing food!!! Our guests could not say enough about the amazing food that we had at our wedding. Also it was amazing to be able to take a goody bag with us home that night considering we didn't really get to eat at the wedding. Everything was phenomenal!

AMAZING! Anyone that has eaten at Cru Cafe knows how incredible their food is and their catering is NO exception! Everything was so amazing, everyone was raving about the food and the service at our wedding! They paid special attention to my groom and I all night and it was all so amazing! They offer plenty of options and there was DEFINITELY something for everyone! We had a plated salad and then a buffet for the remainder of the food, which was all amazing and it was a great choice to have the plated salad so people could enjoy that before heading to the buffet! We also had Cru do our desserts and they were INCREDIBLE!! We had planned at first to get a cake and dessert elsewhere but after our tasting, we decided we couldn't resist the mini desserts that Cru offers and that was a GREAT decision for us. We had three different kinds of Macaroons and two other mini desserts and our guests LOVED everything! They also sent us to our hotel on our wedding night with a SIZEABLE to-go bag packed with a LOT of leftover food for us to enjoy for the next few days! I can't say enough incredible things about Cru and would recommend them to anyone in a HEARTBEAT! Could not have hoped for anything better!!

This catering company is unreal! Our top 3 most important parts of the wedding were: venue, band and food. Cru delivered big time! I have celiac disease so needed gluten free options. They were able to take mostly anything we wanted on the menu and make it gluten free. And some things (like the mac and cheese- you NEED to get this for your guests) I didn't want all of it to be gluten free so they made a small serving size just for me and everyone else had regular pasta. Our guests were raving about how awesome the food was and there were 0 issues. The staff is so friendly. They packed a cooler filled with leftovers and a mini bottle of champagne for us to have at the end of the night-- which we did and even had some for lunch the next day! I highly recommend hiring Cru to cater your wedding!

Our #1 priority for our wedding day was food + bar... Cru knocked it OUT OF THE PARK! Reilly Mariotti was wonderful to work with and executed everything beyond expectations. We knew of Cru from when we lived in Charleston so it wasn't much of a question now that we are out of state. Reilly accommodated us during planning visits, made great recommendations, answered all of my bajillion questions, and when the wedding day came our guests were raving about the food + bar. We had passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour followed by 3 stations for dinner: mac & chz, shoulderloin, and shrimp and grits. Everyone loved the stations and they each tasted absolutely incredible. We also added a late night passer of donut holes w/ choc sauce + french fries w/ ketchup and they were a HUGE hit! The staff + bartenders delivered excellent customer service and Reilly did a fantastic job of keeping the flow with our planner. Cru's food was one of the top raves we got feedback on from our guests and we could not be any happier! THANK YOU Reilly + team!!!

We were so happy we went with Cru. Not only was the food delicious, they were a pleasure to work with all along the way. We don't live in Charleston but they were able to accommodate us for a tasting the weekend we came down to visit. The tasting was so nice and personalized - we were able to taste the wine and beer options in addition to hors d'oeuvres, salad, and entree options. They even brought out mini desserts for us to sample! We had a chance to speak with the chef and customize our menu during the tasting. At the wedding, they served a lovely cocktail hour complete with passed hors d'oeuvres and a raw bar. We had a seated dinner with a salad and entree options of cedar plank salmon, angus strip filet, or roasted chicken/jumbo shrimp combo. All the guests loved their meals and complimented the food. For dessert, we had a wedding cake but also were planning to do an ice cream station. The vendor we hired for this fell through but Cru was extremely accommodating and willing to help us with this at the last minute. Our guests were well-fed and happy (as were we!). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Cru is the absolute best! I can't tell you how many guests at our wedding told us the food was "perfect." We were completely blown away by both Cru's service and culinary expertise! Cru Catering did a fantastic job with our wedding from start to finish. We had the pleasure of working with Reilly. As we were planning our wedding from out of town, they were responsive to all of our emails and requests. When we flew down to Charleston, we had a taste test and they generously allowed my husband and I, our wedding planner, and our parents to come (some places limit to just the couple). Our venue required them to bring a lot of their own cooking equipment in, and they did everything so smoothly and seamlessly from set up to take down. They stuck exactly to the reception timeline that we wanted, ensuring plenty of time for dancing after dinner! At the end of the night they had extras of everything packaged up and sent to our hotel room to enjoy. Their food is delicious -- really top quality that you would get in a fine dining restaurant. They were very accommodating for our vegetarian guests as well. I highly recommend Cru (and Reilly!)- they are really the best of the best for service and quality of food.

There's a reason this place has won best catering in the city year after year... The food is amazing! This was a destination wedding for us, so once we picked the venue, we checked out Cru the next day before we came back home. We ate there for lunch and were sold! We came back for our wedding tasting and couldn't have been happier with the extraordinary tastes and presentations. They had an app plate waiting for us right after we were done taking pictures, and to-go baggies for after. Awesome!

Terrible customer service! I was getting married in Charleston, and my first two attempts to contact them and set up a tasting were completely ignored. I only continued to contact them because my husband and his family is in the F&B and heard great things about them. By the time they finally got back to me I was flying into Charleston (from Guam) and they told me that they couldn't set up a tasting with such short notice. That's funny maybe if you would have gotten back to me you would have the time. When I told them how unhappy I was and how terrible the customer service has been they offered that we go to their restaurant and they would send a representative. The representative told us(myself and my mother-in-law) what to order, more food then two people would possibly need so I assumed they planned to take care of it them, nope didn't even offer a discount. DO NOT GO HERE THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE EVEN IF YOU ARE A CUSTOMER WHO IS GOING TO DROP THOUSANDS FOR CATERING SERVICES!!

Best catering company out there! Our guests cannot stop raving about Cru. They made a special vegan meal for my aunt and she thanked me so many times. It really meant a lot to her to be able to eat with everyone and she said it was some of the best food she has ever eaten. They were so easy to work with and I couldn't image using anyone else!

Cru was absolutely AMAZING! I already knew the food was awesome, but the service was unbelievable! Every single person we worked with before our wedding or on the day was so helpful and nice! The food being amazing was also a huge plus, the shrimp and grits, and mac and cheese were huge hits at the wedding! Cru definitely knows what their doing and perfected our beach house wedding! They gave us plenty of food of every single thing we had at the wedding to take home and try later. You could never go wrong with Cru!

I hired Cru Catering for my wedding last month (when Joaquin came to town) and couldn't be more impressed by the food and service on the actual day and year leading up to it. I didn't hire a wedding planner/day of coordinator so I wanted to make sure that I hired vendors that I trusted and knew would do a great job. Jenna Locke is the catering director that I worked with and she made my wedding planning life easier with her quick responses and recommendations. She was wonderful to work with! I got married at the Conservatory at Magnolia Plantation where there isn't a kitchen but that didn't stop them from serving delicious food. Oh and did I mention that they served this delicious food in hurricane weather?! A huge thank you to Jenna, Eric Hansel and the staff that evening for being there and providing excellent service! I am so happy I chose Cru to cater my wedding. They are the best!

I cannot say enough about this catering company. Our daughter was married 10/2/15 during Hurricane Joaquin. The food was divine, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. They helped us pack the car up afterwards in POURING rain.....they were so professional and positive. We are very, very grateful.

CRU was absolutely the BEST choice for our wedding! I think we got more compliments on the food than I did on my dress!! EVERYTHING was absolutely mouthwatering and the staff were professional and courteous. Wherever I went during cocktail hour, even doing pictures, an appetizer tray was never far away. Many of our guests had heard of CRU and had wanted to eat at their restaurant and were absolutely thrilled to be able to sample their food at the wedding. Best food I think I've ever eaten...EVER!!!

Cru is Exceptional! We were married at Legare Waring House on Apr 24, 2015. Our wedding planner, Sara Cavallon, referred us to Cru Catering. We live in Baltimore, so it was crucial to make a well-informed decision during our limited visits to Charleston. From the start, Jenna from Cru was outstanding! She listened to all of our requests and sought to understand what we really wanted our guests to experience. She gave great suggestions and was sensitive to our budget and guest list. When we attended the tasting, we knew from the reviews and the word around town that the food was going to be good. But, we were not prepared for how AMAZING the food actually was! We were all blown away! The main chef and the pastry chef came in several times during the tasting, always willing to take feedback and make suggestions to develop the perfect menu. We decided to have passed appetizers for the cocktail hour, 4 stations, an assortment of pastry desserts, and late night passers. We felt like we were in great hands after the tasting! A couple of my husband's requests were to make sure all food was served hot and that our guests wouldn't have to wait in long lines at the stations. Jenna and Cru Catering managed these requests and beyond! All food was served hot and our guests did not have to wait! The whole staff from Cru was professional, hard working, and conscientious! They were just fantastic!! For the stations, we ended up going with beef tenderloin, 4 cheese Mac and cheese, a pan seared white fish, and a pig roast chef station. Our guests were blown away, professing to us that this was some of the best food they ever had, let alone the best wedding food! They raved about the Mac and cheese station and said the fish was out of this world! And all of the sides that came with the stations (and there were many) were cooked to perfection! After dinner, the macaroons and pastries were a delicious treat. Our guests loved the mini cheesesteaks and the chicken and waffles served late night! After the reception, we got back to our hotel to see a whole cooler bag filled with everything they served at our wedding and even had a bottle of champagne included! Cru is a truly remarkable catering company! Jenna and team are exceptional, and the food was out of this world!! Our guests were so thrilled and that made us so happy!! My daughter and son-in-law decided upon Cru as the caterer for their wedding reception, and they couldn't have made a better choice. The food exceeded my highest expectations, and all of the guests agreed. It was expertly prepared, presented, and served. Having eaten several times at the parent restaurant in Charleston, Cru Cafe, I can honestly say that the offerings of Cru Catering are as creative and delicious as any restaurant. Aside from the food, the service provided by the Cru staff was exceptional. From the planning process in selecting the dishes to be served, through the clean up after the event, the staff performed flawlessly. Cru's catering director was on site throughout the evening, and made sure that everything was satisfactory at all times. Her help before the event in the planning process was indispensable, and she replied to inquiries and concerns with patience and grace. I would recommend Cru without reservation to anyone planning an event where food is being served. They are simply the best in the business, period. Were I planning another event in the Charleston area, I would go straight to Cru, no questions asked.

Other than the venue, the most important thing for our wedding was to have delicious food. I have been to my fair share of weddings and most of the time, the food is, well, forgettable. For our wedding, I wanted to show off the fabulous food of Charleston, while incorporating cuisine that spoke to our Chicago/North Carolina/Florida roots. I found it in Cru Catering who developed a menu fitting exactly what we wanted. They also made adjustments for my sister’s non-beef/pork diet and my mother’s gluten-free diet. Following the wedding, all our guests were commenting about how wonderful the food was. It was the perfect accompaniment to our day.

Best wedding food in Charleston. I cannot say enough good things about Cru. We worked with Jenna for our 210 person seated dinner at Hibernian Hall. With a seated dinner, it was very important to me to have a catering company that really knew what they were doing in Hibernian since it doesn't have a kitchen and I wanted everyone's dinner hot and timely. After extensively searching Wedding Row, SMP, etc, I found two that seemed to have done more sit down dinners than anyone else at Hibernian and I scheduled a tasting with both to decide who had the best food. Cru was the easy win, with the competition being overly salty among other things. We did a combination of stations and passed appetizers during cocktail hour downstairs before moving upstairs for a seated dinner. The shrimp and grits station was a hit with our guests, most of them being from other parts of the country. When we went upstairs for our dinner, Cru managed to quickly but discreetly distribute salads and then entrees throughout dinner, not disturbing speeches or dances but all the while keeping the entrees hot and the presentation perfect. To make things harder, we had three different entree selections to keep straight. I was a huge fan of the fish entree with lobster risotto, while my husband insisted on incorporating Cru restaurant's Parmesan truffle fries into the beef option. All our guests were shocked at how amazing the food was and some guests even asked for seconds which were accommodated. At the end of the night my husband's father told me he never got any shrimp and grits (because he was chatting) which was the food he was most excited about. The cocktail hour station had been cleaned up and the food was gone but someone went back to Cru's North Charleston kitchen to make him a new batch. AND when we made it to our room we found a bag of two of everything from the evening, even all three entrees plus all three cake flavors, waiting for us to enjoy late night and for breakfast!

We got married a few weeks ago and the guests are STILL talking about the food! Cru was exceptional! Prior to our wedding everyone told us we would not get to eat the food, a prospect that was very disappointing. What I loved is that Cru made sure we were able to eat everything!!! After the ceremony while we were taking a few pictures they came over with drinks and canapés. During the reception they made sure a plate of wonderful delights was placed in front of us! My favorite was the mac-n-cheese...amazing!!! We have attended a lot of weddings, even one in Italy and Cru is by far the best food we have ever had at a wedding and our guests confirmed that! Everything was perfect, right down to the goodie bag we left with and the food was even better the next day!

Cru Catering was the talk of the town at our wedding! They are far from your average "wedding food" that everyone always complains about. Everything from start to finish was a great experience. At our tasting they were flexible and happy to make changes for us. The Mac and Cheese bar was a huge success and people could not stop raving about it.

CRU is THE BEST FOR WEDDINGS. Leading up to the wedding Jenna worked with our event rental to make sure we had sufficient glassware/tables etc as our numbers changed. We planned our wedding from afar which can be a bit stressful when working with vendors, but Cru made it a breeze. Jenna was the catering manager handling our wedding and she was incredibly professional and extremely hard working! We are big foodies and so food was a major priority for us. We wanted to highlight "southern/low country" food at our wedding for our out of town guests that were attending, may of whom have never been to Charleston. The food is exceptional and they deliver on absolutely everything they say they would. Our guests were floored at the quality of the food and their presentation and service was impeccable. We opted for dinner stations as opposed to sit-down dinner service and our guest really took advantage by revisiting the stations multiple times throughout the night. A rundown of our food... Cocktail hr passed (mini cheesteaks, fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, lamb lollipops, gazpacho, ham biscuits). We also had a raw bar that was presented beautifully! Our guests are still talking about the mini cheesteaks but everything was fantastic. Dinner Stations.. Mac & Cheese Station, Crab Cake Station, Shrimp & Grits Station, Carving Station, Salad Station, Veggies. ABSOLUTELY have the shrimp & grits and the mac & cheese. Everything was delicious but I honestly think 75% of our wedding guests commented on loving those two items. Since we had such a good experience with Cru leading up to the wedding we hired PIT CRU for our day after barbeque. They knocked it out of the park with that as well. Our guests are still raving about the brisket and pulled pork!

We left our tasting at Cru Catering incredibly happy! The food was as good if not better than any restaurant in Charleston! Being our first tasting, my father thought it would be a good idea to rank them immediately after each tasting. "Ten out of Ten!", I replied. He questioned whether the first caterer should be ranked so highly. My response was ABSOLUTELY! And I was correct! They were very easy to work with throughout the planning process. Cru was helpful in providing recommendations when needed. Then it was time for the true test...our guests! Many of our guests were traveling from the northeast where wedding food is an institution. Quite a few of our guests would call themselves foodies. The reviews from the guests were overwhelmingly positive! It is now two weeks since the wedding and we are still receiving daily comments from our guests about how they loved the food. Everything from the appetizers and desserts to the main courses were incredibly good! The Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles with a Maple Apple Smoked Bacon Rémoulade was the favorite appetizer. Cru's Shrimp and Grits is the best my husband or I have ever tasted! After the wedding our ranking still is a PERFECT score! Thank you so much to Cru Catering! Perfection!!!

We used Cru for our March 22nd wedding and really could not have been happier. From start to finish, dealing with them (specifically Jenna) was an absolute pleasure. Building a menu with Jenna was never stressful and she was ALWAYS mindful of our budget. We actually used Cru for our bar services too and they kindly included complimentary specialty cocktails for us. All of the Cru team that were at our wedding were fantastic, so friendly, and went above and beyond for us and our guests. One of the servers even offered encouraging words minutes before I walked down the aisle and it was the little gestures like this which made them so fantastic to work with. We chose 5 hors d'oeuvres because after the tasting we just could not eliminate anything we were served. Guests have raved about everything we served but the stuffed mushrooms, fried oysters, and bacon wrapped shrimp filled with cheese were the most talked about. We went with food stations where we enjoyed the BEST mac and cheese, sliders (the chicken & waffles are delicious), prime rib, and She Crab soup with mini biscuits. Everything was perfect. In addition to our desserts we opted to go for the coffee station which was hugely popular - I would definitely recommend this for guests of all ages, some made sure to spice up their coffee with liquors from the bar. Cru have got lifelong fans in us now, their café downtown is one of our favorite places to go, and we are hoping to use their barbeque division for a party we are hosting soon.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. Delicious wonderful amazing. Everyone thought it was great. The only issue we had with them was with the wedding cake. We had a three tiered cake that was a different flavor on each tier we also had a grooms cake that was a fourth flavor. They were instructed to cut the cake and have all flavors displayed together so that people could choose more than one type. That didn't happen they cut up the bottom tier and the grooms cake and we were literally left with 2/3 of a giant wedding cake after the fact. Additionally the representative they had their who was in charge of coordinating the catering staff was dressed unprofessionally no one knew who she was because of this and people kept asking who is that girl in the sweater standing there.

Cru was absolutely amazing! The food is still being talked about. The shrimp and grits are to die for. They were so reliable and professional. Everything was perfect.

When my husband and I sat down to discuss the most important elements of our wedding, one of the biggest priorities was AWESOME FOOD, and that's exactly what Cru provided. There's a reason they have been racked best caterer for 12 years in a row. The quality of their food and service says it all. We wanted our menu to be lowcountry fair, so not your typical Surf and Turf meals you see at weddings, and boy, did that pay off. We have guests STILL talking about the Chicken & Waffles Apps or the Pulled Pork Sliders with the Mac and Cheese station. TRUST ME. Use Cru. There's no other choice.

Jill, the chefs and staff of Cru should so proud of themselves and the business they have succeeded in. The majority of our wedding guests flew in from all over the county and many had never been to Charleston. My husband and I wanted to give them a true sense of Lowcountry cuisine so we knew we had to go with Cru Catering. Cru worked with our budget, style and ideas with ease. The planning process was a breeze with them and their hard worked showed at the wedding. Our guests were so impressed with the food and licked their plates dry. Jill, our event manager, went above and beyond at the reception to make sure we were fed, comfortable and stayed on schedule. The servers, chefs and bartenders were also wonderful. They cleaned up quickly and didn't leave a thing behind. I couldn't recommend Cru Catering enough. They can truly make your wedding dreams come true!

Everything was amazing. I still have people complementing me on the food. The macaroni, bbq, fried green tomatoes was a hit! They sent us off to our honeymoon with a huge to go bag so we could enjoy it again the next day...and we did. yum!

When my husband and I were planning our March 16th wedding, we both knew that good food was very important to us. After a few tasting sessions we chose Cru to do traditional lowcountry catering at our wedding and we were definitely not disappointed! Food was very important to us for our wedding. We had tastings with three different caterers to be assured of making the best possible decision. Cru blew the others out of the water. They were true professionals and provided excellent food from start to finish. I'm still regularly craving their shrimp and grits! I've sampled a lot of shrimp and grits over the years, and these were the best I ever had. Go with Cru - you will not regret it. Pricing seemed fair too, especially for the quality. They provided a nice "to go" basket for us for the end of the night as well.

The Catering Cru headed by Chef Edwin is amazing! We asking for a non-traditional fare for our wedding reception: Mexican food including a fajita station (run by Chef Edwin himself!), a taco bar, and all the extras. The Catering Cru went above and beyond! The food was incredible! We still have guests talking about how good it was. We had a small (20 person) wedding and the Catering Cru went above and beyond for us. They were so professional, helpful, and made the reception unforgettable...thank you so much!

The food was very good and everyone raved about it. My husband and I only had 2 complaints. First, when we did the tasting we tried pulled pork BBQ made into little sandwiches which is specifically what my husband wanted. On the night of the wedding, we got beef brisket. Then, I'm a vegetarian and the caterer knew that very well. My main part of the meal was the macaroni and cheese (fabulous) but it was put in with all the brisket in the togo box so I was only able to eat the few bites I had at the reception. I was very upset about that. Overall, very good food though.

If you don't hire the Cru Catering team...you will be sorry and disappointed because I guarantee that they are the most professional, kind, polite, and accommodating catering staff in all of Charleston!! Not only is their food the absolute best, but they had a designated waiter assigned to the bridal party & family so we could enjoy cocktail hour while we took our pictures after the ceremony! Empty plates & glasses disappeared seconds after being set on a table while trays of food were always full and circulating. Their menu tasting blew everyone else out of the water...they even made an adjustment to one of the dishes, per my husband's request, during the tasting and brought it back out for him to try! Brilliant management, excellent & friendly staff!! WORTH THE COST AND MORE!

Cru Catering was a dream come true to work with. From the tasting to the wedding, they were available to answer any questions and happily made any changes necessary. Emily F. is so organized and I never had to worry about anything when it came to the food and rentals! And of course the food did not disappoint! Beautiful presentation AND taste. We chose Charleston as our destination spot and we had several tastings before we decided on Cru. They worked with us to make the menu everything we dreamed of. The service was awesome, from the planning to the staff at the reception! An Aunt who has lived in Charleston for over 30 years says the shrimp & grits was the best she has ever had. Everyone ate until they were full, and are still talking about the food. They even gave us a bag to take back with leftovers for two at the end of the evening. Just a great company!

Wow, their food was INCREDIBLE! I overheard guests saying how good the food was AND that it was wedding food. We had a buffet of many dishes Cru does really well- she crab soup, cornish game hen, steak, succotash, etc. The caterer was wonderful and brought a plate of every dish to our sweetheart table so we didn't have to get up. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the food, have friends and family come up to talk to us, and for us to recommend which food to go get seconds of! I will DEFINITELY eat here next time I'm in Charleston. We are foodies and were SO pleased that we had amazing food.

As is pretty typical with brides I did not get to eat much of the food at the wedding with the business of the day. The caterer was kind enough to save us a goodie bag with some of each of the foods we had that day (including all three flavors of the cake). Our guests have remarked that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding and very satisfying. Some of our guests even went to Cru's restaurant for dinner later in the weekend to sample some more of their good cooking. Job well done!

Cru hit it out of the park with our wedding. At the very beginning Cru was just miles away from the rest. When we came down to Charleston for our tastings with vendors, Cru showed why they are Charleston's #1 caterer. Cru delivered amazing food within our budget and I could not be happier. In addition, their staff was unbelievable. For example, while we were taking pictures after the wedding during cocktail hour Cru staff came over and made sure we got the passed apps and that we all had drinks. While we were mingling at dinner they made sure to get a sampling of food for our table and at the end of the night they had food packed away for my new husband and i to enjoy in our honeymoon suite. I can't say enough great things about Cru. Thank you thank you thank you!
