Crystal Ballroom on the Lake

e celebration that we dreamed about, planned for, and invested in emotionally and financially. To be fair, there were many beautiful moments that we will always cherish. The décor was absolutely stunning and truly brought our vision to life. For that, I am grateful. Unfortunately, there was one issue that left a lasting disappointment. Five days after the event, rather than the Monday following the event as outlined in the contract, I was informed that my $500 security deposit would not be returned due to shoe skid marks on the dance floor. The marks were cleaned and completely removed. They were not permanent damage, nor did they require any repair or replacement. It is difficult for me to understand how normal dancing at a quinceañera—a celebration filled with joyful teenagers, children, and family members—could justify forfeiting a $500 deposit. A dance floor is meant to be danced on. Are guests expected to avoid dancing freely at a celebration? Should they dance barefoot or in socks to avoid leaving temporary marks? These questions remain unanswered, and the decision felt unfair and unreasonable. What saddens me most is that this was not just another event. This was my daughter’s quinceañera, a milestone that only happens once. While the venue was beautiful, the handling of this situation overshadowed part of what should have been a joyful memory. For this reason, I cannot recommend Crystal Ballroom by the Lake. I hope this feedback encourages management to review its policies and to treat future families with greater fairness and understanding. Families entrust this venue with some of the most important moments of their lives, and they deserve transparency, consistency, and reasonable expectations regarding security deposits.
