Facilities and Capacity:
The Mt. Rainier Ceremony Platform: Enjoy a scenic gondola ride to this mountaintop ceremony platform; accommodating up to 200 guests with expansive views of Mount Rainier, Mt. Baker, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams. With the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest, this will be the wildest place you’ve ever said yes.
The Rafters: Located on the top level of our base area lodge, this rustic mountain ceremony and reception venue boasts high vaulted ceilings, heavy timber beams, and floor-to-ceiling window backdrops with far and wide views of the resort. In the vaulted ceilings, you will find an old ski lift seat from a now-retired Crystal chairlift, as well as a gondola cabin from Big Sky, Montana; providing a classic ski-lodge ambiance with an elegant flair.
The Summit House: Washington’s highest elevation restaurant offers jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding Cascade Range. Located just steps away from the top of the Mt. Rainier Gondola, the Summit House offers a unique, elevated experience unlike any other. A large rock fireplace, large windows, and an outdoor patio make this the perfect year-round venue for your special day.
The Mountain Commons: This brand-new 25,000-square-foot open-concept lodge will provide a beautiful new space for you to host your special day. The upper level of the lodge will be home to a private dining room perfect for receptions or cocktail hours with elevated views of Gold Hills, Discovery Meadow, and surrounding peaks.
Services Offered: At our resort, we provide both indoor and outdoor venues for ceremonies and receptions, accommodating everything from intimate elopements (up to 30 guests) to larger weddings of up to 200 guests. Our packages include scenic gondola rides to the ceremony platform, all necessary furniture, linens, catering dishware, setup and cleanup of your event, and service staff for up to 8 hours. In-house staff will help with the setup and cleanup of your event, also offering a recommended vendor list for anything else you may need.
Cuisine: This resort comes with fine Northwest catering and special menu creations that are tailored for each event. The culinary team is dedicated to creating healthy and flavorful dishes that are prepared using the freshest ingredients possible. Choose from buffets, plated dinners or standard menu

Personnel: My husband and I chose hard mode for our wedding. We got married at Crystal Mountain Resort in early September 2023. However, we reside on the east coast. We had to be able to rely on our vendors to be communicative, clear, and honest. We worked with Kalela Robinson and Andria Wunder for our wedding. They were a real delight to work with, especially in the final days leading up to our event where my nerves were frayed due to impending bad weather. Thank you to Kalela, Andria, and their incredible staff all over the resort (from gondola workers to their kitchen and serving staff) for the outstanding support we got on our big day! You all were amazing!
Pricing/Admin: Getting married here is expensive, so expect to spend big, not just for your venue fees, but for everything else. If I had a criticism, it would be that I wished I got more thorough pricing at onset. Taxes owed for our 2nd half of venue fees really hurt - this was not included in our original agreement (it just said plus tax). I also wish there were a tool to play with catering costs, headcount, etc.
Location: We selected the Mt. Rainier platform for our ceremony site and the Rafters as our reception site. If you’re looking for an adventure wedding with that wow factor, this is the place for you. Mt. Rainier holds a special place in our hearts, so it was important for us to have a wedding with a view. Unfortunately, weather impacted our view on the day of. However, Kalela, Andria, and their team did a fantastic job of keeping us moving and our guests comfortable.
Food & Drink: Crystal Mountain does not allow outside caterers (except for dessert, I think). They were not cheap but food was great and drinks were awesome. After tasting, we opted for the most expensive buffet option just to get the halibut and prime rib, which was out of this world! Our guests loved it. Instead of cake, we opted for their ice cream sundae bar. Guests loved this too. Definitely get the seasoned fries. They were amazing as a late-night snack at the end of the evening.
Overall, we had an incredible experience getting married at Crystal Mountain Resort. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us and our guests, many of whom flew over from the east coast to watch us tie the knot. Thank you so much!
The location was absolutely stunning and our wedding did turn out amazing. However, crystal mountain is very much a ski resort that does weddings on the side rather than a wedding venue. The coordinator was new as of this year to the roll so there may have been some kinks. They missed two scheduled appointments for coordinating without any pre-warning of not being able to attend the meeting. They only allocated one lift ticket per vendor so day of we were told we needed to purchase extra lift tickets for all of our vendors assistants. They would also only allow our vendors to upload on the gondola once except for our wedding planner. This was tricky for vendors with extra equipment. It was important to us that our guests not feel obligated to pay anything at the wedding and as such we requested that tip jars not be placed at the bar. After being assured that they would not be there they unfortunately were placed on the bar (Even though we had already paid a 20% tip ahead of time.)
The food was amazing! Try the gnocchi if it is offered. Also the support staff were all really nice and great at their jobs.
Kalela was fantastic at keeping us on target and creating check in milestones for us to make sure all our details and payments were covered. She was incredibly quick at responding via email and calls. I was impressed with how professional her team was, not to mention how stunning the actual venue (Rainier Platform) itself is. On a clear day, there is no prettier spot to get married. It will take your breath away. Thanks again!!

I don’t know many people that can say that their wedding day went perfectly through rain, but we can. Carmen, Sam, and Emily were amazing to make our day and weekend perfect in every way. I’ll admit, I was not the easiest bride with all my worries and questions, but they were all there along the way to make sure I was at ease. I would recommend Crystal Mountain to anyone that asks- in fact, one of my bridesmaids said that she wanted to have hers there. If that is not a complement, I don’t know what is. All of our guests said we had a perfect wedding weekend and I owe it all to the staff. I had been planning my wedding for two years (all outside) and the day of the wedding it was raining. Sam continued to check the weather for me hourly and give encouragement and reassurance that everything would turn out great- and it did. If anyone is wondering if they should have their wedding here, it is a huge YES from us.
David and I would like to share our glowing endorsement for Crystal Mountain. They made our dream wedding a reality. We cannot speak highly enough about our CM experience from start to finish. From our first tour with Carmen, to our last goodbye with Tony, everything was flawless.
Our was not an easy event to execute. We had many unique requests and a multi-day event including a rehearsal dinner, morning ceremony, afternoon BBQ, and event reception at the Mountain Top that added complexity. Yet with a smile and dedicated problem solving, Crystal Mountain delivered above and beyond what we could have imagined. They even brought us the good weather :)
The thing that stood out most in our experience with Crystal Mountain was the genuine pride each staff member takes in their work. It is clear to us that there is a high standard of excellence they aim to hit across the entire Crystal Mountain team -- lodging, dining & catering, transportation, facilities, spa, etc. The positive culture they have across your entire resort is palpable. The attention to detail and care and concern for the quality of the experience shined through with every planning call, every email, and every moment of our big weekend.

We had our reception at Crystal Mountain Resort in June 2014. It was absolutely beautiful and they went above and beyond. Our ceremony was schedule at an off site location, but they were willing to have our ceremony on site if needed due to weather...even though it was never a plan. Thankfully, it worked out and we were married at the off site location. Our wedding coordinator at the resort was awesome to work with and far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the location if you are planning a Northern MI wedding.
Crystal provides excellent service between Julie and Chelsea. From out first meeting with Chelsea, to all the subsequent meetings with Julie, we felt confident we would be taken care of. The resort offers MANY ceremony locations, and we took advantange of the mountain top location. Our guests LOVED riding the chairlift to the ceremony!
For outdoorsy couples, there could not be a more fantastic and beautiful location. Staff were incredibly helpful and very flexible. Adjusted menu to fit our needs and kept our guest happy. Even with a blackout, they let us keep going all night.
Thanks to Crystal Mountain Resort I had my ceremony on top of a mountain with Mt. Rainer as my backdrop. It was so amazing and my guests couldn't stop telling me that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The service was wonderful they were always there when we needed something. They were great about making it the way I wanted it to be. Also for such an amazing venue they werent that expensive compared to other places I looked at. Budget was really important to me since I just graduated from college and was paying for over half of my wedding myself. I barely went over budget and couldn't have asked for a better location. I would highly recommend you have your wedding here it is such a unique experience to make your entrance on a gondola.
For the person who like outdoor wedding, crystal mountain is really a nice spot. The Mt. Rainier is right behind your arch. The view is stunning. They also have the restaurant open only for your reception. You don't need to worry about the parking and mess up your guests with other events. The only thing you need to worry is the weather. Sometimes in the mountain area, the weather is a little unpredictable. Usually, July and august is the best. I have my wedding at the end of August and it was very very beautiful. All my guests enjoy the view a lot! If you have a guest size between 50~100, that fits the place very well.
Crystal Mountain in August provides a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier and the wildflowers are out! The only difficulty I had was coordinating with the food & beverage manager and events manager--they passed the buck a lot to the other person. Other than that, the staff was great and the food was great!
