We got married on 7/20/2024 and had the most incredible experience! We booked our wedding reception here with the old owners in 2023, but we had the BEST experience with the new 2024 management, Chantal. She was responsive to all of our needs and requests, and even let us come by the day before the wedding to set up. She helped make our reception run smoothly so that we could enjoy our special day with our friends and family. They have also updated a lot of things including the chairs, floors, and bridal suite. Overall, we were very impressed and would highly recommend this lovely, rustic venue.
We booked our wedding not knowing this venue was changing ownership. When we found out, we were incredibly nervous having not met our coordinator and unsure if it would even happen. Chantel was absolutely great though. She honored our previous contract and helped produce a wedding beyond our previous expectations. The food was fantastic and the staff worked hard and were friendly throughout the entire event. They let us create signature cocktails and the bartender made them even better than I was able to on the test runs at home. We hosted about 95 people and there was plenty of room for dining and dancing.
I can’t say enough about the level of professionalism and courtesy Chantel showed throughout the process of our wedding changing hands. We received so many compliments from our guests. Thank you so much for being a part of the day we will remember so fondly forever!
We had booked our wedding with original owners in October 2023. In March 2023, the bride was informed of new owners who would not honor needs for gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or peanut allergies as the original owner could. When asked what options could we have for the dietary needs. The rep immediately canceled our July 2024 wedding date and kept all the money given to the wedding venue.
We booked our venue a yr out in March of last yr. There was definitely miscommunication which I would advise future couples to reach out with all your special request the best you can . Due to have a wedding in March we did get snowed out and people left earlier in the day due to being up the mountains. We were supposed to have our venue until mdnt and we were all out by 10 30pm.
Our food wasn't the best in my opinion which was really disappointing. We had stepped aside during dinner for pictures and all the food was put away before we finished. There was definitely miss communication. We didn't have an actual dj but were charged an additional 1k to use the staff . Songs got messed up . It was extremely hott in the venue once the heat got turned up . The staff was kind and we understood some new owners came in but it ended up costing us almost an addition 2k with miss communication which was extremely disheartening. My husband and I were paying for the wedding almost entirely ourselves. We understand the weather was out of their control but if we knew of the extra expenses we would have chose a venue closer to our home . When we went to pick up our items we forgot to ask for our leftover cake and champagne which a reminder would have been appreciated . It was just my husband and I getting 2 vehicles worth of stuff loaded , yes the lady helped with the items by the door . I missed photo opportunities because of getting rushed with the snow and in general. Because we weren't able to do photos away from the guest we kept getting interrupted by people who had to go. Not alot of photo opportunities at this location and harsh lighting . We made the best out of it and the staff was kind . I highly recommend having specific requests. I tried to be layed back and not all our items got set out like promised . Nobody asked us . I barely drank my drinks got cleaned up and I forgot hubby and I had free refills . Notate specific dinner songs and music you want so you aren't sitting at your dinner not liking your dinner music.
Amazing!!! I was at my Aunts wedding here in the 80’s and fell in love with the venue. I was thrilled they were still operating and with in our budget.
They will handle as little or as much as needed. We were able to save a ton of money using their decorations and not worrying about all the extras.
Bob and Jay took wonderful care of us and everything was perfect.
I didn’t have to stress about anything! Food was wonderful, we had games for the kids to play outside, and the dance floor was full all evening long.
Yes it is a little old fashioned but we didn’t mind that at all.
Everything was affordable and we were even able to do an open bar without breaking the bank.
I don't recommend this place at all if I could give them a -100 review I would! They take advantage of you in a desperate panic situation! We had booked this place because one of the other venues that we actually booked and paid for sent a notice to the brides that they were shutting their doors and we were in a panic to get a venue quickly. We were finding that not many other venues had our date that we were set on and Crystal Rose did have our date. Again I was in a panic thinking oh my gosh I'm not going to get married. The previous venue did refund our money. We were referred to Crystal Rose by others and when we got there we just booked because they were the only ones who had our date and less than 24 hours later we decided that this place wasn't for us. In fact it is super run down very old fashioned also next to telephone lines that are sending out electric pulses not but 20 ft away from you. They decided not to give us our deposit back even though we informed him less than 24 hours after booking this place just wasn't for us. Most places have a 7 Day buyer's remorse clause. Put this place apparently does not. Even though when we spoke to the owner Jay he told us that he would work with us if they got the date filled to get us our deposit back. We kept calling him to check on to see if the date was filled and he just kept saying " not yet but don't worry there are plenty of brides are going to come look at it and we'll get you your money back" we really felt that we were just being taken advantage of and lied to that he wasn't planning on giving us our money back at all. We then originally posted this review and he wasn't happy about it so he said that if we came up with the contract that he would make sure that we would get our money back he would just have to do it in payments. I do have a contract that Jay the owner and I both signed he was supposed to pay us back by June 10th in full when we did get back from our honeymoon because we did end up going with a different venue l, he had said that he didn't have the money and that he just needed a little bit more time. That was June 10th it is now July 17th and he has yet to pay us any money we have been in constant contact with him he finally after we threatened to take him to court he sent us a $500 check of which we received in the mail please keep in mind our deposit was $2,000 and then once that check came he said oh just kidding please don't cash that as that bank is the incorrect bank I will send you more money in the mail right now but he accidentally wrote on the wrong checking account that the checking account didn't exist even though when my husband went to go check with the bank that is actually an account that is active and since we did find that out we thought that he again was just dicking us around to not pay us. Once again we threatened to take him to court and he said please don't I will send you a check right now and that was over a week ago. And we still have not received anything. I am posting this review to please let all the brides and couples know that this place will take advantage of you and they are not good people they do not have good intentions or morals. I didn't have to deal with anybody else but Jay who is one of the owners or the owner he was the only one we spoke to the only one I met with please do not believe anything that he says as he took advantage of my husband and me in a very very desperate time when all we wanted to do was get married. Also a little extra information that they haven't even been in good standing with the Secretary of State for many years as a business.
Venue was well decorated, and staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable! The length of time we had the place reserved for made it so we were not rushed on an already busy day. Also, the DJ was a big hit with the guests!
Planning a wedding is hard, but planning a wedding during a pandemic is nuts. Jay, Bob, and their crew were truly outstanding. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. The staff waited on all the guests hand and foot. They were polite and courteous, and were eager to serve our guests. The food was outstanding! Our guest still talk to us about the dinner we had on our wedding night. The chicken was juicy, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The Ha, was moist, juicy, and tasty. Not bragging because it was our wedding day, but the food was outstanding. I had no worries thanks to Bob and his crew. They set up all the decorations and took them down. We Highly recommend the crystal rose!
I recently shot a wedding here. It was mindblowing how in tune the staff is. When have a group of 6-7 seasoned veterans that have been working together for 10+ years it shows. Everything happened on time and with great ease. The food was magnificent. The dj was a pro and you can tell. No bad music and lots of 80’s music people want to dance to. I gave them a card and told them I would provide special pricing just for them because of how much of a pleasure it was to work with them. I hope I get to do many more weddings there.
Crystal Rose did an amazing job! My husband and I truly had the wedding of our dreams! The price was very reasonable, no hidden fees and excellent service! I would highly recommend this venue!
Overall, it was fantastic. The food was amazing, the staff, etc and it was all included. They worked well with my OCD and anxiety and let us do mock set ups as often as we wanted.
Before the wedding, the biggest issue was that Jay couldn’t remember who we were every time we called. The first time we went up there was an issue with a day of coordinator and we requested to have her switched out. They did switch out. But each time after they would try to resell us a new package & even couldn’t remember our pricing. They would try to sell before even looking to see what we were there for. At the end of the night of the wedding, I was disappointed in how our gratuity was handled. We tipped on the low end so we wouldn’t have to carry as much cash, but it was still a reasonable tip. After receiving it, a comment of “they f**ing stiffed us,” was said by Bob who received the tip. Im unsure if he was unaware I was waiting there, or if he was just angry, but I was trying to continue to tell them we’d be going back the next day with an additional tip. He then showed me the tip he’d written down that he was expecting and went further to say he’d have to cover his waiters for the evening. It was completely unprofessional how that was handled.
Finally, at no fault of theirs, our big selling point was the “lake” or water for Lookout Mountain being apart of the background in photos. However the spout broke and we didn’t have the gorgeous background we were sold on.
Aside from these hiccups, there wasn’t a lot I could say otherwise that isn’t radiating praise. It was truly a day to remember.
We loved our wedding, it was absolutely beautiful. The Crystal Rose did a fantastic job on making sure that everything ran smoothly. Bob was on top of everything making sure we didn't miss any photo opportunities, making sure everyone lined up and the timing was great. Food was delicious, and they even boxed up some wedding cake for my husband and I to take home at the end of the night. Bob was also our DJ and made sure to play anything that was requested as well as written down. The only draw backs were that when the staff was clearing tables (and mind you the staff works really hard making sure plates and everything are cleared in a timely fashion) they kept taking my grandmas cake, (wedding cake is her favorite thing) that she wanted to take back to the hotel. 3 different times they took it. She ended up sitting at the table not wanting to move because she was worried her cake would get taken for a 4th time. For future wait to clear anything until you know for sure the person is through. The other thing is when walking out back to the ceremony area there is a little lip of concrete that really hurts if you are unable to see where you are going. Other than those two things I think everything went great!
This was the perfect place to have my Colorado wedding. They have a couple different locations and I used their Lookout Mountain spot. The ceremony was held just outside at their gazebo, then dinner and dancing inside. You get a nice mix of mountain views and Denver (once the sun goes down you have an amazing view of the city lights from the dance floor). They do EVERYTHING here which is exactly what I was looking for. They do the food, DJ, alcohol, no cake cutting fee, and no required wedding planner. All I had to worry about was the cake, flowers, and any extra decorations which I didn’t even bother with because what they had was already nice. I worked mostly with Bob and he was amazing! I was never stressed while planning my wedding and he really brought it all together and made it really fun the day of. He even found a way to make all the awkward pictures you have to take more fun. We had the place until 1am and a good chunk of my guests kept dancing until the very end including myself and the groom. All their staff was really amazing as well, if you need something all you have to do is ask. I got a ton of compliments about the bar tender. I would highly recommend this place for a wedding if you want your guests to have a great time.
The Crystal Rose had amazingly kind and friendly staff working at our wedding. Bob and Jay know exactly how long it takes to get each part of a wedding done from the ceremony to the food line, based on how many people are in attendance. We had about 90 guests and we fit in the location comfortably. The food was marvelous. The DJ music was great and we had guests dancing all night long.
While this is not a "high end glamour" venue, it gave a cabin-esque cozy feel. It was so nice to not have to worry about bringing and taking home decorations on the day of the wedding, they allowed us to bring decorations the day before, and pick up the remaining decorations the day after the wedding. Bob was in total control of the day and we didn't have to worry about a thing!
Having separate areas for the bride and groom and parties to get ready was extremely handy, and the 1 minute drive down the road had great photo opportunities.
I would highly recommend the Crystal Rose to anyone looking for an affordable, easy, friendly, and memorable wedding experience!
We had an excellent experience at the Crystal Rose! My husband and I wanted a mountain setting for our wedding without having too long of a drive from Denver. The Crystal Rose was just high enough up on Lookout Mountain that you got some really pretty views but were only 10 mins away from Golden. There were so many decisions to make during the wedding planning process that it felt overwhelming sometimes but the folks at Crystal Rose always made the decision process easy. We worked with Bob and he was great at suggesting ideas for aspects of wedding planning we hadn't even thought of. He was also really responsive to all our questions that cropped up during the months preceding the wedding. We also really appreciated how all inclusive the venue was. We didn't have to go out and find a bunch of different vendors for the food, alcohol, tables, linens, decorations, DJ, ceremony music, etc.
I do not recommend this place to anyone getting married here. The staff was very rude, the food came out 3 hours after the ceremony. This place reminds me of a small house with a small backyard, this place is not suitable for 100+ people. The staff carried the trash out from the kitchen and through the walkway of the guests
Crystal Rose was wonderful! I would recommend them for other couples as well! We found this place because friends of ours also got married there. Their prices are all inclusive, which is very nice when it comes to wedding planning!!
Most beautiful wedding venue. I wish I could live my beautiful fairytale dream day every day because it was such a dream. Everything went perfectly and my wedding was just as one always hopes it would be. I could not be more thrilled I picked this place. This place has a scenic view that will take your breath away on your drive up and it is beautiful on the inside as well. I love it here and I recommend to anyone getting married.
Bob and Jay took care of absolutely everything we needed. So much was included that we didn't expect and are forever grateful for how painfree and enjoyable our special day was thanks to these wonderful guys!
We cannot say enough great things about Bob and the crystal rose crew. The location was perfect, the staff was amazing, and our day was everything we could've asked for thanks to their expertise and help. Highly recommend, especially for couples looking for affordability as well as great services!
The groom, our family and friends all loved the Crystal Rose! Jay, Bob and their excellent staff worked very hard to make our special day exceptional. We got married on Mother's Day 2018, a rare rain-soaked foggy day in Colorado. The Crystal Rose staff seamlessly transitioned our wedding from their outdoor setting to their indoor venue based on the bride's decision two hours before the ceremony without any negative impacts on the comfort of our guests. Better yet, literally everyone on the staff did all they could to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the entire day. The ceremony was great, we thought Chris (the minister recommended by Jay and Bob) was wonderful, the food was great, the service was exceptional, and the staff went out of their way to take extra good care of the groom’s 96 year-old father. And, Bob was an excellent MC and a fun DJ too.
This venue was amazing!! Made the experience so smooth and enjoyable they really made us feel specail!
Jay and Bob and their team were absolutely wonderful!! They took care of everything. I just told them what I wanted and they took care of it. My guests said the food was amazing, and there was plenty so everyone was well fed. They even assigned a staff member to make sure my groom and I got whatever we needed, served us personally, and loaded our things in our car when we were getting ready to leave. I would recommend them to anyone!!
Even after renovations this place is still trash. I am going to be filing a lawsuit because they took my money never signed a contract
and won't give t back !!!!! Don't waste your money here this company is going broke. If you need a refund you will not get one !!! Stay away there are so many pretty places is Colorado PLEASE avoid this one !!!!!
We found this venue as a lower cost option in the Denver area, and Jay was very responsive to initial inquiries. Although the photos online look great, we found the venue in person to be a big dingy, and out-dated especially considering the cost we were quoted. They also did not have the option to cover their stained and outdated chairs; we would have had to rent chair covers from a separate vendor. They included a DJ within their cost estimates and had brunch catering options that we were looking for. However, upon comparison with other venues we considered, and factoring in both the “included” costs and “extras”, this venue was not cost effective. We also felt that it may be a bit confusing to find for all of our out-of-state guests as phone signals were spotty; and parking space was also a bit of a concern with Jay telling us guests could ultimately park in the park across the street.
For clarification, we had this at the other space the Crystal Rose owns, The Robin's Nest, located about a mile down the road from the Crystal Rose. If you're on a budget this is a great place. Food, venue rental, linens, tables, chairs, and DJ are all included and we were able to have our wedding of 80 people for about $6,000. Nothing to snuff at. The food was delicious and the venue was very pretty.
However, like another reviewer said, the venue's wedding coordinator was off the rails. During the rehearsal my wedding planner was going around and setting up tables and decorations. The venue's coordinator said "I don't know why you're doing this when bride paid us to do it." Well, technically I didn't pay you to do it, it's just added into the price. At the wedding proper, she spent the majority of the night arguing with my personal wedding planner, who was to be my person of contact that night. I would repeatedly hear her yell things like "I AM THE WEDDING COORDINATOR!" and would bypass my planner, to directly talk to me, which I had asked not to happen. She was also seen by many of my guests drinking the alcohol, and did a champagne toast with us where she drank. Personal opinion, you don't drink while working, but that could just be me. We also went into the bridal suite to pull up my hair and found a plate with half eaten food on it, we're not sure where that came from.
Aside from the overbearing wedding coordinator, we had given them a flashdrive with a version of our song on it to play. It was slowed down and cut to match our dance routine and it wasn't played. They played the original version, so me and my new husband ended up dancing for about thirty seconds, realizing it was the wrong version, and walked off the stage. There also was a strong sewage smell that we hadn't smelled any other time we'd been up there.
All things considered everyone had a great time. The food was good, the place was decorated nicely, and there are some gorgeous places near by for photos.
We had originally booked our wedding at the Crystal Rose in Colorado Springs, and after 4months of trying to get a hold of them to schedule a tasting and meeting, found out they had closed down. 4 months before our wedding. So we went to the Golden location and met with Bob who said he would honor what we had already paid at the Colorado Springs location which I thought was fine. We had to change our date, so we had to re-order invitations and everything that we had already ordered with our previous date on them. Then at a meeting with Jay, all of the sudden there was a service fee and a site fee and the price per seat had gone up, so while they did honor the deposit we put down there was over $2000 in "extra fees" that we were not told about. At that point it was too close to the wedding to cancel, so we just went with it. The rehearsal went okay, the planner was very helpful and helped us as to where to stand and walk which was very helpful because none of us knew how to do any of this. How ever, the day of the wedding, she turned into super Nazi. She was very short with us and very easily frustrated. They did not time the dinner appropriately so we waited around for almost 45 minutes after the ceremony for dinner to be served. Then we had a special cake, and our cake girl asked if she could cut the cake since she had a specific way she wanted it cut, and was told "absolutely not, this is what we get paid for" without even asking me what I wanted. Then at the end of the night, she approached my mother (who had nothing to do with the finances) and asked for the tip. Another hidden cost that we were not told about. And they wanted almost $1000 when we had already paid over $3000 more than we had been quoted at the Colorado Springs location. On the plus side, the DJ was very good and attentive and played a variety of good music. He did mess up one of our songs and forgot to introduce our flower girl, but all and all he was good.
I HAVE NO WEDDING THANKS TO THEM! I was so disappointed at the Crystal Rose in Highlands Ranch (which is connected to this one). Everything in the beginning was going really great, the location was perfect, pricing was great, and planning was going so smoothly. Two months before my wedding this location closes. I received no phone call from the Crystal Rose telling me about this I thought things were going great, until I got a phone call from my event planner telling me this place was closed down and keep in mind this was a not even a week ago when I got this news (this post was made in June 2015 and I got the news the last week of May). Permanently closed with no wiggle room to have my wedding still. NOW I HAVE NO WEDDING! (I was offered one of their other places but I can't trust them and I don't know if I would have gotten the same day) I know things would have been very different if plans had followed through but because I didn't get a wedding, and received this awful two months before my wedding was planned and everything had been set just be set up for this huge disappointment. Their other places are open but take caution they did file for bankruptcy and did lose this location because they can't pay their debt.
The place has a beautiful view/outside scenery, since it's in the mountains. We got to stay late, around 1am, which was a big deal since other vendors would charge more to stay later. The inside was a little dated but not bad. We had our ceremony outside, in a fenced area connected to the building, which has the reception inside. We had about 120 guests, so it fit them perfectly. The food was good. We had a cash bar, to save money, and so everyone wouldn't get all wasted and drive off the mountain. We didn't really decorate to also save money, it looked fine without decorations. My one big disappointment was the DJ (they provided), we spent a couple hours putting together our playlist and he didn't even play it. I was too busy to say anything. Another detail that was upsetting was the wedding planner (they provide), some things didn't go smoothly, like leaving off-site to take pictures, taking pictures before hand, and assigned seating. Overall, it turned out great, we saved a lot of money, which was nice. I forgot to mention we did get a letter in the mail that they were filing bankruptcy, which was a big surprise since they had been around so long, and had good prices (which I would think would bring a lot of business).
When we were booking our wedding venue, we wanted a place that coordinated things for us. The Crystal Rose included tables, linens, chairs, DJ, food, dishes, cake cutting, etc. We were able to go to a food tasting close to our wedding and pick the foods we wanted. We started planning our wedding with Bob and then Jay took over. Jay was nice enough but seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. We had a meeting 10 days prior to our wedding where we went through the details and he typed up a worksheet. At the rehearsal, we had to repeat over half of these details because he had no clue what was going on. We were trying to figure out where grandparents should be seated and how the reserving seats would work and he was in another room. The rehearsal did not go smoothly at all. Thankfully the day of the wedding, Candy was there to coordinate. Candy knew how weddings worked. We were so so so thankful for her. Everything went smoothly for our wedding and it was beautiful. All the other staff was great (DJ, bartender, wait staff). We had our wedding at the East Hampden location and had an indoor ceremony. The chairs and the getting ready room were the biggest selling points for the Hampden location for us. The chairs did not require chair covers (they charge $5 per chair cover) and the getting ready space was much bigger and had a close bathroom.
I am glad we had our wedding at the Crystal Rose. It went smoothly and planning was a lot easier since it was inclusive and we did not have to coordinate different vendors.
Just make sure that you have Bob or Candy coordinate your wedding day, not Jay.
My Husband and I used them for our Wedding Ceremony & Reception and were very pleased with them.
Bob was really helpful. And the staff was excellent the day of the wedding. Will be telling people about them in the future. They do all the set up and clean up which saved us the pain of it all. Everything that we asked them to do was done beautiful and perfect!
Darren and the staff at the Crystal Rose made my whole day completely perfect! There were no problems and everything went so smooth all my stress was completely gone! Thank you!
I could not find the Crystal Rose Highlands Ranch as an option. That is where I had my wedding. Everything was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and always ready to help with everything I needed.
They catered my wedding at their Lookout Mountain facility. We had a brunch and everything was delicious!
Staff was great and really made my day go smoothly! Food was good for the price and overall it was just a fun time!
I had to plan my Colorado wedding while I was in Maine. It was so simple since I used the Crystal Rose. My brother actually got married there 4 years earlier so I already knew what to expect. The location is beautiful. The staff was amazing. Brian was so helpful with choosing linens and finalizing the details. Every thing turned out even better than I could have imagined. I recommend them to anyone in the area that is looking for an all inclusive venue.
I was nervous because of previous reviews but both my husband and family all agree this place was perfect!! The food which i was worried about was delicious and we had many people comment on that too. They decorate EVERYTHING the way you tell them to so you don't have to worry about setting anything up. Then they treat the guests very well and the bride and groom even better. Cheena was the wedding consultant and helped with any and every question. She was helpful and in a great attitude always. She even was willing to stay at the office later than normal when we would have meetings. I am so grateful for having the wedding there. It all turned out so well and everything was completely well organized. There was nothing to worry about.
Cheena and the crew did an awesome job in making sure that our special day had a natural flow. The food was fantastic, and our guests are STILL raving about the wonderful time they had.
I had my wedding/reception at this location and it was everything I wanted. The price was well worth it, under $4000 for the venue for the all set up/take down, food, DJ, ceremony/reception space. My event was exactly as I planned it and I would highly recommend the Crystal Rose. The only annoying thing is the 21% "service charge" they tack on your price and then expect you to pay another 15-20% gratuity on top of it. Don't let them push you into the gratuity unless you think they've really outdone themselves.
Darren Ward and his crew are 100% Awesome. He has coordinated over 2000 weddings and he's a pro. All of our appointments from tastings to final arrangements were easy, comfortable and we felt confident that everything was handled. The venue, food, decorations, DJ, setup were A++. We will definitely host another event at Crystal Rose Lookout Mountain.
The over view of the mountains and downtown were great but what I paid was not worth it . There were hidden fees and they said that there is a updating the facility fee which was 21% of your bill and the chairs were dirty, the carpet has been there for at least 25 years. They lost my M&M's and my lunch box that the M&Ms were in and told me I was lying about getting it back, and I need to look harder for it.Eventhough the M&Ms were not even put out for the guest. The person that worked there cornered me at the end of the night and bugged me to get a tip for the whole staff. They were telling us normally you tip 10% of your bill they wanted us to give them $800 for a tip Eventhough the guest were tipping on the drinks. Some guest had to wait 30mins to get a drink cuz there was only 1 bartender. The Groom's dressing room was the office and they had to use a paper and thumb tack to cover the window. We could not keep the extra food either. Also the DJ didnt even know my name.
If you are looking for a outdoor mountain wedding this is the place to go. It is a very beautiful location where the wedding and the reception are held in the same place.
I could not have asked for more on my wedding day. We had a beautiful location overlooking downtown Denver and were actually married outside in the snow. It was amazing!
The cost is pretty reasonable since it includes the venue for wedding and reception, catering, DJ, and a wedding planner (Catherine was the best).
I would not hestitate to recommend Crystal Rose to anyone looking for a wedding venue.
The people I worked with were professional, helpful and made the experience so stress-free!
They did a great job-Catherine was especially helpful. I woud recommend this venue. very expensive.
I had a winter wedding and was looking for a venue that was affordable, intimate, and romantic. Crystal Rose encompassed all of these things. I saved $$ because it was off season and the food, DJ, wedding planner, and champagne toast were all included in the price. I was very pleased with this venue and would recommend it to people on a budget.
we used this site for an outdoor ceremony. The
backyard with white fence and gazebo were the
perfect outdoors setting with the view from the
mountain of downtown denver in the horizon. The
reception was then inside. The dance floor was
the perfect size and the beams in the ceiling added a classy mountain feel. The wedding planner Catherine that came with the venue was so helpful! Everything came out perfectly! The only disappointment was that when the party started to wind down they were already taking decorations off the tables and asking me what I wanted to keep etc. I felt this made the party end faster and were details that I didn't want to think about! However, im sure if you let Catherine know that you don't want this to happen at your wedding it won't.
The location is beautiful. They have weird hours, sometimes hard to get a hold of. Day of rehearsal there was another wedding that night, so people were preoccupied, wouldn't go over rehearsal inside, even though we knew it was going to be inside due to weather. The staff at the rehearsal weren't very friendly, probably planning too much for two different weddings. The day of the wedding we were delayed in getting in the rooms because they were still cleaning from the wedding the night before. Some information we didn't know till the day of the wedding such as the bride & groom only those drinks from the bar are on the house, others (wedding party) are not, but the wait staff didn't even ask the rest of the wedding party. Besides the location, and the price, another plus, is we ran into some financial difficulties and they worked with us on making payments after the wedding instead of not having the wedding.
My husband and I loved our experience with the Crystal Rose! The best part of this venue is all-inclusiveness factor. Not only do they provide the ceremony and reception site, but they offer catering, table linens, dishes, silverware, centerpeices, chairs, tables, cake cutting, DJ, and so many more things!! It reduced so much stress by not having to keep track of a bunch of different vendors. Not only did they provide all of this, we could customize it however we wanted! Our wedding coordinator was fabulous and made sure the day flowed perfectly! We had the TIME OF OUR LIVES and not a single thing went wrong:)
I wanted a "one stop shop" for my wedding and I had a friend have her wedding at a crystal rose.
When it came to my wedding, I was not able to book here because I couldn't come up with their VERY high down payment (pretty much the whole wedding upfront). They had a guest minimum and I would not have fulfilled that, but would have had to pay for those people.
They were not willing to work with me around the fact that my husband was deployed in Iraq and there's always that possibility he may not return on time.
From the beginning Brian at the Highlands Ranch location acted like it was a hassle to answer my questions. He would always say, "I have been doing this for twenty years, I know what I'm doing!" That is great you know what you are doing, but most women getting married this is our first time and last time. We want the day to be special. I will skip to the day of the wedding. We got there at 10:00 am on a Friday and started to get ready. Paid for the location (10:00am-1:00am) Little did I know 12:00 pm comes around and a bride walks in with about 20 people saying she has her rehearsal? I wouldn't have been bothered by this if someone would have told me? We had paid our flower lady to have flowers for each pillar outside so my mom had asked Brian if we could move the flower pots that he has out of the way so the focal point would be more on the flowers up high. (they were half dead) He said, are you kidding me? Rolled his eyes and moved them. We would have gladly moved them ourselves. I paid for an open bar from 7-12 so a few people were buying their own drinks before the wedding. He cut my sister off after one beer and my bridesmaids who drink were not able to have any ? He also added 6 coronas onto my cousins tab and said the father of the bride put these on your tab for the 6 bridesmaids??? Well 2 were pregnant and one does not drink and the other 3 do not drink corona? Made him pay for them anyway after getting in an argument with him. I gave him a video at 2:00 that I had worked on for 4 months and asked if it would be played while everyone is finding their seat, and to make sure it works (video is being played at 7:00) he once again added I have been doing this for 20 years, I know how to do this. Video time comes along and IT DOESNT WORK!!!!)He had 5 hours to check to see if it works? He was cutting people off throughout the night with drinking- NO ONE WAS DRUNK or out of control. He stopped letting people request music (including my brother, cousins and myself) My brother and family members asked for songs and he did not play them. I was even scared to go up and ask him to say Happy Birthday to my cousin. That is half of the wedding day. Sunday comes around for us to pick up everything (I brought my own chair covers, table linens, sashes, decorated the inside pillars with tooling and xmas lights, I set up everything with my mom) We offered to come in and take this down ourselves because we wanted to reuse everything for a wedding for my cousin. Everything was in trash bags for us which was fine. We later went home to see that instead of unwrapping the tooling and lights they cut all the way up the pillars to leave the tooling and lights in pieces????? My wedding day was beautiful and we all had a great time! Photographer was amazing (mjoyphotography), staff was amazing, family was fun, food was great and cake was awesome. The only bad thing was Brian. 50% of my wedding guest made a comment about him the next day and how rude he was. I was happy with everything except for Brian. You work with weddings (a happy time) if you hate your job and its a hassle for you to explain to every bride little details, find a new job
Crystal Rose made sure that everything flowed so smoothly on our wedding day. Any problems they dealt with and made sure I did not have to worry about anything all day. The food was wonderful, the DJ played stuff people could dance to and our wedding coordinator, Catherine was great.
Everything turned out perfect at the Crystal Rose. The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful.
We absolutly loved this place. They took care of all our needs and wants. Catherine the wedding cordinater was great, she was so involved. It has a great view of downtown denver, is beautiful at night with all the city lights.
I loved the area of the Golden Crystal Rose, so that is why we picked this venue. The problem was we were way overcharged, we had planned on 60 people, paid for 65 just in case, but only had about 54 people come. They kept all of the money we had paid them ( for 65 people) and they still expected us to give them a tip. I think it was way overpriced. So, if you choose this venue don't overpay or they will keep all of your money!
This venue had everything I wanted and more. They really cater to the busy bride!!
Great staff, great venue, great food. Service was excellent and staff was so helpful and willing to help with anything to make the day a success. I got married at the Crystal Rose Denver location and was very happy with my decision.
They made my big day go without a hitch, something any bride can appreciate.
They accommodated my wedding due to inclaimate weather. They took care of everything!!
The staff was phenomenal in making sure every part of the day ran smoothly. We received many compliments from our guests that their food was the best wedding food they ever had! Their outdoor ceremony location overlooks the city and at night you can see the lights from the city.
