My husband and I used Cygan and Delaney catering at our wedding and it was a HUGE hit. I had guests telling us it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The service was friendly, attentive, and fantastic to work with! My sister is getting married next year and is already booking them for her wedding as well. I couldn’t recommend them enough!
The food at our wedding was a huge hit, thanks to Cygan & Delaney Catering. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about all the delicious food. It seemed like every person I talked to had something to eat that they loved. My husband and I are biased since we picked out all the food, but our favorites were the Italian Beef, Fried Chicken, Twice Baked Potato Casserole, Buttered Carrots, and Mostaccioli. Which was essentially our entire menu, everything was so good we couldn’t pick a favorite. All their staff was so kind and friendly that they just made everything taste so much better. The flavors were out of this world so we wanted to give a big thanks for making our day so tasty.
Cygan Delaney catered our wedding reception. They are amazing. Very easy to work with. We didn't want the typical wedding food and they made our wedding food dreams come true. We wanted 3 food stations, a Mexican station(taco/nacho bar), American station(BBQ station) and an Italian station(different pastas and salads). We got so many complements on Cygan Delaney on how good the food was and how great the food stations were. The staff was amazing and kept the food stations full and tended to them the whole time. I would recommend Cygan Delaney to anyone for their wedding food, especially if you want to do something different or special for your wedding food.
Great food, respectful staff, very reasonable prices and our final bill matched what we were quoted. They serve at the wedding venue we chose, Olde Wicks Factory, very frequently so they set up, served, and tore down like a well oiled machine with no fuss. We were in contact with Judy regularly during the wedding planning process, and while she was sometimes difficult to get in touch with (requiring frequent follow-up from myself and my husband) she was always very kind and got us what we needed.
Cygan Delaney Catering is TOP NOTCH! They were willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs that were above the standard! HIGHLY recommend!! Thank you!
The food was absolutely wonderful and so reasonably priced! Our guests raved about it all, and the service was extraordinary!
We got the green bean casserole, twice baked potatoe casserole, garlic Alfredo pasta, mesquite turkey, apple chutney pork loin, Italian bread, and house salad. I can’t even say what my favorite was because it was all delicious!
Food is good but we had issues with pricing. They were a preferred caterer of our reception venue. We signed the contract and were given a price list (the same price our reception venue said they would charge). Two weeks before the wedding we got the invoice & prices went up. They would not honor the original prices. When questioned, they simply kept repeating the prices are based on current prices and the contract only holds the date. I asked if that was written in the contract, but they again said prices are based on current prices. It was not in the contract that prices were subject to change. We ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more than expected.
We had Cygan Delaney cater our wedding on 5/28/22 & we were not disappointed! The food was reasonably priced & so delicious. We got so many compliments from our guests
They were a great local vendor, excellent prices and selection. I loved we sampled in advance. Everything went smoothly the day of and we easily got the guests fed!
Food was wonderful. Staff very nice help us with deserts as well.
My husband and I recently used this caterer for our wedding, and we desperately wish we had not. We chose Cygan & Delaney as soon as we chose to have our wedding in our hometown, because we thought "They are local, and everyone uses them. The food must be okay."
(1) The food was not good, period. Nothing on my plate tasted like it did when my sister-in-law and I went in for our the taste testing. Even the macaroni and cheese, which I had been literally raving about, was disastrous. It tasted like cheap Velveeta. Gross. The toasted ravioli, my other favorite, was awful as well.
(2) Their pricing changed, and they refused to honor the original price. Before I signed a contract to use them as our caterer, which was about a year and half before the wedding, they informed me the price for china rental and bussing was $1 extra per head. I was told since I was signing in advance they would both waive my deposit AND lock this price for me. Great! I told them I want that. Then approximately three months before the wedding they quoted us at $4 extra per head, bringing our total from $10.99 per head to $14.99 per head before appetizers. I private messaged them, asking if they would honor the original price, and their response was "The cost is $4 extra per head." At this point we tried to find a new caterer, and could not find one we liked so close to the date. We were stuck.
(3) Communication was TERRIBLE. Every time I messaged it felt like pulling teeth to receive a timely response. There was never a consistent contact person, such as a secretary or handler. There were no consistent contact times. Even our email conversation was spotty at best. Despite this, I hoped and prayed the amount of calls and conversations I made sure happened would be a positive. Nope. The day of the wedding they arrived without tables, despite extensive conversation about how I needed them to bring their own tables. They had insured me multiple times they would be able to do so! We made it work, but I was furious. There was supposed to be veggies in the macaroni as it was supposed to be both a side and an entrée, but they failed to provide that as well. They never responded to my multiple inquiries about cake cutting service. I ended up asking my brother to cut the cake for me.
My dad tells me they have a food truck or something like that on the Square now, and all I can think is, "Who would pay to eat this?" We will be having anniversary parties and the like in Highland in the near future, and I can promise you with service like this we will NOT be shopping local.
I have been able to see Cygan-Delaney's work surrounding several events over the last ten years, and have always loved them. They did a wonderful job at our wedding, were super kind and accommodating. My only complaints are that they did not initially make coffee because they mistook the hot water we had set up for a hot tea table as coffee, which they amended once they became aware of the mix-up, and the yeast-rolls were not cooked. On all other accounts, everything was beautiful, professional, and absolutely tasty.
Delicious and very affordable Homestyle cooking from the most caring people!
The food at our wedding was delicious! I didn't care at all for the pasta dish, it had a sort of chemical taste, but everything else was delicious! Our guests all loved the food and the buffet was lovely! They even brought in a beautiful ice sculpture! We had a ton of choices for our buffet and the price was very reasonable.
Cygan and Delaney did a great job catering our wedding. We had two meats for guests to choose from as well as 4 sides for a fairly low price. Since we had more than 200 guests, we also got a complimentary ice sculpture from them which really added class to th reception. Their communication wasn't the best, but the food was great and the service was friendly and professional.
I'm STILL getting compliments on our wedding food, and our wedding was over 3 months ago! We had over 300 people at our wedding, and we ended up paying around $2500 for the entire day, which included SO much food we had leftovers for 3 weeks after the honeymoon, an ice sculpture, cake cutting, and china/silverware/serving the head table (that last bit was thrown in for free since we just wanted it for the head table and not every table). If you go with Cygan and Delaney (which you should), definitely get the twice baked potato casserole!
Great food!
They were fantastic working with me for my wedding. I had to make some changes right before the wedding and they were more than willing to help. The service was good, and the food was excellent. The price was also good.
I was extremely happy with the catering from Cygan. They have a lot of food choices that are very affordable. It's a buffet style, which I think is better than a sit down dinner because that way people can get the food that they really want. The food was out of this world. After our wedding, our friends consistently tell us that the food was one of the best parts! If you order food for over 200 people, you even get a free ice sculpture!
The buffet table was set up very nicely with black linens that matches every wedding color. Not only was it one of the cheapest caterers I found, it was also one of the cheapest places to rent china.
Average cost per plate: $8.50
I highly recommend this caterer. One note though....it's located in Highland, IL not Springfield like this website says.
