Cynthia Chung Weddings

even though we were already at max capacity for guests. We were a little worried about getting all the right shots, but she somehow captured every single moment so naturally and beautifully. The candid shots are absolutely stunning – they feel so real and capture the true joy and love my husband and I felt that day. Her direction and choice of locations around the city were spot-on, and she knew exactly how to frame each scene perfectly to bring out the best in us. We look amazing in every shot! One of the best parts? She was able to redo some of our favorite pictures in black and white at our request, and they turned out incredible. The contrast, the mood, and the timeless feel of those black-and-white images are just breathtaking and really capture the essence of our day. And we absolutely LOVE the GIFs – they’re one of the best parts of the whole album. She captured those little in-between moments that are just so “us,” and they add so much life to our memories. Looking through the photos, we were blown away by how wonderfully she documented each precious moment between us. She truly has a gift for telling a love story through her lens. Thank you for making our day unforgettable. We’re forever grateful!

are kind of awkward and hate taking photos, but Cynthia made us feel really comfortable. She did well to direct us on how to pose to get the best angle. We chose a location outside of the city and Cynthia was more than happy to accommodate and meet us there despite the long drive for her. Cynthia was also not afraid to explore different sceneries for more creative photos. The photos turned out beautiful and I absolutely love the gifs she created for us too.

friend's wedding and she is just so friendly and her pictures came out so beautiful. I just knew that I had to bring her on as my photographer for my wedding. She makes you feel so at ease and will work in whatever situation we are in. My family was being so crazy and nuts and she had such a calm collected head on her shoulder. I had the 10hr package which included either a book or a 2hr photo session which is what we picked. My husband and I do not have a lot of nice photographed pictures so this was a nice treat yourself moment. If you pick Cynthia to shoot for your wedding or other life event - trust me you won't regret it. If there's ever another moment for me to hire her again I certainly will. TRUST!

er portfolio there was just no other option for us. We were in awe of how prepared and professional she was while also fitting in seamlessly with us and our family, to the point that our parents thought she was a friend we asked to take photos! We really wanted someone who could capture both big moments and fun/candid ones and she delivered that and more.

ographer, and has the ability to capture candid moments that really tell the story of your day. We are so thrilled to have worked with her. Your wedding really will not be complete without her.

ve in Motion series. I also wanted to hire a photographer who was like me: Asian-American, grew up in NYC (knew the city well) and who also had a keen eye for what is elegant and beautiful. We loved working with Cynthia - she is fun, friendly, professional and a true expert on the best places to photograph in NYC! We cant' recommend her enough!

ut so beautiful!! And having GIFS included with your photos was such a delightful bonus to have! Cynthia has such a fun, lovely, friendly personality that we felt so comfortable and relaxed having her take our photos. She's super engaging and her warm heart and creativity truly shows not only in the photos she captures but also when communicating with her via email or instagram! We would absolutely love to work with her again. She was the BEST! Thank you so much Cynthia!

ork with and our wedding photos turned out beautifully. It's clear that Cynthia really enjoys what she does and she takes great care in capturing all the special moments of the day.

y gorgeous and I cannot recommend her more as a talented photographer. She even brought her assistant to help us manage our hyper dogs during the photoshoot, which was absolutely essential and smart. Thank you Cynthia for capturing such beautiful memories for my family and me!

you exact directions on how to pose and then getting her shots in a few quick snaps shows the breadth of her experience. Give her some details on what you're looking for and let her work her magic!

s she made them so beautiful, I had a hard time picking the "best" ones to share with family/friends. She made an extra effort to catch the right lighting and come for a sunrise shoot, despite her busy schedule. I appreciate her attention to detail as she would fix a stray hair here or there, or listening to my requests for certain angles I preferred. She also knew how to make us both feel comfortable, keeping us natural in our photos. I ended up booking her for my post-wedding shoot, since she was not available my wedding day. Book her asap as she's in very high demand. I've loved the experience and the photos. I'm sure you will love it too!

discuss details. She was not only very bubbly, friendly, and down-to-earth, but also extremely helpful and insightful. We talked through our thoughts and ideas and she provided very helpful insight and helped talk us through some necessary changes to our plans as well as offering several good options for hotels, photo and ceremony locations, and even several good officiators. She also let us know of some of the legal stuff we would need to look into and answered our questions about COVID restrictions in NYC. Overall, she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Despite the fairly short-notice, she was able to fit us and our ceremony in to her schedule. She was also very flexible! When we booked her, we knew the day we were going to have the ceremony, but we hadn’t finalized the ceremony time or location as we still had to confirm the time with the officiate and we needed to see the hotel balcony in person to see if it would be big enough or if we’d have to use a spot in Central Park that Cynthia knew of. Booking her and paying her was very easy too! She had us fill out and sign a simple electronic contract with common-sense clauses. She offered multiple easy payment options including chase quickpay, venmo, paypal, and zelle of which we decided to use venmo. Cynthia was very good about getting back to us quickly whenever we’d email her with any changes or information. We had to coordinate with both her and our officiate for the time and of the ceremony, for instance, and she was always very fast to respond. On the day-of, she and her assistant Kim showed up early and they were even nicer in person! She and Kim were even helping us figure out how we should do our little mini ceremony on our hotel suite balcony with just the two of us, our officiate, and helped us set up our webcasting setup for some friends and family who were watching via Zoom. Cynthia took us to all of the best places in Central Park and Kim helped carry my backpack with some water for the two of us. Even though I had paid for an extra hour, giving us 3 hours total of her time, the two of them actually ended up working a bit longer than that without charging us any extra! She shared a sneak peak photo or two with us to share on social media by the following day, and told us to expect all of the finalized photos within 8 weeks. She emailed us with the link to our photos on her online platform much sooner than that at 4 weeks from our ceremony! The website gallery she has set up is very easy to share with friends and family and includes options for saving either reduced or high-resolution photos to your cloud service such as Google Photos and to your computer. The gallery website’s prices are pretty steep, but there is a 20% discount for a couple weeks if you should choose to buy directly from it. For us, we’re content to get prints elsewhere since we have the high-resolution photos saved, but it’s nice to have the options! The photos are absolutely stunning! The compositions highlight her expertise and artistic eye and her craftsmanship is clearly evident in the elegant editing and curation. In total, she gave us 669 fully-edited high-resolution photos including several GIFs! We would recommend Cynthia Chung to anyone and everyone looking for an amazing photographer.

igure out how I wanted to get married in NYC, so she unknowingly gave us a lot of creative inspiration. And then she was just as great to work with- incredibly communicative, helped guide and shared advice on what to expect/how best to time out our elopement ceremony + shoot and made us feel incredibly comfortable at the shoot itself. The pictures are INCREDIBLE- she really captured everyone's raw emotion, brought to life the creative vision (it was important to me that the photos really feel like New York City since it's such a special place for my husband and I) and it was so fun to be able to relive our elopement day through her photos. We are so grateful- I can't wait to find other opportunities to work with her again!!

onderful images!!

received. She is very organized, punctual and just overall lovely to work with as well, which is a big plus on what can be a stressful day. We can't recommend her enough!

talking to an old buddy! She is so friendly and talented! The day was a laid back very chilled out vibe kind of wedding and she captured that feeling in the pictures and caught every small special moment in every shot! I love ALL of my pics that she sent me. I feel so lucky to have found her for our special day!!!! Best photographer ever!!!!!

e stress free. She makes taking wedding pictures feel as natural as possible, is on time and organized, and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her and her assistant were so kind, and I am so glad I chose her for our special day.

so comfortable, so supported, so taken care of throughout the entire process. Her professionalism, eye for photography, and attention to detail were obvious. Not to mention she's just an amazing person to be around!!! DO NOT HESITATE in booking Cynthia for your event. She's a total pro at what she does and you will feel like you've made a new friend!

flow of our event, and made a plan to ensure we got all of the photos we wanted. On the day of the event, Cynthia was punctual and professional. She did such a good job making us feel comfortable while we were taking photos. She has a great eye for photos and made sure we maximized our time while taking photos without feeling like we were rushing. The photos that Cynthia took were stunning. She sent us a full catalog of photos that came out perfect and also offers a number of options for printing/framing. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further than Cynthia. She was such a vital part of our event and we couldn’t have been happier with the service she provided.

communicative leading up to our wedding, very professional and personable on the day of. We appreciated how she and her assistant made the effort to engage with our guests throughout the reception in a way that they could get candid shots of all of the moments. The GIFs are such a unique and fun part of her style and we love how they came out!

feel relaxed and at ease while also keeping our energy up throughout the whole session. The entire experience, from initial conversation of what we were looking for to the day itself, was stress free and a blast. We are so happy that we chose to work with Cynthia and couldn’t recommend her more!

nthia was professional and also a wonderful person to have around all weekend. Our photos turned out beautiful, and we were so glad she had captured every little moment that we hoped.

with our timeline. We were specific about making sure all the group photos were done before the ceremony and Cynthia made sure our shot list was completed with plenty of time to spare. Cynthia has amazing energy and we were beyond happy with the photos we received. Her gallery website is very user friendly and we loved her documentary style shooting and clear crisp and bright editing. Working with Cynthia was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding!

ng eye for capturing beautiful and visually interesting photos. My husband and I did an engagement-style photoshoot to commemorate our marriage (we did not have a wedding) and had such a blast working with Cynthia! She is fun and relaxed, and made us feel the same. We couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out, they are absolutely gorgeous. Could not recommend Cynthia more highly!!!

nality, acumen, and vision that stands her out from the rest. Hands down, she is amazing. We hope to work with her again in the future!

and we were able to reschedule for this year. Although we were quite nervous at the beginning of the session, she made us feel right at ease with her jokes and conversation. The weather that day was also less than ideal but she maintained a very positive attitude and our photos still turned out absolutely gorgeous! It was wonderful working with Cynthia and we cannot recommend her enough!

thia was very responsive and thorough in answering all our questions. On the day of our wedding, she was very patient with all our guests and really made us comfortable during our session. She was a very sweet and friendly person to work with and we had a lot of fun during our session, we almost forgot how tired we were. We just got our photos back and are very pleased with the end result. If you do decide to book with Cynthia, you won't regret it.

care of. She guided us through the whole process, took care of selecting locations for us and was extremely accommodating when we had to put our session on hold for nearly half a year due to COVID. Most importantly our pictures turned out great.

ly very awkward when taking photos, but her cheerful personality and creative direction made it seem easy and natural for her to capture the perfect shot. Of course, the photos themselves came out absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for beautifully staged (and candid) photos, a responsible photographer, and an overall comfortable and fun experience, Cynthia brings it all :)

n! You're never lost as to how to pose/what to do with your hands if you're awkward because she gives excellent direction. She was also extremely responsive to all my questions, no matter how ridiculous they were. 100% recommend! I'm so happy with all the pictures too. The gifs are so special as well. Thank you cynthia!!

notch. I would not think twice about recommending her to anybody that I know.

, but she is just so great and easy to work with; especially during a pandemic! She made it a great experience that kind of just felt like we were hanging out. My husband is known for not wanting to take photos, but even he admitted that it ended up being kind of fun for him. She was able to really capture so many great photos that it’s been kind of hard deciding which ones to print and display; and she even made gifs with the images! Cynthia is so kind and I honestly cannot recommend her enough.

a magician with her work and all the photos turned out amazing! Friends and family are raving about the photos being, "magical," "dreamy" and "out of a fairytale." Working with Cynthia was super easy with her flexibility, professionalism and the talent to make you feel at ease in front of the lens in mere seconds. Hire. Her. Now.

we were so at ease. Cynthia is worth every penny. She is professional and will capture your special moments! Thank you Cynthia for everything!

akes cool suggestions if you need it). Her bubbly personality makes you feel like a NATURAL in front of the camera and she tells you exactly what to do (without feeling uncomfortable or awkward at all--a huge plus). Her engagement session felt like a fun, chill day at the park followed by some fun shots at a ramen restaurant! Photographs last a lifetime, so it's important to invest in the photographer you know your soul wants. And for us, it was Cynthia Chung Photography! Highly recommend for any engagement, wedding, elopement, or family shoot.

take photos often, she made the shoot enjoyable, comfortable, and memorable. It's rare to find such a blend of high craftsmanship, professionalism, and friendliness.

rial-esque style --- she did not disappoint! I was SO excited to hire a photog who could absolutely capture not only the magic of a wedding, but the absolute BEAUTY , ENERGY, AMBIANCE of every detail of the day. i was not a typical bride by many measures, but Cynthia helped me to balance the "traditional wedding photo" expectation from my parents with the NYC GLAM / CITY STREET vibe that i wanted so desperately....WORTH EVERY PENNY!! Her team was literally the most kind, easy going, and absolute professionals -- they made our wedding day a DREAM. THANK YOU!!! XOXOXOX

ecommended Cynthia by a friend in the arts and despite it being a bit last minute, she was able to squeeze us into her schedule on the date we wanted. In typical NYC fashion, it rained (more like poured) on our day but our small crew had prepared umbrellas and was ready to see it though. They became the perfect accessory! The pictures came out romantic, sweet with a dash of melancholy - infused with the vibes of the city and reflective of our introverted selves. We felt immediately at ease and relaxed with Cynthia, like we had known her forever! No matter the weather conditions, she took her and her crew took it with stride and their experience & professionalism were amazing. I couldn't have imagined a better team. We had a blast being creative and exploring the hidden spaces of the neighborhood. She truly captured our spirit and to this day when I look back at the photos, I can still remember all the laughter and fun vibes we had together during the shoot. Definitely would like to work with her again; she's got wonderful skills, a great eye and overall a truly lovely person to have with you on your special day!

e. Cynthia was the perfect fit starting from our introductory call, during the planning process, and throughout our long and hectic wedding day. She not only played the role of photographer but also coordinator (and good friend by the end of the day). We are so grateful that she, along with her second photographer Martin, brought their expertise to help move us along the schedule and keep us on time while never rushing us. Cynthia was so fun to be around and our wedding party and family members raved about her in the weeks following. We received our photos within a few weeks in beautiful packaging and are so happy with how they came out. Also, so pumped about our whole folder of GIFs!! Thank you Cynthia for being a part of our big day. We highly recommend her for your wedding!

d bright personality. She also was super flexible and instead of doing a traditional engagement photoshoot, she came to our engagement party and took photos of just the two of us and also our family and friends at the party. For our wedding, she was extremely professional and worked closely with our wedding planners, which made it a breeze for us with everything going on in the prep and lead up to the big day! She scouted our wedding location in advance too, which was super helpful--she truly went the extra mile. On the day of, her team was on-time and on top of the shot list we hoped to capture. Despite it being super windy outside which caused a slight change in our original plans, we still were able to get beautiful photos and could not be more pleased with everything. Her GIF photos are also so unique and amazing, our family loved looking at all the moments captured. If you're considering Cynthia for your wedding photographer, look no further! She's Uhhh-mazing!

the uncanny ability to be absolutely everywhere at once and yet be completely invisible-- she captured every single moment, even the ones we didn't know were happening, and did so without drawing the focus to her or even letting people know they were being photographed, which led to some amazing candid shots. She's also the absolute SWEETEST and so so easy to work with. She's super friendly and so you feel really relaxed around her, which leads to some incredible portraits. I highly recommend taking engagement photos with her in addition to day-of photography-- I love that ours captured a more casual side of us and even more of our favorite places, but it also gives you more of an opportunity to get used to working with Cynthia and being in front of the camera. I noticed a huge difference between the photos we took at the beginning and end of the engagement shoot, and then between those and our wedding day photos. We were SO comfortable day-of because of that extra time with Cynthia, and the photos definitely turned out better for it. Finally, Cynthia is super fun, and that comes across in her photography. She's very game to experiment with settings and props, and very willing to go along with whatever crazy suggestions you have for where you want to have your photo taken. The photos she took are not only beautiful memories, they're a delightful encapsulation of us. THANK YOU CYNTHIA!!!

r that brings a uniqueness and warmth to all of the photos we took with her. Often what defines vendors isn't how well they do their jobs, but in how they react when things go wrong. No one expects things to go south on their wedding day, but if they do, trust that Cynthia will be there to back you up as your photographer to make sure you, your wedding entourage and your photos are taken care of to the highest standard and the best of her ability. We loved working with Cynthia and would highly recommend her! Her expertise, fun personality, and her strength and resilience to take care of us on our wedding day were exactly what we needed. The photos turned out beautiful and we love re-living our wedding day through the photos. Thank you so much!

bove and beyond our expectations! Not only did she make us feel comfortable and like ourselves in front of the camera, she found the most artistic and creative backdrops at our venue. Her GIFs are a fun addition to the photo gallery! She is energetic, organized, prompt, and so talented!! Looking through the photos she took instantly brings us back to each moment of the best day, and we are forever thankful for that. Cynthia started the day as our wedding photographer, but ended the day as our friend! We can’t recommend her enough!

nd total fear of the camera!) Cynthia was not only our photographer, but also our witness and we're super happy that we have a collection of amazing photos to look back on and share with our family and friends. I cannot recommend Cynthia enough, she's really relaxed, super professional and helped us with everything, from beginning to end. What an absolute STAR! Thank you so much for making our day so special!!!

- before ever moving to New York. It was just my husband and I and his best friend from high school who married us. It was so intimate and Cynthia fit right in - she immediately felt like a long-time friend. We had never had professional photos done before and Cynthia made them so easy. She was great at giving direction and I never felt awkward or too posed or out of place. So many of my favorite photos are ones she captured of us just chatting and laughing and when I look at them I'm instantly in that moment and feel like I just married my person all over again. Cynthia is the easiest person to talk to, get a hold of, ask a question, chat about life, and spend a day with. I'd chose her again anytime!
