The location and venue is absolutely picturesque and the wine is amazingly delicious. The Dancing Dragonfly Winery is exactly what my husband and I pictured for our special day and we both were extremely happy with how everything turned out on our wedding day. It was super convenient to be able to have both the ceremony and reception in one spot. However, what we were not so impressed with was the lack of communication . If you are a bride that needs someone to get back to you within 2 business day, then DO NOT choose this venue. When emailing , it would take over 2 weeks for a reply and that was after I used a sharper ton to get a response. Just to rent the space for the day is expensive. The base price does not include any chairs or linens so things can add up. You are allowed to pick your own caterer as long as they sign a contract. The venue does charge I believe a 2% "renting fee" to the vendors which will most likely be cost that you have to cover. I would recommend saving all of your email correspondence just in case. I would also recommend asking for a receipt of all that you were charged for to make sure things are accurate. Leading up to the wedding I had a lot of unanswered questions and frankly I just got sick of asking so I stopped. When working to get the security deposit back it took over a month. But on the day of the wedding, the staff was wonderful and they worked hard to make sure that all of our needs were being met.
Our venue was beautiful and I loved that everything was all in one location. The only complaint that I have is that the venue ran out of beer and wine for our guests around 11 pm
I fell in love with the venue during the first visit. It's a beautiful building in a great setting close to town, but far enough away to avoid lots of traffic.
When reviewing prices in anticipation in reserving, I was given one base price to rent the facility. I came to learn that the price given was just to rent the space - it did not include any tables, chairs, linens, etc. These things REALLY add up and everything must be rented separately. (Note: I was able to purchase my own linens and napkins at a significantly less price than had I rented.) You must you use their caterers, but they were good about reviewing and adding if they met their requirements. There are several rules and limitations on what can be brought in for decor. Also note that the tasting room is open for the normal business hours, and we did have three crashers that joined our party stating they were winery staff (we knew they were not staff).
I also found that communication was very lacking in the months and days leading up to the actual day. I often had to wait days to receive an answer I was looking for, sometimes having to send more than one request for the information. I also was given different prices for items, but thankfully I kept all of the emails and the correct prices were honored.
On the day of, I was told that all tables and chairs would be set up by their staff per the agreed upon seating chart, but was later informed by my set-up party that the chairs were not in place. I also received several complaints about the bar staff being rude, some of which the groom witnessed himself.
Another issue was the security deposit. I was told that unless there were issues I was notified of, it would be returned within 48 hours. After 6 days, I requested an update and was informed it would be sent. After 16 days I had to request again and didn't actually receive until 18 days later, and for an incorrect amount. I would like to add that the owners did address this issue and did their best to make it right, but it didn't take away from all the previous frustrations.
Overall, I would just note that it is a beautiful facility, but just be sure that you know exactly what you will be receiving and I recommend keeping all correspondence.
