Whatever your version of ”perfect” is, we’ll create a dance for you that fits you to a tee. Dancing Together offers private dance instruction in a private, friendly and relaxed environment. Our teachers are patient and friendly and will always teach you what you want to learn at a speed that right for you. Most importantly, we are experienced in getting couples ready for that impending date. We specialize in wedding dance preparation as well as choreography and general social dancing skills.

We signed up for 12 lessons as we made it a point to start learning 6 months out from our wedding, but Dancing Together also offers an introductory rate for your first lesson if that’s all you have time or inclination for. The appeal was that the lessons are private and take place in their studio in Pacific Beach, so we didn’t have to worry about stumbling around in front of others. While I’d taken dance for PE once upon a time in high school, my husband is not a dancer at all, so this was a stretch for us, but we were immediately put at ease at our first lesson with Miki. She is so kind, friendly, and most importantly, patient. Lesson by lesson, she put together a routine for us that was within our abilities but also managed to impress our friends and family the day of the wedding–and I’d say we looked good doing it too! We also carved out a handful of lessons to learn a sisters-brother dance for my husband and my father-daughter dance with my dad, and it was fun to learn different dances. Miki, thank you so much for your help.
Dancing Together also offers group classes once a month at their dance hall near USD where they focus on 1-2 styles of dance. We were lucky enough to debut our dance a few days before the wedding at one of these group classes, and it helped with our nerves the actual day of the wedding. Everyone in the class was very supportive and it was also fun to take our minds off the wedding for a bit and try different dance styles. We hope to go back in the future for other group classes!

ately signed up for a 12 lesson package. It was 110% worth it. Our instructor Miki, was amazing and put our nerves at ease. Each lesson built on the last and incorporated new moves. Miki clearly is an educator and a dancer. She took us from two people who could sway together and put together an amazing dance that impressed our guests. I am not a dancer and have 3 left feet and by the end felt comfortable with our dance. We did use a few lessons with practicing our groom-sister dance and her bride-father dance. At Miki’s encouragement towards the end of April/early May (our wedding was mid-May) she encouraged us to attend an open dancing event held monthly. We did and found their other instructors and guests equally supportive. They allowed us to practice our dance at the beginning of open dancing to settle our nerves in front of strangers. Highly recommend and would go back to both their open dancing events and use them for private tutorial.

plains steps in a variety of ways so it’s easy to pick up. It was a great bonding experience in getting ready for the wedding. We chose to dance an East Coast swing for our first dance, so it was a pretty involved dance but Rebecca helped us look like seasoned dancers! Our guests continue to talk about how fun the dance was and how it really got the reception started in the best way possible. It was lively and got everyone up at the end! Thank you, Rebecca!

30 mins to get into the groove of things but she taught us a dance that was easy enough to learn but also added a touch of wow that she knew would impress our guest. Our first dance went great, without a hitch! and we have only her to thank! My husband was hesitant to take dance lessons to begin with but now he even wants to go back to learn salsa!
Rebecca makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. You may not think its that important to take lessons for a first dance but it truly makes a difference!
