Not being able to get a hold of Danielle before the wedding should have been a warning signal. It became a running joke with my family that if I wanted to discuss the photography plans for our wedding with Danielle, I had to call from a different number (and even then she would rarely pick up). The day of the wedding was great and Danielle took charge; which, let me to believe that post-wedding would be better than pre-wedding in being able to communicate with her. In the past three years’ time after our wedding, Danielle returned only one of my many phone calls. I responded with patience and have tried email, text, phone, and facebook to no avail. After three years of not receiving any of the physical prints that were promised under our contract or even a peep from Danielle, I filed a complaint with the Virginia Consumer Protection Agency. Danielle responded (FINALLY) with a letter saying that I took too long to get the list of pictures to her and so she did not think she was liable to provide what she promised: How could I get the list of pictures to someone who won't respond to me?!
Danielle's price was attractive compared to others, but all it got us was her presence and a DVD. More importantly than the money was the disappointment and heartache of not getting the professionally developed product we paid and contracted for, or the respect one deserves with a returned phone call/email/text/facebook message. I hope no other person has to go through the injustice Danielle caused my family and me.
Working with Danielle was the most stressful part of my wedding planning, from beginning to end. I wish we had canceled our contract with her when she showed up an hour late for our engagement photo shoot without apology. I would not recommend Danielle as a wedding photographer to anyone.
Both before and after the wedding, I had a very hard time getting in touch with Danielle. In the 6 weeks after our wedding I emailed and called Danielle probably a dozen times without getting a response. Eventually she sent an email that she had mailed our photos but never acknowledged or apologized for our many, many, many attempts to contact her. Meanwhile Danielle mailed us a package with a deck of playing cards, photo fan, and Christmas ornament all with her random selections of our wedding photos. It was a nice gesture but a very bizarre and unwanted set of tacky items. Rather than making and shipping those items, we would have preferred that she spend that time being in contact with us.
It seemed to me that Danielle did not pay any attention to what we told her during our conversations. We reminded her during our engagement shoot, over the phone before the wedding, *and* just after our wedding that my husband's mother had passed away and would not be in the photos. Similarly, she did not remember that we had no wedding party. She sent us a wedding guestbook that she'd made for us using pictures from our engagement shoot that included entire pages for members of the wedding party, the mother of the groom, etc. Again, this was a very nice gesture, but it lacked the personalization in very awkward, obvious ways that would have made us want to use it.
We did not feel that Danielle paid any attention to our style, requests, or specific wedding plans. When given the rare opportunity, I did not enjoy interacting with her. I found her to be insensitive, unprofessional, and difficult to work with.
We had Danielle do our wedding at a winery and we have so many awesome shots in a gorgeous location. We are only 21 days post wedding so we have just seen some photos on line but they are wonderful. Daneille is a true professional she knows what shots to get and most importantly she gets them quickly, we wanted to keep pics under an hour while guests enjoyed cocktail hour and we were right on time. She can not be beat for pricing and her level of professionalism and experience is amazing.
update update update
I felt like I needed to come back and update this review, we have been married 81 days and according to our contract with this vendor we were to get out pics within 60 days. We have sent several emails as well as a phone msg left asking her to call and update us about when to expect pics and we have heard NOTHING back from her. The contract is in breach as far as we are concerned and are in the process of contacting small claims court to settle this. So even though she was great at what she did what is the point if we don't get the the end results-- the pics. had I know this in advance we would of liekly chosen another vendor. The sad thing is I have learned 2 others had this issue with her.
I used Danielle for my photographer and was completely satisfied at first. She was very helpful and took every picture imaginable on the day of our wedding. The follow up was the horrible part. It has been over 4 months since our wedding and we have yet to get our pictures. She refuses to respond to any emails or messages that I leave her. The mailman showed up today with a box that contained our pictures. We had no knowledge that they were coming this way because there has been no contact with Danielle since just after the wedding. To make matters worse, the mailman could not give us our pictures because Danielle made it cash on delivery. Who keeps hundreds of dollars at their house? What am I supposed to do if something is wrong with my pictures since she is horrible at communicating?
Danielle did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. She was on time, she stayed the entire time, and it was almost like she was in multiple places all at once. She made sure to get every picture that we wanted as well as all the pictures that we didn't think about. She got all of the formal pictures as well as capturing all of the fun of the evening. She is very open to suggestions, very professional, and affordable. Danielle was awesome and I can't wait to use her again for future photo sessions!
