Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo

eceived three voicemails and one text message from us asking him to return his suit rental.  Your wedding was on August 6th and the suit was due back on August 8th.  When we learned that one of your groomsmen’s vests was not returned (Matt F.), the groomsman kindly offered to text the groom twice to remind him to return his suit.  Austin ignored all voice and text messages and made no attempt to communicate with us.  On August 29th, 23 days after the suit was due back, we left a message for him that since we had not heard back and he had not returned his suit, that we would have to escalate the situation.  As a small-family business, having a suit not returned hurts our ability to earn a living and robs other grooms and groomsmen to wear the suit for another wedding.  We then called Austin at work to let him know that we had to take the next steps to either be compensated for the suit or have it returned to us.  This suit is worth over $1,000.  After 23 days of not returning a rental, this is considered stolen property.  The receptionist asked us who we were.  We identified ourselves and after a long wait, she said Austin was not available.  We asked to be sent to voicemail but she refused to do so unless we told her the purpose of the call.  We said that Austin did not return his suit rental from his wedding on August 6th.  Austin called us immediately after that voicemail and apologized.  He said the two of you went on your honeymoon and he had given the suit to his mother to return but she never returned it.  However, according to two of your groomsmen, you had returned from your honeymoon two weeks earlier so we don’t understand why he didn’t contact us as a result of our multiple attempts.  We make it very easy to communicate with us; you can even text our store’s telephone number.  Had you or Austin communicated with us at all, we would have had the suit back without this escalation.  Coincidentally, the missing vest from the other groomsman turned up in Austin’s late returned suit last night.  As of last night, no late fees have been paid by the groom and we texted him that his shirt was not included in the return.  He kindly responded by text that he would look for his shirt.  Thank you for allowing us to share what happened.

I'm smiling at the over-enthusiastic guests - sometimes the well meaning excitement can make the visit 'confusing', but we know how to make sure everyone feels involved while always protecting the bride. Tori will be so happy to read this and I can't wait to share it with her. If you need anything in the meantime please text the store number and we are ready to assist. m sure the wedding was so much fun! We do not have a seamstress in our store, but we refer to vetted bridal seamstresses - and it allows us to support local small businesses like us. Our goal is to get the bride the closest size possible so she avoids excessive alteration costs. Some stores with in-house seamstresses aren't as concerned about that and charge accordingly for all of the extra adjustments. After speaking to our employee Rob who assisted you with the tuxedos, speaking to one of the owners who personally managed the groom try on, and reviewing the written notes on your file, we learned the following: during your husband’s groom try on January 29, 2022, 6 months before your wedding, you indicated that you personally liked the darker Allure Men gray tuxedo and John, your husband, stated that he preferred the lighter gray Michael Kors tuxedo. John specifically stated he did not like the flaps over the pockets on the Allure tuxedo and much preferred no flaps on the lighter gray Michael Kors tuxedo. Rob, our tuxedo employee, and one of the owners said that John chose the lighter Michael Kors tuxedo at the end of the try-on in January and you agreed to allow him and the groomsmen to wear that one. The owner showed both you and John the jacket to confirm the chosen tuxedo for the wedding at the groom's try on. Ten days before your wedding, a groomsman told us that you stated that the groomsmen did not have the correct tuxedos. We immediately called the groom and he told us that he preferred the Michael Kors tuxedo that the guys were picking up and to leave the choice the same. We insisted that there was plenty of time to change; we told him we would have any changes ready within a day or two. He said he much preferred the lighter tuxedo that everyone ultimately wore. As for items not fitting properly, our records show very few items were exchanged for the groomsmen for the wedding. As a family business, we truly attempt to accommodate any need we can. We would have gladly changed the tuxedos from your original choice had you and John requested that. We will certainly keep your feedback in mind when serving future brides and grooms.
