size shuttle to hire, according to my father who handled transportation. We had a coach shuttle making one trip from our hotel in Norwalk to our venue in Ridgefield, a 25-30 minute drive. The short of it: The driver left the hotel a full 30 minutes late and had it not been for one of our guests who spoke up, who knows when they would have started moving! Needless to say, this delayed our whole timeline. When they arrived at the venue, the driver did not actually pull in to the front driveway - I still don’t understand why (as the bride, my coordinators & wedding party did everything to keep this under wraps from me). It was an unseasonably chilly, rainy day - what a disappointing experience for our guests to not get dropped off in an appropriate spot. For the return trip, the driver AGAIN did not pull into the driveway, leaving my guests to traverse a wet lawn in the dark. Grateful to my amazing wedding coordinators who softened this blow as best they could! The finale was taking a…puzzling…route back to the hotel, nearly doubling the time. Yes, there was light road work happening on one of the main roads, but my husband & I took the exact same route in a private car and it added no more than 5 extra minutes to the trip. It was a straight-forward, one-exit detour. We expected so much more from a professional driver and established transportation company. Our entire wedding planning process, we were “guest-forward” and it makes me cringe how bad this experience was for our guest. Not only the ones riding in the shuttle, but all of the others who arrived on time and had to wait around. Crappy weather on your wedding day is always a bit of a bummer - but the rest of our wedding team pivoted perfectly & with ease, meanwhile DATTCO made it worse.

ckup location for 2:15pm and depart at 2:30pm, arriving on site at 3:30pm. Bus arrived extremely late and arrived late to the venue (4:18pm). I had to delay the ceremony start by 30 minutes so that I could have my grandma participate. Absolutely embarrassing experience as I had to choose to either start the ceremony without my grandmother, or keep all of the other guests and my wife waiting. Imagine having to make this decision on your wedding day before you book DATTCO.
Furthermore, DATTCO automatically charges a driver gratuity in advance of the service. What a scam! So the driver shows up late, delays the wedding, and gets to go home with a tip! What a dishonest way to do business. For all other vendors, gratuity is earned through exceptional service, but that logic doesn’t apply to this company.
Lastly, I called my contact at DATTCO two days after the event, and he had no idea that there were any issues with their service on the day. The event report had no details indicating any trouble. I assume that those involved were trying to cover up the mishap, which is troubling. No accountability being taken here. I would strongly recommend against hiring this vendor. For a wedding, hire another bus company who cares about you.

ip shuttle transportation for our guests from the Marriott Hotel in Wallingford to The Pavilion on Crystal Lake on November 6, 2021.
Sadly, there was a terrible accident on 91 causing the highway to shut down. From what I understand, (told to me a week later) the first bus sent to the Marriott was stuck on the highway with nowhere to go. My emergency contact (who was my right arm the day of the wedding) told me (much later) that Dattco kept in constant communication with her and sent a second bus to the location. Our guests arrived about 15 minutes after the cocktail hour started but they made it ! I say much later as no one wanted to tell me what happened until the wedding was over.
Our guests said the bus was great and it was so much nicer than a school bus. The bus and the seats were clean and after a night of celebrating, our guests were safe and happy.
I had called a few other companies prior to booking with Dattco. They were cheaper (a few hundred dollars) however, I was hesitant to do so. A few reasons, reliability, insurance, etc.
I will say I am glad I went with my instincts and booked with Dattco. I would highly recommend you and your team to anyone needing bus transportation.

On the day-of, we did have an issue with one bus arriving 30 minutes late to pick up the bridesmaids from the hotel and bring them to the venue in time for the ceremony. The timelines were coordinated and approved by DATTCO, and it was all outlined correctly on our itinerary and contract. This required the groom and mother of the groom to frantically contact DATTCO’s 24 hour service line to figure out the delay and resolve the issue. During the time that the driver of the bus was supposed to return to the hotel to pick up these bridesmaids, he was seen on his phone in the venue parking lot. This was extremely disappointing and caused undue stress on the day.
Other than this, the timelines were followed as expected and we were all safely transported, which was the primary goal.

ided to give them a shot. I really regret that now and should have trusted all of the warnings! The groom, his groomsman and family were staying at a hotel. After the bus was 15 minutes late, we had to call to find out a status. At that time we were told the bus was stuck in traffic! No call, no updates, nothing. This was normal summer traffic and the company did not plan for any traffic or delay. The bus finally arrived over a half hour late. When we had called about the bus, we inquired if the trolley would arrive on time. We were transferred around only to be told there were mechanical issues with the trolley and it had not left yet! This was less than an hour before the ceremony and travel time was well over an hour to our location. We continued to need follow up with dispatch for a status. They finally agreed to send a huge coach bus after we urged them about timing. The bus arrived at 1:30 to pick us up for 1:30 ceremony! The driver was very kind, but we were extremely late to the ceremony! The customer service was TERRIBLE. No communication about delays, not answering at dispatch, misinforming the customer! This is not how you want to spend your wedding day! The driver was very nice, and they sent the trolley to take us finally from the ceremony to reception. Beware! ey had clear instructions to depart the hotel at 3:45pm and return at 10pm - that is all. They confirmed this with me one week before my wedding. I specifically requested that Dattco confirm that all drivers are equipped with GPS and will use them to travel to and from locations, which they said they did. Well, the wedding day came, and the driver apparently thought that the bridal party would be getting on the bus with the guests, so he held an entire just for the wedding party, cramming all other guests into the remaining bus. Because of this, and the fact he did NOT use a GPS, our ceremony started 20min late! Even worse than that was coming home. The driver should have used his GPS to get us back to the hotel, but he didn't. So our 20min commute back took AN HOUR. He did this with the heat on and at least fifteen of our passengers yelling instructions at him, which he screwed up twice. He also had the heat cranking, so the bus was over 80 degrees inside and people were yelling for AC. Because he took so long, half of our guests did not join in us in the hotel for the afterparty, which was a huge disappointment. He certainly doesn't deserve the 20% gratuity included and Dattco certainly shouldn't be considered for a transportation company. A similar situation happened to my in-law's when they used Dattco for their wedding, but since it's 2018, I had hoped that they put their big boy pants on and figured out GPS systems. Apparently I was wrong. Never. again.

On the other end of the evening we couldn't fit everyone on what was supposed to be the last shuttle but the driver was so wonderful and came back (despite it being very late and past his committed time). oomsmen there was not a trolley, but an ugly mini white school bus looking thing. We were not notified before pick up time that we were not getting the trolley. The driver didn't even know that we had not been informed and felt horrible (he was a very nice man), but the experience was still terrible. This all happened an hour before the church started. Not only were we not notified that we were not getting the trolley, but the bus they did send was not as large as the trolley and we had a large wedding party that could not all fit in it. Needless to say this was very stressful to deal with directly before the wedding. I was able to call another company and get a stretch limo so that myself and father would not have to pull up to the church in a terrible looking white mini bus that said Dattco all over it. Needless to say this made us about 30 minutes late and cut into our picture time in between the wedding etc. I would never trust Dattco EVER again, especially not on an important day like your wedding when everything should go flawless.
