We chose David Alan Hospitality Group as our wedding caterer at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. David Alan was among their preferred vendor list and after researching all of the options, it was the best choice. Their pricing was extremely fair, their options were endless, and their staffing was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We worked with Rachael throughout the planning process, who was extremely attentive and always available to help us/answer our questions. On the day of, our main coordinator was Jenaya who was equally as amazing! On top of all this, the food was AMAZING. We loved our food at the tasting and it was just as good, if not better, the day of. Many guests, even 1 month later, are still complimenting us on how amazing the food was. Sometimes at weddings the food can be sub-par, but I can truthfully say that David Alan's food is incredibly delicious.

David Alan executed my wedding flawlessly! The customer service from the beginning was top tier and I felt I was heard and listened to. Jenaya and Rachael are SUPERSTARS and my day would not have turned out the way it did if it wasn't for their professionalism and dedication. The food was absolutely incredible and I heard praise for days, even weeks, after my wedding. Please do not hesitate to book them for your special event.

The David Alan team is incredible! From tasting through to wedding, the team was amazing and really helped make our day so special. They were flexible in ensuring we had all of the food choices we wanted, even working with us to customize various dishes to meet dietary restrictions and our favorite foods. Their knowledge of our venue (Wadsworth Mansion) was invaluable and team is incredibly kind. We highly recommend them!

David Alan was the caterer of our dreams. They were so much more than the absolutely fantastic food. From the tasting to table settings, ceremony set-up to reception coordination, they made our wedding the most beautiful day. Jenaya took care of every detail in planning down to the smallest details of our menu and up to coordinating the ceremony and reception for our large indoor winter wedding in a multi-roomed mansion. Rachel was our day-of coordinator, and we couldn’t have done it without her! We did our own décor, and she set it up for us, accomplishing a magical feel that we couldn’t have imagined ahead of time. We had some vendors come late, and Rachel took the worry right out of our hands, commanding us to enjoy the day and getting all our vendors together in the background, without a hitch! Every single thing we discussed ahead of time – setting up family photos, arranging our guest table flowers, timing for lighting our candles, and moving chairs without getting in the way of our guests in an already tight indoor space – was done and then some. And at the end of the night, Rachel had us all packed up by the time we had finished saying goodbye to our last guest – we made it to the after party without delay! Rachel is enthusiastic and detailed-oriented, and we were so grateful she was there with us for our day. And finally, Allie was our bridal attendant. She was so kind to us. She took care to reassure me when my emotions threatened to overwhelm me right before walking into the ceremony, handed us our signature drink the minute the wedding ended, and made sure we were fueled by snacks for the entire evening while we visited with our family and friends and danced the night away. David Alan could’ve told us over and over that things couldn’t be done – we couldn’t fit all our guests into the configuration we wanted for our dinner, or that they couldn’t help with our décor (these were all things we heard from other caterers when we interviewed them) and they never did. They helped us to plan the perfect wedding day, making sure the vision we had was achievable, and taking care of even the smallest details for a perfect day. We are so grateful, and we would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding of their own!

Rachael was amazing and such a quick responder to all of my email questions. They made the day perfect. All of the catering staff was so amazing and attentive. Rachel went to the venue prior to the wedding to look at the set up of everything and it was amazing. Super professional and worth the cost.

We truly cannot say enough good things about David Alan. The team was so easy to work with and every single person on the staff did an AMAZING job on our wedding day. They executed the entire reception flawlessly and the food was to die for. We had so many guests coming up to us throughout the night to tell us that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding and some are STILL raving to us about it days later. We were so lucky to have them as part of our special day and forever grateful for helping to make it so perfect. Would highly recommend DAC to anyone!!!

Highly recommend David Alan for your wedding caterer! The food was so delicious, we got compliments all night long. We instantly felt special when we arrived at our tasting upon booking and were so impressed with how much food we got to try (with full sized portions)! Not only was the food amazing but the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable that we instantly booked with them. DA was present for our final walkthrough and were so thorough that I felt beyond confident that the wedding day would run smoothly. Their flatware and table presentations are gorgeous and all of the food was displayed beautifully. They also made sure that my husband and I had anything we needed during the wedding and brought us apps and drinks throughout the night. The bartenders even hand delivered us drinks before last call which I thought was so nice. Our guests had clean plates by the end of dinner they loved the food so much. Can't recommend enough! Rachael is an amazing woman and deserves all of the praises!! She and her team worked my wedding about 3.5 weeks ago and I would absolutely hire David Alan Catering again without question! She was so easy to work with and just an overall fantastic individual. We got so many compliments on our menu choices and that it was the best wedding food ppl had ever had!! I can't even put into words how absolutely wonderful it was to work with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding. From the initial call with David to our wedding day with the DAHG team it was an incredible experience. The team went above and beyond to make sure that we felt comfortable, excited, and fully taken care of during planning through to the end of our day. The food was incredible and we got constant compliments on it being "the best wedding food" our guests had ever had. I cannot thank the entire team enough and cannot recommend them more for someone else's wedding day!

We cannot say enough good things about Meghan and the entire team at David Alan. From start to finish they were incredible at keeping in touch, answering questions, and just keeping us updated at all turns. It's truly amazing how they can customize their packages for exactly what you need, and at the fairest prices around! We feel so so lucky that we were able to book them for our wedding! Everyone is still raving about the food! Not only did the team provide great catering service, but they were also an immense support emotionally for us on the day. They were a calm voice and a happy smile that really really made a difference during such an overwhelming day! :) We appreciate you guys more than you know!

David Alan went above and beyond to make sure our wedding at The Lounsbury House was perfect! The were so accommodating with planning tastings and making changes to the menu. They even made mini milk shakes to serve with our late night sliders! Meghan was so easy to work with and really helped the planning process to go smoothly. Our guests loved the food and we couldn't be happier!

DAHG catered our wedding at the end of August. It was an absolute pleasure working with them from start to finish. Renee was our coordinator and did an amazing job. She helped us plan a menu that met my high standards for food but also fell within our budget. A couple months out from the wedding, our friends and family are still talking about how amazing the food was, especially the passed hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour. One guest even remarked that the mashed potatoes served were the best he's ever eaten. I would also like to point out that I did not have a wedding planner, and that I got married at a barn venue with no on-site employees. I cannot thank the DAHG staff enough for acting not only as my caterer but event coordinator as well. I sent them a spreadsheet schedule and they worked seamlessly with our band and photographer to ensure the day's events flowed smoothly. I cannot tell you how much stress was alleviated from me knowing that they had everything under control. I really feel they went above and beyond in this regard. Our head waitress even helped mop up the bathroom floor after an overflow in the ladies' room... 100% not her responsibility but much appreciated!! Overall great food, great people, and flawless execution from David Alan Hospitality Group.

David Alan Hospitality Group was beyond incredible! The presentation and the food itself was 10 out of 10! My guests are still talking about how delicious their meals had been. Service was great as well. We had an outdoor backyard wedding and everything was perfect! And if you have the pleasure to work with the Rachael, the event coordinator, than you are very lucky, she is by far the best! I mean the day couldn't have ran more smoother and I have to thank her for that! Highly recommend!!!

David Alan executed the most fabulous cocktail hour and reception for us. Our day of staff went above and beyond in every way possible. We could not have loved our attendant more. He was fabulous! We are giving 4 stars, not 5 because communication was hard at points leading up to our day. The person assigned to us could only speak through email, not the phone. When we went for our tasting we also got some weird vibes from her. This is not to take away from the amazing service we actually received. We just felt that seating information shouldn’t have been asked for 2 days before our wedding and contractual dates were DA’s responsibility to reach out to us about. They missed the ball on some big things. It all ended up fine. Just being transparent.

We hired David Alan to cater our wedding at Wadsworth Mansion last month and it was the best decision. I can’t count the number of people that told us that was the best meal they’ve had at a wedding. They work so quickly, no wasted time=more time for dancing!

We had the MOST AMAZING experience with David Alan. Their food is delicious, their staff is so helpful and responsive, and they went above and beyond during the planning process and on the day of the wedding. First of all, the food: we did a custom menu and got to pick every single dish from cocktail hour to the dessert bar and they executed everything perfectly. Everyone raved about the food (still drool thinking about it). Second, they are so flexible with the planning! Lots of options for table settings and linens, the aforementioned menu customization, a BYO-alcohol option. And finally, the people we worked with there were fantastic! They responded promptly to all of our questions and were transparent about pricing and they also helped so much during the planning process. I loved them all so much. Truly the best part of our wedding was having David Alan.

David Alan was phenomenal. They made our own recipes a reality for our 135 guest! Our guest raved about the food and we loved it too. Staff member Brandi is amazing and made sure that we had drinks all night long. Lauren was super calm and helpful in organizing every single detail. I felt so comfortable knowing that they had everything under control!

The David Alan team was SO incredibly easy to work with, and extremely responsive to our questions before and after booking. We had originally gone with another caterer our venue recommended, and when their communication pretty much stopped, we ended up switching to David Alan, and I cannot emphasize enough how happy we are that we did! We communicated over email and phone calls with both Rachael and Lauren and they both were amazing. On the day of, Magaly was also incredible and made sure everything went according to plan. David Alan not only provided amazing food, but they also helped set up and break down our decorations and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly on the day-of. When I say we did not have to worry about ANYTHING, I mean it. If you are looking for a flexible, communicative caterer with amazing food, you can't go wrong with David Alan!

I could not have been more impressed by the work that David Alan did. They were on point with every single detail and we’re more than comfortable with asking questions and making sure everything was 100%. The girls that helped by bringing us food and drinks were the sweetest ever. They even made sure my mom was all set and checked in to make sure she didn’t need anything. The food was also a huge hit, everything tasted perfect - just like our tasting appointments. A tremendous thank you to Rachel, Brandi and team for all that you do!!!

David Alan Hospitality Group did a fantastic job with our wedding end to end. We had to postpone twice due to COVID and they were more than accommodating and very responsive. The day of coordination was so helpful and they made sure everything ran smoothly and we were attended to. We couldn't have been happier with them! They also sent us a gift in the mail after our wedding, you can tell they really care about their clients.

We couldn't have picked a better caterer. David Alan Hospitality was not only professional and attentive, but they captured exactly the mood we were going for with their delicious food. The presentation was beyond anything we could have anticipated and the food was spectacular! Do yourself a favor and hire these people, you will not regret it!

David Alan was very helpful in planning and getting all of our decor set up and looked beautiful however, during cocktail hour there were not nearly enough appetizers for our guests. Half of them did not get any, including myself and my husband and our families. We had multiple meetings where we discussed our guest count and appetizers to be served. The dinner was good but some people had their steaks incorrectly cooked and some meals were cold. Brandy was our coordinator for the day and she was very helpful in asking my husband and I throughout the night if we wanted any drinks but we were very upset that we did not get any of the appetizers we had picked out and paid for.

David Alan Catering did an amazing job with our wedding food! From the very start they were so helpful in answering all my questions. They wrote out this amazing proposal for us based on our budget and gave us a few options. We opted for a banquet style dinner, a full bar (open for half the night, cash the later half), a 2 tier cake for cutting, and a milk and cookie bar for dessert. The bar tenders were also able to accommodate both of our signature drinks. Everything was so delicious! We also decided to hire their day of coordination services, which was the BEST decision we made. They set up almost all our decorations and took care of us the whole day! Thank you David Alan for playing such a key role on our special day.

Rachael was the most incredible person to work with. She was hilarious and her attention to detail was bar none. The way the team handled Covid cancellations and reschedules was so generous and professional. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect. The food was phenomenal, the staff was on their game from the minute they walked in the door, and they handled the whole night with grace and ease. The day of David Alan team perfectly catered to our friends and family and I am forever grateful.

When thinking back on my wedding, specifically working with David Alan, the first word that comes to mind is “attentiveness.” My wife and I never had to worry about David Alan missing a single detail. Kudos to Rachael, who was professional, polite and reassuring in every email and phone call. If you’re reading this review, you’re probably about to plan a wedding and you’re probably realizing that catering is going to be the most expensive line item on the bill so you don’t want to mess it up. I can confidently say, David Alan was a 10/10 experience – absolutely exceptional in every way. Wedding food usually is average at best, but that wasn’t the case with David Alan. A week after our wedding and we still get the occasional text from friends “The food was AWESOME! Please tell me you saved some apps that I can get from you!” And I’m able to personally vouch for that, despite the cliché that the married couple doesn’t eat, because Rachael made sure we had apps set aside for us to eat in private and our entrees waiting for us as well. Excellent food, excellent service and a genuine attention to detail that my wife and I will never forget. BEYOND happy with our experience!

The team at David Alan Hospitality Group made our wedding day one to remember. I worked specifically with Meghan and Rachel who helped put my mind at ease through our pandemic postponement and were there for me every step of the way. The catering was amazing, the room set up was spectacular, and the leadership by Rebecca the day of was nothing but fabulous. We are so happy we booked with David Alan as our caterers!

David Alan was a dream to work with from start to finish. They were professional, helped with every question I had over the course of 2.5 years, and of course the food was PHENOMENAL. Absolutely perfect. The cost was just an added bonus, more than reasonable. They decorated our venue exactly how I asked. The staff was SO KIND; I had guests comment after the wedding how wonderful the waitstaff was. At one point, I couldn't locate our day-of coordinator (different vendor) and their point person went above and beyond and made sure to grab my groom and I drinks so we didn't have to get up during dinner which wasn't her job per se. Hands down recommend this company 10/10 to anyone considering them. They were truly exceptional and one of our top notch vendors for all of our wedding festivities. You won't be disappointed. BOOK THEM!

Flawless. At first, we choose David Alan Hospitality Group (DAHG) for our wedding based on our initial feelings—food was amazing, staff was friendly & helpful, reviews were great. As time went on, it began to feel like it was a privilege and an honor to be able to work with DAHG. There actually aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe DAHG. We have two viewpoints: One of your common wedding planning and one of a global pandemic. When we thought we were having planning our original 2020 wedding, the staff DAHG was patient, understanding, kind, helpful, supportive, available. I was in contact with Meghan, who was handling our 2020 wedding and we had the privilege of meeting Rachael during our tasting. The food quality at the tasting was AMAZING—we took whatever was left home, nothing disappointed. Anything we wanted, any kitchen notes we wanted to make, was taken into consideration, and held at high regard. We booked them in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and then pivoted to 2021 due to the pandemic. When we made this decision, the staff of DAHG was compassionate and understanding and always helpful. During this transition to 2021, Rachael took over as our “go to” person. Rachael was there to ease our minds and worries, help up pivot to a safe wedding of our dreams, listen to me when I asked a million questions, respond to all those questions with patience and knowledge. She was there, along for the ride, and, on what felt like a very long journey, felt more like a friend. I don’t imagine that it is ease to work in a hospitality field—dealing with so many personalities and people—but Rachael has an understanding and belief that each couple is just as important as the next. She was.. she is amazing. Although knowing the catering company is made of little miracle workers, it is also very important to note FOOD. We are a family who loves food. And we must say THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. 5 people in 2 hours texted me to tell me that the filet was like butter! The quality of the food and presentation was at utmost importance to DAHG and you could tell in every dish. I can sit here and type a 5 page review on how much we loved DAHG and how satisfied we were with them. But, in short, if you need a caterer, don’t bother looking anywhere else—just go to DAHG.

We are so grateful for our experience with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding day held at Smith Farm Gardens! Navigating wedding planning during COVID was not easy, but Meghan was amazing to work with as she met each challenge with ease. She responded to my many emails and phone calls promptly, and she was always willing to give advice and recommendations whenever I needed it. We knew after our very first consultation with her that she had an abundance of knowledge and experience in the industry which gave us complete confidence in her ability to pull everything together. Meghan was very accommodating in working with us for our menu selection and budget at our tastings. Ultimately, the food was incredibly delicious and the presentation was beautiful, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Adding their wedding day coordination relieved so much stress as Rachael and Meghan headed up the execution of everything and everyone involved. I was thrilled that our ceremony and reception was exactly as I envisioned it to be! Our wedding day was perfect and seamless, and I’m so grateful to all the amazing people at DAHG who made it possible!

David Alan was phenomenal! Our wedding guests were blown away by the food at our wedding from the pass hors d'oeuvres to the plated meals to the late night apple cider donut holes. The food was just outstanding. We still receive so many compliments on the food from our wedding guests. We hired David Alan just three months before our wedding after we had to cancel our original venue due to covid and they were so accommodating. They even managed to get us in for a private tasting. The best part about David Alan is they are completely customizable. We had already printed our invites and menus prior to canceling our original venue, so David Alan completely replicated the original menu we had. It was amazing. I hope to go to another wedding where David Alan is catering so I can have the delicious food again!

Rachel was an absolute pleasure to work with, she responded quickly to every (every) single email we sent her way. Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious their meals and the passed hors d'oeuvres were. The dessert was a major hit. We cannot recommend them enough.

We are so happy we chose David Allen for our wedding. They came highly recommended from our Venue, and were a pleasure to work with. Carley and Rachael were always readily available to answer ALL (and there were a lot) of our questions. The taste-test was a BLAST and delicious. I wish we could do it again. They were quick to suggest adjustments when COVID hit to make our appetizers more covid-friendly. The food was amazing. Every single dish was raved about by guests (we got the tres mejor, salon, and parm chicken). We did a fun ice cream station instead of a cake, with treats and cupcakes on the side. They added popcorn to go which was a big hit. Highly recommend.

David Alan Hospitality Group was OUTSTANDING. They worked hand in hand with us to create the perfect menu for our guests and every bite of food they created was mouth watering. Meghan was excellent at answering any questions I had and Rachael was phenomenal as our day of person at the venue. Because of Covid, some of our wedding plans had to change and Meghan helped change those details along the way with no hesitation. They also changed their serving methods to make sure people were safe and the spread of germs were minimal. They made easy, grab and go, self serve appetizers for their harvest table and desserts. There staff was fantastic at making sure my husband and I as well as our families were taken care of as we were doing our nightly duties. I would highly recommend David Alan Hospitality Group to anyone needing a catering service. They made our wedding experience priceless.

I cannot speak highly enough of Rachael from DA. Rachael and her team went above and beyond the entire process and day of. She helped us customize our menu to reflect ours tastes and my husbands Haitian culture. She understood our vision for the big day and was there every minute to make sure it was everything we had hoped for. The food and presentation was incredible. 5 star rating for me. We had the best experience with David Alan Catering! We got married in October at the Glastonbury Boathouse and they were one of the catering vendors offered to us through this venue. We live in North Carolina and planned this wedding remotely, and Meghan was AMAZING to work with! She was available by email for all of my crazy questions/concerns and made sure that we were totally happy with our choices! The food was incredible and our guests raved about it. The bar options were totally flexible, which we loved. We ended up doing a top-shelf limited bar plus beer and wine and it was really affordable and delicious. Robin, our day-of coordinator, was wonderful and really helped calm the wedding-day nerves. I do wish that we went over things that were important to us - for example, I would have loved having groups of family members we needed pictures with ready to go during cocktail hour so that we didn't have to search and waste precious sunlight photo time. We can't say enough good things about Rebecca, our bridal attendant. She was so amazing and was somehow right by our side when we needed her, but never "in the way." I would definitely recommend splurging for the extra day-of service, but again, having clear discussions about things that are important to you. They set up the room beautifully (so much better than we could ever do) and made the day so perfect! We loved DAHG!

What can I say but working with David Alan Hospitality Group was an extremely pleasant experience!! Carley and her staff were so attentive and made the whole process run smoothly from day one until the end of the wedding! We used them for my daughter’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with every single detail. The most impressive part was that on the day of the wedding is I knew everything was going to be handled professionally and perfectly and that I didn’t have to worry about a thing!! I really enjoyed the day and could relax knowing that Carley and her team were taking care of all the details. The bartender, Robin was great! They had a bridal attendant to help things run smoothly with introductions and other details. They all seemed to genuinely love their jobs and it showed. Such wonderful people and the food was amazing!! They even had special meals for vegan guests. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and would highly recommended the DAHG for your next event!

David Alan was our second pick for a caterer (our friend is a chef at a restaurant that also provides catering) and we did love their tasting. But when we found out that they could also help us with day-of coordination even if they were not our caterer, we knew we needed their expertise! We worked with Carly in advance of the wedding for renting ceremony chairs, extra tables and tablecloths, and all of our glasses and plates (the restaurant would have had to rent them as well and would have passed an additional charge on to us). We also had Nate for our rehearsal , and both of them were there to make the day of absolutely perfect! It was so nice to just enjoy the moment and know that if something needed to happen we could count on them. We could not have done it without them; all of the details were handled and it all went so smoothly. We would absolutely use David Alan for catering as well as planning other events in the future.

As I read these reviews I am heartbroken that we didn’t have the same experience for our daughter's wedding. Their food and service was unacceptable. They advertise "superior service" and "attention to detail". We found a Facebook post on our Event Supervisor’s page 3 days before our event "looking for waitstaff for a wedding this weekend- must have reliable transportation". Really??? The servers were so inexperienced it took over 2 hours to serve 100 dinners, and the meals were cold. No water refills all night. Several guests commented that the staff "don't know what they're doing". Perhaps the chefs were new recruits too. The meals weren’t even close to what we had at the tasting. Our salmon and chicken dishes were dry, "crispy" eggplant was mushy, "apple chestnut risotto" was undercooked white rice. We were horrified and embarrassed to see our guests leaving their dinners barely touched. Megan didn't stop by during the wedding at all, as she said she would. Once they had our final payment they didn't even show up for the final walkthrough, they did it by conference call. I would not hire David Alan for an event, especially a once in a lifetime wedding. They are unorganized and deceitful.

There are no words to describe how wonderful it was working with the David Alan team leading up to the wedding. Meghan was extremely easy to communicate with and always responsive, offering recommendations, and options for us to choose from (even when we were a year out!). The whole team (Robin, Katrina) are so friendly and helpful, they made the day-of an absolute breeze, I did not worry about a thing and it all turned out exactly as we discussed (and better than we could have hoped for). The food was amazing, we got so many compliments. Their package deals are great value for the amazing quality you receive (cocktail hour options, dinner menu, desserts & cake, rentals, etc.) Doing everything through them was the best decision we made. There is no way the day would have run as smoothly without them there! We cannot recommend them highly enough!

From our first meeting, we knew we had to hire David Alan for our wedding at the Branford House. We had done food tastings at a few other caterers and were unimpressed. David Alan blew us away at our tasting and we knew immediately we had found the one. Meghan was fantastic from start to finish. She answered the million questions I had and worked with me through my indecisiveness. We had Robin on the day of the wedding. Robin and the rest of the staff were amazing. Our bridal attendant was right there for anything we needed. The food is fantastic!! We received so many compliments, especially on the sea bass (my personal favorite - I’m still drooling over it) and the prime rib. We had a few chefs at our wedding, so to have them praise the food really tells you how amazing David Alan is. They know the venue well, and worked great with our coordinator and other vendors. I did not worry about a single thing that day! I highly recommend David Alan - you will not be disappointed.

David Allen Catering could have not been any better. We wanted a Sunday vegetarian brunch wedding and they more than delivered. They had a menu fully customizable to what we wanted. We even found cute looking food on Pinterest and there was nothing they said could not do. Also, the tasting was amazing. So professional. Gave us the feel our guests would feel the day of. The whole process with DAC was nothing less than perfect. We also chose to do Day-of-Coordination through DAC and we honestly think that was the best thing we ever did for our wedding! Robin was our guru she knew everything and really guided us through complicated wedding planning.She also coordinated a great rehearsal. Our whole wedding party and family was so impressed with her professionalism and knowledge. Plus, she is super fun and nice! She ran the show the day of the wedding. She made sure everything was set up perfectly and the day ran smoothly. Also, shoutout to the best bridal attendant Taylor! She was with us the whole wedding to get us whatever we needed or wanted while smiling the entire time. We love her! The team took care of the wedding from start to finish. From setting up exactly how we wanted it to breaking everything down gently at the end of the night and making sure everything got home safe and sound. They even brought back items from our wedding to their office so we did not have to worry about it until a few days after when we could pick it up. We love all DAC and are so lucky to have had them on our wedding day! We cannot recommend them enough!!

I can honestly say that choosing David Alan Hospitality Group to cater our wedding at the Glastonbury Boathouse was probably the best decision that we made. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Meghan was extremely prompt, returned emails within a few hours and answered all of my million bullet point questions from my first inquiry email till the day of my wedding panic email. When we told them that we wanted to do a more casual, non traditional cocktail style reception, Meghan could not have been more helpful. Having had so much experience with weddings, she offered us sample menus and ideas that we could customize. When we wanted a particular Peruvian dish served (one that they had never done before), they were not only willing to do it for us, the chefs, including David Alan himself, went to a Peruvian restaurant for lunch to try the unfamiliar dish so that they would be able to make it taste as authentic as possible, and they did an amazing job! My husband and I still keep saying that we wish we could have taken containers of the food home so that we could still enjoy it. In addition, Brandi and Robin were both so extremely helpful the day of. Robin's calming nature was exactly what I needed that day and made everything flow and go exactly as it should between setting up, guiding us at the ceremony, helping to bustle my dress while feeding me ravioli (Brandi too!) and driving my mom back to the hotel when she missed the shuttle. I can't thank her enough. And Brandi always making sure I was eating, having a full drink in hand, fluffing my dress and for making sure the groom and I were doing okay at all times. You guys are all amazing and we thank you for making our wedding day so special and personal to us.

The entire team at David Alan was professional and a delight to work with. This crew knows catering, knows weddings, knows the venues and how to work a party. The quality of food was far above standard "wedding food". I highly recommend scallops, and watermelon salad passed appetizers. The chicken and waffles was more than a mouthful and difficult to manage as finger food. The steak entree was delicious. We also ordered brunch for the day after which was delivered hot and on time. Hats off to the entire team.

David Alan absolutely knocked it out of the park. We had read all the reviews below, so we knew that DA could handle the logistics, the table settings, etc. We were planning a very specific, very peculiar wedding, and we worried that DA might be too polished, too streamlined, that they might recommend options that were easier for them, rather than right for us. But holy s**t, were we wrong about that. Our wedding was an ungodly combination of Russian and American culture, with fish and pickles shipped in from Brooklyn, bottles of vodka on the tables, an insane Master of Ceremonies, all held in a venue without a kitchen and without air conditioning. The number of curveballs that we threw at David Alan was huge. But Meghan, our liaison, just kept saying “yes” to every suggestion. (Or brainstorming with us to find a practicable way to get our vision across). Her response time to emails was incredible. Carley, our day-of coordinator, was truly the Napoleon of event planning, making the space look gorgeous while interfacing with many vendors, only a few of whom spoke English. Rebecca, our Bride-and-Groom Butler (I’m sure she has a different title) was a rock star, insisting my wife and I put food in our mouths when all we wanted to do was dance. Our wedding was much better than we dared hope, and it was all thanks to the professionalism, vision and enthusiasm of the DA crew. 11/10. If you are getting married in Connecticut, don’t be a fool: go with the pros.

I had chosen David Alan Catering because they were highly recommended by Wadsworth Mansion where I got married on 7.20.2019. I was confident in my selection. However, there were some pros and cons I experienced while working with them. The positives were that my guests enjoyed the food and were served plentiful amounts. They did a great job serving my taco station and passing out the hors d'oeuvres. In addition, they had a very quick responsive time to emails. The bridal attendant Rebecca who was assigned to my husband and I was great and extremely attentive. However some of the cons were that it was frustrating seeing on my wedding day that they had put out the wrong linen colors outside and had the incorrect napkin color selected. I believe this is due to not having a proper labeling system because they have the same colors with multiple shade variations and finishes . They also were suppose to provide me with 75 gold votives for the dining room which they did not do. Also a little bit frustrating because I had purchased and provided them with 75 candles. The bartender working was not friendly and he did not make one of the signature drinks I had properly. They do advertise that you can customize anything you want but that is to a limited degree which I think is helpful to be aware of. Such as I originally wanted gelato at my wedding but I could only select from a few flavors. You can't just pick whatever you want. Also during dinner the service was staggered not everyone at one table was served at the same time. I thought for being a small wedding with 80 people they would have been able to do that. The issues I experienced were nothing major just some of personal my critiques. I would recommend using David Alan as everyone enjoyed the food and complimented me on it.

My husband and I are so glad we hired David Alan Catering for our wedding. We spent months looking for the perfect catering company and we finally stumbled upon them. Not only did they cater to our needs, meet our vision, and were extremely flexible but they were very mindful of our budget and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The food and service from day one was excellent and guests raved about it weeks after the wedding. Our Day of Event Coordinator, Robin was wonderful and made the day run smoothly and believe it or not…stress free! We remember everyone telling us how stressful the day of the wedding is and we can honestly say, we were not stressed at all knowing we had Robin and DAC running the day. Our bridal attendant was also amazing. She made sure we were hydrated, ate, help bustle my dress, and made sure everything was going smoothly. We would recommend David Alan Catering to anyone and cannot thank them enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

David Alan was awesome!! They were super professional and made our day so much easier. First off, they were super responsive to all of our needs in the build up to the wedding and then day of they had everything set up quickly and without any problems. The food was fantastic as well, especially the smores station, that was super cool! The best part about David Alan, though, was their staff. I wish I could remember their names specifically, but the woman running the whole show made everything go like clock work. The day of the wedding, it was 100 degrees outside and our bar was outside. This didn't deter the girl running the bar. She was friendly and was a great bartender despite the long day in the heat! They even assigned a girl to look after my wife and I during the reception. She always had cold water for us, without us asking and really helped out so much. We couldn't be happier with David Alan and highly recommend them!

I am so glad that we hired David Alan Catering for our wedding! Throughout this process, I learned that the caterer is really the most important vendor that sets the tone and runs the entire wedding, and the David Alan team is the absolute best! Many of my guests have commented that the food and service were excellent. We also hired Robin as our Day-of Coordinator and my family all said that she was absolutely amazing at managing every single detail. Our bridal attendant (the server dedicated to my husband and myself - I feel terrible that I can't remember her name) was also amazing. She brought hors d'oeurves from the cocktail hour down to us while we were taking pictures so we wouldn't miss out. She always had water and drinks for us. She was understanding that we were obviously new to this and a little overwhelmed, so she instructed us on how to cut the cake. She even brought over 2 of every dessert to our sweetheart table so, again, we wouldn't miss out. Beyond all of that, when my mom was trying to bustle my dress she got overwhelmed and upset because it was complicated, and Robin and the bridal attendant were able to calm her down and take care of it for her - above and beyond what I expected! I also can't say enough about how Robin was the HBIC and made everything run smoothly. Before the wedding the advice people gave was that something is going to go wrong, just roll with it. I can honestly say (and my family agrees) nothing went wrong at all! And if it did, Robin handled it so that no one knew :) We threw curveballs at DAC like giant heavy glass doors to set up for the ceremony and 50 bubble guns to assemble for the send-off, and they took everything in stride and handled it without issue. We can honestly say that we had the wedding of our dreams, and it was all thanks to David Alan Catering! I would recommend them to anyone. We can't thank you enough!!

Where do I even begin with how great this company is. From the initial tasting to all the communication working with David Alan was easy and flexible. Meghan helped me stick to my budget/work with the menu I wanted when other caterers were not at all flexible. Katie the day of bridal attendant was a gift from god. She made sure everything was running smoothly and handled everything with ease and grace. She kept making sure I was alright throughout the event and if there was anything I needed. She also came by herself to help set up the day before the wedding. I was anticipating doing all that myself and when I saw all the work she had done by herself I was completely blown away. She made the day go off without a hitch. These guys go above and beyond what any other caterer would do. Oh and our specialty cocktails were the best!!! Thanks so much!!!

Working with David Alan as my caterer was the best experience. We had a backyard reception and they were extremely prepared and made the whole process very easy. Meghan was always available to answer any questions or concerns I had no matter how silly I thought they were. Her presence at the wedding no doubt helped things run smoothly. Our bridal attendant was amazing and always available if we needed everything. Not to mention that the food was delicious! From our first tasting I knew we had to go with David Alan as our caterer. The creativity of the meals were a nice touch and they were great with working with us to make adjustments; even making sure my gluten free maid of honor could have the entree of her choice. Couldn't recommend David Alan Hospitality more!

We are posting this review for our wedding in May of 2018. We hosted our wedding at Wickham Park (see review on The Knot) and worked with David Alan Catering (DAC) for our food and drink needs. In short, they were wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We highly recommend David Alan Catering and would recommend them to all of our family and friends. We worked most closely with Meghan L’Heureux to plan the day and can’t speak highly enough about how helpful and knowledgeable Meghan was. I am a very detailed person when making decisions, especially in regard to such an important day, and can’t even count the number of emails I sent Meghan with what must have seemed like never ending questions and updates. Meghan handled all of this with professionalism and care as if they were the first time Meghan was being asked these questions, which I’m sure wasn’t the case. We had a wonderful experience with Meghan and DAC. Early on this started with a tasting where we asked to bring along a few family members to help make decisions about the meat options as we are two vegetarians. This experience was great and we really enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the plan for the day and taste everything, including the delicious cupcakes we had for dessert. From this point on Meghan communicated with us regularly and always responded promptly. The staff on the day of our wedding were fantastic and made everything so easy for us. We had to make a last minute change and move the day indoors when rain started and the DAC staff made this smooth as they packed up the planned bar and food and moved it all inside so quickly that the guests didn’t even notice. All of the meals, including a few special dietary requests, were fantastic and we continued to receive compliments from our guests well after the big day. The bar service, chef, and service staff all worked together seamlessly and kept everyone happy and full. I really can’t think of anything else we could have asked for and I wouldn’t change our decision to work with Meghan and DAC. The pricing and food was great, they were flexible to our needs, friendly, caring about our special occasion, and generally played a huge role in the success of the day. Easy choice as I can’t think of a single negative to share. Go with DAC!
