Day Dream Events by Shawna Pacheco LLC is built on over 35 years of experience in the industry. I have used this time to develop a process that celebrates each of her clients’ individuality while streamlining the practice of planning events big and small. My knowledge comes from my career in a variety of different roles, including a D.J. business owner, California licensed cosmetologist, catering manager, general manager, and the opening of over five major restaurants in the bay area. I am also ordained to marry in both Nevada and California. All of these different aspects play into wedding planning in a different ways and understands them intimately. I can help you make the most of them for your momentous event.
Day Dream Events offers a number of packages depending on the needs of your event. You can consult with myself to figure out which package works best for you. We can provide full event planning, partial planning, or day-of coordination. Your direction for your big day will be entirely dictated by you and we will be there to support you every step of the way.

From the planning stages to the rehearsal to the wedding day itself, Shawna went above and beyond to make things as easy and stress-free as possible for us. On the day of the wedding, I wasn’t feeling well, and Shawna didn’t miss a beat—she ran to my hotel room to grab my medicine and noticed when I hadn’t eaten dinner. She made sure food and ginger ale were waiting for me in our room that night.

She was professional but also so cool (I felt like I had an extremely knowledgeable and helpful friend right off the bat) and she went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered and hopped on just about every catering and coordinating call throughout the month or so leading up to our big day. For what you pay for you get SO much more out of Shawna and her team.
We also got married at a venue (The Hideout) that was pretty far away and she made the trek the evening before to walk us through rehearsal and the day of she was there and handling things on time and ready to go!

ngs at Park Home Ranch and it shows. She knows the property like the back of her hand. With that being said, some little details were missed. For example, my brother was a groomsman and he did not have a boutonnière for the ceremony. It was placed on the wrong person so he was the only one standing up there without a boutonnière. I am also not sure what happened to an additional boutonniere but my pastor didn't have one either. We did discuss her keeping the decor we didn't want, however, at the end of the night everything was getting boxed up before we could double check what we wanted to keep. A lot of the supplies were opened before knowing if all were needed (purchased flatware/plates) which could have been returned if unopened. As a day of coordinator for that specific venue she was great. She was kind and friendly and got the job done. In the grand scheme of things some minor things were missed. We did have the impression she would be assisting with a lot of the details a month prior to the wedding but seemed like we had to reach out/initiate those conversations. I am giving her a 4/5 simply because the minor details were exactly that, minor. There is room for improvement but the wedding day itself was smooth and that was important to me. It also helped that she was local to my wedding and did little things like pick up my florals that morning on the way to the venue. Thank you Shawna!

Starting with the rehearsal dinner, I had taken time to create custom name tags for each guest’s place setting. When I looked over, Shawna couldn’t find a few tags (even though there were enough for everyone) and instead flipped some over and handwrote names on the back. It looked messy, cheap, and unprofessional, and I ended up having to fix it myself before dinner even started.
On the wedding day, communication and execution were major issues. I didn’t hear from Shawna all morning, so I assumed everything was going smoothly. When I arrived, however, none of the details I had outlined in the shared Google Doc had been handled. Shawna arrived late and simply didn’t have enough time to complete the setup. Champagne flutes weren’t out or poured, the ceremony fans weren’t placed on benches, signage wasn’t hung, and overall setup was incomplete. My bridesmaids and their husbands ended up doing much of the work—something that should never happen when a coordinator has been hired to manage those details. I am so embarrassed by this.
Throughout the day, Shawna repeatedly seemed unprepared or unaware of key details I had already provided in writing. She asked where the seating chart was moments before the ceremony. The drink clips for cocktail hour were never put out, and the boutonnieres and corsages weren’t distributed or pinned on anyone in my family...
During the reception, there were no cues for the bouquet toss or garter toss, even though they were on the timeline. When it came time for our first dances, music started playing and I had to coordinate my own father-daughter and first dance because Shawna was nowhere to be found.
Finally, there was no announcement about the after-party buses or transportation home, which left guests confused and disorganized at the end of the night.
Overall, I genuinely don’t know what we paid for. I had provided extremely clear instructions and expectations, but almost none of them were followed. The lack of preparation, communication, and attention to detail was deeply disappointing.

so much easier than I could have imagined. From the beginning of our relationship she was helpful, calming, and provided a very comfortable experience in something that was completely foreign for myself and my husband. She provided templates that helped me keep my thoughts in order and our phone conversations were fun and light which I appreciated. She was honest and helpful with decision making and advice. She also made some of the smaller details of planning from afar so much easier.
After finally meeting in person on the afternoon of our rehearsal, I was really grateful to have hired her. She took control of our family members and made sure everyone was aware of their placements in a commanding but comfortable manner. Her familiarity with the venue we booked worked to our advantage as she was heavily trusted by the sales managers to be able to run the event. Our wedding was a hit and I have Shawna to thank for so much of the flow of the evening. We had such an amazing time and in classic bridal fashion, the only things that were messed up were things due to my missing the details in communications that no one else even realized were missed.
I also recommend using Day Dream Events because they offer decor rentals. This saved us HUNDREDS (probably thousands) of dollars and she had everything needed to make my vision come to life.

Shawna and her assistant made the wedding of my dreams come true. They decided to postpone the ceremony by 30 min, the sky cleared, and it was like nothing ever happened. They put together the most beautiful ceremony and reception, making sure my husband and I were fed and happy :). We had met Shawna years before, but instantly knew she was the one to coordinate this day when she moved to the area and established her business. They helped arrange our large bridal party at the rehearsal, which was extremely helpful! There are so many things we would have never thought about, but Shawna and Lisa made them happen & went above and beyond to ensure the day went perfectly!
