Decorative Sound

We used decorative sound for our wedding a few weeks ago and were delighted with our experience. We did our booking with Mike, and we met with him a week before the wedding to go over our music choices for the ceremony/reception. He sent one of his DJs to work our wedding (I feel terrible I can't remember his name, but he lives in Florida and was home visiting). He played great music and communicated throughout the reception to keep us on our timeline. He also provided the sound equipment for our ceremony. I highly recommend using Decorative Sound for your ceremony/reception needs.

For the price, I feel like we had an amazing DJ for our wedding! The planning process was thorough and the communication was attentive. Compared to other DJ services in the area this price was very good and came with lighting for the reception as well. They announced the ceremony and played the music for the reception. He followed all of our guidelines. The only reason I am putting four stars is because he definitely played more music for the older crowd than music I wanted to dance to, which was contrary to our wish list. Overall, it was the perfect day and I am thankful for their services!

Did an amazing DJ for our wedding. They helped not only keep the party going but with our ceremony music too!

We worked with Mike Baginski to curate our wedding reception and ceremony music. He had several tools that helped us select our music and met with us over the phone to finalize any details. They are extremely reasonably priced and several of our wedding guests said that our DJ was great. We had zero technical issues and since our venue didn’t have Wi-Fi, they made sure to pre-download all our music. They did a great job with our ceremony music.

Wow, Michael's experience shows through in all his work, between working with us on picking songs to making sure everyone is having a good time. He worked with us on our special event at our reception which was a Godzilla vs King Kong dance off. Turns out he was the DJ at my brother and sister in laws wedding almost 20 years ago.

Working with Michael ahead of our wedding was great! We loved that we could fill out planning sheets with songs that we and our friends and family requested ahead of time. Michael was very accommodating and communicative. At our wedding we had Joel from the Decorative Sound team as our DJ. There was a slight blip with my bridal march, but otherwise the rest of the night went off without a hitch. We appreciated Joel's hospitality and willingness to get us drinks from the bar before we made our grand entrance. Overall the music made the reception such a fun time. Thank you Michael and Joel!

We can not say enough good things about Decorative Sound! Michael was so personable and really took the time to get to know us as a couple. We had Nick as our DJ! Our dance floor was packed all night and many of our guests raved about how great the music was. We were also very impressed about how Nick took the time to go through everyone’s names to make sure he said them correctly and made sure my husband and I were having a great time throughout the night! It was great working with Michael and Rob from Decorative Sound! Michael, the owner was very helpful whenever we needed any music ideas. Our DJ Rob was super nice and he kept us informed all night when anything was about to take place. He played to our crowd and we had several compliments on his performance. Great company to work with!

Mike was very responsive and professional throughout the entire engagement and extremely accommodating with our Covid-19 rescheduling/delays. Joel was very professional at the reception as well. One issue was that they got my husband’s first name wrong during the reception entrance and while our favorite songs were played, the playlist I had discussed with Mike several times was not played. A week prior to the list of songs I sent via Spotify was confirmed that they were good choices and would be played at the reception but unfortunately most of the songs from our playlist were not played and songs that we never requested were even after I inquired twice about it during the reception. Overall, we had a good time and our dance floor stayed active. The decorative sound team was friendly, professional, timely and organized which was appreciated.

I was really excited about using Decorative Sound for our wedding after our first meeting. Great notes: They did make sure I had a drink in my hand and they did a good job organizing the night's events. Bad parts: There must have been communication issues on their end because they messed up the anniversary dance from our conversation with the owner, we requested no lines dances and had a couple of those, and they played several slow dances in a row that caused people to stop dancing.

Michael was easy to chat with and was a recemmended vendor for our venue. He is very flexible and was open to our daughter and son-in-law providing the music they wanted for the reception. He was very understanding through the COVID concerns. We were surprised when we had a DJ from Florida handle our wedding. He also was not aware of some of the changes that had been made and the acoustics with him speaking in a mask was not ideal (required by venue for all vendors). All in all everyone had a great time and the music was exactly what our daughter and son-in-law wanted.

We enjoyed working with Michael from Decorative Sound for our wedding. We were impressed with the communication and meetings with him leading up to our event. We had a DJ from Florida for our actual wedding day, which came as a bit of a surprise, though Michael did tell us if he couldn’t make it, we would have a sub. However, that confirmation would have been nice to have before the wedding day. Our DJ had received our songs and initial timeline information from Michael and overall did a good job. Pros: The dance floor was full all night, including during our cocktail hour with all the kids! He did a great job catering to our eclectic tastes, playing everything we and our guests wanted to hear…electronic music, country, love songs, classic music, funk, even a few Halloween songs! Towards the end of the night, he took a few requests from some of our friends for songs I hadn’t thought to add, which made the night even more fun. We received a CD with our reception songs, a nice touch. There were a few cons: We don’t know if it was the audio system, the acoustics of our venue, or the fact that the DJ wore a mask while speaking (maybe a combo of all three), but the speaking was very muffled. It was often difficult to understand what he was saying when he was cueing up some of the formal dances (e.g., father/daughter, mother/son, anniversary dance, etc.). This meant that people sometimes missed participating/viewing. He did not appear to have the latest timeline information from our wedding planner and accidentally cued an exit that we had cut from the plan. We were also asked during our pre-planning meeting which drinks we’d like to have waiting for us when we walked into our reception; however, there were no drinks ready or offered to us. Minor things, but worth noting. Overall, we were happy with Decorative Sound and would recommend their services!

Michael from Decorative Sound was wonderful to work with! He was always attentive and professional and had lots of great experience to help us plan our night. Adam was the DJ at our wedding and he could not have been nicer or more thoughtful. He kept the dance floor packed all night with a perfect blend of songs. All of our guests had a great time!

We hired Decorative Sound for our wedding this past weekend and I’m so happy we did. He did music for the ceremony and the reception portion of the wedding, everything went flawless. From the prelude, to our officiants mic, all the way to the last song of the night was perfect!

Decorative sound did amazing! Joel was our DJ and so fun. We have a list of must play’s, songs we liked, and please don’t play songs. He did amazing and throwing in other songs that weren’t on our list but got people up and dancing. The very few times the dance floor was clearing out he transitioned to another song that got even more people out. We’ve had so many guests comment on how great the music was. We just had our wedding on June 26th 2021, Michael was great and helped our day run super smoothly. He truly went above and beyond to capture our taste in music and make sure everyone had a good time. Talk about full service. From planning day 1 to all the twists and turns COVID put in front of us I was so thankful for Mike and his team at decorative sound. Decorative Sound made our wedding night! To start off, our phone calls with Michael were always so positive and happy - we left our meetings feeling SO dang excited for our big day! He is an incredible person to work with. Our DJ, Kevin, was incredibly thoughtful and thorough in his music choices. He kept the dance floor packed and bumping all night long, and kept the night flowing seamlessly! He also was constantly bringing my husband and I our drink of choice which was AWESOME because it is impossible to keep a drink in your hand for longer than 5 minutes when being pulled in different directions all night. We had such a great experience with Decorative Sound! Mike always responded quickly to our questions and was a really pleasant guy when we met with him. He took lots of notes when we were going over what kind of music we wanted and didn't want at our reception. Our DJ was Nick and he did an outstanding job! Our dance floor was full until the very last song. He was smart about what requests he accepted from guests and which ones he did not, which we really appreciated! They really do a great job of listening to what you want as a couple, but also playing things that keep people out on the dance floor. Our whole evening ran so smoothly! My husband and I were so happy with our choice to work with Decorative Sounds as our wedding DJ. Tony did a fantastic job and helped our wedding day run seamlessly. He arrived early in the day and coordinated the music and cueing for the ceremony, and then got the party started right away during cocktail hour! Tony did a great job getting our bridal party pumped before the reception as well! He was excellent at reading the crowd and playing songs that kept everyone on the dance floor all night long! Not only did he provide great music and entertainment for the night, but he also went out of his way to capture photos and videos for us too. Tony went above and beyond to gift us with a soundtrack to our ceremony and reception, as well as a beautifully compiled video to help us relive our best day ever!

Cannot say enough about Decorative Sound! We had Michael himself to DJ our cocktail hour and reception and could not have been happier! Michael takes so much time to find out what songs are actually important to the couple and WHY they are important and he works every detail into the music played. He made personal shout outs throughout the night and he REMEMBERS what songs who likes at what time. One of my favorite memories is during dinner my favorite Kip Moore song started to play and I was just SO over the moon with emotions eating dinner, at our reception, hearing Kip Moore. I immediately looked over to Michael who gave me a head nod and a wink because he knew he had made this bride's night! My husband and I were so thankful for him personally handing us our wedding CD at the end of the night as well. It's such a nice touch. We had to shoo people off the dance floor at the end of the night! So many details are nailed by Decorative Sound!

This was probably one of the best choices we made for our wedding day. The meeting prior to the wedding were easy to set up and they make the music selection process effortless. On our wedding day Kevin was a great DJ and had all the events of the reception running smoothly.

Wow. We cannot even express how amazing these guys were at our wedding reception. Everything was beyond what we could have ever imagined. Adam was phenomenal, catering to myself as well as Kara and keeping the dance floor one of the busiest I have ever seen. I received so many compliments during the reception, I took a pocketful of his business cards and started handing them out! We have also received even more praise for his work since the end of the reception. They were so great and we cannot thank them enough for the amazing service!

Decorative Sound was great to work with! Our DJ Adam made sure we were informed throughout our reception on anything that was coming up. We received several compliments on the great job he did! Our dance floor was never empty & he definitely worked well with our caterer, photographer & photo booth company! Three weeks before our wedding, we sat down with Michael, the owner & he really helped us with some great suggestions! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone in search of a great DJ company!

Decorative sound is the way to go! We danced the night away and the DJ never missed a beat. Michael is incredibly professional and ensures all details are taken care of. If I could do it all over again, decorative sound would be my pick without a doubt.

These guys are AMAZING! Right from the beginning, Michael was so easy to work with and provided us with worksheets that really helped us to think about all of the songs we could include in our wedding. On the big day, our DJ worked so hard to keep us on track/schedule and truly organized the night into something so special. They listened to all of our requests and even play my sister and brother in law's first dance song which was such an awesome surprise for them. I really cannot thank Decorative Sound enough for all of their hard work, they made the night stress free and allowed me to just enjoy and have fun!

Working with Decorative Sound made our lives easier, they had a list of every song we needed along with plenty of suggestions based on our taste. They were also always quick to respond to any questions we had. However, we were disappointed to find out right before our outdoor ceremony that the DJ would not let our officiant use the microphone due to some light rain. The microphone is something we had verified ahead of time they would have for us (otherwise we would have had our officiant bring his own.) Unfortunately, this meant many of our guests could not hear the ceremony.

We were very happy with choosing Decorative Sound! The dancing part of our reception was very important to us and he did not fail to keep the party going! He kept us informed and our needs and wants in mind, and kept people on the dance floor! We are very happy and people are still raving about how much fun they had!

Great pre-meetings with Mike, the owner. He gave us great ideas and also gave a real life picture of what the event would entail- start to finish. Our DJ did a great job of keeping a drink in our hands and checking in with us throughout the night. They pay attention to the details too- making sure every name is pronounced right and that everyone is in the room for the important things, like the dances. He did a great job with our OSU vs MI dollar dance also- really hyping up the rivalry! We were very pleased.

Michael was great! He was very helpful filling in the holes during the planning process. He also kept the night flowing perfectly and kept our guests on the dance floor! Decorative Sound was everything we hoped for in a DJ and more. The playlist was exactly what we had talked about and the sound level was never too loud. Plus, he brought us our first drinks of the night and kept us very well informed of when each special dance or event was coming up. Decorative Sound was recommended to us by our wedding venue, and what a great recommendation! We met with the owner Mike a few weeks before the big day to make sure we had everything planned out (ceremony music, wedding party introduction song, cake cutting song, first dance, garter toss song, etc.). We had a couple songs that are special to us but aren't really good dancing music -- Mike helped us figure out how to fit them into the evening. We also had a couple items like the last dance where we weren't sure what we wanted, and Mike was able to help make some suggestions that were right aligned with our music tastes! Mike was super easy to talk with, and I left the consultation knowing we were in good hands. On the day of the event, Joel was our DJ. Joel did a great job keeping everyone out on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. Joel also did a seamless job with the ceremony music. Throughout the evening, I found that I didn't have to think about the DJ at all, which sounds weird, but was actually amazing. There is a lot going on at the reception, and as the bride, it was nice to have someone else making sure everything stuck to the timeline so I could talk to aunts and cousins and friends. Each time, Joel found us a few minutes before he needed us (for introductions, first dance, garter toss, cake cutting etc.) to tell us what was coming up next. The rest of the time he kept things running smoothly without any need for input from us. Amazing! Thanks Joel and Mike for a great party and memories to last a lifetime.

Michael was an AMAZING DJ! He was super helpful in keeping the night rolling and helped us ease our anxieties about the flow of the night! He went above and beyond what we expected too! Right after we exited the ceremony, he immediately handed us both wine to celebrate and cool down (it was 95 degrees). While we were taking pictures he also came over and handed us water multiple times! He was so kind and listened to all we wanted in our reception and made it all happen! We highly recommend Decorative Sound!

I wish I could give them double the stars! They were absolutely fantastic! From the first initial phone call to hugging our sweet DJ good bye at the end of our reception! Our dance floor was PACKED the entire night and the DJ made us feel like royalty!! I could not sing higher praises!!

Michael was amazing! He was very responsive and ensured we thought of everything ahead of time. A DJ is a very important choice for a wedding – they are the ones who tip the scales between an ok wedding and a fantastic wedding. Decorative Sound knocked it out of the park. Michael was very professional with the planning aspect, making sure our musical tastes were well represented. Which is a hard task, as we don’t listen to a lot of ‘dancing’ music. Rob (our DJ for the night) kept our families on the dance floor the entire night – he not once played from our ‘Do not play list’ and was always there with a drink in hand for myself and the groom. It is always a good sign when the vendors look like they are having a good time – and Rob had a smile on his face the entire night.

Michael truly ran the show at both our ceremony and reception. He played everything we'd requested, made sure people were where they needed to be for important events, and debriefed everyone of jobs before they happened. He was EVERYWHERE. He even made sure my husband and I were getting enough water! Everyone thought he was spectacular. You can tell he's been doing this awhile. He even dealt with an unruly relative during my MoH's speech, and even that was handled perfectly. I can't speak highly enough of everything Michael did for us. It was 100% perfect.

Decorative Sound was one of our best decisions we made for our wedding! As someone who is very particular about the music played during our reception, they were able to accommodate my requests without any trouble. Kevin, the DJ at our wedding, was nothing short of amazing. He not only wore a matching tie as the wedding party, but he had drinks ready to go for us before the reception. Our wedding was at the zoo, and during the cocktail hour, he played music that set the ambiance of the theme. We were so happy they made our special day even better, and we HIGHLY recommend them to any couple getting married in the Toledo area!

Michael was phenomenal to work with. He made music planning so easy and worry free. He provided speakers and mic's for the ceremony, he even brought drinks down to us while taking pictures in the Grotto. He kept people on the dance floor all night and made sure we kept on schedule and people knew where they needed to be. Would work with again.

We loved working with Decorative Sounds! Everything was very professional from the pocket square matching the wedding color to the set-up of the DJ table. We met with Michael 3 weeks before our wedding and talked about how we wanted the wedding reception to go and he made it happen! We had 22 people ( wedding party and ushers) involved in the introduction part of our reception and Michael made sure they were all there and lined up in proper order before announcing the names. That was a huge part in starting our reception off on the right track! We continue to get compliments about the DJ and even had some friends ask for his contact information so they can book him at their weddings. We highly recommend Decorative Sounds!

Decorative Sound was fantastic! They helped to create the wedding of our dreams. They were so organized and helpful. They kept the flow of the wedding going and helped to create all of our wedding wishes. They even wore a suit to match our wedding colors. They handed us our drinks all night long and gave us a CD with all our songs from our wedding. I would use Decorative Sounds for any event or occasion!

Decorative sound was an amazing DJ service and I'm so glad that we choose them! They made the planning process extremely easy and kept everyone on schedule the day of the event! Decorative Sound was everything we could have wanted in a DJ. We first met with Michael who had actually been the DJ at my cousin's wedding almost ten years prior; we loved meeting him and spent most of the time comparing musical tastes before we got into the actual wedding business portion of the consultation. Michael offered us a coupon since he was technically a referral from my cousin - I thought this was an awesome gesture since their wedding was so much further in the past. We had about a million specific song requests that we wanted to be played (clearly exaggerating, but it was a very long list). Decorative sound made sure that they fit in almost every single song at some point in the night! They kept our guests dancing all night long and actually asked if it was ok to stay an extra hour since people were still having a great time - obviously we said yes! Our specific DJ was Rob, we really liked his personality, professionalism, as well as his sense of humor. He went along with anything we asked, which included giving up his microphone so that Aaron and I could sing 'Little Talks' by Of Monsters and Men. Most of our family and guests haven't seen us sing since our last high school musical and many said that was one of the highlights of their night. He continued to be accommodating because somehow my dad missed the performance and essentially demanded an encore at the end of the night; sorry/thank you Rob for obliging him! I love that they included CDs of all the music that was requested, it is such a nice touch and we love to relive our wedding day through the music :)

I have never been to a wedding with so many people dancing. KEVIN was awesome, he made sure to keep us informed while letting us enjoy the night. He also knew just what to play to keep people dancing and engaged. Leading up to the wedding Micheal helped us fill out our questionnaire and went through it with us to make sure out night was perfect. Decorative sound is defiantly worth the price!

We really enjoyed working with Decorative Sound for our wedding. We had many recommendations from friends and family in Toledo, and we would agree with all of them. They were very organized and walked us through a timeline of the day to make sure we were all comfortable and on the same page. Mike also went through very specific details such as the songs we want to play, when to play them, and who they will appeal to and make sure everyone gets on the dance floor and has a good time which was extremely important to me. They also worked with our wedding coordinator and venue to make sure everyone was on the same page. I'm very glad we listened to the recommendations we were given about Decorative Sound.

Decorative Sound was a class act for our wedding reception. Several friends and family members had them for their weddings, and we knew it was a must for ours. Mike was very responsive and helpful with all of our questions. Their availability speaks for their skills. We booked over a year before our wedding and got the last spot for our day. Mike was very helpful at our meeting a few weeks before the wedding. We picked out all the details for the big moments, and he had several suggestions to fill in any blanks that we had. Rick was our DJ and was FANTASTIC! Our dance floor was packed all night and he really got people engaged and kept the party going. Several people commented how professional and fun he was. The small details really set them above the rest. We received a CD with all of our songs that we picked out, and our DJ’s tie and pocket square even matched our colors. They know what they are doing from start to finish. Our reception was the party it was because we booked Decorative Sound!

We literally cannot thank Michael with Decorative Sound enough! If there was one thing we did right with planning our own wedding it was booking this guy!! He did exactly everything he said he would - he kept the party on schedule, picked the best songs for the right times, and everyone had a blast. This guy's the real deal! BOOK HIM. Working with Decorative Sound was a great experience. Michael was helpful during the planning meetings and the DJ for our wedding, Joel, was great! He kept the flow of the reception moving and was very friendly and professional. I liked the added bonus of the CD containing all of our special songs throughout the night.

What can I say except WOW?! I found Decorative Sound via their amazing reviews on the knot, and I now know why. Michael, the owner, was so amazing and accommodating through the whole process. He responded to every question that I had with such care. He assigned a DJ to my wedding named Chuck, who I did not even meet with until the day of my wedding...but did NOT need to!! He went through the names of our line-up of 14 bridal party members, flower girl & ring bearer prior to our introductions and NAILED every difficult name (thanks to notes from Michael, I'm sure :)). As far as the music goes, everything was perfect. My ceremony music was classic and timeless, just what we had requested. Throughout cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, everything was exactly as my husband and I wanted. Chuck took requests from us (and some family members) and would play them almost immediately. Decorative Sound was the PERFECT DJ for my event, and I am so thankful for the amazing job they did! :)

Mike from Decorative Sound was amazing! My husband and I were nervous abut selecting a DJ since it can really make or break the night. We were not disappointed at all - Mike delivered a fun and exciting evening! He considered our music taste with balancing what the crowd wanted. He was polite and professional. And it was great since he was always waiting with our favorite cocktails for us! I would highly recommend Decorative Sound to anyone!
