Deer Ridge Estate

When my husband and I first visited DRE, it didn’t take long for us to decide that was were we wanted to marry. The thing that sold us the most on DRE was just how much was included with the venue- multiple ceremony sites along with a reception location, plates, cutlery, decor items, tables, chairs, on-site bedrooms, other rentable properties for guests, and so much more. We loved that we got to spend the day and night all in the same place. Hanging out with some of our friends/family on the balcony after the wedding ended was yet another one of my favorite parts of the day! For extra costs, DRE also offer beverage packages, a photo booth, and a “clean-up crew”. We took advantage of all three of these things, and don’t regret it! The second thing that sold us on DRE was the people who run it. From the moment we met Mark, Laura, and Becky, we could tell just how genuine and personable they were. During all of our meetings, it didn’t feel like they were there to do business. They have such friendly, welcoming demeanors. Overall, while they have some basic requirements, they didn’t set strict rules like some other venues do (for example, they have an open catering policy). Becky was always available to answer my questions throughout our 2-year long engagement, and even went above and beyond to set all of the tables and linens for our coordinator the day of the wedding. The last thing that sold us about DRE was just how beautiful and peaceful it is. We both felt so comfortable there, like a home away from home. I’m so glad we chose DRE as our wedding venue. We highly recommend it to anybody looking for a unique, all-inclusive venue in the KC metro.

We knew the second we walked into deer ridge that it was the place we were going to get married. Becky and everyone on staff was so amazing and supportive during our wedding planning process! We truly could not ask for a better venue.

I couldn't of asked for a more beautiful wedding venue to have our special day at. Becky and Laura were absolutely amazing to have as our wedding coordinator and officiant. Without them or day would not have gone smoothly. We got so many compliments from all our guests how beautiful our ceremony was and how amazing the venue was. If your looking for a place to have your wedding or an event you have found the place hands down without question. Deer Ridge Estate will always hold a special place in our hearts💕

We absolutely loved having our wedding here! DRE was the first venue we toured and we were speechless as soon as we walked in! It was everything we had hoped for and wanted in a wedding venue! One of our favorite parts about DRE was how accommodating and spacious it is so that we got to spend the ENTIRE weekend with all our friends and family staying on site so that the celebration gets to last even longer than just one day! Becky was phenomenal as our day of coordinator as well and made the whole process so smooth and easy! Could not recommend this place enough!!! We also used a lot of their preferred/recommended vendors and loved all of them!

We had a great time at this venue. The staff was so accommodating and willing to work with us to make our wedding day perfect. My family had a blast hanging out with Laura, Becky, and Mark while they stayed on the property! A lot of memories were made this weekend, and not one single bad one! :)

The venue is beautiful! If all you are looking for is the look Deer Ridge has it! Now let's get real. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago. I've thought for a bit on how and what I wanted to say for a review. Well here it is. We've had this venue booked since fall of 2019. The morning of our wedding we arrive to an empty venue. Not a single soul working for the venue. Mind you its 10:40 AM. No problem. We start bringing in our stuff and setting things up. One of the Bridemaid's turns on a steamer in the bridal suite. It sets off fire alarm. Now we have a fire alarm going off No staff. 10 minutes pass, hmmmm, fire alarm still going off, NO STAFF! I call Becky. Thank God for Becky! Becky talks me though not disarming the alarm but shutting the screaming part of it off over the phone. Solid! Golden! We are good to go! We notice the wrong number of tables and chairs are out. No worries. We locate them and set them up. Now I'm a pretty organized, planning ahead kind of person that asks a million questions in advance. I may have mixed up a few verbal agreements over the last 2.5 years but, I'm pretty on it. While setting up Mark the owner starts coming in and out of the building about 12:30. I could have swear when i signed contract we were told kegs would be tapped when had access to the venue for the bridal party. I may be wrong but I'm just ready to wipe my hands at this point. We'll I've paid $2700.00 for drinks. I politely bring it up to Mark.... he point blank laughs in my face and pretty much tells me I'm ignorant after telling me he's verified with Laura and Becky both that no one there would ever say that.. Rude, to put it kindly. Yet again wipe my hands. Now we have provided the fixings for a signature drink. We created the mixture ratios and pass it on to the bar tender that is serving it. ( we paid to have 2 bars operating and only had 1). Now 1 bottle to 1 jug is pretty simple. somehow we are missing 2 bottles of a hard to find liquor that we provided, and our ratios of jugs to bottles is off after the wedding. Yet again, wiping hands. If there is a problem or something that needs to be discussed, do not bother any guest or really anyone else other than the 2 people that the contract is signed with. Especially during my reception. Now we have the venue and hired bar tenders to be there until 11. I get it I look tired because I am. I'm ready for bed. But guess what I've paid several thousands of dollars for this place. Don't do last call at 9:30 and push my guest out at 10 pm. 2700$ in drinks for 200 guest for not even 5 hours. Wipe, wipe wipe.... Now on to the suites. Dirty. Heaven forbid you drop an earing back and see under the couches.... bathroom floors and shower drains have hair all over. Bridal suite shower has all kinds of issues and the first person to use is it floods the bridal suite. Oh and the shabby dead or empty pots at the grand enterance... I'm talking water flowing like a river, out from under tub. Now, to some positive. The place is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and Becky is their saving grace.

Hands down the absolute best wedding venue out there! Not only is it gorgeous, it is made perfectly for weddings. Everything there is perfect, from the bartenders, to the setup, to the brides and grooms suite, to the staff that works there. We hardly had to decorate because the venue has such natural beauty. The manager, Becky, attended to our every need and helped the night run so smooth. We received endless compliments on the venue!

Three years ago when my husband and I first started dating I went to Deer Ridge Estate and fell in love!!! From that day on I knew we would get married there! Becky is the best! She will work with you to make your dreams come true! I could not have asked for a better venue and venue team to help day of. Everything ran so smoothly!!! and if it didnt I had no idea which was even better!!!

Having my wedding at Deer Ridge Estate was nothing but perfect. Although the venue is absolutely beautiful, what made it even better was having Becky as my day-of coordinator. She was the one who made sure everything happened accordingly. When there was a misshapen with the linens, she immediately took care of it. She was calm and joyful the entire time of my wedding and always reminded me to focus on marrying the love of my life. That is care you cannot pay for. She is very flexible and truly cares to make sure your wedding is perfect. The perfect venue with the perfect day-of coordinator. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Becky and the entire team at Deer Ridge Estate is amazing! First off the venue is gorgeous and provided a great space for getting ready, pictures, ceremony, and reception. And the team there just makes your whole day so wonderful. From the planning process to day of, Becky made sure every detail was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to get married.

One more time for the people in the back... Deer Ridge Estates is the BEST venue!! Becky is a life saver, (highly recommend hiring her as your planner/ coordinator as well), the on-site suites are a game changer, and the team there is flexible, accomodating, and a dream to work with. Oh, and the property (not just venue) is absolutely beautiful. When we booked DRE, we didn't realize that much would matter in venue selection besides the look/price, but you realize all the little things that add up or pop up as you get closer to the big day and especially on your wedding day. And every time something popped up, because we were working with DRE and Becky, the solution was easy and they took care of it with a smile. You can tell the goal is to make your day perfect and stress free. Mark (owner) added an extra beer option for us with just 24hrs notice when we mentioned that we had selected the wrong one... no extra charge, no "that's not our problem", just a smile and "we'll get that fixed no problem". And after the reception finished, Laura (owner) threw in some pizza rolls for my bridesmaids who were staying the night , just as a nice treat. Those are just two examples of they type of people you get to work with and the service they provide at DRE. If you were on the fence about which vendor to select, this is your sign! :)

Deer Ridge Estate was a dream! We toured the venue and met the owners and event managers and we just knew that we wanted to get married there. The top things we were looking for was a dog friendly venue and the ability to book the entire weekend. Deer Ridge Estate has it all! And their farmhouse on top of the hill is absolutely adorable! They really helped make our wedding better than we could ever imagine!

If you are looking for the perfect "venue" (my wife and daughters tell me this what you call a "place" for a wedding/reception or any manner of large social gathering), take it from the "father of the bride" - you will find no venue better than Deer Ridge Estate. How do I know? My middle daughter (eldest twin) was married on July 26, 2020, at Deer Ridge Estate. Originally, that wedding was booked for April 26, 2020, but you know how that went when an uninvited guest named "COVID-19" sent its untimely RSVP. My daughter's fiance was already working in Hawaii when everything "shut down" there and here, so the logistics of rescheduling required a great deal of finesse. Enter the Deer Ridge Team. We could not have been happier with the entire experience, starting with the (literally) hands-on owners Laura and Mark. For example, they had creative solutions to ensure that everyone in attendance felt safe, given their varying degrees of "physical distancing" confidence. This included creating a tastefully cordoned off "mask only" area. Did it work? I am pleased to report that not one attendee fell ill or tested positive. And there were 180+ guests, from infants to seniors! I would be remiss if failed to include how Becky, the Executive Estate Manager, organized, supervised, and served right alongside the wait staff. Laura and Becky were onsite, front and center from setup through take down. The wait staff was impressive, too. They were local high school students who were uniformly dressed in black slacks and black Deer Creek Estates polo shirts. All were polite and professional. Finally, regarding the venue itself. The location is gorgeous and must be seen in person to fully appreciate it. The whole experience was simply amazing. Thank you, Deer Ridge Estates.

This venue and staff are absolutely amazing! The property is positively breathtaking, and their entire crew was awesome and a pleasure to work with! They truly do make sure that you are taken care of and that your big day is everything that you have dreamed of. Huge thank you to Becky, the owners, and all the staff for everything. You will not be disappointed if you choose this venue!

Wow wow wow!! There are not enough words to describe how amazing this venue and their staff are! They are worth every single penny and more! Becky puts you first and makes you feel like the most important client she has. She/Deer Ridge are flexible, accommodating, communicative, and go above and beyond to make your day as individualized and perfect as possible. This venue is beautiful and the land is breathtaking! There are so many options to make it exactly what you dreamed of. I would recommend this venue over and over and over! Wow! This venue is amazing! We rented it for the weekend and really got to spend time with the wedding party and family that all got to stay the weekend and be safe.....it really meant a lot and is time that we won’t forget ....it was priceless! Then on top of the wonderful facility ...,the staff is AMAZING! Becky and staff take care of everything to make it stress-free! You need to check out this place....they really know about customer service and the wedding experience....you can’t go wrong here!

If you have had a chance to look at pictures of Deer Ridge Estate, then you already know that the venue is GORGEOUS (and the pictures do not even do it justice)! However, if you are like us, you researched multiple venues…all of which we pretty and charming. What sets Deer Ridge Estate apart is the owners and the staff. Mark and Laura, the owners, made the venue for their daughter’s wedding so it truly is a labor of love. They also made recommendations and suggestions for various vendors to aid us in our search since we had no idea where to even begin. In addition, their Estate Manager and Coordinator Becky was such a blessing throughout the entire wedding planning process, especially with the added craziness of COVID. They kept abreast of the ever-changing situations and promptly let us know when mandates were such that we would have to reschedule our wedding. When this happened, Becky was quick to email us a list of available dates to reschedule. As we neared our new date, they continued to help us ensure our day was everything we had envisioned while still helping our guests feel comfortable and safe. Because the venue is so spacious, we were able to spread out tables to allow increased distancing. At Deer Ridge Estate, you also have the option to pay additional money to hire high school students in the area to help out in a variety of ways such as serve food and keep things clean which was such a blessing and well worth the extra cash in these crazy times. By working closely with Deer Ridge Estate, we were able to have as close as possible to the Pre-COVID wedding we had envisioned in the mid-COVID world. We are so grateful to have stumbled across Deer Ridge Estate as they treated us like family throughout the whole process. If you have merely glanced at Deer Ridge Estate in passing, we highly encourage you to take a closer look and then book them!

Deer Ridge Estate and everyone there is incredible. Mark, Laura, and Becky are some of the nicest, relaxed, and flexible people you will meet. They truly made our day special and we knew we picked the right venue from the first time we visited! The grounds and building are AMAZING. Our wedding was on 8/2/2020, in the middle of summer, but it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking. The entire building is absolutely perfect! The bridal and groom suites are the perfect places to get ready. We felt right at home there. Our wedding was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, so our plans were drastically altered once we had to change our date. But Mark, Laura, and Becky were all so flexible and understanding and we were so grateful to have them help us through the entire process. If you are looking for the perfect country venue, look no further. I cannot say enough good things about Deer Ridge! Thank you all so much for making our wedding day perfect!

This was the first place that we visited with my daughter & her fiancé and I felt they need not visit any others on their lists. They visited them and came to same the conclusion, this was the best of them all. The setups and ease at which Mark & Laura are willing to work with you is refreshing. Full kitchen, walk in freezer, tons of room for dancing and 4 plus bedrooms on site. Fully professional bar, just a wonderful place. Check out Deere Ridge, u will not be disappointed!!

The process of looking for a venue came to a complete stop once we toured Deer Ridge. We had our wedding on October 26, 2019 and it couldn't of been more perfect!! Mark and Laura are absolutely amazing in every aspect. Their assistant Carlos is at your side to help with anything that he can. The bartender Alfredo is awesome all night as well! I would refer any of my friends to give Deer Ridge a serious consideration for their big day.

Deer Ridge Estate is hands down the best venue you could choose for your event! We looked at about 8 other venues before finding it and none of them even compared. My husband and I got married here on October 26th, 2019 and it was an absolute dream! We purchased The Perfect Weekend package and enjoyed all the venue had to offer. Thanks to Mark and Carlos, their handyman/groundskeeper, we had all of our tables set up and our décor out by 11:00am Friday morning. We had our rehearsal there at the venue Friday evening and our entire bridal party was able to stay in the Groom and Bride suites that night! Saturday was the most perfect day!! The weather was amazing, the venue looked gorgeous, and Laura and Mark helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Their flexibility with the kitchen and caterers allowed us to save money by purchasing the food ourselves and having family & friends prepare and serve it. Laura helped out the bartender when the bar was busy. They both were there throughout the entire process but never "overstepped" or "got in the way". Their only intention was to help make sure everything was perfect. We even had one guest that stayed later into the evening and wasn't able to get a ride home and Laura ended up giving him a ride in order to make sure he was safe!!! They were there any time we had a question or had forgotten something at home that we needed. The bartender, Alfredo was SO fun and we received multiple compliments on him that evening and since. Our photographer and videographer raved about the venue and the different spaces available for photo and video opportunities. I mean, seriously the venue and the land surrounding it is absolutely GORGEOUS!! Laura and Mark are constantly improving the venue. Its changed so much, in the best ways, from when we originally toured it and our wedding! We had about 300 people attend our wedding, we were prepared for 350, and there was still plenty of unused space inside the venue. We have received SO MANY compliments from our guests on the venue, the bartenders, the owners and everything in between. There is no where else I would have rather celebrated our day!! Thank you, Deer Ridge Estate for making our wedding day dreams come true! I will absolutely be sharing your venue with everyone I know that is looking.

This venue is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. We received so many praises from our guests as to how beautiful and perfect this place was. And of course, Mark and Laura were THE BEST and easiest to work with. I would recommend Deer Ridge Estate to everyone!!

The venue is beautiful with an outdoor chapel, 4 luxury rooms in the venue, a dedicated dance floor, a stocked bar, a beautiful wrap around balcony, and a caterers kitchen. It is everything I wanted in a venue for a great price. Laura and Mark have been great to work with, always striving to make my visions into a reality!

We looked at a handful of other venues and chose Deer Ridge Estate because of Mark and Laura. BEST DECISION WE MADE! They are fantastic people who will go out of their way to accommodate you, and your guests. Staying at the estate was a dream come true. Their attention to detail and beauty of the venue have left our wedding guests (people from Denver and LA) raving about this venue! We have family asking to have a family reunion at the venue now! They turned a skeptical bride who was unsure if she wanted a big wedding, into a huge believer of weddings, especially those at the estate. We cannot thank them enough for helping us start this next chapter in our lives.

Mark and Laura and their team are absolutely amazing to work with. They made our day beautiful and amazing and 100 times less stressful than it could have been. The views all around the venue are beautiful, making it that much more special. We are very great full for the help and time put into our big day.

This place is magical! My husband and I recently were married here and we could not be more happy with the venue and the help of the owners. Bride, groom and few guests can even stay there overnight after their reception.

Deer Ridge was the perfect location for our wedding and reception. Laura went above and beyond both before and during the wedding to ensure we had the best day possible. Our wedding was in May, and we are still receiving compliments on how gorgeous and great the venue was. Highly recommend!

Deer Ridge Estate was a PERFECT venue for our wedding in May! The owners are WONDERFUL to work with. They responded to all of our questions right away and they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly! Long story short, we had to switch our wedding venue literally 26 days before the wedding. Deer Ridge Estate literally saved our wedding!! They accommodated all our ​last minute requests and were able to provide a sense of calm during the last minute change! We only wished we'd have known about this venue from the beginning! We would highly recommend this place to anyone in the Kansas City, Lawrence, or Topeka area. The venue itself has plenty of room and easily accommodated our wedding of ~275 people. The outdoor space is absolutely STUNNING and was perfect for taking pictures without having to go off-site! We selected the option to reserve the space for the whole weekend which made set-up and tear-down a breeze for everyone! There are 4 bedrooms with 2 additional "get ready" spaces that can be used as a sleeping space if needed, so there was even plenty of room for the bridal party to stay! They also have additional housing on the property to accommodate other guests overnight if needed. Overall this is a perfect venue for either an outdoor or indoor wedding ceremony. We HIGHLY recommend you get married or host your event here, they will not disappoint!!

I had the pleasure of DJing at Deer Ridge Estate for the first time on 4/13/19. From the second I arrived Laura and the team were great to work with. Not only is the space BEAUTIFUL, but everyone there helped make things run so smoothly. When the bride, groom and wedding party wanted to go later than planned, Laura without hesitation, let us go an extra 45 minutes. Can’t wait for my next wedding there!

This venue gorgeous! From the moment we walked in and met Mark and Laura we new Deer Ridge was the place for us! This venue is beautiful and was perfect for the rustic yet classy look we were going for! There was more than enough room for our 260+ guests, and the upstairs area was perfect to set up a few corn hole boards and for guests to hang out! The bartenders served up delicious drinks and were great throughout the whole event. My fiance and I had an amazing experience planning and hosting our wedding at Deer Ridge. We knew that Mark and Laura were going to help make our day amazing and they definitely delivered!! We had the perfect winter wedding!!

Love-Love-Love Deer Ridge Estate! Beautiful place and Mark and Laura are great to work with. Everything was awesome from decorating the day before to the reception to spending the night and the bride and groom opening gifts the next morning. All of our guests thought it was beautiful and fun and our vendors said they were great to work with. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our daughter and new son-in-law!

Mark and Laura were great hosts! They were quick to respond to any of our questions and let us use all of the amenities on the property (including the bus to travel to the church and back last minute). My husband and I would highly recommend Deer Ridge Estate for any event. The space is well kept, clean, and not to mention gorgeous!

Laura was incredible to work with! Perfect venue for our perfect day. So many options and flexibility, and we truly enjoyed having the full weekend experience. We weren't stressed at all and thoroughly enjoyed our Wedding weekend mini vacation at Deer Ridge.

I looked at so many venues and there was always something that just seemed off by them. Then we toured Deer Ridge and we walked out of our meeting with Laura and Mark thinking it had to be too good to be true. The owners are the nicest, most thoughtful, and genuine people ever which we did not see when meeting owners of other venues AT ALL. They genuinely want to make your day the most special day ever, they are not in it for the money. We had our rehearsal dinner there the day before as well and our caterer forgot salsa so Laura went to her own house and brought down salsa they had in their cabinet to use. The day of our ceremony and reception, they both were available the whole day if we needed anything. Laura sort of became my day of coordinator, I bet there were issues I didn't even know about because she just handled them for me. She was even steaming my head table tablecloths because she noticed they had gotten wrinkly. Now to the venue... it is to DIE for!! It's so unique, they have absolutely put their hearts in it! It's beautiful and so spacious, our 300 guests weren't cramped at all. Not only that but being able to sleep at the venue in their gorgeous rooms that are attached was a lifesaver!! The biggest compliments we got from our guests were how amazing the venue was and how amazing the owners were. We would 10000% recommend this venue to anyone for any occasion!!

My wedding is November 3rd and I couldn’t be more excited! Mark and Tracy have been so accommodating as we plan our wedding out of state. They are very easy to communicate with and really care about making our day special. The venue itself is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for! The open air chapel allows us to have the outdoor wedding like we wanted but still have a big enough space for all of our family and friends in the main reception hall. I absolutely recommend Deer Ridge Estate!

As the groom, I left most of the venue selection process to my fiancée and her family. The thing I was most focused on were the people. Mark and Laura were amazing from the first email, to the consultation, and throughout the entire planning process. They are genuine and incredibly approachable. It is apparent that they care about the big day as much as we do! I can't say enough good things about them. The venue is outstanding, with constant updates to make it even better. I highly recommended to anyone looking for a venue in the KC area!

We booked with Mark and Laura when the venue was in the beginning stages of construction. My wife and I both agreed that the professionalism and compassion they both showed us the very first visit made us very confident that this was the place for us to get married! I absolutely loved this venue from the moment I saw pictures. The first time we stepped foot in the venue we knew it was the perfect place. With all of the rooms to stay in within the venue plus the extra guest house and rooms made it perfect for our guests to stay and enjoy the evening! Laura and Mark the owners, were wonderful and helped out with everything the day of and leading up to, making sure everything went smoothly and it showed! I have recommended this venue to many people and will continue to do so! Absolutely breathtaking!

My daughter celebrated their big day in April 2018. I believe we were the first big event but you would not have known it. Mark and Laura are both wonderful to work with. They went above and beyond to make the day special. Even offered to have a signature drink for the bride! Offered to let us use a garder in the bridal suite when we couldn’t find the bride’s. Just one example of how much they care and go above expectations! Great venue and wonderful people!

I was one of the first weddings at Deer Ridge Estate and I cannot say enough good things about this wedding venue. When my husband and I met Laura and Mark for the first time and they told as about their vision, we knew it would be the perfect spot. We signed our contract with them during their building stages and they did not disappoint with their final product. We had 450 guests at our wedding and the venue held everyone without a problem. Laura and Mark did everything they could to make our day as perfect as they could. This couple not only are venue owner's but they are personal and truly care about your big day and want to make all your dreams come true. Our wedding day turned out perfect and our photos turned out stunning, there's not a bad place to take at photo at this venue. You won't be disappointed if you choose Deer Ridge Estate for your big day!

We our having our wedding here in November!! This venue is absolutely GORGEOUS and just what we had in mind when deciding where we were going to get married! I love that it is so close to home and easily accessible from anywhere in KC! Mark and Laura are AMAZING people to work with and have answered all of our questions and given us many great suggestions! They truly care about making our big day special! I toured over 20 venues and just didn't find the right fit. Then I toured with Laura at Deer Ridge estate and I not only fell in love with the space but Laura made my choice very easy! She made me feel comfortable and worked with me to make it affordable. She didn't try and nickel and dime us like a lot of the places I toured. I can't wait to have my wedding here next Spring!

This place is gorgeous! Pictures don't do it justice and the owners are fantastic to work with! They go above and beyond to make your day special! I can't wait to have my wedding there this fall!

I am having my wedding here on October 6th! This place is absolutely beautiful, everything I can dream of! The best part is they are still adding to it. I am looking forward to having my dream wedding here in the fall. The owners were so friendly, they had me leaving stress free. My fiancé and I are so excited!

Couldn't have asked for a better venue! It was a beautiful space indoor and out. We had planned an outdoor ceremony, but had rain and were able to quickly transition to a beautiful indoor ceremony-it was nice to have a backup in the same place! It was also spacious enough to have family/bridal party stay overnight in a space more comfortable/nicer than any hotel in the area. I would highly recommend to any bride wanting a outdoor/rustic/secluded wedding that is an easy drive from the city!
