Deer Run was a blast. The staff were amazing to work with, very knowledgeable, and took care of us from beginning to end. A great place for weddings or rehearsals and wine - what’s not to love!
Deer Run is without a doubt absolutely gorgeous to host a wedding at!! Everyone is so prompt and friendly to work with! 10 out of 10 starts!!
I can’t speak highly enough about Deer Run Winery and their event staff! Their team made our wedding vision come to life and made it easy for us to forget the planning on the day-of and completely enjoy the day. It felt like we were guests at our own celebration. The team was responsive, accommodating, and very kind, even when we had very specific ideas or concerns. They were helpful in providing itemized summaries of the cost of everything. The only area for improvement is that our contact person changed twice during planning but in the end, it takes a team to put on a successful event and they communicated with each other. Nothing slipped through the cracks.
Along with our florist, they took care of setting up all decor for the ceremony and reception and they communicated clearly with all of our vendors. The flexibility of getting to choose our own caterer helped tremendously with our budget and what kind of vibe we wanted. Deer Run Winery’s spaces are GORGEOUS. The pavilion lends itself to having an outdoor wedding without the worry of weather - the rain plan is built in. our wedding day truly was the best day of our lives! Thank you, Deer Run Winery!
Having our wedding reception at Deer Run was great. Marie, Grace and the rest of the team made the process less overwhelming and helped to keep my vision on track. They were so nice to work with and were appreciative for my attention to detail and next-level organization 🙈. They made themselves available regularly for in-person meetings and answered questions and emails quickly to make sure we were all on the same page. We were able to set up the pavilion the day before with everything except the guest tables and our family friend/wedding coordinator was able to finish the rest the morning of the wedding. Over all, a wonderful experience and we had the beautiful wedding reception of our dreams!
Where to even begin!! From the planning process to the day of, Grace, Michael and Abbey went above and beyond to make our day special! Little things that they thought of, and details that really went the extra mile. The venue was beautiful and I cannot recommend the Deer Run Team enough!! Special shout out to Grace who was an absolute PRO at her first wedding! We felt honored to have her!
The only reason I am not giving Deer Run Winery one star is because the venue is visually beautiful, had nice warmers for colder weddings, the flexibility with catering, and working with Austyn was great until the day of the wedding. I wanted food trucks and this venue was flexible with whichever catering you wanted and Austyn is the wedding planner that comes with the venue and was great to work with and making sure we had everything leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding it rained up until an hour of the ceremony. Since it stopped raining I asked for the wedding to be outside because it was my dream since I was young to be married outside and it was perfect timing for the rain to stop. Austyn told me “I had a wedding before and it down poured and all the guests wrote bad reviews” and kept trying to persuade me to have it in the pavilion. I was told her workers would not help move the decorations from the gazebo to the outdoor area so my guests had to move everything before the ceremony. I also asked for the sun shades to be put up since the day before she promised they would be up and I was told it would take hours so they weren't going to put them up. I was also told that I would not get the pricey ceremony space deposit back if we ended up not having the wedding outside so I don’t understand why it was so difficult to have it outside in their space if I already paid for it and was not going to get the money back. The ceremony was then rushed, I was rushed out of the bridal space by the workers who did not tell my photographer that we started so she missed the beginning shots of the wedding. And lastly, this venue threw away the paid property of my wedding cake and cupcakes. If they gave a simple phone call to us, someone would have come and gotten it that second since we paid a decent amount of money for the cake but it was all thrown away. I thought having my wedding here would be the wedding of my dreams by the way Austyn sold the venue but it was chaotic, stressful, and I lost the rest of my wedding cake. I don’t know if it was because my wedding was on a Sunday or because it rained but my thoughts were not being listened to. I see by the reviews I am in the minority but I clearly did not have the experiences others had at this venue. I would have regretted having the ceremony in the pavilion because it did not rain a single drop the whole ceremony and photo sessions outside :)
Deer Run Winery is beautiful. Austyn the event coordinator is great to work with, she really tries to do what you want and help make your day everything you imagined it would be. Definitely recommend
Austyn and Deer Run made our special day so perfect, we would have our wedding here again even if we could do it over again. Leading up to the wedding, Austyn was amazingly responsive, sometimes emailing or texting me back within 10 minutes. She answered all questions, helped us trouble shoot when needed, and made sure we felt prepared. When I dropped off our decor, she went through it all with me to make sure we were on the same page and I felt so confident in her expertise that I had zero stress in giving her full creative license if she thought something should move around. This was all before the day of the wedding but when our day came, Austyn proved over and over again that we were right in having our day at DR. Austyn kept us on time, helped receive arriving vendors, family, and guests, and truly set up the spaces so beautifully. This was despite a downpour that came in during our ceremony. She stayed outside in the rain with us and then helped golf cart as many guests as possible back to the reception space. While I was bummed that this rainstorm kept all the sides of the pavilion from being lifted, it didn't even matter. Our photos have still come out so beautifully and I didn't even notice until we got them back. Deer Run is gorgeous and the continuous improvements they are making makes me so happy for them and future brides (which, you're welcome for the covered ceremony space now, we like to think that is because of us lol). We fully plan to have a future anniversary party here but, until then, get married here!
In the midst of COVID, we had our wedding at Deer Run Winery last weekend and I honestly cannot express enough how great our experience has been from start to finish. Deer Run is such a beautiful place to have a wedding. I read a review prior to booking that called it “a hidden gem” and in my opinion, that comment is spot on. The vineyard was the perfect place to hold our ceremony. The scenery is beautiful, and the layout couldn’t have been more perfect. It was an intimate ceremony with only 50 people in attendance. As for the reception, Deer Run just recently built a pavilion, which was where our cocktail hour and reception were held. I could not be more impressed with how it turned out. Not only is it spacious, but the bistro lighting and stone fireplace were great features that added to the beauty of it.
As for the staff - Marie and Scott were nothing shy of patient, fun, communicative, collaborative and flexible with us throughout the entire process. COVID forced several changes, but Marie was always communicating with us to see how we could adjust to the new regulations as they were mandated. Marie was on point with every little detail of the wedding - she helped with day of setup, communicated with our vendors, coordinated the ceremony behind the scenes, and was honestly such a joy to work with overall. She was professional and fun, and I am SO grateful that I got to work with her. She made wedding planning during COVID a lot less stressful that it could have been.
We also got to work with Beki, who was our bartender for the night. She was an absolute delight to work with and was extremely helpful throughout the entire wedding day/night. She stayed after the reception to help us clean, and even went to the winery early the next morning to open up so we could finish cleaning/packing which was very generous of her. Beki - you are awesome! Thank you!
If you are looking to host a wedding or event at Deer Run Winery, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The venue and staff will not disappoint.
The one thing that my husband and I love is visiting wineries, This was the closest to us and we visited often for their Summer Events. When the time came to pick a place, this not only more than satisfied what we need and could afford, but the service that Marie and her team provide is above and beyond what any other place would provide. The amount of compliments that I have received for the venue are innumerable. I wanted something intimate and special, and this winery helped satisfy this beyond words. Thank you for everything that you did for us.
Deer Run Winery was wonderful. We had a small issue with a miscommunication on alcohol service but it was worked out well before the big day. Their grounds are lovely and a perfect landscape to make it your own. They offer an air conditioned event room for the day of and the day before the wedding- it was a godsend! They handled all the trash and were very accommodating. They even improved the grounds shortly before the wedding by adding parking and putting down a tent pad on the lawn. It helped us avoid soggy ground but I would recommend turf, carpeting or tent flooring to put over it. It created a lot of dirt, but we got some cheap turf and it wasn't a big deal.
Marie's attention to detail, help and attentive manner made what could have been a very stressful weekend more peaceful. The use of the large private room for the weekend was awesome... We had our rehearsal there, staged and prepped, and as the bride had a few minutes to myself to gather thoughts. One of the best parts was going up in the golf cart. They are like family, hold your arm, tuck your train up and make sure you're good to go. We didn't just get a venue, we had an experience and the wine is fantastic as well!
