Jyl from Deering Events was a dream to work with and our wedding day would’ve of been possible without her! From the very beginning Jyl was attentive, helpful, and reliable. I hire...
d Jyl for her day of wedding coordination services and she exceed my expectations. From multiple phone calls, to in person meetings, and even coming to our wedding tasting with us in MV there wasn’t one step of the wedding process that she was not involved in. She made my dream wedding come to life and it is something that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Jyl & Deering Events!!!
Where to even start in describing how much we love Jyl and how highly we would recommend her to any couple?! We hired Jyl for day of coordination services, and at every step of the...
way she blew every expectation we had completely out of the water. She was extremely responsive to every email and was proactive about checking in with us throughout the process to ensure we were on track with booking other vendors and other planning decisions. She handled coordinating all of our rentals and timeline details with our other vendors with complete professionalism and attention to detail. But her biggest value and support for us came when the forecast began to show a Nor’Easter hitting right during our wedding. Frankly our worst nightmare…but Jyl went completely above and beyond for us, helping to secure a backup generator for our venue, coordinating additional draping and decor for the indoor space, and overall just being such a calm and present voice to us as we navigated a lot of uncertainty about our event. She was empathetic, solution-oriented, reassuring, and calm…everything and more we needed that week! On the day, she again went above and beyond, she and her team taking on additional tasks because of the weather, such as breaking down draping, delivering flowers to the groomsmen, and even learning how to use the generator! We’re sure there’s so much more she did behind the scenes than we’ll ever even know. Somehow she still found some time to sit with me while I got my hair done to ensure I was feeling good and relaxed. In large part because of Jyl and her team, our Nor’Easter wedding turned out beautifully. We couldn’t be more grateful and we’ll miss her now that we’re not planning a wedding anymore!

rwhelmed and was recommended to Deering Events. From the start, Jyl was on it with communication and immediately sprung into action and worked me into her very busy schedule. I couldn't be more grateful for her help. As soon as I got on the phone with Jyl she was calm and kind and immediately settled my nerves. She asks all of the right questions to get you organized well in advance of your big day, and created a timeline alongside my photographer so once the day came I could sit back and fully enjoy. On wedding day she was on it making sure myself and bridal party felt supported, and more importantly that we were enjoying ourselves! She had my decor set up perfectly, ensure I ate, and truly took care of everything in between that I wouldn't have thought of. My only regret is that I didn't hire her earlier on in the process! Thank you Jyl!!
I booked Jyl for her day-of planning services, and she was absolutely amazing to work with. I would recommend her to anyone!

le for any questions I had, and played such a huge role in making our wedding day come together seamlessly. What stood out most to me was her genuine care for us and for our wedding. It never felt like just another job to her — she truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us.
She went out of her way for us in so many ways, from going through all of our décor together and assisting with linen pickup and drop-off, to completely pivoting and adapting our plans when a crazy storm blew through on our wedding day. She handled everything calmly and seamlessly, which allowed us to actually enjoy the day without worrying about all of the moving pieces behind the scenes.

What makes a great planner is someone who not only manages the details, but truly understands your vision and knows how to bring it to life seamlessly. Jyl did exactly that—honestly, better than we ever imagined. People always say to let go of the idea of a “perfect” wedding day, but ours genuinely felt more than perfect, and that’s largely thanks to her.
She’s incredibly kind, warm, and easy to work with, and her passion shines through in everything she does. We felt completely at ease trusting her every step of the way. Jyl just gets it, and we’re so grateful for her. If we could give her 1000 stars, we would.

nt, but I decided I wanted to bring in a day of coordinator just for a little extra support with some challenging family dynamics and it was so worth it. Having someone who can just seamlessly handle all the decor and timeline was great, but just having the piece of mind that someone else was keeping the day running was so worth it.

ake Sarah’s day so special. Our guests have claimed that it was the most perfect wedding they attended, every detail so elegantly defined and captured to make the day so special. Those details were coordinated by Jyl and her team. Jyl’s calm demeanor helped all of us get through this fantastic and crazy day. I simply don’t know what we would have done without her- I am starting to believe that Jyl even controlled the unbelievable weather. We can’t thank Jyl and the Deering Events team enough!

completely saved us when our original venue was compromised 3 weeks before our wedding day. She is organized, always thinking ahead, on top of it, very communicative and responsive, and goes above and beyond for her clients. She is well-connected within the Cape wedding community, which came to be very helpful as well. She was recommended to us through other vendors and they also had nothing but great things to say of her and her work. Truthfully, I wish we had used her services for full wedding planning had we known what was to come.
Highly recommend!!!

Getting married in my Grandmother’s backyard had always been a dream, but it came with its fair share of logistical challenges. Jyl and her team were the reason that dream became a reality. From sourcing vendors and keeping us on track throughout the planning process to managing the intricacies of a tricky setup and many DIY decor items and answering countless one-off questions, she handled it all with ease and grace. After more than a year of planning, I felt completely at peace knowing the weekend was in her capable hands.
Beyond her incredible organizational skills, Jyl and her team brought such warmth, kindness, and calm to every interaction. Because of their support, we were able to be fully present with our family and friends on the big day. They are truly invested in your relationship and it shows!
Jyl and her team were able to bring our vision to life and make our wedding weekend so special. It was truly unforgettable.

Having Jyl and her team as part of our wedding allowed me and my family to have a stress-free wedding day from beginning to end. I would recommend Jyl to any bride planning a wedding!

s — and when our wedding day arrived and the heavens decided to open up and pour all day long, Jyl did not miss a beat. She had to do a lot of shifting around because our cocktail hour was supposed to be outside, once she was done, you wouldn’t even know the plan had changed! Even though it was pouring, I was calm all day knowing she had it all under control.
Everything ran seamlessly, beautifully, and on time — all thanks to Jyl’s organization, creative problem-solving, and positive attitude. If there were any snags, I didn’t know it! Jyl handled every detail behind the scenes so we could fully enjoy our day without a single worry.
We truly can’t thank Jyl enough for turning what could have been a soaking wet mess into something truly magical. I would not have gotten through the day if it was not for her! If you're looking for someone who can handle anything thrown at them while remaining steady and calm, Jyl is your girl. We are forever grateful!

ways being promptly responsive to my one-off random email questions. As the wedding got closer, it became clear that she was doing way more than what you might perceive at surface level - from connecting with our vendors in the background for the most thorough day-of timeline, to confirming meal restrictions for vendor meals without even being asked. Being super type A and DIYing a lot of our wedding day, I wasn't sure if a coordinator was a necessity, especially with an event coordinator at Wychmere. I can honestly say I would book Jyl 1000 times over - she was the perfect amount of hands on and made sure we didn't worry about at single thing on the day of the wedding. She and her team were absolutely worth every penny and we're so grateful to have had her on our team!!

She was, quite simply, AMAZING. From our very first meeting, she went above and beyond in every possible way. She wasn't just organized and efficient; she was supportive, responsive, and anticipated needs we didn't even know we had. She handled every detail, big and small, making the planning process much easier on us.
Our wedding truly wouldn't have been what it was if it weren't for her. She brought our vision to life in a way we couldn't have imagined, and navigated any last-minute challenges seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the joy of our special day. Specifically, there was miscommunication between us and our florist, and the day of the wedding we realized we had no bridesmaid bouquets. Obviously I was panicking at that point, but Jyl told me not to worry at all and she would take care of it. Within an hour she had 7 beautiful bridesmaid bouquets ready to go. Still not sure how she did it, but that was just one of the many ways she saved the day.
We are so incredibly grateful for everything she did and highly recommend anyone to hire Jyl!!!! You will not regret it.

dding, Jyl was instrumental in helping us find and vet vendors (which was a huge help given how many questionable vendors there are out there). She was particularly helpful in recommending to us a videographer who offered half-day packages which was perfect for our wedding needs!
As the wedding got closer, she was great with keeping us on track and organized. It was easy to relax knowing she had all the information needed to make the day go well. She also helped us deal with last-minute issues with one vendor and was huge in setting up our decor and getting everything back in one piece the day of. Hiring Jyl helped us not only create a beautiful event, but made it so we could actually enjoy it without worrying. She is worth every penny!

Jyl will go above and beyond to ensure you have the most smooth and perfect wedding and I cannot recommend her enough! icated with us for the months leading up to the wedding, making sure we were on top of everything, and checking off our to-do lists in a timely fashion so we wouldn't be stressed. Then when the wedding weekend came, Jyl honestly did it all. My husband and I weeks later are still marveling at how she could have possibly been so many places at once, and gotten so many tasks done, while still nailing every detail. I wholeheartedly recommend Jyl to anyone getting married. You will be in great hands, and you can enjoy your special day knowing that it will run smoothly with her in charge.

zed hiring a wedding coordinator, but after going through the whole process, I truly can't imagine what I would of done without having her. If I would have 1 piece of advice for someone planning a wedding, don't think 2x about hiring a wedding coordinator (ESPECIALLY JYL), it was SO worth it.
Jyl took all the stress out of the day and helped piece all the final details between all our vendors together to ensure the day went as smooth as possible. It was so extremely helpful to have her on calls leading up to the big day, especially as she would add in little checks to make sure things that I wouldn't even think about were accounted for. Also she was always open to being flexible to hop on any call last minute to help support me in the planning process - Jyl truly went above and beyond with everything she did. My husband & I got married at Wychmere, and while we had an amazing wedding coordinator there, it was super helpful to have her expertise of the cape and an extra pair of hands to make sure everything and everyone was where theyre supposed to be throughout the entire day. She was always calm cool and collected, which is exactly what I hoped for on something that can be as stressful as a wedding!

o life perfectly. She responded to my emails quickly and answered all of my many questions, and although I had only the day/month-of coordination package, I felt just as important and prioritized as any full-service client. We DIY’d everything for our wedding and handed Jyl a binder full of notes and photos — she executed it all beyond our wildest expectations! Walking into our wedding day, we were completely blown away and couldn’t have been happier. Jyl planned every detail down to the minute, ensuring everything ran smoothly. If there were any hiccups, we never knew about them. The day was flawless and unforgettable, and having Jyl take care of the details allowed us to relax and truly enjoy every moment.
Every vendor was thrilled to hear we were working with Jyl. We couldn’t have made a better choice! Our only regret is not hiring her for full-service planning. Jyl was the BEST wedding investment we made.
Without Jyl I do not think my wedding would have even functioned right. When the venue coordinator spells your name wrong on the contract and every document after that, it’s the ri...
ght decision to find someone that is in your corner, there for you and thinking like you. Jyl is and was all of that for us. From the first meeting where she joined us at the venue, I just knew Jyl was the right fit for us. Her calm and levelheaded demeanor is the constant reassurance that any stressed couple needs. Jyl responded to my one line questions, paragraphs, peppered thoughts etc via email (easiest for me during work hours) within minutes every single time. She communicated with me where it was most convenient for me, wherever that was and promptly. My venue coordinator still hasn’t answered an email and my wedding is over, this is where you will find the best decision you can make is hiring Jyl. Every other vendor lit up when I told them I was working with Jyl, her reputation on Cape with other business owners is top notch I loved that! I don’t think one truly understands the impact of a wedding planner and coordinator on your side in every moment of the planning and day of. I wasn’t anxious one bit and not worried at all that things would come together. It is so so easy to trust Jyl with everything. I handed over my fears and worries and never thought about them again. It was the most relaxed version of myself, someone who naturally will take the lead, to have no need or desire to do anything but live in the moment. Hire Jyl, I would do it again 10x over I will always feel in-debt to her for bringing our vision to live in more ways than anyone can see on the outside!

She got our vision, steered us so well, and allowed us to take our hands off the wheel and just enjoy when it came time for the wedding day. At every stage, she went above and beyond - in caring for us, our families, and our guests. Jyl has a real gift for this, and we feel so incredibly grateful that we were able to work with her for our wedding!
Jyl was amazing - truly went above and beyond! She took all of the stress out of both our welcome event and our wedding.

months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding. She has a deep knowledge of Cape Cod-specific vendors, which was super helpful for us (even giving advice on last-minute hair salons for some guests). She also was very detailed in her planning, making a great schedule for us day-of, and reminded us of things we hadn't thought of for planning.
Whenever we had any questions, she was always quick to answer via email.
On the day of the wedding, she was amazing. Our ceremony was outdoors, and there was a chance of rain, but she was in touch all morning and on-site for setup and gave us good advice for planning purposes. Leading up to the event she coordinated all the vendors, led the setup of all our decor and ceremony seating. And during the wedding, she kept us on track to make sure we did everything. And last but certainly not least, she coordinated all the cleanup and made sure that we had all of our possessions/ decor/ etc. This is something that was invaluable, as it meant we didn't have to worry about anything during the wedding :)
Thank you, Jyl! We couldn't have had our wedding without you!
Jyl is amazing! She was extremely helpful throughout the planning process and day of the event made sure everything went off without a hitch. I could not recommend her more highly.
