Jyl was an absolute godsend on our wedding day, and I can't recommend her services highly enough. When heavy rain disrupted some of our plans, she seamlessly adapted, orchestrating every change with calmness and grace. Thanks to her expertise, I, as the bride, along with our entire wedding party, enjoyed the day without a single worry. Her ability to handle unexpected challenges ensured everything flowed perfectly, and we were able to fully cherish every moment. Whenever I am asked any wedding planning advice, I will forever recommend a wedding coordinator and specifically Jyl Deering!

Jyl was AMAZING!!! I HIGHLY recommend hiring Jyl as your wedding coordinator if you want your day to go as smooth as possible! In the beginning of my wedding planning, I deprioritized hiring a wedding coordinator, but after going through the whole process, I truly can't imagine what I would of done without having her. If I would have 1 piece of advice for someone planning a wedding, don't think 2x about hiring a wedding coordinator (ESPECIALLY JYL), it was SO worth it. Jyl took all the stress out of the day and helped piece all the final details between all our vendors together to ensure the day went as smooth as possible. It was so extremely helpful to have her on calls leading up to the big day, especially as she would add in little checks to make sure things that I wouldn't even think about were accounted for. Also she was always open to being flexible to hop on any call last minute to help support me in the planning process - Jyl truly went above and beyond with everything she did. My husband & I got married at Wychmere, and while we had an amazing wedding coordinator there, it was super helpful to have her expertise of the cape and an extra pair of hands to make sure everything and everyone was where theyre supposed to be throughout the entire day. She was always calm cool and collected, which is exactly what I hoped for on something that can be as stressful as a wedding!

From our very first email and call, Jyl was absolutely fantastic. She is thoughtful, detail-oriented, kind, and a great listener. Open-minded and creative, she brought our vision to life perfectly. She responded to my emails quickly and answered all of my many questions, and although I had only the day/month-of coordination package, I felt just as important and prioritized as any full-service client. We DIY’d everything for our wedding and handed Jyl a binder full of notes and photos — she executed it all beyond our wildest expectations! Walking into our wedding day, we were completely blown away and couldn’t have been happier. Jyl planned every detail down to the minute, ensuring everything ran smoothly. If there were any hiccups, we never knew about them. The day was flawless and unforgettable, and having Jyl take care of the details allowed us to relax and truly enjoy every moment. Every vendor was thrilled to hear we were working with Jyl. We couldn’t have made a better choice! Our only regret is not hiring her for full-service planning. Jyl was the BEST wedding investment we made.

Without Jyl I do not think my wedding would have even functioned right. When the venue coordinator spells your name wrong on the contract and every document after that, it’s the right decision to find someone that is in your corner, there for you and thinking like you. Jyl is and was all of that for us. From the first meeting where she joined us at the venue, I just knew Jyl was the right fit for us. Her calm and levelheaded demeanor is the constant reassurance that any stressed couple needs. Jyl responded to my one line questions, paragraphs, peppered thoughts etc via email (easiest for me during work hours) within minutes every single time. She communicated with me where it was most convenient for me, wherever that was and promptly. My venue coordinator still hasn’t answered an email and my wedding is over, this is where you will find the best decision you can make is hiring Jyl. Every other vendor lit up when I told them I was working with Jyl, her reputation on Cape with other business owners is top notch I loved that! I don’t think one truly understands the impact of a wedding planner and coordinator on your side in every moment of the planning and day of. I wasn’t anxious one bit and not worried at all that things would come together. It is so so easy to trust Jyl with everything. I handed over my fears and worries and never thought about them again. It was the most relaxed version of myself, someone who naturally will take the lead, to have no need or desire to do anything but live in the moment. Hire Jyl, I would do it again 10x over I will always feel in-debt to her for bringing our vision to live in more ways than anyone can see on the outside!

Jyl was great throughout the entire process. We hired for just day-of coordination and she was helpful in answering questions here and there months before the wedding. Leading up to the wedding, Jyl helped keep us on track and provided reminders as to what we needed to tackle before the wedding day, as well as reviewed our rental orders for any key items that could be missing. During the day, we had the utmost trust with Jyl. Our day came together exactly as planned, and a big part of that was trusting Jyl to bring our vision to fruition. We were able to completely enjoy the day because Jyl and her team were able to handle everything. She is a must-have!

Simply put, Jyl & Breanna were exceptional; I can not imagine having planned our wedding without them. They took care of everything from picking up linens and coordinating deliveries to loading our vehicle at the end of the night. In addition to providing the highest level of service, they both acted as calming presences during unforeseen moments of anxiety. I can not recommend them enough, and only wish we had utilized more of their available services!

We worked with Jyl as our day-of coordinator for our wedding in June 2024, and have nothing but positive things to say about her! Jyl was so knowledgeable, and responsive in the months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding. She has a deep knowledge of Cape Cod-specific vendors, which was super helpful for us (even giving advice on last-minute hair salons for some guests). She also was very detailed in her planning, making a great schedule for us day-of, and reminded us of things we hadn't thought of for planning. Whenever we had any questions, she was always quick to answer via email. On the day of the wedding, she was amazing. Our ceremony was outdoors, and there was a chance of rain, but she was in touch all morning and on-site for setup and gave us good advice for planning purposes. Leading up to the event she coordinated all the vendors, led the setup of all our decor and ceremony seating. And during the wedding, she kept us on track to make sure we did everything. And last but certainly not least, she coordinated all the cleanup and made sure that we had all of our possessions/ decor/ etc. This is something that was invaluable, as it meant we didn't have to worry about anything during the wedding :) Thank you, Jyl! Jyl was an exceptional and critical part of our wedding weekend, and we feel SO lucky to have gotten to work with her. Jyl was our day-of coordinator, but was always available for any questions/concerns we had over the year leading up to our wedding. Jyl was above and beyond fantastic. My daughter and I hired Jyl early on in our year-long planning for my daughter's Cape Cod wedding, and Jyl did not disappoint. Always incredibly professional, responsive, thorough, thoughtful and helpful, I truly do not know how I could have possibly pulled off the beautiful day without her. I am so thankful I didn't have to! We hired Jyl for her full package, and she attended vendor meetings with us to help choose tables, linens, china, glassware; she had valuable suggestions for tents, lighting, flowers, food, planning time, photographers--everything and anything that we needed. She was always available by email, phone or in person at our request. The day of the wedding, we had to move the ceremony inside from a planned beach ceremony due to heavy rain, and she was nothing but calm and energized and positive. If there were any glitches, I did not know about it--because Jyl handled it all with aplomb and class. 10/10 for sure.

We could not have asked for a better planner than Jyl. Beyond being such a kind person, she made us feel at ease throughout the months leading up to and on our wedding day. She kept all the details organized and was extremely responsive to every email. It was wonderful and helpful having her take the reigns in connecting with our other vendors and keeping us on a perfect schedule the day of the wedding, so we had time to really enjoy ourselves. With a lot of moving parts, we always felt that we were in good hands with her and the team. One of my favorite aspects of having Jyl onboard was being able to take all of our decor (signage, polaroids, matchboxes, etc.) and having it perfectly set up without any direction at the venue. She really went above and beyond to make the atmosphere inviting and memorable for our guests. We couldn't recommend her more for your wedding - you will be in the best hands!

Jyl was absolutely instrumental in pulling off our wedding smoothly. From the moment we hired her, Jyl went above and beyond with sage advice, coordinating with the venue, quick responses, and helping us figure out what we needed to still do and when. When it came to two months before our wedding, Jyl was indispensable, coordinating between vendors and putting together a timeline that factored in so many moving parts with ease. By the time it came to our wedding day, it was clear from chatting with other vendors that Jyl had put in work that we weren’t even aware of, making our lives easier without us even knowing or asking for recognition. And on the wedding day, she kept us on schedule, was there every step of the way, and managed to anticipate hiccups before they even happened. No small blip was not swiftly remedied - one too few bridesmaids bouquets, a button falling off the groom’s tux, a small stain on the bride’s dress, family portraits that felt overwhelming at times, or a bride’s headache. We still remark to ourselves that we are in shock at how smoothly things ran, and are still waiting for something wedding-related to go wrong, because nothing really did. And that’s the magic of hiring Jyl — she will make sure that’s the case for you, and if something does come up, she’s the best person to rise to the challenge of fixing it. If I could go back and change one thing about my wedding, it would be hiring Jyl for the full planning services instead of day of/month of. Jyl was an absolute life saver. The second she started getting more involved about 1 month out from our wedding, my stress levels dropped significantly. She knew all of our vendors personally, had planned and executed multiple weddings at our venue, and just operated with an air of confidence and ease that every bride needs in their life. The day of our wedding, Jyl took complete control of the reins, and I just got to enjoy the day. She navigated the uncertain weather, my semi-dysfunctional family, assembling our DIY centerpieces and hundreds of other details that I am not even aware of to ensure the day was perfect. She even drove off-cape to pick up and drop off our rentals, which saved us hundreds of dollars. I could not be more grateful for Jyl - do yourself a favor and pick Deering Events for your wedding!

In the words of my husband, “If anyone gets married on the cape without Jyl, they’re an idiot,” and he’s right. We worked with Jyl for almost 2 years to plan our wedding, and the day couldn’t have been any more perfect. We were planning from a few states away and we really valued her vendor network and trusted her recommendations. All of her vendor recommendations were such high quality and a pleasure to work with and we always felt like we were in great hands. We really appreciated her responsiveness to all of our random questions, even more than a year out from the wedding, and we always felt like a priority. Having her manage all of the vendor communications and follow ups made the process so smooth for us and we had a pretty stress-free planning process. Jyl really went above and beyond our expectations in the days leading up to our wedding, offering to do things we wouldn’t have thought to ask of her to get things off our plate. There was rain in the forecast, so she talked us through what our options were if it rained and let us know when we had to make a decision by, and checked in a couple times throughout the morning to see how I was feeling. If there were any crises, I had no idea. Everything was flawless, from the ceremony to the food, flowers, and tablescape! Jyl even took special care to wrap some lace from my mother’s wedding dress around my bouquet for me and removed it after photos and tucked it in my bag (thankfully, because my bouquet was accidentally taken home by someone!). We can’t recommend Jyl enough, so don’t be an idiot, work with Jyl to plan your wedding.

Jyl Deering was exactly what we were looking for when we started to plan our wedding. We engaged Jyl for day-of/month-of services and had such a great experience. Jyl confirmed with our vendors, finalized timelines, ran our rehearsal, and of course brought it all together for the day of the event. Jyl also procured gorgeous reception rentals for us, fitting our theme and they were a huge hit with our guests! Our other vendors (DJ, Photographer, HMUA, Venue, etc.) had nothing but great things to say about working with her too. Hiring Jyl was one of the best decisions we could have made. For over a year she helped us plan and prepare for our wedding on Cape Cod while we were living in California. She was always extremely quick to respond and joined us for multiple site visits. She has fantastic connections and helped us find a new florist in less than 24 hours only a few months out from our wedding when we needed to make a change. She was calm and reassuring which really helped ease my stress around the wedding. She helped execute an absolutely flawless wedding day and it was truly perfect. As someone who is typically high stress, i never could have imagined to be so calm and stress free on my wedding day and Jyl is a huge reason for that. Hiring Jyl was the best decision I made for my wedding! She is the perfect mix of calm and assertive. In meetings, Jyl let me speak for myself but was aware when to swoop in when I did not have an answer. I don’t even know where to begin, Jyl is just absolutely amazing. 10 stars if I could! I used Jyl for full service planning and I would hire her over and over. For a little over a year she was the sole reason I didn’t stress about our wedding at all. She has this calming way about her and if something didn’t go exactly right I couldn’t even tell. She listened on what our vision was for our wedding and it really seemed like our vendors had been handpicked for us, they were all a perfect fit! She made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with and always responded so quick to emails. Trust me on your wedding day and days leading up, you don’t want to be worrying about who will be handing checks to vendors and fixing your broken bustle. Jyl goes above and beyond. She was the hype girl we all need the day of the wedding and if I can recommend anything to other couples it’s hire her, everything else will fall into place after!

Jyl was amazing! We originally hired her for just day of coordination but as the stresses grew, she fully took over communications with our venue. On the day of she was a lifesaver and ran to pick up last minute items and made sure the day went smoothly.Highly recommend using her !

I was extremely hesitant to hire a wedding coordinator because I am pretty organized, and type A, however, hiring Jyl is by far one of the best things I did! From the start Jyl responded quickly to emails, and was able to work with me and my budget to see what services would make the most sense for the wedding I was planning. Since my venue had a wedding coordinator I originally hired Jyl for day of coordination and to assist with transportation, but she did far more than that and helped in so many ways I never even thought of; she met with me for rental services, a brunch prior to the wedding, attended rehearsal the night before, and even helped clean up after the wedding. Her knowledge of vendors in Cape Cod was super helpful as she was able to point me in the direction of reputable vendors within my budget. She also helped think through logistics, and time line. Lastly, the aisle planner site she provided was incredibly helpful for guest list tracking and floor plan/seating arrangements. If you are thinking about hiring a coordinator, hire Jyl! She made my wedding day so smooth and I look forward to seeing her business continue to grow as I can't imagine there is anyone better out there!

Jyl is absolutely amazing. We booked her for just day-of coordinating but felt like we were getting the full-service treatment. She willingly helped me with all of my questions months ahead of the actual wedding day, and gave me plenty of advice and good tips on what to be keeping track of/ordering and when. When the week of the wedding arrived, Jyl was at the venue with us extensively: she was meticulous and organized with the other vendors, and I really felt like I could totally let go and actually relax! She realized our dream wedding vision and we are indebted to her for making our day as smooth, beautiful and memorable as possible!

My family hired Jyl for my sister's wedding a few years ago and the experience was above and beyond, so we knew when I started planning my wedding in 2019 the only nonnegotiable was to make sure Jyl was at my wedding too! Being a covid bride, having Jyl's support and expertise throughout the rollercoaster of a planning process ended up being more important than ever and was a source of comfort for us. We had to reschedule twice, and each time Jyl was there to quickly hop on calls or answer emails to help us make timely decisions - all with incredible calmness and professionalism. We also had to change a few vendors throughout the rescheduling process, and Jyl had great recommendations that we ended up hiring. When our day did come, it was PERFECT. There was not one thing that Jyl didn't think of. Even with so many moving parts, she made sure everyone and everything was where it needed to be at all times of the day, which alleviated any stress from me, my husband, and our family, so we could truly be in the moment. Days after, my parents and I were still asking each other how Jyl was able to coordinate various details, big and small, that seemed to magically appear at the right places and times throughout the day. If you are considering hiring Jyl, do it! It will be the best decision you make during your planning process.

Jyl is fantastic, you will not regret hiring her to help you navigate the wedding planning process. We live out of state and did the partial planning package. Jyl helped us to find all the amazing vendors we worked with by helping to narrow down all the options to a few. She has a wonderful eye for details and was able to provide thoughtful suggestions to help make our day even special. We had to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic and even though Jyl was double booked on our new date she didn’t miss a beat and ensured we had a fantastic day of coordinator, Breanna, and even then Jyl managed to stop in several times to make sure everything was running smoothly. So to summarize: professional, caring, and a great person to have in your corner, so that you can focus on enjoying getting married to your favorite person.

Jyl was beyond amazing! After changing our destination wedding to an intimate local wedding at a family residence, we weren't originally sure if we needed a day-of coordinator... I AM SO GLAD MY NOW HUSBAND TALKED ME INTO IT. Jyl was with us from day one. Though we only hired for day-of, she was always available via email / phone for any questions that came up when booking our vendors or coordinating logistics. She even came out to both of our venue options in the neighborhood and was able to reassure us which space would work better for our guest count. Building a timeline for the days leading up to our wedding and the day-of was invaluable. On the day-of, we had tons of different local vendors that Jyl handled with ease. We asked her to play the roll of florist for some of the decor; we received so many compliments on the decor & table settings. The overall flow of the guests throughout the space was VERY important to us for an intimate wedding and Jyl made choices on vendor locations that went above and beyond. Our wedding was an amazing, intimate, local Cape Cod affair of our dreams and we credit Jyl for everything coming together.

Jyl had the fun task of helping us plan a wedding from 2018 - 2021 (thanks to the pandemic). It was so great to have Jyl by my side through the whole process. We started out by making sure all of my vendors/contracts were in order, then as 2020 became an issue she supported me through the process of rescheduling. As we got closer to the day of the actual wedding, Jyl helped make sure I wasn't forgetting anything and coordinated the day-of plan (something I'd never be able to figure out on my own). We received compliments from our family after they finally got to meet Jyl and watch her work during the wedding. You could tell she was quietly behind the scenes making everything perfect. It was incredible to be able to spend my wedding day with my family and friends knowing that I had the support of Jyl to make sure everything went smoothly.

We connected with Jyl and Deering Events after we made the decision to fly from CA to MA to have an intimate backyard ceremony on Cape Cod with 5 months of lead time. As daunting as it sounded, Jyl completely reassured us of our plan from day 1 and made sure our day went off without a hitch. Between having a deep knowledge of local vendors, coordinating on the ground while we were still in CA, and taking on countless mini-roles the day-of, Jyl is the reason our day was every bit as effortless and dreamy as we hoped it’d be.

Jyl is so special. It is hard to even put into words how memorable and meaningful it was to work with her. From start to finish, Jyl was on top of everything in a seemingly effortless way. With her unique set of skills she was able to harness all of my ideas (which there were many) and make our vision a reality. Our wedding wouldn’t have been possible without her. We had to postpone our wedding due to covid and Jyl helped us navigate those seemingly impossible waters with honesty and compassion. Our wedding was also built from scratch. Jyl made communicating with other vendors not only easy, but enjoyable. Together we were able to assemble what felt like a wedding day dream team, every vendor was as talented and special as Jyl. Her ability to collaborate with everyone was an integral part of what made our wedding so successful. On our wedding day my partner and I were calm and able to be present because we knew Jyl was by our side. Any little fire that arose she put out without us even knowing. You won't find a more personal, caring, organized, and detail oriented person than Jyl. My husband and I can't recommend her enough, and even our family and friends in the wedding party couldn't stop talking about how amazing she was and how wonderful it was that we worked with her. We initially started working with Jyl when we got engaged in 2019. Jyl kept us on track with prioritizing what we needed to do and when. She recommended amazing vendors that matched what we were looking for and the price point we wanted to stay within. Our wedding was pretty much planned for 7/11/2020 by the time COVID hit. Jyl worked with us immediately to help us reach out to vendors and help us with moving our wedding to 2021, including helping us find new vendors for the ones who were unavailable for our new date. We were so concerned when we decided to postpone that it would be really difficult, but Jyl made the process seamless and as stress free as possible. Fast forward to April of 2021, and my husband and I decided to move forward with a microwedding in 2021 with our 200 person reception in 2022. Jyl helped us tremendously with re-envisioning what our downsized event would look like, and it was everything we pictured and more. She listened to what we wanted to prioritize and helped to make our day really feel like it was personal and perfect for us. On our actual wedding day, Jyl made it so that we could enjoy every moment. From getting ready, handing out envelopes to vendors, to set up, we didn't have to think about anything, and could really appreciate our day and enjoy each minute. She checked in throughout the day to make sure we were doing, while working her magic behind the scenes to make everything happen. The day flew by but I truly think we had such an incredible wedding because Jyl was there for every step making sure things ran smoothly and dealing with anything that came up. We are so excited to be working with Jyl again for our 2022 reception! If you are on the fence about a wedding planner, we can't recommend Jyl highly enough.

We cannot thank Jyl enough for coordinating my daughter's wedding. She stuck with us through 2020 (original date) to 2021. Jyl picked the very best vendors, she handled all the correspondence and was with the bride and groom all the way from beginning to end; all with competence and a smile. She managed the entire reception, every aspect, from vendors, to cutting the cake, to putting out the goodie bags, and then some; every minute detail. She even came to the rescue of the mother of the bride on the day of the wedding when she picked her up at a wrong destination! We have begun calling her Saint Jyl and she totally deserves that title. Thank you Jyl, we could have never done this without you!

My husband and I are forever grateful to Jyl for sticking with us through COVID and coordinating the absolutely best, most memorable wedding for us and our guests. Jyl is very organized and made many very helpful recommendations throughout the planning process. She was there every step of the way through our original planning and re-planning, which is above and beyond anything we every expected. Jyl was absolutely incredible! I plan to recommend her to every one of my friends getting married in the area. We had the most amazing Martha's Vineyard wedding celebration last month. I can't say enough about how much a life saver she was for my husband and I. We originally had our wedding planned for June 2020...but with Covid we had to re-schedule and postpone everything to June 2021. Jyl did it all! She called all the vendors to re-schedule and worked with them directly which was such a relief for us. During the wedding weekend, she was on top of everything. I had such little stress because I had full confidence that Jyl had it covered. From getting an extra makeup artist last minute, to saving my dress which I spilled oil on 20 minutes before our ceremony, Jyl was instrumental to my sanity and making our day the best we could have imagined:) Jyl is organized, calm, collected and very connected to the Cape and Islands wedding scene. She was able to make important introductions to vendors and had amazing ideas to incorporate into our wedding weekend. I can not stress how much we recommend Jyl. Thank you Jyl for everything!!!

So many good things to say about Jyl (and her assistant Megan) I don't even know where to start! Navigating planning a wedding during a pandemic was no easy feat, but Jyl made us feel at ease and taken care of completely. Our wedding was at a venue that required a lot of our own set-up as well as bringing in all our vendors, but both Jyl and Megan made us feel as if we didn't have to worry about a thing the whole weekend! Everything was thought of and I am so appreciative for their help. Our wedding went off without a hitch and I totally credit that to Jyl and Megan for their help!!

Hiring Jyl was our best decisions when planning our wedding. Shortly after getting engaged in 2017 I started planning our wedding. I had a vision but I needed help pulling it together. The minute I met Jyl I knew we had to hire her. She understood what I was looking to do. I wanted something beautiful but also with a romantic dark and moody vibe. We worked together for over two years making it happen. She introduced us to the best vendors out there who could help pull our vision together as well as staying within our budget. Six weeks before our wedding the pandemic hit and I was devastated. Jyl was super supportive and willing to do whatever we wanted. She helped us plan our elopement as well as still planning for the celebration we would have later on. She helped us work through two postponements and navigate the ever changing restrictions. We decided to have a micro wedding in April 2021 and it was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we wanted our day to be. The day of the wedding everything went so smooth because of Jyl and we didn't have to worry about a thing. She had everything organized to the exact minute. Even when I personally hit a few bumps such as a pounding headache and a snag in my dress Jyl had tylenol and a tiny sewing kit ready to go. My sister later said "I don't know how anyone gets married without a wedding planner". I absolutely agree it made the whole process stress free even during a pandemic. I also appreciated Jyl always giving an honest opinion about what would work best and an excellent communicator. You can always expect a quick response from her. She is the best out there. If you want a stress free planning process and a perfect stress free wedding day... hire Jyl (:

I originally signed on with Jyl for a partial wedding planning package when we were going to host a wedding and reception at a restaurant, and consider a very informal backyard engagement party, but when COVID hit, we decided to pivot our big day to take place in our backyard. Jyl was so great about helping us find vendors to plan a 20 person wedding starting in April, for a late October date, and being flexible about our change of plans. I was so impressed with her vendor choices, communication, and just general support. She was great at also letting us know where were in the process with everything, and who was responsible for what. She has a way of being very relaxed and calm, yet staying on top of things- this was important to us because I am very type A but my now husband is more laid back. She is budget friendly and gave good advice on where it was worth to put our money, and where we could lighten up a bit. We changed the package to have her provide onsite support day of and it was so great to have her there- I didn't have to worry about anything and we could just enjoy our magical day. I can't think how this could have gone any better, would highly recommend Jyl!

Even though our son's wedding plans changed due to the pandemic, I wanted to commend Jyl on her professionalism and help during this uncertain time. She was organized, stayed on task and was a pleasure throughout the process. She worked well with both the couple as well as all the parents involved, which is not always an easy task.
