We found so much more than just an outstanding planner at Design by Sage. Kellye was right there through the process, keeping an eye on contracts and making sure nothing fell through the cracks.
She has the perfect disposition to offset the stresses and timelines a bride has to deal with during planning. She was impeccably organized and had the most calming demeanor. On more than one occasion, she went above and beyond what we expected. She advocated for us with vendors and she had every admin detail fine tuned, so that we could just relax and enjoy the day. She also came through with lovely design suggestions when we were stumped. Her strongest gift was that she never lost sight of our vision and she made it happen, even with the challenges of postponements and shifting covid guidelines. I truly have to give her credit for ensuring that my daughter's wedding day was magical. Do not hesitate to trust her with your big day.
Hiring Design by Sage was single-handedly the best decision I made during my wedding planning. They put me at ease, were a great support system, and truly delivered when it comes to full wedding coordination services before the wedding and the day-of.
Kellye is one of the sweetest, most caring, compassionate, knowledable, and helpful people I have ever come into contact with professionally. She truly cares about her clients, and from our very first meeting was extremely organized and professional, and took my "vision" for the day into consideration at all times. She respected my budget, kept me on task, answered any and all questions promptly and would immediately put me at ease. As with all big events that can take up to a year to plan, things go wrong, and she would fix them before I even knew there was an issue. Less than a week before my wedding one of my vendors fell through, and she found another vendor (who was even better) before I even knew anything happened. Kellye helped with all my vendor selections, kept me on top of my timeline, gave me great ideas I never would have thought of myself, handled all timing and follow up with vendors the month before (this is huge), and most of all kept me CALM. She is truly a gem.
Kim provided my day-of coordination, which is an immeasurably important service that I think all brides need. She thought of every last detail, handled all the "behind the scenes" things that came up, helped with set up, answered questions, made sure people were at the right place and the right time, and didn't let me worry about a thing. She didn't want me to lift a finger, and handled all tasks herself so that I could enjoy my day. She is a wonderful, sweet, and organized person...and I appreciate what she did very much.
I would HIGHLY recommend Design by Sage services to any bride. Planning a wedding from out of state is a hard task, and they made it happen and it the wedding of my dreams. Kellye and Kim and their entire staff are simply wonderful!
Working with Kellye Grady from Design by Sage was one of the best choices I made for my wedding day. I love, love, love flowers but did not have an enormous flower budget for my wedding. I had gone through tons of wedding magazines and pulled out pictures of what I liked but quickly realized that my tastes were kind of all over the place and a bit more expensive than I could afford. During my first meeting with Kellye, we sat down and she had me show her pictures of what I liked. I was worried she was going to be overwhelmed by my wide spectrum but, without batting an eye, she said it wasn’t a problem at all! By mixing and matching, she was able to incorporate little bites of everything I wanted, all the while sticking to my budget. The flowers she provided at both my rehearsal dinner and on my wedding day were beyond gorgeous. From the boutonnieres to the mother’s bouquets, I loved what she had done for each one. As the ultimate seal of approval, even my dad (who couldn’t have cared less about the flowers) commented on how much he liked his boutonniere. Beautiful, beautiful work!
Andrea Jennings from Design By Sage was the third coordinator I interviewed. After spending some time discussing our wedding and plans made so far, Andrea had some excellent suggestions. It was then, I felt like she just really got the idea of what we were going for as a couple. We hired Design By Sage for day of coordination and floral design. Our wedding was small (35 guests), so Andrea handled most of our wedding stuff. On the few occasions that she was not available, Kellye was very helpful with questions.
Included with our day of coordination, Andrea offered suggestions for vendors, reviewed our contracts, and helped keep me on track through emails and phone conversations. We had two meetings at the reception restaurant as time got closer to the wedding in order to iron out all of the details. I realized the real value of having Andrea as an experienced coordinator when we experienced major staff turnover at our two reception venues. Even though we had to make some changes, Andrea was instrumental in getting all the details straightened out with the new staff and making sure that the reception stayed true to our vision! I really don't know what I would have done without her, especially the week leading up to the wedding. We also had to add last minute table runners, so Andrea called the vendor and set it up so all I had to do was pick between two choices. She then came to my house to get them and a few other items the day before the wedding, which was tremendously helpful since we had a lot of family from out-of-town coming to our house for a BBQ. The day of the wedding I was so nervous I didn't even know what was going on, but Andrea did great at her job and just kept me and everything else moving smoothly right on track!
Andrea and Kellye did a wonderful job with our floral design even though I only had a vague idea of what I wanted. I had several women comment to me about how beautiful the flowers were. I think their masterpiece was my bridal bouquet…simple, yet gorgeous, and perfect for me!!! I am having it freeze dried and preserved in a shadowbox display. Also, they were on top of things with our boutonnieres. The original type of flower (freesia) I had picked did not ship well and thus did not look the best. They went ahead and made the boutonnieres to my specs, but also made some awesome back-up ones with roses, which are what we ended up using.
These girls are the BEST! I had a somewhat "out-of-the-box" type wedding and they made it very classy and beautiful. They were able to accent both of our personalities in all of the touches...flowers, decor, flow of the wedding, etc. All of my attendants loved them - everyone is use to coordinators being short-tempered and irritable, but these girls were so pleasant my friends were so pleased! I love, love, loved my flowers. They were bright and cheery, just as I had hoped. They managed all of the details while keeping me calm and stress-free. Even my cheap husband said they were worth every penny :)

My experience with Design by Sage surpassed all of my expectations. From our first meeting, we knew that we had chosen the right vendor. They became a part of the family in the process. They had so many great suggestions, and we looked to them for guidance during the planning stages. The wedding turned out perfectly, and we enjoyed every moment of it! They were so accommodating, professional and a joy to be around. We are truly grateful for their uncompromising style and grace. They made wedding planning fun!
On another note, we used them for our floral design as well. They listened to what we wanted and made our vision a reality. It was perfect.
I chose Andrea with Design by Sage based on her warm and genuinely caring personality. She truly tried to understand where my fiance and I were coming from and at the same time take into account my parent's wishes and concerns. Andrea made me aware of the small details that one could easily overlook until the moment actually came. She did not just point out the obstacle, she had several solutions to tactfully deal with the issues. For expamle, our dog Guinness was supposed to be our ring bearer, unfortunately before we were married he passed of cancer. During a moment of weakness I called and asked my cousin if her son would be our ring bearer. I instantly regretted asking. I told Andrea about this and she gave me several alternatives to honor our four legged friend and gave me the courage to call my cousin and tell her the truth! This was a hard time for us to lose Guinness, while we were planning a wedding. Andrea suggested that our rings be carried on his collar by our ushers and given to the officiant, who hung the collar on the tree at our creekside venue, for all to see. It was the best thing we could have ever done and I am glad Design by Sage saw and understood the importance and delicacy needed to handle this situation last minute.
Andrea also made several other suggestions based on our wedding logistics. I had a reception dress to change into before our grand entrance as the married couple. As we changed in our townhome, Design by Sage took the time to make us both plates from our reception menu so that we could eat in peace (and actually be able to sit down and eat) before making our rounds to all of our family and friends who came to celebrate with us. I don't think couples realize how intense the meet and greet part of the reception is, but Design by Sage saw this coming and we were able to enjoy a full meal that we had taken so much time choosing.
Andrea's patient and down to earth temperment made me feel calm at the most pressing moments. I originally thought that I would dread having to answer to another person "calling the shots" or "giving direction" but instead Josh and I felt like we had a Genie in a Bottle.
I have also been lucky enough to meet Andrea's business partner Kelley. She shares the same qualities that shined so bright with Andrea. This pair is a perfect team and come highly recommended by me, my husband and my parents.

I never dreamed that I could have such a good time at my own daughter’s wedding! A glorious occasion was even more glorious because my daughter and I knew that not only had every detail been addressed but every possibility of a problem had also been considered. This is because we were in the expert hands and caring hearts of Design By Sage, a dynamic duo with down home consideration and uptown taste and business acumen. Though my daughter and I work a combined 90+ hours a week in Houston (her more than me), we were determined to make an out of the city out of this world wedding on a very grounded budget. Design By Sage joined us in our determination to treat ourselves, family and friends to a truly special Hill Country wedding. They were available, helpful, and knowledgeable and instinctively knew when to step in and when to step out. My only wish is that I could be granted a do over, and I would do it all the same.
