Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives, and we’re incredibly grateful that our vision came to life. The final design was beautiful, and we loved working with our vendor team.
Unfortunately, our experience with Details Darling throughout the planning process did not meet our expectations.
The biggest challenge was communication. Responses regularly took about a week, despite email being identified as the preferred method of communication, and we often had to send multiple follow-ups or text messages to receive answers. More concerning, these communication delays also affected our vendors. Our rental company repeatedly followed up on outstanding items because they were unable to get the information they needed, and I ultimately called them myself to apologize and reassure them that we valued their partnership. Our paper goods designer also contacted me directly on multiple occasions because they were not receiving timely responses from our planner.
Accountability was another significant disappointment. We spoke with one of the owners during our initial consultation, but after signing our contract and submitting our deposit, we never heard from ownership again. In fact, after our deposit had been in their possession for several days, I had to reach out myself asking what the next steps were. Later, after raising serious concerns about our experience early in the planning process, there was still no outreach or involvement from ownership to understand our concerns or ensure our experience improved. That lack of leadership and accountability was disappointing.
Throughout the planning process, we often felt like we were driving the work ourselves. We were the ones identifying ways to reduce costs while still achieving our design goals. Rather than acting as a strategic partner in balancing budget and design, we often found ourselves leading those conversations. We also experienced confusion with rental pricing that resulted in unnecessary time and effort to resolve.
There were also several day-of execution issues that were disappointing, including our escort card display not being set up as designed, my veil not being steamed, music delays with our ceremony and reception entrance, limited coordination during family photos, meals that were promised to be saved for us never being delivered, and our cake still being rock hard because it had not been removed from refrigerator in time.
None of these issues individually ruined our wedding day, but together they reflected a pattern of slow communication, limited accountability, and inconsistent execution. Looking back, we believe our wedding was as successful as it was because of our own preparation and the exceptional work of vendors we selected, none of which were on the recommended vendor list from our planner.
We appreciate the time Monica invested in our wedding and her kindness. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend her or Details Darling’s planning services to couples looking for a planner who will communicate proactively, advocate for their clients, and consistently follow through on commitments.

We worked closely with Aubrey for nearly two years, and from day one, she was the definition of dedicated, detail-oriented, and deeply caring. Planning a wedding over a two-year span can easily feel overwhelming, but Aubrey made the entire journey an absolute joy. She was incredibly hands-on, keeping us perfectly on track and ensuring every single one of our goals and action items was met with ease.
Aubrey’s expertise is truly unmatched. Throughout the process, she provided invaluable, top-tier recommendations for everything—from stunning design concepts and perfect vendor matches to seamless timeline structures. She also took the massive weight of managing all vendor and third-party communication entirely off our shoulders. No matter what came up, Aubrey always championed our vision, ensuring our needs and wants were always the top priority.
On top of Aubrey's personalized care, Details, Darling as a company provided phenomenal planning resources and guides that we referenced constantly. They really set us up for success from the very beginning.
When our wedding day finally arrived, we couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect celebration. Everything was executed flawlessly, thanks to the impressive, masterclass orchestration by Aubrey and her team. Because of them, my wife and I were able to be completely present, relaxed, and entirely stress-free on the happiest day of our lives.

Details Darling was exactly what we wanted in a wedding planner - communicative, responsive, detail-oriented, and professional. Their eye for design on all items, big or small, was truly uncanny. es and answered all questions asked. However, on the day of the event I felt there were some details that were missed. I had purchased an audio phone for a guestbook as well as a picture frame. I had discussed this with Kayla, but it was not set up properly and ultimately guests never saw it and so I left our wedding day with no guest book and no memory or keepsakes from guests who were there. That was super disappointing considering it was a detail I was very excited about. I also spent a lot of time designing signs on Canva for the guest book, bar, etc, which weren’t displayed. Another missed detail was the swavorski champagne glasses that stayed in their box under our sweetheart table. Overall, I felt that for the amount of money paid, these were points that I felt shouldn’t have been missed. For reference, our wedding was in Scottsdale, AZ so I cannot comment on the rest of the team in LA.

I was not always the easiest bride to deal with when it came to all of my requests, questions, and ideas. Kayla never made me feel like a burden and always seemed happy to address anything that I was dealing with. If I had any issues with vendors or thought that they could offer more or do something different, Kayla was always willing to step in to make sure they were meeting my vision.

the entire world was shut down, I knew we had to book them immediately for our wedding in 2022. Looking back, Aubrey made the entire experience SO fun from start to finish, and made our long lead time filled with excitement. Our wedding design turned out STUNNING, and their incredible relationships with top vendors really went such a long way. Aubrey went above and beyond, and not one detail was spared (all the way down to our very custom elements like our “ring for champagne” experience). She worked so closely with our venue to get exactly what we wanted (which can be no small feat when it comes to venues!) She had our back every step of the way.
I’m still so sad it’s all over, and wish I could re-live our amazing wedding prep period all over again! I know that as we look back on our entire experience from design, to photos, to Aubrey’s incredible design eye, I’ll always remember it as our classic so very “us” weekend. I’m so excited to see all of the other weddings they continue to take on, and will always remember our time so close to my heart! e, I can say unequivocally that she was the brains behind our entire wedding vision and she couldn't have brought it to life without the help of Kendra (our lead planner) and Aubrey (the owner of Details Darling). She works an incredibly demanding job, helps run a small business with her parents, and also helps me from time to time with my business. Having a resource like Kendra & the team at Details for our big day lifted such a weight off our shoulders throughout the wedding planning process. Even better, when we needed answers or creative solutions, Kendra and the team were always available and so quick to respond. I'm sure my wife could go on and on about the support we received since she was in the depths of most of the "Details."
I'll finish with the following, if I had a dollar for every time she said, "Thank God we hired a wedding planner!" I could probably cover the cost of our honeymoon! Thanks, Details team!

uthern California, I was referred to Details,Darling by a friend from college (although I had seen, saved, and favorited many of their posts coincidentally after getting engaged!) who had recently gotten married and worked with Kenzie for her Palm Springs wedding. After my initial convo with our would-be planner, I felt overcome with a sense of calm and pure excitement - a theme that would carry throughout the entire wedding planning process, as we were matched to work with a true angel on Earth and creative genius, Monica, of the DD team.
Monica rose to every occasion, responded enthusiastically to every single bizarre request and above all, welcomed every idea I had no matter when, or what, it was. Monica was a pro at gracefully managing my tendency to pre-stress and overthink micro-details. She not only kept us on track and on time throughout the process but was always understanding and supportive if there was ever anything I was worried or unsure about. I felt heard and supported throughout the entire year of wedding planning. My dream wedding vision was not particularly traditional and Monica wholeheartedly embraced it and put her heart into delivering the wedding of our dreams, down to the tiniest detail with passion and incredible attention to detail. Throughout the process, we continuously heard from just about every vendor we worked with how much they loved working with the DD team and it was never hard to see why. Not only are they the loveliest people, they are pros at what they do, and are extremely well-versed and connected in the wedding industry and community. There was never anything that we hoped for that Monica or the team were unable, or unwilling, to make happen.
The weekend of our wedding, Monica and the DD team were always 2 steps ahead, managing every detail flawlessly and resolving any small hiccup in a way that made them virtually unnoticeable. People often talk about ‘wedding regrets’ and my husband and I truly do not have a single one, thanks to Monica. Her seamless planning allowed us to be fully present and soak up every moment with our loved ones. Our guests were not only blown away by every detail and the execution of the wedding itself, but many complimented Monica by name and what a joy she was throughout the weekend. Our family and friends haven’t stopped raving about our wedding even months later. Monica poured her heart, soul, every ounce of energy, and a herculean effort into planning our wedding weekend (3 full days!) and did it with unwavering positivity, kindness and that ever-present calmness that inspires me to this day. We feel so lucky to have spent our 14ish months planning with Alessandra. She took what I know can be a stressful experience and broke it into manageable bites, but was always ready to jump ahead to match our pace if there was anything we were particularly worried about. Alessandra is incredibly responsive, professional, endlessly positive, and kind. She was able to hear our vision and deliver on exactly what we were looking for, communicating with challenging small town vendors and finding ways to make everything we wanted happen. Weeks before the wedding when our guest count shifted, she even managed to work with the venue and vendors to design an entirely new dinner and cocktail hour layout without skipping a beat.
When it came to the wedding day, Alessandra and her team covered every detail flawlessly. It allowed us to be fully present and enjoy our wedding day in a way that I wouldn't have dreamed possible. We have had so many friends and family tell us that our wedding was the best they'd ever been to - and that was entirely due to Alessandra and the Details Darling team. The biggest sadness is that we don't have them in our lives on a near-daily basis anymore!

We didn’t use the full wedding planning service as I did most of it myself, we did day of coordination and I highly recommend!! We booked months in advance and then started working with our team 2 months before the wedding and although it may seem like not that much, it was SO helpful. She was always there if we had any questions, provided vendor recommendations, and provided awesome support leading up to our big day. Super sweet, responsive, helpful, and overall amazing! Would definitely recommend to any bride!!

At our first meeting on-site at the venue, she had her clipboard and notes and questions and fully took over the meeting which calmed all my nerves and I knew I was in great hands. Not only are her organizational skills through the roof, she is so responsive and quick, and the kindest person ever. Any time there was a situation with vendors, she handled it fully and then told me after the fact so no added stress was put on my plate. The 3 months working with Kendra was amazing. Then we get to wedding weekend… and it was THE BEST!!! She was the first one at the venue on Friday for set up and literally the last one to leave at 10pm to make sure everything was perfect and same thing on Saturday for wedding day. She checked on me throughout the day, gave me positive updates on how things were looking and has such a calming energy about her and I fully trusted it would be great. I also gave Kendra full control over decor for the welcome table, disco balls on the light tent, martin light up sign, etc. and she freaking crushed it!!! Everything was picture perfect. I truly couldn’t have dreamt of a more stunning setup and I owe it all to her. Not one thing went wrong on my wedding weekend and if it did, I didn’t hear about it! Before hiring Kendra I met with several potential coordinators outside of Details Darling, and unfortunately they were snobby and kept pushing for higher minimums than I was comfortable planning around. After my first call with Kendra, it was like a breath of fresh air and I felt SO confident in my decision to move forward with her and her amazing team! Kendra instantly calmed my nerves, provided thorough help earlier than was contracted (I did the 3 month out package) and never said no to helping me! My wedding would have been incomplete without her guidance.
Lastly, working with Kendra felt like working with a close friend. Her positive energy and overall demeanor is what you need when planning for something that can be stressful. On our wedding day, there was huge mix up with our dessert vendor and it was a situation that we would have never guessed would happen. If we had known what happened on our wedding day, it would have put so much stress on us as the bride and groom - but Kendra made sure that we did not have to worry about it and took care of everything! When searching for a planner, I thought I wanted someone responsive, organized, and efficient (all things Kenzie is to the core), but what I got was so much more. A wonderful confidant, a trusted companion to help me and my husband navigate (and enjoy) the unknown, and someone who didn't just bring our dream wedding to life but helped us envision, create, and execute on it.
I have a hard time making decisions, but with Kenzie, it was a breeze. We went through a full design process with Kenzie where her guidance on color palettes, table setting mock-ups, signage and more was invaluable; she has an amazing eye to be able to pull ideas together. Kenzie went above and beyond throughout the entire process - she provided great advice during our onsite tours around guest flow and design set-up, helped us work through mock-ups and even spent extra time going in person to track down the perfect napkins for us.
What I also appreciated about Details Darling, is they take the time to really get to know you and your partner - Kenzie spent multiple calls in the early months of planning getting to know our love story and what makes us special. She then was able to incorporate the things that are meaningful to us into our wedding...yes, we had a full designed espresso martini and chocolate croissant wall! Kenzie also brought us incredible options for vendor selections - all of whom were similarly lovely humans and incredible at their respective expertise - we had the best experience with every single vendor we worked with. Kenzie, her team, and all the vendors just truly cared about us and all the details.
We had Kenzie help us with our entire destination wedding - from welcome bags, to the rehearsal dinner design/execution, welcome party design/execution, and then of course the wedding day itself. Kenzie and her team did not miss a beat - every single detail was thought of and handled with grace. Whenever I was around Kenzie throughout the weekend, I felt instantly calm and collected. I wish I could go back in time and do the planning process all over again with Kenzie because it was that much fun. When I think about our wedding and why it was so special, one of the biggest reasons is Kenzie and Details Darling.

She has such a fun and yet refined sense of style and she really helped elevate my vision with her own ideas and recommendations. Apart from design, Mackenzie was also so patient, flexible, and understanding when it came to the ups and downs of determining guest count, budgets, and general wedding stresses. She has a calming and caring way about her that I really appreciated when times felt tough.
She had to have done a ton of work behind the scenes too because my wedding day was seamless! No issues with vendors, we ran on time, and we were able to ENJOY every moment- at the end of the night, my husband said he would do it all again- that's how easy, fun, and beautiful the day turned out to be!
Finally, something that will stick with me forever is that when the wedding was over and my husband and I went to our suite on the property, Mackenzie had tidied it up (it was also where the guys got ready earlier in the day) and placed my bouquet on the bed and a few of the floral arrangements around it. all been so stressed. They all said that if it was possible within my budget, to hire a wedding planner. When it was time to start planning, I only had Details, Darling in mind and hoped that they were available to work with us. I had been following DD for at least a year on Instagram and really liked their aesthetic and design.
After a conversation or two, Monica became our planner and I was so grateful to have her. She was always like a ray of sunshine when you were in her presence. She is so friendly and immediately puts all your bridal anxieties at ease. I had no doubt that she could plan the heck out of our wedding. She was always attentive and empathetic, just the sweetest person. She understood our vision and blended our tastes/hobbies/personalities together so well. When we didn’t know what we wanted, she filled in the blanks.
The day came and everything looked beautiful. She put me at ease and the only stress I felt that day was reciting my vows correctly (public speaking is not my strong suit). All the vendors that Monica recommended and had worked with previously were amazing! Our guests were blown away by how fun our wedding was and did not stop raving about it for some time after. The day went so smoothly and we know that Monica and her team went above and beyond to make it perfect.
