Diamonds and Pearls Events

At our first meeting, Chris and Morgan made me feel like they’d have it all under control and that they’d go above and beyond for my wedding, but that wasn’t the case. They did most of the things they said would, but me, my husband and our families felt like it was subpar. They were hired after I’d already picked out my venues and photographer, so they only had to help with smaller details and finding vendors. This may be long, but it’s detailed to give you the full picture. They were optimistic and always made it seem like they could give me anything I asked for, but didn’t deliver. They did email us vendor & pricing info for some DJs and transportation, but we found our own. We did use their suggested decor vendor, which I was told by Chris we’d get a discount on, but never did. They suggested 1 hotel to block rooms at, but when I asked them to reach out to another hotel, they never followed up or even reached out to the hotel, so I had to do it myself. They said they’d book the cake tasting, so I gave them the date 2 months in advance and they never called to set it up, so I did that as well. When the day came to go to the tasting, which Chris said they’d be there for, they never showed up or communicated that they weren’t coming. Five days passed and I HAD TO CALL THEM to see what happened and his excuse was Morgan was in the hospital and he got a new phone so the calendar must’ve not transferred everything. Morgan is the head planner and she has health issues so she wasn’t around very often. Most the communication was with Chris who seemed overwhelmed. Being that it was only November 2019 and the wedding was in February 2020, I was going to find new planners after that, but Chris stepped up and reached out to see if I needed help. A month before the wedding I called and texted to have them coordinate somethings with ceremony venue and after 2 days of no contact from them (which is a problem since they told us before they have phone issues), I decided to look for new planners. My mom talked to them and calmed me down since the wedding was so close and I decided to stick with them. I should’ve stuck to my gut because low and behold, Chris called me around 4pm the day before my wedding to tell me Morgan was in the hospital and wouldn’t be able to make it! I had two separate venues so she was going to set up the reception venue while he did the ceremony, but he assured me that his mother in law would set it up to the best of her abilities. Though we were overjoyed on our day and had a good time, it was definitely not a low stress situation as it should’ve been being that we had 2 wedding planners. Dealing with Chris and Morgan made me feel like I should’ve hired a day of coordinator, or a different wedding planner all together because the planning was all on me. I’d give them 2 stars for the effort they put in, but due to the stress and panic I felt most days dealing with my simple wedding, I wouldn’t recommend them. They are big talkers, but they sold themselves short.
