James, the Vice President of Operations & Corporate Sales doesn’t even follow the contract that customers sign. He interprets it in his own way and becomes an immovable force threatening clients who are having an issue or needing to cancel for whatever reason and making it as difficult as possible to get anything resolved. He will do everything he can to steal your money. We were supposed to have an event with them in November of 2022 after having to reschedule due to COVID. After many issues with family members continuing to be concerned about COVID we decided to fully cancel our big wedding and just elope instead. We reached out to A’britin well over the 90 days that they require to let them know of this unfortunate circumstance. We asked them to refund us money that was not stated in our contract as non refundable. We did not ask for The Retainer back (which is stated as non refundable a couple times in the contract) we asked for the Additional Retainer (which is not stated as non refundable) back. We had been told by the consultant we were working with when we were originally thinking of cancelling that we would be getting the Additional Retainer back if we canceled before the 90 day point. James immediately became incredibly hostile, he did not seem to understand what we were asking for, even though we attempted to tell him numerous times. He insisted that we were simply not agreeing even though the statement in their contract is incredibly clear. He threatened us with lawyers numerous times stating that they would not be refunding us anything even though the contract he kept sending pieces of was very clear that the Additional Retainer we were asking for was not stated as non refundable. Since they believe they have resolved this issue, we are free to post this review. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT work with them. They seem friendly and helpful until you have an issue and then you are put in touch with James, who’s email signature is honestly laughable. His signature states: “We listen to our clients and treat them like family to provide a meaningful, trusting and lasting relationship.” If this company believes in that statement then the way James is conducting business on their behalf is not representative of their core values. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE, in fact I will be contacting all the vendors who have this company listed on their preferred vendors list and letting them know of this incident and advising them and anyone planning their wedding to steer clear of A’britin Catering and their affiliates.

Distinctive Catering exceeded our expectations. The food, service and professionalism were all top notch. I had quite a few changes while creating our menu and Jessica accommodated all requests with ease. Guests complimented the food and were very impressed with the presentation and quality. I would highly recommend distinctive catering for your event!

The food at our wedding at Legacy Hill Farm was the best wedding food I've ever had. It was actually a lot better than it was at our tasting. The servers were very efficient and professional. They were very attentive to my dad's food allergies and he didn't get sick! I loved how the food was displayed on the plates- attractive and appetizing. We served the beef short ribs, salmon, and chicken and received compliments on all of them. The salmon was very moist which is hard to do at a wedding. The manager was very attentive and even came and found my groom and I to make sure we had ice cream before the ice cream sundae bar ran out. Distinctive was on the more expensive side but totally worth it if you are looking for a traditional, classy meal at your wedding.

We received more compliments about our food than anything else at our wedding! Olivia and her team really listened to us and helped us find a unique mix of our favorite foods, which was really fun for our guests. Everything was prepared perfectly, and the staff were so attentive and friendly.

We selected Distinctive Catering out of the required 3 in house catering options at our venue. We liked that they had more of an all inclusive package the entree price included, salad, bread, entree, 2 sides along with real plates and silverware, charger, napkin and water glassware. The food did not disappoint and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of at our wedding. Our guests raved about the meal, especially the wood fired pizzas as a late night snack! The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is because they have an "event production" fee that is a 30% charge on top of your bill that can really put a dent in your budget.

Distinctive Catering exceeded our expectations in both the quality of the food (excellent) and the service (also excellent). Staff was great to work with in establishing a budget for both food and bar service but they absolutely exceeded our expectations the day of our wedding (9/29). Absolutely recommend working with this team. Thank you!

Generally speaking Distinctive did a strong job with a few hiccups along the way that were rectified. The first tasting was disorganized but we ended up getting what we needed and they made it right by compensating us with free BBQ sauce on our pork chops. Additionally, the tortellini served to us on the wedding day was served cold-to-lukewarm. Annette immediately took care of it for us and there weren’t any further problems. Distinctive’s account managers were very accommodating of our guests with dietary restrictions - which we were very thankful for. We heard a lot of compliments the night of the wedding on the quality of the food and the servers. However, the servers were outfitted in absolutely bizarre black gloves that might have been meant to convey elegance but looked more like something a serial killer like Dexter would wear. I would highly, highly recommend Distinctive Catering and Events. My husband and I got married at Legacy Hill Farm in Welch, MN and despite the cold and being scrunched into the reception area for most of the time, Distinctive Catering worked around us and we barely even knew they were there. They set everything up, cleaned everything up, and had such a positive attitude while they worked. The bartenders deserve an extra big thank you for being out in the cold the entire evening, but again, they stayed remarkably positive and wonderful. The food was better than anything I've ever had before and the chocolate fountain was the perfect end to the perfect meal. I had two guests that were vegan and they made them special kabobs and they got them flawlessly, same for the kids meals. I would recommend this caterer to anyone.

Distinctive Catering is the BEST! Our wedding was October 28, 2017 and we were beyond impressed with their service. They were so helpful with responding to all of our questions and concerns during the planning process. Our bartenders and servers were all so friendly to our entire wedding party and guests. The late night pizza was amazing and our dinner was so delicious. My husband and I liked the garlic mashed potatoes the best! We definitely recommend Distinctive Catering!!

We used Distinctive Catering for our wedding in August and we are so glad that we did! First off, the food was AMAZING. We received countless compliments from guests on the appetizers and dinner (rare that wedding food is great ;) ). The staff is wonderful to work with. They have excellent customer service - timely responses to all questions I had. I would use Distinctive for all future catering needs!

Distinctive Catering & Events helped make the wedding day perfect! Professional service and quality food were provided. Abby was instrumental in helping us make decisions with the meal we selected. She was always very gracious and helpful as was Amy. They both worked very hard the day of the wedding and the table set-up could not have looked more beautiful. Bar tenders were efficient and professional also. We cannot say enough about Chef David. He is not only a wonderful chef, but also helpful in selecting our menu for the day. Our food was exceptional. All Distinctive staff presented themselves in a very professional manner. The food along the serving line was wonderfully presented. We had so many compliments on how great the food was. Distinctive delivered exactly what they said they would do for us. Thank you for all your hard work, all very much appreciated.

Our food was AMAZING!!! Everybody kept complimenting us on the food, it truly was to die for!! If you ever get the chance get their Yukon Gold mashed potatoes! I still dream about those! We highly recommend Distinctive!! We would also like to highly recommend Abby at distinctive! She is so helpful and such a delight!

My husband and I just used them for our wedding. We were very pleased with the he chef, food, presentation and servers at the wedding. However, events leading up to the wedding were extremely unprofessional. Seth is rude and got very snarky with me when I was asking questions. He was not helpful or professional throughout any of the process. The owner Dawn is nice but she hands most things off to Seth. We had gone to an open house tasting event they had when we decided we had had enough of them. Fortunately we ran into chef David who we instantly loved. Glad we used David but wish we didn't have to go through this company to get a wonderful chef.
