Distinctive Catering

We really liked Distinctive Catering, the only thoughts we had was that we wish the bar options were explained a little better as far as what they can and cannot serve, what mixers they have and one of our bartenders did make “comedic” jokes that made some of our guests a little weirded out. Another thing my father had noticed was a staff member constantly walking around our gift and card table so we did end up having to put them away. Also not having a room to put our stuff was a bummer, they said we could leave our stuff in the back hallway where we did our entrances but the door to that back hallway remained open and staff members were lurking in and out all night of that hallway so we did have to squeeze our stuff behind our seats at the head table. As far as the food, it was just okay. When we did the tasting, the smoked chicken was different and the brisket seemed a little burnt but overall not bad.

We had Distinctive Catering for our wedding in October and they were amazing. They answered all of my questions & concerns quickly. The food was amazing and we had sooo many compliments on good it was!

Distinctive Catering was an excellent choice for our wedding catering. From the very beginning, their communication was quick, responsive, and extremely helpful as we planned the menu and logistics for our special day. On the day of the wedding, their team was professional, efficient, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The food was truly outstanding - the buffalo mozzarella bruschetta was absolutely delicious, and the prime rib was cooked to perfection. Our guests raved about the great flavors and high-quality of the entire meal. Distinctive Catering's great service and amazing food helped make our wedding day truly memorable.

Our wedding was food was AMAZING. The menu we chose included beef tips with mushroom wine sauce, Tuscan chicken, wild rice, duchess potatoes, maple glazed baby carrots, with a plated salad and rolls. The food was served HOT and stayed hot throughout the duration of the buffet. The food is something everyone remembers from events they attend, and we had so many compliments from our guests about how great the food was. The staff that served at our event were excellent! Super nice, very professional. I felt the timing of everything was on-track, there were no issues. I wish I had the names of the staff to give a shout out to them. The booking process was easy; communication was thorough, efficient, and prompt. The tasting process and event was super helpful also in choosing our menu. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Distinctive catering was absolutely amazing. I was confused on so many things, but throughout all of my confusion and stress, they made sure I had everything I needed. The food was great, the service was amazing, I just truly enjoyed having them in my special day. I highly recommend.

We had Distinctive Catering provide a few different Italian dishes for our wedding, along with really tasty vegetables and salad. It was fantastic! The food was delicious, and their service was top-notch. The servers were friendly, professional, and truly went above and beyond to make our day stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for better support on such an important day. We will definitely be using them again for any future catering needs for business or other events. Highly recommend!

Everyone at our wedding enjoyed our food but communication was very difficult and did pose issues during the planning process. The lack of communication did also cause us to incur additional costs.

We had a great experience for our wedding day. We felt like there were so many options to choose from, many different price points. The communication was great. Very accommodating, even for severe allergens, we were given a safe meal, free from cross contamination. So many of our wedding guests raved to us about the food!! The only thing we didn’t love was if we wanted to order appetizers, we had to order the full guest count for each item. But that didn’t even matter in the end!

Distinctive Catering did an amazing job for our wedding! They were super easy to work with, flexible with last minute dietary needs, and the food was amazing! I would cater another event just to eat their dutchess potatoes again

Distinctive Catering did the buffet and desserts for my wedding. I thought the service was good, although I did have to hunt down one of the staff to get more plates for the dessert table. The green beans and brisket were both overcooked. However, the dessert bar was a huge hit with our guests and everyone loved the assorted cheesecakes and dipping chocolate.

The food was amazing, we had steak and chicken fajitas and everyone loved them! The tasting we went to, however, we were not very impressed with the food there, so we blindly picked the fajitas and hoped for the best! The only thing I was bummed about was that we ordered & paid for black linens and the ones they gave us were white, all in all not the end of the world and the money was refunded, but it absolutely changed the look that I had wanted for our reception.

We absolutely loved Distinctive Catering for our wedding day on June 15th! Our appetizers and buffet style dinner for our wedding reception turned out amazing AND delicious! We received so many compliments from our wedding guests that this was some of the best wedding food they had ever had. They are very reasonably priced and were very easy to work with! You will NOT regret booking Distinctive Catering for your special day!

The food was great. We had issues with our bar menu and order not being correct. We paid for things that weren’t offered. The bartender asked my family members for more tip money after they were already given money. Service could definitely improve.

They were very easy to contact through the whole process, linen pick up was easy and order was correct, food was great and served to guests timely. Food was large portions which is not typical for plated meals.

Everything went very smoothly for the wedding 6/14/24. Good communication via lots of emails, helpful with suggestions and service the day of the wedding was very professional and friendly. We weren’t able to do a tasting before hand so was a little nervous but food was delicious and portions were very generous. Would recommend the Beefs skewers and stuffed mushrooms for apps. We had chicken, brisket, scalloped potatoes, green beans and vegetarian stir fry, all were cooked perfectly! The dessert buffet was fun too. Thank you Distinctive Catering!

Overall great catering! They are excellent at dietary accommodations and are entirely peanut and tree nut free and most of their food avoids adding gluten or dairy if not needed, such as baked chicken without breading or green beans with margarine instead of butter. They even offer a special dietary restriction plate. So many guests said how appreciative they were for the dietary accommodations. DC let me put my own signs out in front of each food item listing if it had dairy or gluten which is nice for my guests. DC has tasting events and I highly recommend attending. They don't have all their food options but plenty of them.

Distinctive Catering was a preferred vendor for our venue and they were amazing! It was very easy to set up a tasting with them and it was set up buffet style, so it was great to get a way to see how our guests would experience the food as well. The staff was very friendly and communicated in a timely manner. We got so many compliments on how delicious the food was as well!

Distinctive Catering helped make my daughter's wedding perfect. We received so many compliments on the pasta buffet from guests. Our servers were great, and the girls in the office were easy to work with. I'd chose Distinctive again, no question.

Distinctive catering was a phenomenal vendor to work with. They offered a tasting for us that was very thorough and extensive with the options they offer. Leading up to the wedding day, communication was thorough and responses were very quick. They let us know everything to expect and how it will happen the day of. Setting up the day before our wedding, we had a few linens short and the napkins were missing. They hand delivered them to our venue on 2 separate occasions which was so helpful. On the wedding day, they arrived on time. The staff was dressed and appeared so professionally. They set up and took down quickly all while serving on time. We really appreciated their time and help because it made it go so smoothly on the big day!!

I am so glad we went with distinctive! A big shout out to Emily who was responding to emails daily at some points and even replied until 10:30 p.m. one night when we had some issues to figure out with our timeline. Everyone was so kind day of, I wish I remembered her name but the head caterer that night was one of the nicest women I've ever met On top of all of that food genuinely blew us away! The absolute only complaint I could have is not doing almost any paperwork until the week of the wedding had me a little panicked but that's more on me for being anxious and probably forgetting the timeline they told me for doing it all. But they were always responsive and so kind to my anxious and constant emails.

Distinctive Catering did a phenomenal job from beginning to end of our reception. The staff was very professional and helpful through the whole process. The reservation process was easy, the menu’s extensive, and the food was exquisite. I will retain their services again for my next event requiring catering. Many thanks to the entire staff.

Hands down the best food I've ever had at a wedding! And so many of our guests said the same thing. Very easy to work with to schedule a tasting, choose our menu and coordinate the little details for our day. The day of service was impeccable and very organized.

The food was so delicious the day of!!! We were told so many times by guests the day of and for weeks after how good it was! They also packaged up the left over food for us so we could take it at the end of the night which was amazing!!

Distinctive catering catered our wedding for about 150 people. They did a fantastic job with presentation for our charcuterie board and our dessert table. We chose their Ultimate Signature Buffet for dinner and OH MAN it was incredible! All of our guests were raving about how good the food was and were shocked that a buffet could be this delicious! We hardly even noticed their staff working while our wedding was happening. I can’t recommend them enough!

Working with Distinctive Catering was great from the food tasting to days after the wedding. They were easy to talk to and got back quickly when I had questions. We did the ultimate signature buffet and upgraded to full service which I am so glad that we did. Picking up linens and returning them was incredibly easy. The food at the wedding was so good! We got so many compliments on everything. There was some miscommunication and confusion around leftovers at the end of the night so I would recommend that you tell them right away on wedding day that you want to keep your leftovers. That was the only "issue" we had which isn't even a big deal. Kelli talked to me on the phone about it and said that is something they will improve on in the future so I appreciate them listening to my concerns and taking action. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them!

Distinctive has the most delicious food with excellent service. We had a buffet and our guests gave us so many compliments about how much they enjoyed the number of options and the quality. The cheesy broccoli especially was a big hit.

Food was absolutely delicious, we unfortunately did not get to try the appetizers due to photos but saw that all our guests were enjoying them. We had selected a plated sirloin steak and chicken marsala and they were cooked to perfection. The steak was just like we like it and it was so good. Distinctive catering was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! They were patient and understanding throughout the entire planning process. They were informative and quick to respond with any questions I had. When it came to wedding day Ellie was so sweet!! I didn’t have to worry about a thing, they were so on top of everything. Not to mention… aTHE FOOD. OH MY GOSH. The pot roast was delicious! The amount of food and options for the price is one of a kind. I have zero regrets. They really know what they’re doing and how to make your day smooth. Did I mention the food was to die for???

In general, we were very pleased with the catering services provided for our June 24th wedding. The entire process was straightforward and easy. We were able to contact the caterer 14 months in advance, shortly after booking our venue, and then book a tasting for the winter before. One critique we would give was that the tasting was a bit limited, and did not include any of the items from the menu we chose. We were set on the Italian Buffet prior to attending the tasting (which lets you pick 3 of approx 14 options) but were hoping for a chance to try some of these options before selecting. Regardless, we were pleased with the food we could try, and trusted the high quality would carry through for any item. We settled on the Chicken Parm, Sausage and Peppers, and Fettuccine Alfredo, along with garlic green beans, Cesear salad, fruit salad, and bread. Overall, the menu was very well received by our guests, including children. It was by far the best value we could have found at $16.75 a plate. I adored the garlic green beans and sausage and peppers, and my husband really enjoyed the chicken parm. We went with a buffet so that everyone could try a bit of what they wanted. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star review is because of a fiasco we had with the pasta, which was our only vegetarian main dish. We had requested, both in writing, and again over the phone, fettuccine alfredo. Now, on the menu list, fettuccine alfredo is not listed as a vegetarian option. I assume it normally has chicken in it. We explained both in person at the tasting and over the phone that we wanted a vegetarian version of it, if possible (ie no chicken). If that was not possible, no problem. We would have selected another option. We were told it was possible. A few days before the wedding, I called to confirm the menu. I again stressed we wanted meatless fettuccine alfredo, not the generic vegetarian pasta (pasta primavera), as our vegetarian option. On the day of the wedding, we ended up with the pasta primavera. Now, I will say, it was pretty good pasta primavera. Our vegetarian guests ate it happily, without complaint. However, my husband was pretty disappointed as fettuccine alfredo is his favorite meal. I just wish that DC would have told us explicitly that they would not modify menu options, so we could have picked something else, rather than have us expect one thing and receive the other. I would still recommend them as a caterer, because at the end of the day everyone loved the food. Just make sure you stick to the menu provided, and avoid any special request, regardless of if they tell you they can do it.

Starting off we had booked their package with linens for dinner as well as the call package. Moving back to the dinner package, we were told by Distinctive that our venue would not let them use their linens. Weeks of going back and forth it finally come out that Distinctive can’t get the linens they said they were able to because they were experiencing some supply chain issues getting the linens. Now I might now be familier with the other-side of the wedding venue planning but there was more than enough time for the caterer to get us the linens they charged us for. Also on the catering note. We told them we would need an allergy meal for one of our guests due to the gust’s allergies there likely wouldn’t be anything they could eat. Day of they didn’t have the meal that we requested for the person. And by the stars aligning one of our vegan options on the menu was good for them to eat, but the fact was they were asked to do one thing and could not follow through on that. Moving to the bar service, the bar staff day of the wedding tried to not set up a bar for cocktail hour. Luckily the day of coordinator was able to get them to set up. The bar tender then informed a guest who also happened to be the one who paid for the bar that, “you know, people can tip.” This was after they were already given their standard 20% gratuity there was cash in that person’s wallet to give them at the end of the night that was extremely generous. Overall the food was good for a wedding and most of the staff were pleasant with myself and my wife during dinner. However if I had to choose a Vendée again, I likely would not choose to go with Distinctive Catering again, they were difficult to work with and only added to the stresses on the day of the wedding.

We loved our experience with DC! They were very responsive through the whole planning process. The food was absolutely delicious, and we got many compliments on it the whole evening. Plated table service was prompt and orderly. We didn’t get to utilize this option, but they will donate extra food to a charity of your choice, or even box it up if guests would like to take some home. Many caterers don’t allow this anymore so this was so cool to know! Our bartender was amazing as well. An hour into the night she had memorized most guest’s drink orders and had them ready as they approached the bar. She went above and beyond. Most bar services water drinks down as well, and this was not the case for us which was great. Can’t recommend enough!

What a great catering business! If you want a bang for your buck, this is it! For the amount of money we paid, we got even more food and to top it off the staff was wonderful! Our wedding guests loved the food that was offered. Leading up to the big day, the staff was very helpful and easy to work with in choosing the right menu. I would highly recommend Distinctive Catering for your event!

Distinctive Catering catered our Welcome BBQ and our Wedding Reception. The food at both was AMAZING! Our guests couldn't stop raving about it. My 4-year old niece at four ears of corn bc they were so delicious. We also used their bartending service - perfection! Such a good value! Everyone was friendly and professional and barely needed anything from me (a real plus for a bride on her wedding day!). Their communication throughout the planning process was very prompt and they humored all my million questions. I would recommend them again and again!

Our daughter was married at Barn 1888 6/10/23. We had signed a contract with Distinctive Catering over a year in advance. Being our only wedding we have planned we were nervous and anxious about communication taking place via emails and new staff weeks before the wedding. We certainly didn’t need to be. The week before communication was spot on! The staff was fantastic and the food was excellent!! The service during dinner was exceptional. Can’t count the compliments we received. When your guests want seconds your doing something right!! They were one of our vendors we would definitely hire again.

The food was amazing. All of the guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The servers were fantastic and very attentive. They were however an hour late and wanted to set up during the ceremony which wasn’t possible considering the noise it would have made. Had they been on time like they said they would be and had they apologized or at least given an excuse for being so late I would change my rating.

We had a buffet through Distinctive Catering for our wedding, and we received so many compliments from our guests. All of the food tasted incredible and the staff/service was very professional. They were also very responsive leading up to the event.

We used Distinctive for our catering and bar service. They were by far the most affordable we found and had many great options as far as food. They did great on our wedding day and the food and bar service was amazing! Our only complaint was the communication leading up to the wedding. Certain details that we confirmed 10 months out from the wedding that we were told were "recorded" were never recorded and had to be reviewed a few weeks prior to the wedding. We also felt that there was some pushback on requests that we thought were very normal. As far as the bar service, Distinctive offers very traditional packages. If we were to do it again, we wish we would have had the ability to add seltzers to the bar offerings. However, we know this is a new trend and have been to other weddings that have not offered them. All and all, we would definitely recommend Distinctive Catering ​to anyone looking for an affordable quality bar and catering service!

We used distinctive catering for our food and bar services for our wedding. The service was exceptional and the communication between the team and us was awesome! It was very easy to get in contact with them and they have an online portal for all payments. We had buffet style food and it was delicious! The only thing that I wish they would’ve done differently is offer up information about their tastings. It was not made known to me that they had tastings until a couple months before my wedding. They told me that it is up to the customer to ask about tastings because they only hold 2 a year. Other than that they were phenomenal and I would recommend them to anyone.

We used Distinctive Catering for our bar services at our wedding and it was phenomenal! The communication was quick & efficient. The day of service was great! The two bartenders were incredibly friendly, quick to make drinks so the line was never long. I would definitely recommend Distinctive Catering.

My wife and I booked Distinctive Catering for our wedding and could not be happier! The planning process and communication was streamlined and stress-free. The tasting appointment was group-based and non-rigid which was enjoyable and very casual. All the food came out perfectly for the wedding and we had comments about the food, and heard abut the meatballs for days afterwards, some even attempting to make them from home days after the event. We definitely recommend Distinctive Catering!

Nothing but glowing reviews. The food was delicious, the staff were ON POINT and so wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed using this company and highly recommend for a cost effective but absolutely delicious option. 5 stars!!
