While the pieces came together beautifully for my wedding, and DRR was one vendor I knew I would not have to worry about in terms of professionalism, logistics, being on time, etc., I was surprised by how they conducted their business under the... circumstances of the current pandemic.
As a vendor in the wedding industry, I felt that they were the least accommodating and least personable when it came to flexibility, working with you, wanting to help and serve, extensions of kindness, etc. while planning an event so impacted by the pandemic. Examples of this include insisting on their usual unrefundable deposit of 50% despite the bride not even knowing if her wedding could end up taking place or not (with so little events happening and their pieces being available, I wish we could have reached an agreement about a 30% deposit, or flexibility with refundability if the wedding could not take place due to restrictions in place at the time), being inflexible with the deposit when the event had to be downsized and the amount of furniture originally projected was no longer needed, and finally, continuously following up on a <$15 balance the week leading up to the wedding.
I am so thankful for being able to have had my wedding, but as a bride that planned during 2020, there are noticeable differences you see between your vendors - the ones that are there for you, struggling with the current crisis yet working with you and doing everything they can to find mutually beneficial solutions, and those that are so bottom-line oriented that the human element is secondary, and graciousness is not given.
DRR has expertise, beautiful pieces, and is professional, however their response to brides during the hardest year of wedding planning could be improved.
