DJ Harsh

Working with DJ Harsh was a great experience from beginning to end - for our recent wedding, he handled sound for the entire night (from ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and an amazing night on the dancefloor, with everything in between). I found him to be very accommodating but also decisive when it mattered most. He provided lots of recommendations for both music and design that kept everyone at the event engaged, and kept the party going to the very end of the night. I routinely hear about how fun a night everyone had. In the months / weeks before the wedding and during the thick of it, I greatly appreciated his laid-back attitude and flexibility with just about all parts of the process. Apart from his skill and tactfulness as a DJ, he is also just a great person to know and maintain contact with - if you are looking for a DJ who you can also be open and comfortable exchanging ideas (and even drinks) with, he's your guy. Harsh is everything we wanted in an emcee and DJ - he's great on the mic and was great with our guests. He guided us through the process of picking our music and setting up our playlists. His sharp sense of humor and quick wit makes it easy to plan the evening's ambiance and different moods. He really knows how to get people to laugh and how to get them up and dancing.

We really enjoyed working with Harsh. Ours was a French-Indian wedding at a loft style venue in downtown Chicago with about 60 guests including kids ranging from 15 months to 10 yrs. We found Harsh through The Knot and he was the only DJ on any wedding website to have 5 stars and superlative reviews and we thought this is too good to be true! The common theme about the reviews was that he knew how to get the crowd moving and had experience with inter-cultural small weddings. He peaked our curiosity even more when his instagram profile had zero videos of his work like most other DJs. So we decided to meet him in person and he made it really convenient by meeting us by our neighborhood coffee shop. He made us feel comfortable with his warmth and sense of humor. It was obvious to us that he was going to appeal to our guests spanning 4 countries and 3 generations. Planning music playlists was a smooth process and we could rely on him to show up to the venue on time. Notably, we did not have any type of planner. Our venue staff, as we realized on the day of, was not very helpful and caused some confusion in tandem with our design vendor team that were delayed in their setup. Our caterer was high end and not new to the venue and yet there were mishaps with timing of food being brought out and cake cutting. Harsh went out of his way to coordinate with the kitchen to bring out our cake on time so we could get on with our first dance to keep the evening flowing. We are sure he did other little things through out the evening because he was vested in making the evening a success for us. He played all our favorites and we were pleasantly surprised to see all our guests taking to the dance floor that quickly! We would highly recommend giving Harsh a chance to impress you with his wit and music sensibilities.

DJ Harsh was incredible from the minute we met him to the end of our reception! We found him through our venues (Revolution Brewing) list of vendors. During the peak of COVID, our first connect was over the phone and we were convinced he was perfect within the first 2 minutes. Later, we met him in person for a drink and to discuss his plan and he gave us homework to come up with a few must play songs to get our vibe. On the day of our reception, he was incredible! He worked so well with the day of planner, making sure everything flowed throughout the night from our entrance to speeches to dancing. I had a fear with a smaller wedding (~70 guests) no one would dance but he kept people on the dance floor all night! We cannot thank Harsh enough for making our day so incredibly fun!

DJ Harsh was such a pleasure to work with from beginning to end! I was so beyond happy with how he DJ’d the wedding. He was professional, timely, reliable and he made sure we were on the same page prior to wedding day. Couldn’t have asked for anything more from him. DJ Harsh was such a key player on the successful execution of our wedding ( ceremony, cocktail hour and reception). He was meticulous and very detail oriented during planning - he listened to us and shared best practices to make sure the night goes smoothly. During the event, he was great - from the music to transitions to accepting appropriate requests and blending them in. We even had a mishap caused by the organizers: They messed up the cake cutting… Harsh really helped us to recover from it quickly and continue the event smoothly. Overall - Harsh curated a delightful experience for us that was executed with military precision. We strongly recommend him all couples out there!

DJ Harsh did a wonderful job at my wedding. He was very friendly, open, and personable. Wanted to make sure all our requests were forefront to make sure that our wedding was indeed our night. He reached out to us for a teleconference to make sure everything runs smoothly prior to our event. He was even kind enough to make last minute changes/additions to our music list during the night of the event to make sure my guests were having a great time as well. Totally recommend him without any reservations for your event.

DJ Harsh was THE best DJ that I have seen at any wedding, and I am so grateful that we had him on our special day. Leading up to the wedding, we had a couple of meetings about song requests, and he was a blast to work with. He has incredibly vibrant energy and has an awesome sense of humor. You can tell that he is extremely passionate about his work and gave us great recommendations for song choices (intro songs, cake cutting, final dance, etc). After giving him our song preferences and requests, he created the perfect atmosphere for our wedding through his musical decisions, and I could tell that he carefully selected every song to match the energy of the room. The mood of the wedding reception felt flawless, and I would attribute a significant portion to him. People were dancing the entire night, and even our guests who flew out of town gave nothing but the highest praises for him after the wedding and were asking about him. If you are looking for an excellent DJ, but also someone who is also extremely fun, professional, and has a fantastic personality, I 100% recommend DJ Harsh.

We absolutely loved working with Harsh throughout the entire process. He is super personable, hilarious and nailed our wedding day. Harsh orchestrated both our on-site ceremony and reception. We met a few weeks before our wedding date to talk about our music taste so he knew exactly what we would love and get people dancing. It was such a great day and Harsh was a huge part of that!

There are not enough ways to praise DJ Harsh! He was one of the best parts of our wedding and was absolutely phenomenal! Even my out of state guests wanted to see how they could get him out for their events! From the ceremony, to speeches, to the first dance he had everything organized, flowing and perfect the whole way through. And don't get me started on the reception! I could NOT get off the dance floor!! He played and I quote from multiple guests "bangers" all night long. He really listened to our music preferences and had a great mix that got everyone at the wedding up and dancing. He was professional the whole way through and genuinely fun to be around. If there is one vendor you MUST hire, it's 1000% DJ Harsh! JUST DO IT ALREADY!

Harsh is the kind of guy you invite to meet your parents because you think he'll make you look good in comparison, but then your parents end up loving him more than you. He's also an incredibly good DJ. He was prompt and coordinated aptly with our venue's staff. The timing of the music was impeccable. He was quick to adjust to the usual last-minute scheduling shenanigans of a wedding. His humor will leave you laughing throughout your time with him, and he's a lot of fun to work with. On top of that, his knowledge of the area led us to an additional cheaper vendor that worked perfectly for our vendor. I could easily see myself working with him again.

We worked with Harsh for our wedding last year and he was excellent. We really appreciated that he took the time to meet with us in person ahead of time and walk us through the day step by step. He is a great MC and managed the events of the day smoothly and made us feel like we were in great hands from start to finish.

Thanks to Harsh, our wedding was the event of fall! He was so easy to work with & he followed our instructions to a tee. The day of the wedding went smoothly starting with our ceremony through to the end of the reception. The dance floor was full & everyone danced until they were exhausted because Harsh was all about the music!

DJ Harsh was fantastic for our Indian-fusion wedding. He was easy to work with and communicate with from the beginning (over a year out from our wedding), and then in the last few weeks as it was time to really get everything finalized, he was great at helping us through the decisions that needed to be made. He executed perfectly on the day of achieving the vibe that we wanted at different points of the night and kept most guests on the dance floor all night! We got so many compliments about the music afterwards and both sides appreciated the balance of Indian/Western music. I wouldn't recommend Harsh for any wedding (fusion or not).

DJ Harsh was great at our wedding! The guests could not stop raving about him. He was super helpful with our music selection and kept the party going all night long. He’s super comfortable behind the mic and will put your mind at ease for that portion of the wedding. We didn’t have to stress about him being on time, his music selection, or really anything related to music and hosting. I would highly recommend Harsh 10/10.

Had the pleasure of seeing Harsh at a wedding prior to ours. My wife and I knew at that point that we needed him at our wedding. He was great to work with—with all the added stress and pressure of other wedding items, Harsh made things quite simple and enjoyable. He was very helpful with music selections, and has the creative ability to read the room and keep the energy up. My wife and I randomly ran into him at a wedding after ours and he continued to provide that “wow” factor. The personality and liveliness he brings to an event is unmatched. How does someone say thank you for all that you did for us? Harsh was the consummate professional and helped us navigate the entire wedding process (twice!) through a pandemic. John and I originally booked Harsh for June 2020 but unfortunately COVID shut that wedding down. We worked with him to reschedule our wedding. He was incredibly gracious in finding a new date and also assisting with a couple of new vendors we needed to find. We didn’t worry about a thing that night. We didn’t have to because we knew no matter what was happening, we knew Harsh would be on top of it. I have to say we will miss him terribly as we feel like he is now part of the family! Everything was perfect. Harsh is the best. Thank you for everything!

We hired Harsh for our wedding reception that was originally planned for June 2020 but had to cancel due to covid. Harsh was super kind and supportive through it all. We eventually quickly scheduled a reception/party for July 2021 (on our one year anniversary), and Harsh was able to do our event on just a few weeks notice. How awesome! The party really rocked thanks to Harsh's DJ skills. He combined our playlist preferences with our guests' vibe to create a truly fun and memorable evening. He's got a wonderful and friendly attitude and is very easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Harsh was our DJ for our 9/25/21 wedding and he was absolutely wonderful. We had booked him for our wedding which was supposed to be in 2020 and we unfortunately had to postpone it due to covid. He was completely understanding and helpful during the postponement. Once our new 2021 date was approaching he was so helpful in guiding us through the process and he made our wedding day so seamless. He kept us on time, kept the energy of the room up, and played all the music we hoped for. The crowd loved him! We really did not know what we were doing during the wedding planning process and harsh was a big help in making the day run seamlessly. Would absolutely recommend!

DJ Harsh was awesome! With a lot of other DJ companies, you talk to one person and then get assigned a random DJ right before your event. With Harsh, he is working with you the entire time. The whole experience felt very personalized. He also had really awesome suggestions and gave us really helpful tips for picking out music and a general vibe of the night. Once the music started after dinner, I basically didn't leave the dance floor. Our guests also loved Harsh and said our music made them dance way more than they usually do at weddings. I had so much fun. Highly recommend!

Dj Harsh has been one of the best people to work with through the entire wedding planning process. We had a covid wedding and pushed our ceremony from 2020 to July 2021 and he stuck with us throughout the entire time without any extra charge or additional requirements. He listened to what we wanted and made it the best night for us and our friends &family ! The whole day was absolutely perfect and Harsh just made it so much better. He’s truly invested in each couple he works with and makes it special and unique for everyone!

DJ Harsh is AMAZING!!!! Not only is he fun to work with, he really took the time to understand us and the vibe of our wedding and he absolutely nailed it. I met Harsh through my planner and we immediately clicked. Our large wedding was cancelled and we decided to move forward with a micro wedding. Harsh was not only willing to help us out, but he was genuinely excited and enthusiastic about our micro wedding / summer soiree. While Harsh is a talented and amazing DJ - we actually hired him to MC our wedding and handle our playlist. Harsh helped me curate a playlist that matched the vibe of our wedding, and he did it perfectly. I sent Harsh a mock playlist via Spotify and from there he organized it so that it would flow with our wedding. He also cut some songs down for us, he pulled music from an old mp3 playlist that we sent him, and he made it all work perfectly. At the wedding, Harsh oversaw the music and also MC'd like champ. The music set the vibe for our wedding and I have Harsh to thank. I recommend him a million times over and will hire him the next time we throw a party!

DJ Harsh was the only DJ on the recommendation list our venue provided and I can see why - he is the BEST! After our first meeting I told my husband, "he is my spirit animal." He gives it to you straight, asks all the right questions, and will guide you in the right direction if you start to go astray. We managed to squeeze in some punk rock for my husband, a little country, and plenty of great dance tunes from every era - and all our guests were on the dance floor non-stop! He also made it so we didn't need a day-of coordinator. He took time to get to know us through in-person meetings and truly listened to understand details about us and our preferences. We had a fusion wedding weekend with two ceremonies and receptions (Indian + Catholic), and Harsh knew exactly how to blend cultures and music in a way that made our evenings feel unique but cohesive. He also had plenty of recommendations for us based on his industry experience - everything from uplighting for our venue (which he provided at a lower cost than a design company) to suggestions for music (we went with his recommendations for both my Indian ceremony walk-out song and the idea for our father/daughter mother/son dance song). Our friends and family had a blast both nights, and even our other wedding vendors commented on how packed the dance floor was at every event - and that is thanks to DJ Harsh!! When planning our Indian fusion wedding in Chicago, we knew we wanted vendors who understood how to balance different cultures, and who could relate to our creative vision for our wedding. Right off the bat, we knew Harsh would be a perfect fit. He met with us in person to talk about his approach to his work, and to get an idea of our expectations and musical style. We hired him immediately, and from then on he was extremely attentive, communicative and easy to get a hold of. Harsh was able to point out and figure out lots of smaller details that we wouldn't have thought about -- like rigging our garden space to mic the priest during our ceremony. He's super familiar with Indian wedding customs as well as American, and his wild sense of humor makes him a great host. We highly recommend Harsh and will definitely hire him again for future celebrations.

Harsh is an absolute blast to work with! When you first meet him you feel like you've known him for years. He is extremely nice but also an encyclopedia of pop culture knowledge. We wanted to play a mix of pop music and Latin music and Harsh was well versed in both. If you're looking for a fun DJ who knows how to get people to dance he's your guy!

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about DJ Harsh. From beginning to end he was professional and most of all he was so much fun to work with. He had us laughing from beginning to end of the planning process and we are so thankful to him and for all that he did for us! Music and keeping people on the dance floor were two of our top priorities for the wedding and DJ Harsh delivered ten fold. He listened to our requests and really took the time to get to know us musically before our big day. From the ceremony to the reception and everything in between our wedding music was perfect and most importantly, it was so us. Harsh was wonderful! I've known him for over 10 years but up until I started meeting with him, I wasn't aware how thorough he is with his prep for your big day. I wasn't surprised though. Harsh asks not only what kind of music you enjoy, but asks you to produce lists of 15 which is: 15 Loves 15 Likes 15 Hates I didn't necessarily come up with 15 "Hates", it was more, these 4 songs are off-limits to be requested by my guests either because we did "hate" them or they held sorrowful significance in another part of our lives and didn't want them played. But of the 15 loves and 15 likes, he will make an effort to play them all interspersed throughout the reception. If he also does your ceremony, he has suggestions if you don't want the traditional music played. We used scores from movies and he was 90% behind our choices, he did suggest we find a different version of the final song of the ceremony, which we were happy to do. Finally, he will do whatever he can to get people dancing. Try as he might, sadly my guests were more interested in visiting with each other than dancing. I take total blame for that one. A few things in the timing of everything could have been shifted a little more. But also, some members of my family hadn't seen each other in a couple decades. But Harsh did try. I still had a blast, I spent most of the night dancing with one of my flower girls (when she wasn't photobombing the photo booth). One final thing, since we didn't do parent dances, we invited everyone to join us after the first 2.5 minutes of our first dance song. It's a long song and you can't not play it in its entirety but we didn't want to be out there alone that long.

Harsh was such an amazing DJ for our wedding in September. He was great to work with prior to the day of to coordinate a schedule, the type of music we liked, and how we wanted the night to go. He also asked us to make lists of must-play songs, maybe-play songs, and do-not play songs! Outside of being very available and professional throughout the process, he is also a joy to be around! We loved talking and laughing with him. We received so many compliments about our music and our guests were sure to let us know how much fun our wedding was which was greatly in part to the amazing music by Harsh! Highly recommend!!!!

I can not even describe how incredible Dj Harsh was for our June 10th 2018 wedding in Chicago! When we first contacted Harsh to inquire about his services, we were met with a man with a hilarious sense of humor. He set up a meeting at a local coffee shop, and by the end of our meeting - we hired Harsh. He went above and beyond as well with his services! We actually met him again at his house a few weeks before the wedding, and sat down and got everything finalized. He made everything so smooth and was extremely effective with communication. I had guests telling me throughout the wedding "I can't even sit down.. the music is so good!" Harsh is the man to hire! He made our wedding a success!

We hired Dj Harsh for our summer 2018 wedding and I couldn't be any happier we made that choice! From the beginning he was very accessible and quick to get back to us, always with a great sense of humor. I told my now-husband that I didn't only want a Dj but also a host. Someone who not only plays music but keeps the crowd entertained and narrates every step of the wedding. I also needed someone who could play music for the traditional American side of my husband's family and my very latin family and friends. Dj Harsh went above and beyond our requests and far exceeded our expectations! He made our event flow in a cohesive manner, making sure we stuck to the timeline while we sat back and relaxed. All of this while cracking jokes for our guests. He took a lot of weight off of our shoulders. He's also very knowledgable in terms of music and knows how to please the crowd. Many of our guests came to us towards the end of the night to let us know how much they loved our Dj. The dance floor was packed the whole night. I saw people dancing on that day that I've never seen dance in my whole life! All thanks to Dj Harsh!

DJ Harsh was truly phenomenal at our wedding -- from the first song, he had the dance floor packed and it stayed that way all night. In addition to being flexible/catering to your musical preferences, he is a fantastic MC and keeps the night running on track if there are things that need to be done in a timely manner (cake cutting, first dances, speeches, etc). He also played the music we selected during our ceremony/used his speakers for the vows and officiant, and he deserves the credit for how smoothly everything went. We recently went to a friend's wedding at which he DJed, and he rocked it yet again. His services are a bargain, book him while he's still Chicago's best kept secret!

Words cannot begin to describe how great an experience we had with DJ Harsh. I saw him DJ a friend's wedding in 2014, recommended him to another friend of mine in 2016, and then had the good fortune to hire him for mine last month. At all three there was no one who could resist the lure of the dance floor; the music was amazing, and he is a pro at reading the crowd. Working with him was also a breeze; he's as low touch or as high touch as you need him to be, and takes into account your loves (and hates!) when putting together a playlist, adding his expertise when needed. He integrated seamlessly with all our other vendors and kept the night on schedule as emcee. I highly recommend booking him before word gets out about how great he is and he'll be forced to raise his incredibly reasonable prices... your night is made or broken with your choice of DJ, and I would go with no one else.

Where to begin?! Working with Harsh was an absolute pleasure! My new husband and I are actually trying to figure out when we may need a DJ again! Neither of us could imagine why anyone would choose a large entertainment company, where you don’t know who you’ll get, over this very personable and knowledgeable man. Although we’ve never been through the process of finding and working with a wedding DJ, what a difference it made to have someone so supportive and professional. We met Harsh at a tasting event put on by our wedding caterer at our venue. We had an instant connection, knowing Harsh could very well be our DJ. After discussing details (availability, price, etc.) we knew Harsh was the guy for the job! Yes, we researched other DJs, it’s smart to shop around. But for the same price as a DJ from a large company where you never know you you’re going to get, Harsh was the obvious choice. Our first meeting was at a coffee shop as Harsh made it a point to get to know us (i.e., likes, dislikes, wedding details, theme, etc.). Future communications were via email or text. We also invited him to our new home a few weeks before the wedding to go through the final details. Harsh even made sure our fur baby, Saki, was attended to as she would be our flower girl. Although I’m very organized (Ok, I’m as ‘Type A’ as it gets...), I’m confident in saying our experience with Harsh would have been as flawless and perfect even if I was a hot mess express. He left no detail unmet, he truly cared not only about our big day, but about us, and I feel like we walked away with a new friend. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making sure our wedding day was unforgettable and a blast!

DJ Harsh made our reception an absolute blast! He was so great to work with leading up to the big day (taking into consideration our must plays, no plays, and giving us helpful feedback on the ceremony/cocktail hour flow) and man did he deliver. He is not a cheesy DJ, he plays what you like and did an amazing job reading the room all night long. I loved that he mingled around with us and guests, it made the night feel so intimate and fun. Not only were my husband and I impressed, but the dance floor was always full and several guests commented on how great his energy was. Highly recommend!

Going into wedding planning I was most worried about the music. I didn't want to splurge on a live band and wanted the diversity in genre that a DJ can bring. DJ Harsh did an outstanding job. He asks for a list of songs/artists that you especially love and dislike and then takes it from there. He clearly has extensive experience and has great suggestions with regards to structure the entire evening. I especially loved that he is not afraid to give his opinion/give feed back. For example, he suggested that certain songs I had picked out for the cocktail party actually be used during dinner. Everyone kept coming up to me during our night saying how much they loved the music. He was able to get everyone from our 4 year old cousin to our 84 year old grandfather dancing. As I quickly learned it is important to have a DJ who is flexible and knows how to adapt to the changes that occur during the reception. For example, when we had to move everything up by 15 minutes or do the father daughter dance earlier to accommodate the videographer's schedule, it was not a problem at all . On top of this he is incredibly professional and responsive. I appreciated that he attended the walk through meeting we had at the venue. It made me feel especially at ease. I cannot recommend him enough.

It is our utmost pleasure to write a review on DJ Harsh. He was recommended to us initially by our wedding venue at Ignite Glass Studio. From there we reached out to him and booked him in a heartbeat for our Indian/American fusion wedding. He was beyond welcoming, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor to keep the wedding planning light. He kept the wedding all about the bride and groom and helped combine our tastes in music seamlessly. We both LOVE music and it needed to be the most perfect part of the wedding day…and all parts of the wedding from the ceremony to reception went as planned! He helped me (the bride) pull off a surprise dance with my bridesmaids at the reception, and the best part- he kept the party going all night! The dance floor was not ready to clear out at all when it was time to leave due to the AMAZING music that DJ Harsh was playing. He gathered the vibe of the wedding well and made tweaks as needed, and at the end we had the best day of our lives. Highly recommended DJ…and we get to see him entertain the crowd at our friends’ wedding next month!

We used DJ Harsh for our wedding at City View Loft. He was fantastic to work with, laid back, prompt and has a great selection of music. It was nice meeting him from the beginning and working with him directly to know exactly who you're getting as your DJ for your big day. He kept the reception running smoothly as the MC and made sure everything stayed on track so we could just enjoy the day. He knew when to amp it up with the music and how to keep the crowd dancing all night. There are so many fond memories I have with different family and friends on the dance floor from our big day and I am so happy we chose Harsh to be a part of it!

Harsh was so much more than an outstanding DJ. The music was perfect, exactly what we wanted, but beyond that Harsh ensured that everything went off without a hitch. He has an incredibly warm, friendly, sarcastic personality that fit perfectly with our style and we received a number of compliments on how smoothly everything went. In fact, many people thought he was the day-of coordinator, but that just shows how he goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is in order. I surprised my husband with a serenade at the reception and Harsh helped every step of the way from getting me the background track, to figuring out the best place to start. He is personable, easy to communicate with and very responsive to emails. We absolutely loved working with Harsh and would recommend him to anyone looking for an incredible DJ.

Harsh was our DJ for our Hindu ceremony, civil ceremony and wedding reception all onsite at Greenhouse Loft, and he did each component flawlessly! We had both an indoor and an outdoor ceremony at one venue, and one guest even said "Your sound system is fantastic. EVERY word of the readings was crystal clear!" He had a lot of great song suggestions for us while planning, and he kept the dance floor packed all night, with all of guests commenting on how awesome he was. He was so fun to have at our party that night, with awesome suggestions that kept coming, and a fun attitude all the guests loved. Love Harsh! Highly recommend!

Harsh is one of a kind! And if you want to work with someone who is not only gifted at what he does, but a sarcastic and funny dude, you want Harsh! He answered every email with charm, wit and warmth. He is someone who takes his job seriously, but not himself. He remained true to our vision of our wedding while constantly trying to tailor the evening to what would get everyone up and booty shaking! I would use him for every event I have, and you should too!

If you don't book this guy you are crazy!! He was the best DJ who also helped keep my husband and I on track(coordinator) through the night. Love him!!!!!

DJ Harsh was referred to me by my caterer and we couldn't be happier that we chose him. From day 1 of meeting him, he made me feel at ease. He is a goof ball and says the craziest/most hilarious things, but at the end of the day... the man knows how to do his job and was very professional. Harsh knows music, from the classics to trendy/modern stuff. He has a lot of great ideas, but will also sit back and let you have control. Most importantly, he know how to read the dance floor. There was not a minute during our reception that the dance floor wasn't packed with people.

DJ Harsh was really good to work with. His music selection was vast, and he had great ideas of non-traditional wedding songs for our ceremony and reception. He used all the songs we asked for, and didn't play any of the cheesy ones.
