sons we wanted to hire him, along with the high acclaims of recommendation coming from our vendor, the Lawrence Country Club. We were not led astray. We were not disappointed. From our first in-person meeting with him a few days before our event, all of our nerves regarding the music and the sequencing were relieved. He was so knowledgeable, seen it all, knew how to improvise, knew how to communicate clearly with us, and had a great gameplay that he allowed us to tweak and make specifically tailored to us. It was perfect. The mood he set before the wedding, the sequence of the FOUR (4) songs we asked him to play at different times for just the entrance of the ceremony. It was lovely. Then to have all the perfect dance music, in a row, taking our requests, and layering them in a way that kept the crowd moving! It was a brilliant display of craftsmanship by someone that cares about his clients. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants peace of mind at their wedding, please, go with Scott, and let him do what he does best.

We were so excited to have Scott DJ our wedding! He came recommended by a friend and we loved meeting with him to talk about our vision for our special day! That’s why we were so sad when Scott was unable to make it to the wedding due to COVID....
However, even though he was sick, Scott still went above and beyond to make sure that my fiancé and I had a wonderful DJ at our wedding! He recommended Ron Colbert to fill in for him and we were so relieved to have someone reliable and recommended by Scott himself! alm and collected. He gave us an amazing list of songs to review to get us thinking about our wedding reception style.
We met with Scott wedding week with our list in hand and some extra songs that were our favorites (Scott thanked us for bringing our filled out paperwork, it makes for a great, stress free meeting going into wedding weekend!)
Scott asked for us to share our vision and he shared his. He had been the DJ at The Oread in Lawrence too many times to count. We discussed when he would setup and the night timeline. He asked us for conformation and our input. We told him we trusted him whole heartedly and that we knew he would have us dancing all night.
Wedding day, before the reception Scott greeted us as we had asked and gave us a quick little rundown of our reception introduction; we felt at ease. He played amazing Sinatra and friends songs while we enjoyed our meal and visiting.
For our first dance and father daughter dance Scott played our songs for the desired time (I gave him a start and stop time to play so we could keep the night moving).
My now husband and I are terrible dancers and had previously discussed cutting a song early with Scott. We gave him the head shake signal when we were thoroughly embarrassed by our own dancing; he seamlessly moved forward into the father daughter dance. No one but the three of us knew the song ended earlier that originally planned.
Our guests raved about our special night and our dance floor was filled with happy people moving and grooving all night.
Thank you, Scott for making our wedding reception a dream! We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ to share the night with us.

He was so helpful with dismissing tables for dinner, announcing any major events (cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, etc.), letting everyone know when the shuttles were coming/going, and always made sure that my husband and I were happy--checking in on us from time to time.

Scott Simpson provided the sound system and music for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our ceremony was pretty complicated. We requested specific tracks (and not just any tracks, traditional Indian music with song titles that were in a diffe...
rent language) to be played as certain times during our non-traditional Indian/American wedding, had two officiants as well as additional speakers who required mics, and had an almost 2 hour long ceremony. Scott was up to the task and everything went off without a hitch.
Scott also rocked the reception, providing the perfect balance of the hit music we're used to in the US as well as some Indian songs. The dance floor was full all night, all special request songs were played exactly when we wanted them, and we received a ton of comments about how fun our wedding was.
We found Scott through a recommendation from our venue so we had high expectations going in - and he more than exceeded them. I definitely recommend this DJ!
