It was an absolute gift working with DM Events & Design on our daughter's June wedding in East Hampton! During the year of planning, Dawn and Em exhibited deep knowledge of the in...
dustry, relevant vendors and the area. Their level of organization and wisdom around things we never would have thought of and their ability to anticipate scenarios was remarkable. They were unfailing upbeat and reliable and patient when indicated. Their design ideas and vision were gorgeous and they also demonstrated the ability to truly partner on aesthetics. We enjoyed every interaction with Dawn and Em and really looked forward to our meetings. It was hard to say "goodbye" and we recommend them wholeheartedly and without reservation. They are the best!
I hired Em and her team to plan my daughters wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last year. She was absolutely incredible and so hired her again for my son's wedding at 74 W...
ythe. Once again, she proved to be invaluable! Efficeinct, easy to work with and an absolute pleasure. She goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy. Both weddings were perfectly orchestrated and ran so smoothly! My only regret is I don't have any more weddings to make! Em is by far, the best planner around!!!
My husband and I had an amazing experience working with Dawn & Em of DM Events to plan our wedding. They are an incredible team - Dawn is a design guru and so helpful in coming up ...
with your dream wedding vision, down to the tiny details, and Em is the most organized person and fastest responder I've ever met. They were on top of the process the whole way and kept us on track but not overwhelmed with monthly to do lists (note, this was extremely helpful - there are a million things that go into planning a wedding, and trying to think about / plan for / do all of them at the same time will make you very unhappy. Their expertise on what to handle early and what you can wait on was invaluable). They made the wedding planning process enjoyable and saved us so much time, often anticipating the questions we'd ask or the concerns we would have. Most importantly, we always knew that our wedding would be amazing because we were in such good, experienced, capable hands. Totally recommend!
We worked with DM Events (Dawn and her lead coordinator Em) to create our dream June wedding in Brooklyn and they truly surpassed every expectation! From day one, we knew we found ...
the perfect partners to bring our vision to life, and the entire planning journey was such a seamless experience. Dawn and Em demonstrated unparalleled professionalism, organization, and expertise. Their attention to detail and ability to listen attentively to our wishes ensured that every aspect of our special day reflected our unique personalities and love story.
What sets DM Events apart is the ability to transform ideas into reality. Dawn's creative flair and impeccable taste was evident in guiding us to our design elements, from the beautiful florals to the thoughtful stationery. We have never received more compliments than we have from guests on these details (we'll never forget her floral bike installation idea)! The logistical challenges of planning a wedding in NYC can be daunting, but Em handled everything from hard-to-pin-down vendors to contracts to deadlines with grace and finesse. Em was also a total rockstar on the actual day, keeping our families and bridal parties on track!
Overall what truly made Dawn and Em stand out was the genuine care and support they provided us throughout our entire planning process. They were more than just our wedding planners; they became our confidants. To anyone in search of a wedding planner, we wholeheartedly recommend DM Events! They are an extraordinary team with expertise, creativity and genuine passion who will go above and beyond to turn your vision into reality.
*Creative, responsive, resourceful, lifesaving dream team*
We worked with Dawn and Em for our wedding and could not be happier. We reached out just after booking our venue, with ...
only ~6-7 months before our wedding date. The timeline was tight, but Dawn and Em made the process feel entirely manageable. They listened + responded promptly to emails; had great suggestions for florists, party rentals, DJs, invites; followed up when necessary; anticipated problems and were beacons of calm and support on the day-of.
Their methodical, supportive, creative, and resourceful wedding planning allowed us to focus on celebrating our love--and not get bogged down by the small things--on our big day.
I cannot recommend working with DM Events highly enough!
Working with Em and Dawn was easier than we could have ever imagined. They are very personable and it is very easy to connect with them, which was evident with our very first call...
with them. They were very organized and helped up stay on track for the wedding. They were very easy to get a hold of and responded very promptly to any questions that we had. They coordinated with all of our vendors and made sure the day of was running smoothly. They were always willing to go above and beyond; Em even tied my bow tie for me!!!
Dawn and Alex at DM Events are *rockstars*. We worked with them on full wedding planning and design for just under a year and the entire experience was wonderful. I always felt lik...
e we were organized, on track, in communication, and having fun!! Every vendor they recommended or helped vet was incredible. Our wedding vision and size changed quite a few times along the way and they just rolled with it and us in the best way. On the day of our wedding, I couldn't have felt more confident that they had everything under control and would handle anything that came up. Our day was perfect and magical and at the end of it I left with a husband and two new friends in Dawn and Alex :)
DM Events planned our 200-person black tie wedding at Brooklyn Botanic Garden this fall. From the moment I first spoke to Dawn Goldsmith, I felt at ease. She is a true visionary an...
d a powerhouse. Dawn kept not just me, but my husband, our families and our budget(!!), on track from our very first phone call to the end of the wedding night. She and her team are kind, thoughtful, sensitive to their clients’ preferences, and extremely responsive.
Putting aside all of the variable twists and turns that came with the era of COVID-weddings (which were navigated with ease), Dawn designed and planned an absolutely picture perfect event that exceeded all expectations. She has impeccable taste and a way of articulating and evolving my vision better than I could. Her design-minded approach is something that was really important to me when selecting a planner – no detail too small!
Regarding the day of, Dawn’s team is a well-oiled machine. If there were any hiccups (there weren’t), neither I nor my guests would have been any the wiser. It was smooth sailing. My family and I had guests approaching throughout the wedding, as well as a flood of texts and calls following the big day, saying things like “This is the nicest wedding I’ve ever been to” and “the quintessential New York City wedding”. Literally, the perfect day.
Dawn Goldsmith is a total pro and a blessing to work with.
We loved working with Dawn and her team. Having spoken with quite a few planners before we found Dawn, Dawn stood out as really having the whole package. First, she brings to the t...
able top-notch organization, communication and planning skills—from the big picture to the smallest details (particularly important for us as our wedding was at home, so we had to bring in absolutely everything down to fancy porta potties!). She’s got a killer design sense and had an uncanny ability to grasp our vision and make it concrete; she really cared about making the wedding a personal reflection of us as a couple. She’s unfailingly professional and an oasis of calm. She’s very experienced and has great connections with a variety of vendors, all of whom were great. She was respectful of our budget. She’s also down to earth, easy-going and flexible, and just generally lovely and fun. She held our hands through what could have easily been a stressful process for my husband and me. The wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of, and more. A friend of mine summed it up best when she told me that she and her husband wish they could get married again so that they could work with Dawn! I could not recommend her more highly.
This company was awesome! Super professional, thorough, proactive, creative and fun to work with.

ing, and Dawn and her team kept my wife and I calm and informed. They are all world class communicators.
Their support and execution on the day of our wedding made us capable of focusing solely on having a great time.
Definitely work with them if you have the opportunity to.
It's hard to sum up just how amazing it was to work with Dawn and the entire DM Events & Design team. Throughout our wedding planning process, Dawn kept us on track, was exclusivel...
y kind, patient, and empathetic, and despite how jam packed the 2021 wedding season was for all wedding vendors, we always felt like a priority. When our wedding weekend was finally here, Dawn went above and beyond what I imagine is 'typical' for a wedding planner. She and her team handled EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, and we can't thank her and her team enough for alleviating any sort of stress that could have taken away from our special day. The DM Events & Design team drove to at least 10 different hotels across NYC and Brooklyn to deliver our welcome bags, which they also put together for us, and that's just one example. We trusted Dawn completely and boy, did she deliver! Working with DM Events & Design was hands down the best decision we made throughout our wedding journey. We would say weekly while planning that we would've been lost without Dawn, and it's so true! I would recommend DM Events to any couple without hesitation. Dawn's and her team's professionalism is unmatched and we're so grateful that they played such a huge role in the happiest day of our lives. Thank you for everything Dawn, Sophia, Eric and the rest of the DM Events & Design team!
It’s not common for me to write reviews, and even less so for wedding websites given my role as the groom. That said, I was groom-zilla’ing for much of the wedding planning process...
, so it was only appropriate for me to have a hand in this review. TLDR: if you’re getting married and are based in the NY area, hire Dawn.
Even if you’re unsure that you need a planner, hire Dawn. This is how we felt when we started. We had already locked in our venue, and I had spreadsheets on spreadsheets with everything (or so I thought) I needed to plan and execute a wedding, and all we “needed” was a Day Of / Month Of coordinator. Boy, was I wrong. I won’t summarize everything here, but simply put, there is a LOT that goes into not just wedding planning, but also the execution of said wedding. There are many things that you will miss or simply not know about. I’m talking design, logistics, details, and etiquette. Problem solved once you have hired Dawn and her amazing team (we signed on for the partial planning and design services, but we would have signed her up from the very start of our wedding planning process if we knew then what she could do!).
There are so many things I have thanked (and would like to continue to thank) Dawn for, from the months leading up to the wedding and the night of the wedding. From nearly missed deadlines to red wine stains on my now-wife’s dress during our rounds (that are thankfully no longer there), Dawn was FLAWLESS in having a helping hand. We cannot thank her enough, and we are so happy that we had her on our side.
Dawn and her team were an essential component in executing our perfect day! She beautifully brought to life my floral visions for the ceremony and reception. Most importantly, she ...
kept everything together and organized as my day of coordinator! I didn't have to think of a thing on my day, and I could not be more grateful for that!
We used Dawn as our month of planner, and I have to say it was one of the best things we did for the wedding. She was so much more than just a month of planner - she answered all ...
of my questions in the year leading up to the wedding, and at every step made me feel better leading up to the day. She did an amazing job coordinating all of our vendors, putting together the timeline, and even bringing all of our items to our venue the day of. She was the best at taking the stress from the month out away! When our venue coordinator left the company right before the wedding, Dawn immediately swooped in and made sure we knew things would be taken care of. The day of, Dawn was there from start to finish making sure everything went perfectly (and if anything didnt, I had no idea!) It is so clear that Dawn cares about her clients and her work, and we were so happy with her and her team - they were wonderful!!!

r for my wedding! She made things so easy so all I had to do was make choices to make the perfect wedding. I recommend her to everyone I know. If you're between planners just call and talk to her. You'll be overwhelmed immediately with how thoughtful and sweet she is. I love her so much. She was the reason our wedding was exactly what I wanted.

ong distance – the most stressful thing to do ever! But as soon as we hired DM, the stress was lifted! I worked directly with Dawn and assistant planner, Jorge. Dawn was super communicative and really listened to our opinions and ideas, which Dawn then took and made much better. She made clear deadlines of when certain items needed to be done and really helped us stick to our budget. The day of the wedding was where Dawn’s capabilities as a wedding planner truly shine. She and Jorge took care of every last detail and there was no way that our wedding would've gone as well as it did without Dawn and Jorge's help. On top of all that, they are just fun to work with. Dawn truly cares about her clients and making sure they enjoy their own events, from the start of the planning process until the last guest leaves the reception. If you are looking for a wedding planner, look no further than DM!

ay. She is warm and just has an amazing personality, perfect for when little things didn't go quite right on the day of the wedding. She is full of positivity.
Our guests have told us, on multiple occasions that our wedding was beautiful and… more importantly FUN! We could not have done it without the help of Dawn and her team.

re wedding planning process. She and her team took care of every detail from helping me pick our location to helping us manage our guest list, vendors, design, menu and timeline - all while keeping us within our budget. Thanks to Dawn & her amazing Team, our Wedding Day (and the whole week leading up to it) was more perfect than we could dreamed!!! One of best decisions we made on our Wedding Day (besides saying "I DO!") was having DM plan it!

vided us with was over price range. They made us feel like we couldn't get a quality vendor for what we wanted to pay. Couldnt give us a photography suggestion for under 8,000.
On the day of the weren't even there. Sent a very ineffective girl to do their job. She didnt do much. Hung in the background and had to be asked numerous times to go find people or get bouquets.
In the end we didn't use any of their suggestions and had a wonderful wedding!
