DNE Events

We hired Evan for our wedding at Piedmont Community Hall in Oakland and he did a great job. He arrived on time, set up everything nicely, and was very sweet to all of the guests. His props are of great quality and very fun! We got a shimmery gold back drop which looked amazing, and I have to say that the machine he uses is extremely high quality, and the lighting is perfect! Taking photos with all of my friends and the bridal party using the photobooth was one of the best parts of the evening! Evan is incredibly responsive, and he'll work with you on your budget. Guests have the ability to email themselves the photos once they are finished, and Evan will usually post up the photos on the DNE FB page after the event is done as well.

We hired Evan to DJ my daughter's bat mitzvah at the Presidio Log Cabin, and he was fabulous: professional, kind and flexible. In the weeks leading up to the event, he helped us stay on track by reminding us to submit songs and choose a photobooth template. About a week before the event, he agreed to change the schedule of our contract and come early to set up, leave for 90 minutes, then come back for the original contracted time---all for a minor additional fee. His photo booth was really nice. There was a shimmery gold curtain that was low-fuss, pretty AND looked nice from the back side. There were good props, and a very nice person working the booth patiently as kid after kid and drunk adult after drunk adult went in front of the camera. As a DJ, he had a great read on our crowd. We weren't really sure what to expect in terms of timing---would the kids want to dance the whole time? Not at all? He accommodated based on our guesses and then later based on what was actually happening. We had quiet music at the PERFECT volume during lunch, which ramped up to pop favorites for the kids who danced for quite a while after dessert, which turned to a mix of dance tunes that appealed to the adults who hit the floor for the final half hour. I had not thought of the hava nagila, and he told me on the morning of the event that he would have it ready if we decided we wanted it. He has also made the photos available after the event. He was truly ready for all our needs. Finally, in addition to his professional preparation and execution of duties, he was just a really nice guy who was easy to work with and reassuring. You would think such service would be the most expensive option, yet he was the best-priced DJ I interviewed (by far). Thanks, Evan!
