last September of 2017, and was looking forward to hearing back from you; this is our first communication since then. To address the above points, please see my responses below: 1) Accidental CC to the Venue: 100% my fault. This was an unfortunate mistake on my part and I have apologized for this a few times. I definitely always check and re-check all emails since this learning experience. 2) Missed Luncheon: We did not ask you to miss any family/wedding function. We asked if there was someone else that would be able to meet us at a different time if for some reason we ran late. Since we were driving from Connecticut to Vermont -- a four and a half hour drive -- I wanted to ensure there was a backup plan in case traffic or unforeseen situations happened along our road trip. We left CT at 6AM the morning of your rehearsal and arrived at 11:30AM. A half an hour before your scheduled luncheon. We were never inconvenienced by your schedule. We made every effort to be there by the 11AM time as discussed, but unfortunately were a half an hour late due to traffic. We communicated with you and Eric via group text the entire ride to keep you updated on our ETA. 3) Staffing: As per your signed contract, you were included one (1) Ceremony Coordinator/Lady in Waiting at your ceremony rehearsal to assist with the ceremony coordination, one (1) Planner(s) and one (1) Assistant(s) present the day of your ceremony and one (1) Planner(s) and three (3) Assistant(s) present at your entire reception. A total of four (4) dGE Team Members would be present at your wedding. There is never any need for four team members to direct and execute a ceremony rehearsal and setup the night before. We would have needed to charge you for the additional team members' hours, plus travel to Vermont, and we kept in mind you were on a limited budget. Two team members arrived Friday morning, including myself, and the other two arrived Friday evening to be ready for Saturday. 4) Additional Tasks: It is also stated in our contract, as well as many phone conversations, that because of liability we cannot assemble and install any lighting for any event. We work with lighting companies specifically for this reason. In light of the situation, we did it anyway to help out, as well as personally write out all of the escort cards and table numbers that we were told would be completed before our arrival. 5) Leaving the Rehearsal: At around 7PM that evening, after we held a run through of the ceremony rehearsal as well as assist in setting up your Welcome Dinner, we asked one of the Moms if it was okay for us to leave and get dinner since we hadn't eaten since 10AM that morning. She was very pleasant and agreed that we could go, and even offered a few restaurants in the area for us to check out. If anyone had told us we couldn't leave, we would not have left. In addition, we came back after our dinner and walked through the site to ensure all was cleaned up properly as well as light all the tiki torches, etc. for the After Party. 6) Day of Setup: As per the timeline, we were scheduled to setup the reception space at 12PM. This was discussed the night prior with catering staff. This gave us six (6) hours to set up your table decor which we could not set up earlier as the catering staff was arriving at noon. We needed the tables, chairs, linens, etc. ready to go to be able to set the tables. We completed this in about three (3) hours and assisted with the bridal party and ceremony with the time left over. We did get a few panicked text messages at 9AM that morning and we explained that we weren't scheduled until 12PM -- nevertheless, we arrived at the reception space at 9:30AM to assist the Moms, Aunts, etc. Although we were physically at the hotel for two nights, please understand this does not by any means, mean that we are on call 24/7. We have a timeline and scheduled setup times because I need my team to be rested and fed so they can perform the best they can on the day of. 7) Sunday Brunch: We are very apologetic regarding our casual dress for your Sunday brunch. We definitely were not trying to offend anyone. At this time, we were off the clock and were merely coming in to say goodbye and grab a quick breakfast before our trip back to CT. We do very much apologize for offending anyone. 8) Appetizers: I don't know anything about the Groom asking for a plate of appetizers but I am horrified to hear that any of my team members would roll their eyes at any client or their guests. I can assure you, this was spoken about and will never happen again. I will be sending you a direct email with more detail to address your concerns above and hopefully we can make this situation a bit better for you and Eric. Thanks again for your thoughts.
