I can not say enough great things about The DoubleTree!! My husband and I were planning our wedding from NYC and Nikki did just about everything to keep us at ease! She was even answering emails while on maternity leave. We had planned to have our wedding on the Garden Terrace bur on the morning on the wedding it was pouring, between Nikki and Sal they were able to help us feel comfortable with our back up plan. Thankful we did not need it! Nikki and Sal were very accommodating when it came to our diy projects. They provided a room for assembly and then their team set up all of the centerpieces and decorations. Our wedding was a total of 148 and it fit perfectly in the Grand Ballroom. We were worried that it would be too big for our wedding. Our day was truly PERFECT thanks to the DoubleTree Binghamton!
We got married at the DoubleTree on January 19, 2018. The hotel is updated, modern and clean, definitely the best hotel in the Binghamton area. We literally cannot say enough about how wonderful the entire staff was! The food was incredible and the banquet staff worked hard to ensure the entire day ran smoothly. Nikki, the catering sales manager, was a DREAM to work with. She returned our emails promptly, worked to find solutions to any issues we had and truly took a lot of the stress out of the planning process. Sal, the Banquet Manager, was AMAZING - he worked so hard the night before and day of our wedding to ensure that every detail was perfect and that our guests were well taken care of.
Thank you, DoubleTree staff, especially Nikki, Sal and Adam for creating the perfect wedding for us!
We had a very good experience working with the DoubleTree. The food was delicious, and the space was beautiful. Sal, the banquet manager, is as knowledgeable and professional as they come. He was extremely helpful in orchestrating our big day. Our wedding coordinator changed twice during the course of our wedding planning, but everything still want smoothly. We were slightly disappointed that she was not available the day before our wedding when we were in the ballroom decorating. Additionally, I thought there could have been better communication between her office and the front desk staff. Upon checking in to the hotel (to the bridal suite, no less) the day before the wedding, the staff asked me why I was staying with them. I would have thought they'd known I was the bride. All in all, the whole event went splendidly, and our guests had a marvelous time.
I am so glad our wedding ceremony and reception were at the DoubleTree in Binghamton! While there was some turnover during the planning phase, they never skipped a beat and everything went off flawlessly! They're very flexible and with the a-la-cart option I was able to stay on budget, which was very important to us. I highly recommend them!
My wedding was the perfect day and it all starts with where it was located!! The doubletree is a perfect venue and the staff was amazing! They were making sure everything was perfect for us!
Over promise and under deliver.
It's a beautiful venue, and the food was tremendous. However, the staff made promises to us that weren't kept at the reception. They also verbally committed the venue to us for an additional 3 hours multiple times over the course of a year and 3 days before the wedding attempted to rescind that verbal agreement. Needless to say it was disturbing that we had to deal with that so close to the wedding.
If you choose to work with the Double Tree you need to get every commitment and promise in writing, with the approval of their superior managers on top of the sales representative you deal with. That way if they do not deliver on a promise you have something in writing to get restitution with after the reception.
There are several complaints from other couples on other websites voicing the same concerns. Learn from our mistakes!
We had a horrible experience with Double Tree. It started when we see aside our Hotel Blocks, and our reservation and Bride and Groom was never completed.
We discovered the error when my fiancé attempted to check in after our rehearsal dinner.
The issue was poorly handled and one mistake lead to another. We had informed the hotel staff numerous times that we would be coming back to the bar, and they must not have believed us because we were the 2nd wedding there, and found one helpless bartender. All of our guests ended up leaving to go drink at another bar.
I wrote a detailed email to the Hotel and received a quick reply, and was granted my request to vacate the bill. We were also given a free weekend at the hotel, which is not worth the trouble we had!
I am waiting to hear back from Corporate, after sending my email almost 10 days ago...
If you are going to use this hotel, get everything in writing and confirmed by managers.
Our Bridal Suite for two nights would have been $380, if we had a nice experience.
