sh. First, the roomblock code was not activated properly, and we had to find this out from our guests that it wasn't working. Second, we asked to be informed once the block was reaching capacity so that we could add more rooms; this never happened. Again, we had to hear it from our guests that the code was not working; this happened 3 times times. I made welcome bags for our out of town guests and gave them to the hotel the day before people were arriving, and they were supposed to be distributed upon check in. However they were not, and again, I had to find this out from our guests. I had to ask the staff MULTIPLE times to make sure they were handed out and each staff change over the next 2 days told me that they were not informed of the bags, which again falls back on the same manager. who was in charge of the roomblock, not following through and letting the check-in staff what to do. Lastly, an out of town guest of ours, who had just drove over 6 hours to the hotel and who had a reservation, was turned away due to 'over-booking' and was forced to stay at another hotel that night. Like, I said the actual wedding event went off great and if you are going to get married there with that being your only intention; the DoubleTree is a beautiful event space. Just be warned that the room situation may be a different experience.
