I signed up for the most expensive package deal with the Doubletree for our wedding of 150 people. My wedding coordinator prior to the wedding was amazing. She was so detail orient...ed and truly catered to our needs.
Unfortunately the execution was terrible, there were several issues at the wedding because our wedding coordinator did not stay. In the beginning, the staff did not give out my welcome bags to the several guests that had flown in for our wedding. Total waste of money.
We had a russian-american wedding. Upon walking down the aisle I noticed that the $250 I spent on the backdrop was the complete wrong one! Could have gotten over that one, but then it got worse. My mother in law had ordered $1500 worth of Russian appetizers for cocktail hour. The only served half of the food because they claim they "forgot" about the food, leaving the appetizer plates completely empty at cocktail hour. We had paid for a private bridal attendant during cocktail hour, and NOONE ever came to our room. We had no drinks at all, very few appetizers, no one to tell us where we were supposed to go, no organization, and all of the props that I had bought for the pictures were never brought by the bridal attendant. My poor photographers were trying to help us! This put us 1 hr behind! All our table numbers were completely wrong in our reception, leaving the bridal party in the farthest corner of the room away from us (thank god my father caught this as he was searching for staff).
The banquet managers had asked the Dj's to play during cocktail hour instead of the FREE house music we requested and was in our contract. The Dj's charged us an extra $300 for this.
During the ceremony, I had bought a very expensive engraved memorial candle. It was not at the ceremony! The banquet managers stated "we think it got broken." No apology here.
When dinner was served instead of the chicken picatta we had paid for, there was a plain piece of chicken with NO SAUCE and very burnt brocolini. Very disappointing considering the food was the most expensive.
Unfortunately, at the end of the night despite stating that I wanted to keep all my decorations my bridal staff had taken my bridal bouquet (with my sash from my dress), expensive pearls that I had bought, and bathroom gift baskets I had made with several perfumes and colognes.
We met privately with the banquet managers after the fact, and to be honest it did not seem like they cared at all. We spent 20,000 just for the venue space, choosing this venue over several others. The banquet managers just simply stated we go over all the contracts prior to the events, and commented on the not having chicken picatta as "well the chef said the chicken was cooked fine." Not very apologetic towards us, just wanted to get us out the door. There were several other issues, but I would need alot more space for this.
