I am astounded at the measure of excellence and professionalism of the DoubleTree Ontario (DTO) banquet staff. My family and I hosted an intimate memorial service for my great-grandfather at their facilities and were deeply impressed, firstly, by their magnanimous hospitality and for their thorough care. From the very genesis of our planning, liaising with Rebecca and Jacqueline to coordinate a very last-minute affair was a breeze. My primary contact, Jacqueline, did an incredible job of answering my myriad of questions and making every accommodation possible. My grandfather was a decorated veteran who served several terms across two separate departments and Jacqueline ensured that we could honor his military service with all the nuances that that entails. Likewise, it was important to me to be able to livestream the ceremony so that other family members could participate without physically attending. Mike, our talented AV point person, supported my tech needs and had incredibly vast knowledge in production (i.e. audio, visuals, camera, software, gaffing, lighting, etc.) which made accomplishing my livestream goals easy. Cindy, was our banquet lead on the day of the ceremony and must have had several extensive conversations with Jacqueline because she knew what I needed and then some! At several junctions during set-up, Cindy would even predict things we needed and, like magic, those elements would appear! Cindy was kind, thoughtful, prompt and overwhelmingly accommodating. Just before we began, I needed a quiet moment to orient and prepare myself and Cindy spotted me and offered me a quiet and comfortable space (I didn’t even ask!). The banquet team was equally as talented. They supported all of our various set-ups and made my family feel very cared for. Andrew and Sonja were a part of our wait staff and were patient and ready at a moment’s notice to provide what we needed. The meal, itself, was delicious and the menu offered a beautifully-plated and diverse group of foods with vegan and vegetarian options to boot. The team truly made my coordination work easy – as memorials go, it’s encouraging not to have to use too much brain power on planning and I was overjoyed to have all of our needs met. As an extension of the DTO leadership team’s excellence, the entire team was immeasurably thorough, professional, and gifted. Thank you, Jacqueline, for orchestrating a masterful event that honored my grandfather and enabled us to celebrate his legacy. The day was filled with fun, fellowship, and joy. Thank you DoubleTree Ontario for supporting my family with egregious magnanimity and excellent service as we recognized and celebrated the life of my grandfather!
