The Doubletree really did an amazing job at making my day very special. The Director of Catering, Rachel was amazing! Her and her staff did great at decorating the rooms for the ceremony and reception. Everything was amazing from the food, to drinks and even the entire staff at Doubletree.
I was a 2020 Covid bride who had to postpone my wedding several times leading up to our new date in 2022. From 2020 to 2022, I had worked with the DT to change schedules, re-review our wedding package, select vendors, etc... and working with Danielle from DT had been the best experience! She was so responsive, answering any and all questions I had via email or phone. I planned my own wedding, and she made it so easy! If I needed floor plans, she sent those over with a layout of each room for guest table and decor set-up. If I needed photos of our bridal suite, she had those on-hand as well. If she was busy or OOO, she was transparent about communications so I was never waiting too long or unexpectedly.
Overall, the wedding packages for the DT are inclusive of many amenities and reasonably priced for being a downtown Pittsburgh wedding venue. I loved that our cake from Bethel Bakery, guest table flowers from One Happy Flower Shop, wedding night stay stay, etc. were all included (it depends on which package you pick). We especially loved having access to the Presidential Suite and the Vue Suite, two separate areas to get ready before the wedding. This allowed us to get the "getting ready" photos and First Look pics (at Mellon Green) so easily. For our plated dinner, we went with chicken, fish, or vegetarian options for our guests, and received so many compliments. In addition, we had a cookie table and photo booth, which fit perfectly in the space. The late night snack of pierogies went so well with our "Pittsburgh themed" wedding. If you go with the DT, the only downsides or things to consider are timing of events near the venue. We unfortunately picked a weekend where there were 2 Penguins games, so parking became an issue (some guests had to park at the Steel Tower next door). Overall, our wedding was well worth the wait and we loved how our day turned out!
We had our wedding at The DoubleTree over the summer and were lucky enough to still have Shawniece available to us. I was shocked to read in recent reviews that she is no longer there as she was the main reason we booked our venue here and a key resource for us as we were wedding planning. With the help of Shawniece and Trevor we had an entire weekend of celebrations from rehearsal dinner through to farewell brunch. All of these events were wonderful. Our guests continue to rave about how great of a time they had and how much they enjoyed the food.
This review is for Shawniece, who made our wedding day everything we could ever ask for and more! We are shocked reading these recent reviews stating that Shawniece is no longer with the DoubleTree. She was essential to our entire wedding process! She promptly answered the million emails and phone calls we sent, and was so accommodating and happy to help us in any way. We were so at ease knowing she had everything under control and seemed like she had done this a million times before. Our wedding day was amazing and I couldn't imagine doing it without her and the DoubleTree!
Besides a list of issues with hotel rooms and the lack of help we received.... it was a wonderful wedding.
However, if we could change one thing (again, besides The Double Tree’s poor customer service) would be the wedding coordinator, Mary-Clare.
The entire experience of having a FANTASTIC coordinator up until a month before the wedding (she was replaced with Mary-Clare) was not okay.
From the start, Mary-Clare was unresponsive and it was necessary to send at least two follow up emails/calls for anything at all to get her to respond. We also didn’t even know Mary-Clare was our new coordinator until I stopped hearing from our original coordinator. There was no communication to let us know.
When playing cookies the day before, she extended our time there by almost 2 hours because we had to wait on her to do things that should’ve been prepared ahead of time.
The day of, when the bridal party arrived, she was no where to be found. We had to find a maintenance man who helped us get access to the room we needed. Then, when it was too late, Mary-Clare texted the bride and was then late again to bring us all down to the ceremony.
If it wasn’t for our DJ and photographer (and various guests) stepping in to pick up her slack, we can’t imagine what would’ve happened.
Finally, and possibly worst of all, Mary-Clare left the wedding for the night without telling anyone. We weren’t instructed on what to do with the venue room, decorations, etc. So as a result, the bride and groom were frantic and upset trying to get other hotel staff to help (and that was a challenge in itself.)
The bottom line is, what should’ve been stress-free because we have been planning for more than a year, was complicated and frustrating during the wedding day because Mary-Clare either didn’t care or wasn’t prepared.
The food was great and the venue was beautiful, but brides can also find that with a kind and reliable coordinator. So I recommend brides keep that in mind when venue shopping and considering the Double Tree.
Our wedding couldn’t have turned out any better!! We did have a change in coordinator which was Shawniece who was amazing then Holly took over! Holly made sure our wedding day would turn out amazing with our vision in mind! She was very attentive and responsive to any questions we had! I would recommend having your wedding reception at the doubletree downtown!
The DoubleTree made our wedding day so simple. While it did come as a shock in mid-August when we found out the Shawniece was no longer with the DoubleTree and definitely panicked - but Mary-Clare and Holly really helped ease my nerves. Not only was the DoubleTree a central and affordable venue, it was also a one-stop shop. Our guests could stay onsite in our room block, the cake and flowers were included in our package, and staff was able to customize different things to suit our needs. Shawniece made the planning portion of our wedding so easy, but Mary-Clare really executed everything perfectly! I give Mary-Clare so much credit for our big day. I did not have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day - she took care of it all.
Thank you to the staff at the DoubleTree who helped us have the best day ever! A special thank you to Mary-Clare, Holly, and Trevor who made sure that our wedding reception was perfect. Chris and I, as well as our guests, had a great time! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the environment was so fun.
I was in the same boat as Lakisha E., as reviewed on 8/20/19. I had worked with the wedding coordinator, Shawniece, for 9 months planning our wedding at the DoubleTree from Washington State. We heavily relied on The Knot to find our wedding venue and vendors and decided on the DoubleTree due to their awesome reviews and ratings, which specifically mentioned Shawniece Evins several times as being the true catalyst to making their wedding a hit. It was true; Shawniece was absolutely amazing to work with and was meant to be a wedding coordinator. I had 110% confidence in Shawniece as she was on top of everything including due dates and emailing and answering my endless voicemails to answer the millions of questions that I had. 11 days before our wedding, I got a call from Holly, the Director of Catering, stating that Shawniece was no longer at the DoubleTree, at no fault of her own. As if my anxiety wasn't high enough with the wedding quickly approaching, this made my anxiety sky rocket. With only 11 days until the wedding, all of the hard work had been set in motion by Shawniece and was written down. It was up to Holly to then execute it. Holly took our case file and really made an incredible effort to get to know it inside and out and tried to ease my anxieties. There were some things that I had already squared away with Shawniece that I had to re-go over with Holly but overall, Holly did an incredible job at taking over our wedding on such short notice. Her and Trevor, the Banquet Manager, did everything in their power to try to make it right for us with the inconvenience of Shawniece no longer being with the hotel. And I just want to say that Holly and Trevor absolutely killed it for our wedding weekend! Behind the scenes it was a scramble at times but what wedding isn't? To our guests it was absolutely flawless, as they told us. Our guests were so impressed by everything at the DoubleTree. We had our ceremony, reception, and farewell brunch all within the DoubleTree so as to make it convenient for our guests. I also want to shout out to Anna, who was in charge of our room block, as she worked her butt off for us too. Some of our less tech-savvy guests had some issues with booking rooms through the room block and Anna was so incredibly helpful with fixing those issues and making sure that people's reservations were moved to within our room block. Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect! Was there a bump in the road with the wedding coordinator being let go from the hotel 11 days before the wedding? Oh yes! But did the remaining staff do everything in their power to make it right and mediate the situation? Heck yes! I would do the whole thing over again in a heartbeat. It was inconvenient and I firmly believe corporate DoubleTree made a huge mistake in letting Shawniece go. But the show had to go on and the entire team top to bottom, from Holly and Trevor to the banquet servers stepped up to the challenge to knock our wedding weekend out of the park. Their teamwork during our weekend was incredible to see. With Shawniece no longer at the hotel, I cannot say how weddings will go in the future at the DoubleTree. But if the team works together like they did for our wedding, which I firmly believe they will, you will not be disappointed to have your wedding at the DoubleTree in Downtown Pittsburgh. I truly hope you consider this DoubleTree for your wedding as you will not be disappointed.
I just had my wedding there this past Saturday 8/17/19 and it was a complete DISASTER! I was keeping a very good relationship between myself and the wedding coordinator for a year and a half, and unexpectedly just 4 days before my wedding I was told she was no longer with the doubletree. Leaving me in a bind I was forced to deal with many responsibilities on my own with the aid of the kitchen director, and my wedding was still in shambles! The front desk messed up our rooms and tried to switch our rooms 3 hours before our ceremony making us late getting dressed. Being the fact that they fired my coordinator without replacing her meant the timeline for my wedding was rushed and many important events were skipped! I was not at all pleased with the way I was treated and I do not recommend anyone to get married at this hotel.
Our wedding was amazing. So many guests have said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Shawniece was an incredible event manager and eased any nerves or worry I had at each time we met with her. The food was fantastic and the wedding package they offered us was perfect for our needs. We had some pretty specific details we wanted to make the event special and she and her staff made sure that everything was perfect. The hotel is clean and beautiful. Our day was perfect!
We held both our rehearsal dinner and our reception at the DoubleTree. From start to finish, the entire weekend far exceeded our wildest expectations. Shawniece Evins, Trevor Getz, and the entire DoubleTree team were incredibly professional, accommodating, and efficient. We had several guests in from out of town and heard from so many of them about how impressed they were with their experiences throughout the weekend.
The food at our rehearsal dinner (Italian buffet) was delicious, as was our reception menu. The appetizers at our cocktail hour were also delightful! The servers never missed a beat at either meal. Our guests were very well taken care of. On Sunday morning, we got to have brunch with our guests at the Bigelow Grille inside the DoubleTree. The food was again fantastic, service was excellent, and it gave us another opportunity to spend time with our guests before going our separate ways.
We looked at a few other venues in Pittsburgh before deciding on the DoubleTree. The value there was second to none. We got much more for our money there than any of our other options offered. The packages offered by the DoubleTree allowed us to handle everything through them, rather than dealing with multiple other vendors.
There are not enough compliments on the planet to describe how amazing Shawniece was throughout our entire year of planning. She was incredibly responsive to my (what seemed like) thousands of questions. She went above and beyond to accommodate us in every possible way, especially for my Mom, who is in a wheelchair.
I kept telling myself in the days right before the wedding that I knew something would go wrong, and that would be ok - we would get through it. I can honestly say that moment never came. I never felt even the slightest stress. Every single aspect of the entire weekend was perfect. Shawniece and her team never missed a beat. I'm convinced that I had to be the least stressed out bride ever thanks to the DoubleTree!
We are 3 days out from our wedding and are still smiling from ear to ear. We want to get married again just so we can have this incredible experience all over again. Our flower girl has already asked her parents if she can have her wedding there, as well!
I cannot thank the DoubleTree, Shawniece, Trevor, and the entire team enough for making all of our wedding weekend dreams come true!
We just had our perfect wedding reception here this past weekend and it was AMAZING!!!! Our first visit, I knew this was the place, Shawniece was so helpful from our first meeting to after the wedding. She asked so many questions that I didn't even think of and checked everything off on our list plus some! Our food was so delicious, people are still talking about the soup, salad, entrees and late night snacks! Everyone loved their drinks and we did a signature hurricane and they turned out so yummy! The room was stunning, I can't wait to see all the photos! We used One Happy Floral Shop in Millvale for all the flowers and they were phenomenal!! My bouquet is still in tact! The cake from bethel was delicious, people also still talking about that!! I loved having all these special things (chiavari chairs, late night snacks, floral arrangements, menu/placecards, etc) done in one place, and Shawniece was an absolute blessing to work with, my mom, my sisters and I still talk about how lovely she is!! Getting ready the girls had a room which was so spacious for hair and makeup, the guys also had the Vue room to get ready in for the ceremony! We used this room during the bridal party cocktail hour and they had all our appetizers and drinks waiting for us up there!! Ugh everything was so perfect and I can't believe it's over. If I had to do it again, I would pick this place again in a heartbeat!
We looked through a lot of reception spots at hotels because I had a lot of out of town family coming in. I am so happy we went with the DoubleTree in downtown Pittsburgh. Shawniece, she is the most responsive, kind and professional person we worked with in this entire wedding planning process. I’m a planner, and Shawniece came prepared with any question I threw her way. She made our day absolutely perfect! The staff at the DoubleTree in downtown Pittsburgh was so attentive to the needs of myself and guests. I’m so happy with how everything turned out, would not change a thing!
Our wedding at the DoubleTree in downtown Pittsburgh was absolutely perfect. We had both our ceremony and reception at the hotel, and everything was wonderful. Shawniece was so helpful throughout the planning process and was always responsive to my many emails and questions. The DoubleTree staff really covered every little detail so that we were able to relax and enjoy our day. The space looked beautiful, and we got several compliments on the food.
My ONLY caution about this venue is that the parking is not ideal (and the garage staff was not particularly friendly) but we knew that was a sacrifice that we were making by choosing to have a downtown wedding, and it really wasn’t too big of a deal.
Thank you to the DoubleTree and Shawniece for making our big day PERFECT!
My husband and I got married in December and had our cocktail hour and reception at the DoubleTree. Originally we worked with Ashley as our coordinator, then Kayla and finally Shawniece. Although I was nervous that we had gone through three coordinators in our two and a half year engagement, each of them were VERY responsive to any questions and concerns that we had! We had the pleasure of working with Shawniece for majority of our engagement and boy were we SO lucky and fortunate! She (and the DoubleTree) were SOO flexible and amazing to work with! She was very clear and prompt with responding to emails and ALWAYS got back to me in a timely manor. We had a Christmas wedding and wanted to decorate with more garland and wreaths and not only did Shawniece allow us to do this, but she gave us some great ideas herself! The food and drinks were awesome and all of the guests raved about it! Having 200 guests I was nervous that the bar line would get too long but that never happened! I would highly suggest DoubleTree Downtown Pittsburgh as a wedding venue!
I can't say enough great thing about this venue and staff especially working with Shawniece Evans she was amazing and truly helpful to make my wedding planning experience smooth and stress free! she answered all my questions quickly and helped me out with anything I needed. she is truly a wonderful person with a great personality! I would highly recommend the DoubleTree it was beautiful the venue when it was all set up Shawniece and the staff did and amazing job I couldn't be more happier with how everything turned out! not one thing went wrong it was definitely a day I'll never forget!
AMAZING! The staff is wonderful and very helpful! Shawniece was amazing to work with! She is very responsive and really gets to know the bride on a personal level. Anything we asked for, Shawniece was able to get it for us! They are reasonably priced and are really able to work with your budget. I would highly recommend the Downtown DoubleTree as a reception location!
We would HIGHLY recommend the Doubletree for your wedding. Shawniece was the best wedding coordinator. She made sure every detail was covered. We really enjoyed working with her and she made our wedding planning experience delightful. We can't say enough about Shawniece and her professionalism, kindness, and ability to make sure it was the wedding of our dreams.
The DoubleTree offered a very reasonable price for what was offered which was one of the reasons we chose them in the first place. We felt as though our money was well spent. The food was excellent. We were able to decorate the ballroom with an outside vendor and that turned out beautifully. Bethel Bakery was super easy to work with and the cake was delicious. All of our guests had a wonderful time.
We recommend you check them out! You will not be disappointed.
I would highly recommended the Doubletree in downtown Pittsburgh to anyone. Shawniece was amazing. She worked with my husband and I every step of the way. She set up the tasting, and met with us to discuss details when we requested. Any question I had she would get back to me right away. I bought decorations for the venue to go with my theme and she took care of everything. I did not have to worry about anything and it turned out exactly how I envisioned! She also worked with the vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. The Doubletree’s three rivers room was the perfect space for our wedding of 130 guests. The Doubletree also offered unique additions to the wedding such as uplighting, late night snacks, custom menu cards, and a signature drink! Our wedding was perfect and that is due to Shawniece and the Doubletree!
I honestly do not even know where to begin! I cannot say enough good things about this venue. Shawniece is absolutely wonderful. She made everything so stress free. We literally had to do nothing on the day of the wedding, she took care of everything. The reception hall was so beautiful and the food was delicious. The wedding was perfect from start to finish. Shawniece genuinely cares about her role in making your wedding a success and she goes above and beyond. I will miss working with her.
My husband and I held our wedding reception at the DoubleTree and Shawniece was AMAZING! She was a huge help throughout the entire planning process. She even gave me her personal cell phone number for the day of the wedding in case we needed anything last minute! We had around 150 guests in the large Pennsylvania ballroom and she and her staff were amazing with the service all around from hors de'vours, drinks, dinner, and so on. I would definitely recommend the DoubleTree to hold your wedding reception!
Where do I even begin! Shawniece at the Doubletree Hotel is fantastic, absolutely AMAZING! Everyone at the Doubletree made sure everything was perfect. The set-up crew, catering staff/servers, bartenders, front desk workers, sales coordinator, EVERYONE! They ALWAYS had smiles on their faces like they enjoyed what they were doing! On the day of, all I had to do was show up and get ready. Everything was taken care of and there's not a single thing I would have changed about our April 28th wedding ceremony/reception. The ceremony was also performed at the hotel and it was so convenient to not have to go anywhere. Shawniece was extremely responsive and professional during the entire planning process and made us less stressed. She always answered all my emails and my random stupid questions professionally. The Vue room on the 18th floor was the perfect place for the guys to get ready in. The girls had their own two-bedroom suite on the 17th floor that was amazing as well. It had a lot of places to sit and hang out before the ceremony entrance. Family pictures were done after the ceremony concluded right in that same room. The bridal party went up to the roof top to get some pictures done! We can’t wait to see them. We went over to the Mellon Park to get photos of myself and my husband. It was a quick walk away. Even though I didn’t have a chance to eat my food since EVERYONE told me how AMAZING it was. The cake was from bethel bakery and everyone said that it was the best cake they had! The way they decorated with the little extra things was set up just the way we wanted it! We are so glad that we choose the DoubleTree Pittsburgh and definitely recommend it to any bride and groom OR ANYONE!
Shawniece and the team at The DoubleTree are incredible! There's not a single thing I would have changed about our Nov. 11 wedding reception. Shawniece was incredibly responsive and professional throughout the entire process and made us feel at ease. From the food to the cookie table to the decor, everything was just the way we wanted it! We would recommend the DoubleTree without reservation to any Pittsburgh brides and grooms!
We had our ceremony and reception here on July 15. We started with Ashley as our wedding planner (and from previous reviews you can see how amazing she was). She moved on career-wise 2 months prior to our wedding; however, the transition was smooth and everything promised and planned went off without a hitch! Guests raved about having a '1 stop shop' for everything. The food was amazing and portions were huge! Everything was setup beautifully and we had the entire area reserved for the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception. Great location to have pictures (we went across the street to the fountain where there were marble benches and bright flowers). We also had rooftop pictures with our families and just us at sunset. One thing to look out for (which is beyond control) - parking can sometimes be a tricky issue if there are other events (sports, concerts) going on that weekend. This is a great location (especially for weddings with a lot of out-of-towners), a lot to do in the area and very affordable!
Ashley and Will are an amazing team! Very quick to accommodate any requests / ideas throughout the whole planning process. Since we had a NYE wedding, Ashley understood our want to have a later ceremony (7pm) and even later reception (8pm-1am) to ring in the new year. She helped us put together an awesome food selection of "heavy appetizers" buffet style, as apposed to a traditional sit down dinner. The day of, everything was set up perfectly. Being a designer, I had specific ideas in mind. Will and team were more than willing to accommodate and execute according to specific instructions (pictures and all). Not once did they make me feel like an overbearing bride or that I was asking too much. I did not have to worry about ANYTHING but getting ready the day of. The Vue room on the 18th floor is the perfect place for the ladies to get ready. Plenty of space (and outlets), very clean and convenient in case there were any set up / last minute questions. Both Ashley and Will popped in a few times throughout the day to see how everything was going. The DoubleTree only books one wedding a weekend so the ceremony and reception space were accessible to me the whole weekend. No need to rush to set up and take down (they boxed up EVERYTHING, just had to swing down after checkout to grab and go) which is a huge bonus. They made the whole process stress free and my wedding day truly magical!
Ashley made our wedding wonderful! She was great to work with. There wasn't much to worry about or do because the hotel staff really has everything under control. Very accommodating and friendly group of people. I'm so glad we chose doubletree for our wedding venue!
This was the perfect location for my family and my now husband's family. It was very easy to get to and centrally located. The staff was fantastic and made sure that the wedding went off with no issues. I have gotten nothing but compliments on how beautiful the wedding was. Ashley was able to help us find a package that met our budget. If you are looking for a hotel to have your reception downtown, I would definitely recommend this place!
The ceremony and reception was great at Double Tree but the staff after was so rude to us I would not refer anyone there it seem wants the wedding was over we were treated like animals I don't know if it was because I was black but it seem like after the wedding they didn't care about us any longer
We could have not been happier! Affordable, professional, Ashley our coordinator was amazing. Food delicious, the place was beautiful. The room was fantastic. I could have not wanted anything else. And their cookies are to die for.
Ashley was amazing for the entire wedding planning process, she was one of the reasons we selected the DoubleTree. The day of the wedding, the entire staff took care of everything and I didn't need to worry about a thing! The ceremony space and reception was exactly what we wanted and it turned out amazing. Our guest are still talking about how good the food was. I would recommend this venue to anyone!
The Double Tree Downtown was beautiful. Ashley Riebel was amazing and so organized. Only downside is the parking, to be expected with a downtown wedding. Food was very good. The bartenders were wonderful.
Ashley was great to work with! She was extremely responsive, worked with us to create a unique wedding package, and made sure our wedding was just what we wanted. The ballroom was very nice and with flowers from Harold's Flowers (located in the DoubleTree), the space became the perfect wedding setting. We're very happy with how everything worked out and would recommend the DoubleTree to other couples!
Overall, we had a great experience. We were able to customize a package (including a margarita bar!) and experienced great customer service from the hotel. The wedding coordinator, Lisa, (despite changing a few times) was excellent, and she was a pleasure to work with.
On-site valet parking is run by a different company, and they were terrible; they were rude to guests. We also ran into an issue paying for our guests parking; they were charged (as were we), but later reimbursed.
However, despite the parking hiccup, I'd recommend this venue without hesitation. The lobby is newly updated and the event space is beautiful. It looks great in our photos!
Working with the Doubletree was a wonderful experience. Tanya was on top of all our requests, reachable thru email/phone and offered very affordable prices. Great service, delicious free cookies every time!
I got so many compliments about this venue. The decor in the hotel was beautiful and the staff was so nice to work with. Tanya helped us with the planning and she was amazing! Everyone raved about the food also! We loved it!
The ballroom was just refinished spring of 2010! The coordinator, Mimi, is fantastic! She makes sure everything is exactly the way you want it, and is there with you throughout the day, and makes sure all of your cards/gifts are sent up to your room throughout the evening. The food is fantastic! We had so many compliments on the steaks being cooked so well. Plus, you are the only wedding that can take place that day, and they allow you to extend the bar/reception if you want to that day. We extended ours an extra hour for the bar and the DJ played until midnight! We could not have been more happy with the way the reception went.
The Doubletree has a great, newly renovated ballroom that was perfect for our large wedding reception. The food was fabulous too...much better than normal reception food.
Tanya McKee at the DoubleTree was amazing! She was so sweet and bent over backwards to give us what we wanted. The ballroom was just remodeled and it looked awesome! Everyone at the reception had a wonderful time and the food was catered by Bigelow Grille...absolutely amazing food. The mushroom bisque is to die for!
My husband and i chose to have our reception at the Doubletree Pittsburgh City Center in downtown Pittsburgh because we wanted a city wedding. The two original reasons we chose this vendor are 1) the Event Planner Mimi is absolutely amazing and 2) the ballroom was being renovated to look very contemporary with beautiful earth colors. Mimi was the most responsive Event Planner out of all of the places we looked at and she always went above and beyond what you normally get from any vendor Event Planner. The Doubletree itself did an incredible job assisting with the decorations and making sure our guests had everything they needed at the reception and in their hotel rooms. We got so many comments from our guests on how incredible the staff was and how amazing the food was. The chef at the Doubletree is wonderful and very organic. There are so many things to stress over when planning for your big day, but i was so relieved knowing that our reception was in good hands. The Doubletree was a beautiful venue and much more affordable then the other venues we researched. i strongly recommend this venue to any couple, they are extremely helpful with working with your budget and making sure your special day goes smoothly and your guests are happy. Plus we love their cookies!!!! We cannot say enough about how wonderful of a job the Doubletree and event staff did on our wedding day.
Tanya Mckee at the Doubletree did an amazing job helping us plan our out of town wedding. We were able to have an outside ceremony with a rain backup plan, an inside reception, at an affordable price. The entire staff at the Doubletree made our wedding planning process an incredible experience. We had a lot of special request and Tanya and the entire staff made all of the request come to life. If you want to have a wedding in the city at an affordable price with a reception with a city view..look no further!
First let me start off by saying that the primary reason I chose the Doubletree was the incredible event coordinator there!!! She answered all of my questions before I even had them and I absolutely loved working with her! The first time I saw the ballroom was before the renovation this spring - and it was ok, outdated, but ok. After the renovation - WOW! Beautiful! The food was amazing - the staff is wonderful, the ballroom and foyer are lovely and modern... I cannot say enough good about this location for your wedding! My family said it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they had ever been to - and I KNOW a lot of that comes from the ambiance of the renovated DT. Another thing - the value of the wedding - being a Hilton hotel it is not the cheapest but for the money you get more than what you are paying for. Good luck to all future brides!
In the city, close to public transportation, rooms were there; The catering manager was very unhelpful
It was convienient and very close to a lovely garden for Photos. The Catering staff was wonderful and very easy to work with. Plus they have this hospitality suite that you can rent for a really fun after party.;The only thing I'd say to be wary of is that they tend to 'sit' on your payment for 2 weeks or more.
The DoubleTree Hotel City Center is decorated in a contemporary style which reflected our wedding to a tee. The building used to be an apartment building so each guest room is different which we absolutely loved. There is only one ballroom and reception site at the Double Tree so you receive dedicated service and attention and do not have to contend with other weddings in the same venue. The food was amazing and we received exceptional service through our entire experience.
