Do no book!. I probably should take legal action against this hotel.
I had my wedding reception at this hotel in August.
It started with the foyer space being WAY too small for ...
the guest list, despite promised otherwise.
The hotel had canceled our hotel room, so the Bride and I had to stand in the lobby for a half hour fighting with the desk clerk to get a room, which delayed everything about the reception.
We were promised 2 bartenders, and only 1 was there, and with over 200 guests, and the small foyer, this caused multiple problems. Due to the crowed and the queue, few people got to sign the guest book, or have hors d'oeuvres.
The back drop fell twice upon us during the dinner. Not once, twice.
Besides embarrassing for the wedding party, this could have been a huge safety issue with candles, and having us seated on a raised platform.
Many guests complained of the steak being undercooked, cold, and way over done.
And when it was over, the sales director sent us a bill for more money claiming extra people were at the wedding. Which is absolute lie. The truth is less people came then we paid for. When we mentioned all the problems, we did not get an apology, we just got a reduced rate in what we “owe” them for the extra people they claim were there. My bride is livid, and it has ruined the memory of her wedding day.
We can't say enough how wonderful this newly remodeled venue was for our wedding. The space, the staff, the location made for an epic 1920's themed wedding that we will forever rem...
ember. Our event coordinator Tracy was amazing despite all the changes she handled everything with calm and care.

es were shared with is. We did not feel pressured at all. Throughout the planning process I had a lot of questions. The staff was willing to meet with me in person as many times as I needed, and I was able to email my questions with quick responses.
We had our reception at the Holiday Inn on 09/26/15. We had the beef tenderloin and lemon rosemary chicken for dinner, and both were excellent! All guests raved about the dinner....
We worked with Tracy Jo to get the details all worked out, and she was great with responding to emails/calls, as well as coordinating with my travel schedule (lived 250 miles away from reception venue). They were up front with costs of everything. There was a food tasting/vendor expo to help with all of choices that go into planning a reception. Having preferred vendors to choose from to get the best deal was nice.
We had a really great experience having our reception at Holiday Inn East. They were very helpful before and during the reception. They were really wonderful about making things ...
run well. I would recommend others having their reception here!
Our catering manager, Marisa Hovde, was personal, professional, sensitive, accomodating and fun to work with. It was our first major event and Marisa made it a piece of cake. Wit...
h little effort, the ballroom was beautiful, the italian buffet was exceptional and all the staff worked very hard. All our guests raved about it being an excellent dinner and so fun.
The only hitch was hotel check-in which was very disorganized and painfully slow. This area needs help.
Thank you to the catering staff - you're the best!
