Joy and Toni were planning for Toni’s daughter’s Wedding, Annie. She wanted the Wedding of her dreams but had a small budget to maintain. Joy and Toni got to work, putting together everything she wanted and coming in under budget. Tragedy struck and Annie passed before she was able to get married.
That’s when Down Annie Lane was created. Joy and Toni decided they would help all brides who needed to stay on a budget fulfill the Wedding they always wanted. Teaming up with wonderful, affordable and reliable vendors who would help make this happen!
In 2015, they began working with Megan at one of their favorite venues. Megan thoroughly enjoyed working with them all awhile learning and taking notes at how wonderful they were with each bride. A few years later, Joy and Toni asked Megan if she would like to take over Down Annie Lane. She was beyond honored and excited that they came to her with such an amazing offer!

We hired Megan as our day of coordinator, and we do not recommend her for that role.
I will start by saying that Megan was super helpful in helping us get a timeline together, helping guide us from one step to another on the wedding day (it’s a whirlwind!), and did a fantastic job setting up our decorations before the wedding. Megan’s assistant was also helpful and nice.
However, there were a few issues. First, the bridal bouquet was cut up before my wife walked down the aisle and used as decorations for the catering company. I am not sure if it was the catering company or Megan that made the cuts, but Megan was the supervisor at this time.
Second, Megan made a couple of rude comments to our wedding party throughout the weekend. It’s already a stressful enough time, and snarky comments / eye rolling / being yelled at were not very helpful. This behavior was brought up to us by multiple family and friends.
Third, Megan’s contract is very strict - when you’re planning your wedding yourself there are many times where you are not going to know what you should be looking for, especially when you sign contracts 6+ months in advance. Ultimately it is on us for signing, but they are still things I hope other folks are aware of. In her contract:
- The rehearsal time is not set in stone until 4 weeks before the wedding, meaning you may have to plan the rehearsal around her schedule. We wanted to do it 24 hours before the wedding (as is traditional) but she booked another event at that time, so we had to do it in the morning instead of right before our rehearsal dinner and were told that 6 weeks beforehand (before we were allowed to select our date/time, meaning we never had the option of doing it later than 10am the day before).
- Her contract states that every day there is a late payment, it is an extra $10. Her payment schedule is set up in 3 installments on random dates, which is different than every other vendor we worked with, which usually required a deposit and final payment in the weeks leading up to the event. We happened to be on vacation for her second of three payments, and she emailed us at the bottom of an email thread as a PS that the second payment was due, and we had missed it for a week. She dropped the price down by $20 which was kind, but it would have been nice to have more of a heads up. It was unfortunate as every other vendor would send us an advance reminder about an upcoming payment and not that we were ever late on other payments but a follow up the day after a payment is late would have been nice. It felt to us like she purposely didn’t remind us to seek extra payment.
- There were a lot of expensive upsell opportunities in this package, we ended up hanging our own archway decorations because it was going to cost more for Megan to do it if she had to get on a ladder, it was going to be $10 per bud vase to dump the water and flowers at the end of the night (we had 100 of these), and it was cheaper to buy decor brand new from Amazon than rent from Megan’s package ($25 to rent her cake stand, a brand new one costs the same or less).
Megan has a lot of great reviews for actually wedding planning, and the day of the wedding she did well. But I would not recommend her as a day-of-coordinator.
Hiring Megan Sapp was one of the best things we did for our wedding! She and her team were incredibly organized and attentive, taking all the stress off our shoulders on the big day. From the early planning stages—helping us find vendors, develop our budget, and navigate contracts—to executing every little detail seamlessly on the day itself, Megan was fantastic. Thanks to her, we got to fully enjoy our wedding without worrying about anything. We would recommend Megan without hesitation to any couple considering hiring a wedding planner!
Now that we are a few weeks out following the wedding and returning to somewhat of a state of normalcy - I wanted to leave this positive review to thank Megan Sapp for such an AMAZING service she offered to me and my husband for our big day.
Her responsiveness and ability to navigate all of it with me made the entire experience (including the planning!!) nothing short of magical. I had zero stress the entire time, and I have Megan to thank for so much of it.
Throughout the entire process and during the event itself, Megan was so gracious and patient with us, for coordinating every little detail, to shuffling us around where we were needed when we were needed the entire night, because lord knows with the music and our family and friends to pull us in a million different directions, I am eternally grateful for her holding it all together for us so that we could simply focus on being present and having an amazing time.
Everyone commented about how much fun it was, and Megan was are the core of creating that environment with us to celebrate it all with those we love and wanted to surround ourselves with.
It was an absolute blast, and she was so kind and gracious to us and our friends and family. Everything was perfect!
Also a huge shout-out to Desiree, Megan's right-hand woman. She was such a gem and her exuberance and kind spirit were definitely a highlight for us, as well!
The tools and resources Megan provides were a game-changer to keeping everything organized, too. Would very highly recommend Down Annie Lane/MS Events to anyone planning a wedding in the NOLA area.

Megan provided her planning service and day if coordination for me. She was extremely helpful on recommending vendors and coming up with fun ideas to incorporate in my wedding. The website she uses is very helpful to keep track of everything from budget to design. Her day of coordination is fantastic.
Megan was PHENOMENAL. She made my day so easy, and I truly adored her. She made sure I felt calm (and cool) on our hot summer wedding day. I will forever be grateful to her.
They knew all the vendors we worked with including a DJ who rarely does weddings. They were professional, very thorough, made sure everyone was focused during the rehearsal(!), and made the day and evening of our wedding stress-free. Jess and Desiree were very helpful all day, and Megan was super organized and helped us plan everything. Highly recommend!
There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am for Megan and her team. Megan guided me through the entire planning process. She thought of things I didn't know I needed and she managed everything to perfection. I was blessed to have Megan and Desiree with me on my wedding day. They made our day easy and wonderful. They work hard so you can enjoy the most important day of your life. (They think and take care of everything - EVERYTHING!)

I hired Down Annie Lane as a day of coordinator for my destination wedding to New Orleans from Atlanta, and Megan and company did a fantastic job! Throughout the planning process Megan was available for any questions I had throughout the process and when we were a month out took over and finalized everything with the vendors. On the actual wedding day, everything went perfectly and smoothly, I couldn't have asked for anything more, thank you very much for helping to make my day magical!
Megan is the wedding coordinator that you NEED. She is so organized, so on top of everything, and puts out fires before you smell smoke. We used Megan's moth of coordination package with the Second Line add-on, and we added a decoration package of candles, cake platters, etc. through her (but she met with us well before the month of when my husband and I traveled to New Orleans several months before our wedding). Megan is the expert that we didn't understand how badly we needed. She got us to consider things we would have never thought of. Unfortunately, due to the proximity to Mardi Gras, we were not able to secure a second line permit, but Megan coordinated with our venue (Hotel Peter and Paul) so that we would be able to do a mini-second line from our ceremony to our cocktail hour which was an amazing solution! She provided many suggestions throughout the planning process that were invaluable to us, and ensured that our wedding went smoothly and was on-time. Additionally, multiple guests came up to me saying how impressed they were with Megan and her assistant. I have full confidence that Megan would be an incredible asset for any wedding!
Megan was the perfect fit for me. I had all the big stuff done but found myself lost on how to approach little details and making sure I was on track to finish planning and didn’t forget anything along the way.
The wedding went so smoothly thanks to her and her assistant Lauren. Anytime I tried to ask anything or worry it was like Lauren was reading my mind and I didn’t even get to finish a sentence. When you’re used to handling everything yourself you can’t help but think about making sure everything is going the way it’s supposed to. I was able to enjoy my day because this team made sure I had no other choice! Thank you ladies for the peace of mind so I could be completely present for this day I planned for over a year.
Megan was absolutely one of the biggest reasons that our wedding was amazing as it was! She was extremely easy to work with, so accommodating, and is truly an expert at what she does. Planning a destination wedding from out of state, should be stressful - but in our case, it was a breeze. Megan was so organized and on top of everything, that at no point during planning or on the day of did I feel stressed out. On the day of the wedding, Megan and her assistant, Desiree, were a dream. They were super friendly, made us feel so at ease, and literally never let our glasses go empty lol! They worked so well with all of the other vendors and made the day go by incredibly smoothly. The décor that they provided was beautiful and just another thing that we didn't have to worry about. I would work with DAL again in a heartbeat.
Megan was really on top of it! We hired her last minute as one of our vendors was very difficult to work with and it was creating unnecessary stress right before our wedding. She was so organized and really listened to what we wanted and needed and made suggestions when asked but was never pushy or intrusive. Desiree was our “ day of” person and she also was phenomenal! Our “ difficult vendor” was late and Desiree was on top of it and handled everything so that we could enjoy our wedding ceremony and reception . She made sure things ran smoothly and advocated for us when needed. If you are questioning if you should use a wedding coordinator- definitely hire them!
Megan helped us have an amazing wedding day. She helped us select the perfect vendors and really kept everybody in line leading up to the wedding and day of. On the big day, she was there to address every issue and really helped the whole day feel seamless. She kept everything on time and running smoothly and me and my husband were able to just enjoy the day. Everything we were were hoping for!
I don't even know where to being, Megan with DAL was heaven sent! We hired Megan in 2020 to help plan our wedding for 2022 since we were planning a destination wedding. Over the 2 year planning period, Megan literally became our best friend between all the calls/emails/texts we sent. As much as I don't want to admit it, I was an indecisive bride and Megan knew how to help me make a decision. She gave great recommendations on vendors and did an amazing job with follow ups for both the vendors and my to-do lists. The day of the wedding, Megan and her team were ON POINT. From the decorations to the day of timeline, my family and everyone who attended commented on how professional everything was and how well Megan got the job done! I can't thank Megan enough. We'll be calling her when we are ready for our vow renewals. Thank you, Megan!
We highly recommend Megan and her team at Down Annie Lane. We used Down Annie Lane for 30 day wedding planning services for a destination wedding. This was by far the best investment that we made for our wedding! Megan was so great about scheduling an initial phone call, site visit, working with us with a timeline for our wedding day, helping with furniture layout, and answering all of our questions along the way. When it came time for our wedding weekend, we experienced an initial issue with our venue and Megan jumped in and took charge right away. On the day of our Welcome Party and Wedding, Megan and her team were superstars! They took charge of the set up and flipping the space from ceremony to reception while providing very personalized attention to us, the bride and groom. They made sure we always had drinks, packaged up food for us each night, and checked in with us often. We can’t thank Megan and Down Annie Lane enough for helping to create such a magical weekend!
We hired Megan of Down Annie Lane to help us plan our wedding in the mid-level package. This meant once per month phone calls, review of contracts, help with our welcome bags, and day of planning. While it felt like we didn't talk much and her follow up was sometimes inconsistent in the months leading up to the wedding (and I should mention, this was all smack in the middle of COVID and a hurricane), it all made sense when it was "our turn." Megan is ALL HANDS ON DECK and ALL ABOUT YOU when it comes to the final time before the wedding. She followed up with every one of our vendors and tightened up the timeline, confirmed with every vendor, and made sure the day ran smoothly. On day of, she took care of any hiccups and we were truly able to enjoy the day- including one major blunder by the reception venue. Everything went so smoothly, thanks to Megan and her team. We were planning our wedding from afar and truly would not have had the amazing wedding we did, if it were not for her. When planning, we used a lot of the vendors she recommended and followed the monthly checklists she gave us. From helping with my hair, pinning boutonnières, rearranging speeches so the timing worked with the videographer's contractual time when we were running late- it all worked out because Megan handled it. I would definitely recommend Down Annie Lane!
I would absolutely recommend Megan every day of the week. She was so helpful on the day of the wedding and went above and beyond to advocate for what my husband and I wanted. She was incredibly patient with us, and she really, truly went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done just as we wanted. We had a destination wedding and no florist, but Megan set everything up like a true professional. She was incredibly helpful, professional and so sweet. 10/10 would recommend.
Megan and her team were totally amazing to work with! I am so thankful that I hired her for the month-of services. I was planning on doing it all alone to save some $$, but she was worth every penny. She put everything in place and made sure everything got done! I'm mostly thankful that she rallied our 12 drunk groomsmen with ease. She's the best and if you're considering a wedding planner, I highly recommend her!
Megan was an Angel!!! When I realized that I just didn’t not have the time to try and find decor ( mostly candles) for my reception I began to search for rentals and vendors who could set things up for us. Megan was quick to respond and went above and beyond to crest a beautiful ambience for the wedding! When I walked into the reception and saw the candles on the tables I wanted to cry! It was so beautiful! Not to mention, the cake table set up & second line umbrellas! I didn’t use Megan for coordination service, but I can tell that she will be on top of things! Thank you Megan for helping this brides wedding vision come to life!
Hiring and working with Megan of Down Annie Lane was worth all of the money. Being a long-distance bride can be nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to the small details. Prior to the wedding, we had several coordination calls with Megan going over details of the wedding, such as schedule and decor which were so helpful.
Megan's decor rental option was a lifesaver for us. It totally took the pressure off of having to purchase, transport, set up, and takedown. On the wedding day, Megan and her assistant Alecia rocked it! If anything went wrong, we did not know about it. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful thanks to Megan and Alecia. Weddings can be stressful but Megan was able to take so much stress off. I HIGHLY Down Annie Lane.
Y’all Megan is the best! We hired her for her day of services and she went above and beyond. The day we met her all of our worries were put to bed. She came in a month before the wedding and took the reigns! She was so organized and and for an ocd bride like myself, it was music to my ears. Anytime I had a question, even if it seemed silly, she had an answer. Also, my mom has had 3 daughters get married, so if you can imagine the decor she’s accumulated (rooms and closets full); well, Megan took everything and made sure it got to and from the venue safely. Her assistants were also so fabulous. They made sure I was relaxed on my big day and it meant the world to me! I cannot recommend Megan enough for all of your wedding planning needs!!!
I cannot say enough fabulous things about Megan!! She's the absolute best. To be completely transparent we had hired another planner to start and then when our wedding day was pushed due to Covid they recommended Down Annie Lane. I cannot imagine if that had not happen because I couldn't possibly have had a better planning experience. She is SO quick to respond to both email/text and most of the time she was ahead of me on thinking of any details or last minute things to tie up. She went above and beyond and came to our tasting, vendor meetings and rehearsal. I felt completely comfortable around her and didn't feel like I was walking on eggshells like I did speaking to other planners. Our day went off without a hitch (even with a last minute ceremony venue change) and we owe it all to Megan. She's sweet, warm and so fun. Her attention to detail is insane - she actually blocked potholes so my friends who had enjoyed a few too many beverages didn't fall during our second line parade. Do yourself a favor and hire this queen!!
Megan with DAL was awesome! We used her as a day-of coordinator. She answered all of my e-mails and questions in a timely manner and she was very helpful. Her price point was very reasonable! We had some last minute changes to our wedding and Megan was a great help. She was flexible and knowledgeable to help through all the craziness of the wedding day. She also performed our rehearsal and it went great.
To be completely fair with this review, I feel like I need to rate Megan on her one month coordination skills and then rate her for her wedding day coordination skills.
Megan’s month of coordination gets a rate of 2/10.
Literally Megan made me MORE stressed in the last month of my wedding planning rather than alleviating my stress.
1)Megan takes entirely TOOO LONG to respond to emails. Roughly about a week rather than 24-48 hours as stated during her month of coordination, and when you send follow up emails she tells you she is working with other clients and has a family life. I’m sorry, but a professional would NEVER make one bride feel less than another and a professional can balance both family and work life or get some help!!
2) Megan did not reach out to my vendors 2-3 weeks before my event as stated in her contract. She waited until the week before to reach out. I reached out myself and have written confirmation from several vendors that they did not hear from Megan.
3)Megan was not present at my wedding rehearsal because she had another event (she sent her assistant Alicia who was EXTREMELY RUDE to my bridal party btw). Her excuse was I did not let her know when my rehearsal was. I’m sorry, but if you’ve been doing wedding planning for over 10 years you know for a fact rehearsals are typically a day or two before the wedding day. And considering my wedding was the Saturday of Thanksgiving meaning the two day mark was Thanksgiving day and several places were closed my rehearsal MUST be that Friday. A simple email to confirm before booking another event would have been great.
4) I was told she would reach out to my photographer for a phone conversation to get the timeline set up. I gave Megan 4 days and she did not do it, so I ended up scheduling the meeting myself.
5)I did not get my finalized timeline for my wedding until the Monday of my wedding week. Yes, that MONDAY! A rough draft was sent the previous week however lots of TBA was written because she didn’t hear back from the vendors hence not contacting them 2-3 weeks prior.
6)We got married during Covid. To oblige by the rules and regulations of the church, I asked if Megan or her assistant could hand out face shields to the bridal party only as they stood on the alter to make the procession smooth. She simply said that’s not her job and to assign that to a family member. If this makes the wedding ceremony process smoother I don’t know why she or her assistant wouldn’t want to do it.
During the month of coordination, I felt like I was only paying Megan to decorate my venue space because I was literally doing everything else.
Wedding Day Coordination Skills Megan gets a 9/10.
She stuck with the timeline, made sure my husband and I were okay throughout the night, and decorated our venue very nicely.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Megan or Down Annie Lane Coordination. Spend your money on a coordinator who actually gives a shit about you and your wedding. If I had to do it all over again I would have definitely chosen another coordinator.
Hiring DAL was one of the best decisions we made. Megan went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We hired DAL for our wedding planning, decorating and our rehearsal dinner. Our venue was decorated beautifully, and we were able to enjoy both nights without worrying about anything. Megan took care of the coordination of all of my vendors and created the perfect wedding timeline. Our wedding weekend was better than I could have ever hoped for and I owe a lot of credit and thanks to Megan and her assistant.
Megan is the absolute best! We hired her as our day-of-coordinator, which includes confirming details with our vendors one month out. Let me tell you, she did way more than that! She was so great throughout our 1+ year of communication, even through the three postponed wedding dates, she was BEYOND accommodating, to the point where, she was already booked for our third and final wedding date, and still found time to accommodate us by setting up our entire wedding during the day, coordinating all our vendors, and staying to make sure the start of the reception was flawless before leaving the rest of the event in the extremely capable hands of her assistants. We are so grateful that we hired Megan, particularly given the uncertainty of COVID,and because I am an extremely relaxed bride. Megan was able to keep me on track, kept my vendors organized, made sure the itinerary was adhered to, and I just cannot say enough about how GORGEOUS HER SETUP WAS. I live in NYC and am alllllllll about aesthetics and she just blew me away with what she did with the little guidance I gave her. Our NYC and Miami wedding guests were so impressed. Megan herself is beautiful, stylish, poised, and so so professional. You can tell she is experienced because of confidence and meticulous attention to detail. Even when a crazy emergency arose (i.e. me, being the careless bride that I was, forgot our marriage license at the venue 20 min. away from where we needed it at the church), Megan's team rushed the license to the church. What a pleasure they were to work with! Do yourself a favor, hire Megan, take a breather, and rest assured that your event will go off seamlessly and beautifully.
We started working with Megan because she worked with our venue. She was easy to work with, answered all of the million questions I had through the process and helped make sure I didn’t forget anything. Because she had been so awesome already, we decided to hire her as our day of coordinator. She made sure everything was done, decorated and kept us on track. Having her throughout the 1.5 years we planned the wedding made a huge difference. She also made sure we had food, cake and drinks in our room after the wedding. Planning from out of state during hurricane season ...and a pandemic... would have been a lot more stressful without her help. Definitely recommend!
Megan is a true gem. I am an anxious bride (to say the least) and she is on top of all the little details, providing us with a monthly check list and staying in contact with all of our vendors as details keep changing due to COVID. I don't think we could have picked a better planner to help us navigate these uncertain times. She even accompanied us to all of our food tastings and helped us make a decision every step of the way! So thankful for her :)
Megan was an absolute angel throughout our wedding planning process. We planned a destination wedding and unfortunately due to weather issues (hurricanes can ruin so much) we were never able to actually meet in person prior to the wedding. Despite that large obstacle and the fact I work nightshift rendering me basically unavailable during normal hours and my overall vague vision she made my dream wedding an actual reality! She was very friendly and professional and made sure all the is were dotted and ts were crossed to ensure our day went off without a hitch something I know I could not have done without her. She was very willing to work within our budget and never pushed me past what I was comfortable with. All the vendors she set us up with were superb! Honestly, I was so overwhelmed with planning a wedding I almost eloped but after Megan took over I'm thinking of planning a 5 yr anniversary party! l'm also so thankful she recommended a little time alone with my new husband between the ceremony and the reception...its not something I would have thought of/prioritized however was the top moment of my wedding day (even if you don't end up hiring her please do this...the day goes by in such a blur take a moment together to celebrate you as a new couple...then go party). I honestly can not recommend Megan enough!!
It’s never easy planning a destination wedding but Megan was incredible! After deciding to tie the knot in New Orleans, while planning in San Diego, we knew we would need a wedding planner. My husband and I booked Megan for her full service planning package because we wanted to have a beautiful and unforgettable wedding but didn't know and couldn't figure out where to get started. From our venue to our caterers to the florals and decor to the day we did our walk through (we didn't think would happen because of the weather), she took care of it all and she made it happen. Then there’s the second line parade down Bourbon she set up for us and that was one of the most amazing experiences of our lives that we will never forget.
I like to consider myself a pretty crafty person so I had some DIY ideas that Megan also helped me incorporate into our special day. On the day of the wedding she coordinated everything flawlessly and everything fell into place perfectly which was very important to us. Absolutely no stress or worries! Her ability to realize our vision was nothing short of amazing. As for our actual wedding day, it was a dream come true and exceeded all of our expectations. Family and friends still tell us it was one of the best weddings ever, and we are so grateful to Megan for all her hard work and dedication to making our dreams come true.
On a personal level, Megan is very sweet and easy to talk to and I would definitely recommend her as your wedding planner or event planner! We have no regrets using Megan’s services.

Megan with Down Abbie Lane was an excellent wedding planners, and my only regret was not reaching out to her sooner. She really helped with every part of the process, and saved us a lot of money too. Do yourself a favor and call this company on day one of your wedding planning, it's WELL worth it.
The highest praise I can give Megan is that I did not stress AT ALL the day of my wedding. I am a super Type A, planned down to the second bride and Megan took it all in stride. I wasn't going to hire a coordinator because I had pretty much done everything, but TWO WEEKS before our wedding, my now husband encouraged me to reach out and see if we might be able to help with day of stress. So with two weeks until our wedding, I filled Megan in, gave her all my planning and from our first conversation on the phone, I knew it would be great. She was able to make it to our rehearsal, where she told everyone where to go, what to do and took inventory of all the (insane amounts) of decorations my family brought. Day-of, her and her associate decorated everything , setup what the venue didn't, and prepped everything. She kept things on pace and moving on time; she even helped bustle me! She was a comfort that day and I am so glad we had Megan and Down Annie Lane with us that day!!!
We hired Down Annie Lane because two of our close friends also used the company for their weddings---which were incredible. We were overwhelmed because we planned our wedding from Baton Rouge and also combined my husband's Louisiana culture and my parent's Persian culture. When I first met Megan, all my fears and anxieties melted. She was so professional, calming, skilled, and kind. She was very helpful in giving advice and coordinating with all of our vendors. On our wedding day, Megan decorated, coordinated, and managed everything perfectly. Her team was so comforting and made sure everything went smoothly. We literally had the wedding of our dreams. I feel that my wedding was one of the best days of my life, and Megan made that possible. Hiring Down Annie Lane was a really great investment and I would recommend them to anyone.

I am particularly thankful for her incredible support after our situation with the catering company pulling out less than a week before our wedding. She was able to find our food and drinks for over 150 people in two days for a price that we could afford. We will be forever grateful, Megan!
Megan was literally the best thing we did for our wedding!!!! We were coming in from Utah to have a wedding with almost 200 people. I was so overwhelmed at first trying to do it on my own but I finally got talked into hiring a wedding planner. Megan was the perfect match. She totally got our vibe from the start. She was able to handle the innumerable weird requests from our family and never got flustered. The vendors she helped us pick were fantastic too and she handled pretty much everything with them. She was great with all the planning parts prior to the wedding (including a big welcome party at BBG) but was also awesome during the ceremony and reception. We literally had no issues and just got to enjoy the day!!! I can’t imagine what our wedding would be like without Megan!
During the wedding planning process and my wedding weekend itself, Joy and Toni made me feel like a daughter, and Megan made me feel like a little sister. They truly run this like a family business and it shows in all aspects. If you are looking for an EXTRAORDINARILY reasonable price, people who will go ABOVE AND BEYOND, they are for you. My husband and I booked DAL for day-of coordination for our wedding on 3/8/19 at Chateau Le Moyne and to say they did much more than "day of" is a huge understatement. I never felt like a bother, they were in constant communication with us, and went with us to tour vendors a few months before the big day. DAL has a lot of contacts in the industry (especially ones that have good pricing), and a huge inventory of decor. They took the stress off of myself and my family, and my husband and I are forever grateful!
Toni and Joy are amazing! I honestly can’t say enough about how generous, honest and communicative they were since I was planning a wedding from overseas and was “the bride that had no clue what she wanted”. Their advice, experience and all around great personalities made the event planning straight forward, easy, and actually fun! I could keep going on and on about all the things I love about these ladies but I will sum it up with the wedding was fantastic and they were the best.
There aren't enough words to express how grateful we are to Toni and Joy for making our wedding day everything we could have hoped for. Being out of town and someone who absolutely hates planning and making decisions, they made the planning process unbelievably easy and set us up with amazing vendors! Their value is unmatched and is easily the best money I spent on our wedding.

Down Annie Lane are excellent wedding planners! I used their Day Of service. I was an out-of-town bride who was obsessed with planning details. Joy and Toni provided guidance & great vendor suggestions which resulted into discounted rates & superior service. Their credibility and connections in the New Orleans area took the stress away from living hundreds of miles away. They were very responsive and so fun to work with! Highly recommend!
Words can’t express how wonderful Joy and Toni of Down Annie Lane are. We planned a wedding in New Orleans from London and couldn't have pulled it off without them. We booked DAL in January for an October wedding and had selected our venue the August prior.
In January, my Maids of Honor and I met with five wedding planners while in NOLA including DAL, most of them were wonderful and we had a difficult choice. Just before we met for the final interview fifth interview we reviewed the four we had met and DAL was the front runner. We loved Joy and Toni's warmth, humor, compassion and amazing selection of hand bags! More importantly we believed in their mission of helping brides in Annie's memory.
Funny anecdote: While we were interviewing the final wedding planner (who was a bit of a bully) my Maid of Honor booked DAL under the table during the interview.
No question we made the right choice, we challenged DAL with an eight hour wedding including 130 guests from all over the world. From the beginning they managed all of the details, most of which we didn't even know needed to be done. The extra efforts they offered us was such a cost savings without sacrificing quality we had access to their inventory of wonderful decor, list of reliable vendors (that they drove us around to meet and arrange tastings during a short visit in July!), ideas on invitations and the week pre-wedding the attention they gave us made us feel so special, something they did driving us to get our marriage license, stamping our second line napkins, organizing our non-traditional ceremony wedding rehearsal even getting us pralines from an amazing baker was worth every penny.
We opted for DALs full service package and felt that we received the full value of their attention and expertise.
There were hiccups along the way as there always is but they kept us informed and didn't burden us with the details. It was such a comfort to hear: "I'm on it sweetie. Back to you soon" confident in knowing that the issues would be resolved. Our wedding was an event that our guests will not forget and it comes down to Down Annie Lane making the magic happen from rehearsal dinner BBQ, an extended Cocktail Hour, three bands, classic car rental to our second line to the after party.
My only advice is that I am "spreadsheet" type planner and Joy and Toni are one to one, personal communication. Nothing was overlooked and I adapted to their approach.
Down Annie Lane is a service that I highly recommend and am grateful for having them as our wedding planners and will always cherish the memories of our amazing day!

Words cannot express how grateful me and my (now) husband are to Toni and Joy of Down Annie Lane for all that they did for us for our wedding. Literally a year of planning for our big day and Joy and Toni were with us every step of the way.
No matter what we needed, they were there. From personally hand stamping our handkerchiefs for our wedding favors, to finding amazing photographers for us, to even such little details as personally taking us to get our wedding license, Joy and Toni were so lovely to work with! And the day of the wedding, when I was so forgetful that I forgot the diaper bag for my daughter in my hotel room, Joy and Toni made arrangements to go get diapers and wipes all in the midst of my wedding reception...simply so I could have one less thing to worry about. That's just one example of the countless ways they came through for us. And let us not forget that I live in CA, and yet was able to rely on Toni and Joy to effectively plan this wedding when I was in a totally different state.
Toni and Joy are true lifesavers and dream makers when it comes to the vision we had for our wedding. I honestly wish they didn't just plan weddings because if I could have them help plan christenings, birthday parties, etc., I absolutely would! You cannot go wrong if you hire Joy and Toni for your wedding. You 100% will not be disappointed. Cannot recommend them enough!

Fantastic, fabulous, terrific, marvelous, the best - I could run out of adjectives to describe the quality, professionalism, enthusiasm, and care shown by Joy and Toni. You must choose Toni and Joy to plan your wedding! They are two of the most generous, thoughtful, professional, and kind people I have ever met. Planning a destination wedding is stressful, but Toni and Joy did everything possible to minimize that stress. When I could get down to New Orleans, they arranged all vendor meetings and drove my mother and I everywhere. They have great connections around the city that help keep costs reasonable. They are also incredibly flexible to use of new/different vendors and style based on the bride’s preferences. These two went above and beyond in the duties of wedding planners, including addressing invitations, helping to plan the rehearsal dinner, etc. They should charge more for all of their incredible services. Always happy and open to discuss the wedding planning, and I truly felt they were my advocate through the whole experience. They truly did everything they could to make my wedding vision come to life. Also, they do everything they can to keep your wedding costs at/below budget. I would HIGHLY recommend Down Annie Lane. We were incredibly fortunate to work with and get to know these women! My entire wedding experience was perfect thanks to these two!

Highly Recommend-especially if you're from out of town. I worked with Toni and Joy for my 10/28/17 wedding. We started working together a YEAR before the big day. When you book them for full service-they're gonna help you through everything. These women focus on wedding planning so you don't have to worry about competing for their time against corporate events, etc. and you don't have to buy a bucket of hours or spend a lot of money to get extra help. They do this because they love it and you can tell in the care and attention they give their couples. Another great selling point for Down Annie Lane is their connection with local vendors and discounted pricing. It was a huge help since we were 1) planning this long distance in Texas 2) wanting to have a killer wedding but with a modest budget. Some of their key vendors like the bakery they use, the florist, and the photographer are all amazing. The cake was a showstopper at our wedding, I got my dream bouquet even though I gave the florist very little guidance--"greenery with an artichoke", and the photographers made me feel like a princess. . Needless to say, not only are Joy and Toni amazing but they make sure to surround themselves with great vendors. Another great feature is that they have a bounty of decor which you're able to use for your big day-that saved us tons of money since we weren't worried about buying items for centerpieces, or table decorations. For the actual wedding weekend, they were amazing. The Friday before my wedding-Toni was able to work magic with a Parish judge to get the marriage license despite a birth certificate issue. Not many planners would take such an investment but they really care about making it perfect for you. And then the day-of was amazing because Joy and Toni were working their magic while I just relaxed and got ready. They communicated with vendors, set-up the space, wrangled family for photos, set-up the cake cutting time, handed out sparklers for our exit, got us to the party bus etc. Christian and I were able to just focus on each other during the ceremony and then have the best time with our guests during the reception . That kind of peace of mind is priceless. you should definitely book Down Annie Lane

We're so glad we decided to get a wedding planner and even MORE thankful that we found Down Annie Lane. After 3 months of trying to plan on our own (getting no where...not even a date), Toni and Joy jumped in and helped us find venues and vendors that we never would have thought to look at (and pushed us to make decisions). They went head on without any complaints or sounds of doubt in taking on a wedding during French Quarter Fest!!!
They were always available when we needed them and were so good at making us feel good/not worried about our decisions. It's hard to let go of control, but they did a great job coordinating everything (second line, getting us there, vendors) during that CRAZY weekend. They even went dress shopping with me, since my family and friends were all out of town! They have decorations you can borrow and a ton of ideas to work with.
Everything turned out AMAZING - better than we could have ever imagined. My husband said during the wedding/reception he'd always wonder if we were going to do speeches or cake next...but Toni and Joy were always right there shuffling us to where we needed to be.
We had a small issue with the venue, but so glad they were there to handle it. I couldn't imagine how much more stressed I'd be if I had to handle any problems! They make you feel like you're their children. They do forget a few things, like details we'd talk about during meetings, but those are minor and you just have to remind them. I really don't know how they have so much energy to do what they do everyday for all their couples. They are an amazing duo.
Joy and Toni are the perfect pair and created the most amazing dream wedding I have ever experienced. From details, décor, organization and even pep talks - they take care of everything. I met them 9 months prior to my wedding and thought "this is impossible, I can't have the wedding I dreamed of in such a short amount of time." I was so very wrong. Our story with Toni and Joy started on a chance meeting at another wedding vendor’s spot and ended with the perfectly planned destination wedding. Not only did they help pull off the most remarkable ceremony and reception, Down Annie Lane helped with all logistics, supplying a number of items for the reception, coordinated parade permits and band, arranged wait staff for a welcome party, provided a delivery location for our numerous packages, and to top it all off Toni picked us up from the airport and then proveeded to chauffeur us around to pick up our marriage license, purchase items for our welcome bags (which they stuffed) and then delivered all our packages to the hotel.
With over 170 people in attendance, five vendors and about 2 dozen deliveries there was no way we would have been able to have our wedding weekend go off as well as it did. Unfortunately Toni and Joy weren’t available on our wedding day, they provided the most professional expert mother daughter team of Kathy and Candace who not only allowed us to have a stress free ceremony and reception, Candace also helped with taking down my hair, touching up my makeup and bustling my dress. We knew we would wind up friends the minute we met them, but we left feeling like we gained three aunts and a cousin in New Orleans!
Joy and Toni were wonderful. As an out of town bride, they were my eyes, ears, and mouthpiece and I couldn't have planned my wedding without them. They did s phenomenal job making my day special. They are smart, honest and impossible not to love. Our dream was to share New Orleans, one of our favorite cities, with our guests--most of whom had never traveled there. We got married 3 weeks ago in New Orleans at a lovely venue called Petit Bourbon/ 530 Bourbon. My Husband and I live in New York but fell in love with New Orleans when we visited a few years ago for my birthday. Feeling a bit overwhelmed with attempting to plan the wedding from NYC, I hit the blogs and read about Down Annie Lane, the reviews were positive so I reached out. Joy responded to my e-mail and let me know that they already had a wedding booked on the same day... I was so disappointing but then a few minutes later she sent me some places to contact to get me started. How thoughtful of her, I thought to myself...Then another e-mail came it letting me know that they would be able to help plan the wedding and get someone to fill for the day of. We signed with them that week!
We went down to New Orleans in February to try and finalize all the details. We meet Joy and Toni the following day for our viewings; they are two of the nicest and warmest people we have ever met. We instantly took to them and felt totally comfortable trusting that they would do a great job and help make our day beautiful. They introduced us to wonderful vendors such as Studio 1216 & Meade Wenzel who really take pride in the job they do and are just lovely to deal with. We probably would never found them on our own. Joy and Toni personally took us to all of our meetings and appointments. The rest of the planning was done on the phone and via e-mail. They always made time to chat and we know they were constantly busy with other weddings.
They saved us money as well, most of their vendors gave them discounts which they passed on to us and they have a large inventory of items that they are happy to let you use for FREE! They put together the welcome bags all on their own and took me to drop them all off on top of other tasks we had to take care of. Our wedding was magical; Joy and Toni made sure we were all on the same page and in good hands. There were a few snags on the day of but really there always are. Nothing dampened the day and the good energy that was in the air.
Joy and Toni are wonderful…..We went to New Orleans not knowing anyone there and left with two new family members.

I had Joy and Toni for as a day of planner, but they turned out to be so much more. They felt like more than planners, more like family. They made sure to check in and make sure everything was going as I needed throughout the whole planning process. The day of the wedding they really made my vision come through and I had very little stress because of them. They also helped provide little things that I may have forgotten during planning. I would def recommend them to any bride!!
Down Annie Lane made everything so simple and everything ran very smoothly. I was from out of state and I never had to worry about something not getting done. They were always very on top of things and kept me updated on progress. If something was coming in higher than my budget, they were able to customize my orders with other professionals to make it fit my budget. These ladies are the wedding fairy godmothers!
Toni and Joy are lifesavers. As half of a couple in a long-distance relationship (my now-husband was in New Orleans while I was in PA finishing school), we were drowning in a logistical nightmare before we found them. When we first reached out to them, we let them know our budget and they were more than happy to work inside of it to give us the wedding that we wanted. They were accommodating and supportive of all of our plans, even when they were untraditional, and did everything they could to make our wedding the loving, joyful, intimate celebration that we hoped it would be. Every vendor they recommended was reliable, reasonable, and a pleasure to work with. And, when the planned outdoor ceremony was rained out on the day of the wedding, they went into full crisis management mode to move the ceremony indoors and make sure that the ceremony and reception went through without a hitch. After the party, they packed away all the leftover food, drinks, and decorations, making sure we could find them safely. They literally took care of and thought about everything - no detail was left unaddressed, and all of this was done on a modest (two students!) budget. We had a beautiful, meaningful, and stress-free wedding day, and wouldn't have been able to do it without them.
I wish I could give ABOVE a five star rating to Joy & Toni. We were planning a destination wedding from Houston for our only daughter. Without their help, patience and guidance, I don't know how we would have pulled it off. I encourage you to hire them from the beginning because they have so many resources that will help you create a magical wedding on a budget. Toni and joy are an absolute godsend. We were a stressed out couple with full time jobs and they completely saved us. They are two of the hardest working women I've ever met and are extremely affordable and specialize in keeping you on a budget, whether it is $1,000 or $50,000. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone getting married, at the end they felt like family to us. They took my vision for our wedding and made it even more magical then we could have ever imagined. We could not have asked for better planners and now, friends.

I hired them to do day-of planning since I live in Austin and was having a destination wedding New Orleans. There were simply things I couldn't handle over email or over the phone. At times, my (now) husband and I were very frustrated with vendors. Not to mention, we were trying to manage all the bills! Enter Toni and Joy, who jumped on the case to manage our vendors, keep us on budget, and make a magical experience for all of us.
Toni and Joy's services are a steal. They did our day-of, ran our rehearsal, supplied décor, transported items including food for our welcome party, picked up our printing, picked up everything, and managed our vendors--including one particularly difficult vendor who wanted to charge us $3K more than our budget. Toni and Joy to the rescue! Really, worth every penny (and probably significantly more). I wish I had hired them sooner. I would certainly hire them again.
